Good Morning!
Lipstick...Are you running?
Good morning Miss Mia and all!
Have a Great Friday!
Lots of talk on Sarah Palin on Fox & Friends.
Geraldo gave her some props, but he said "maybe Palin and Huckabee, not sure who's on top . . . and who . . . who . . . (garbles)" . . . he realized he was getting his words twisted and started mumbling . . . jerk<span> </span>
Hey, on Facebook Sarah has 1,097,593 "supporters".
- is this the same as "friends" ? If not, what's the diff ?
Good morning all,
I wanted to see what you guys think of this tidbit about Sarah vs obama and see what your thoughts were. Notice how in the videos of her holding her pens? I see a very hard worker, someone that's ready to get the job done vs obama, who you rarely see holding a pen or paperwork or even at a desk. Just an observation. That tells me a lot!
Good morning! Geraldo said Sarah has managed to erase her negatives mostly positive but I cringed at the Huckabee/Palin suggestion and to me supporters and friends in regards to Sarah's facebook page are the same because when we read her book we feel we have known her all her life because Sarah is us and we are Sarah
Good Morning...PJ.... ;)
Good morning from southwest Georgia.
Sarah Palin works the circuit all the way to Hamilton (Canada)Alaska's 'pit bull with lipstick' to bring her own brand of folksiness to Ontario – for $200,000
http://www.thestar.com/news/ontario/article/737482--sarah-palin-works-the-circuit-all-the-way-to-hamilton?bn=1
Palin will speak at a fundraiser for the Juravinski Cancer Centre and St. Peter's Hospital. Organizers hope to sell 1,000 tickets at $200 a plate, but raise more via photos with her.
My Dear Friends in Sarah,
It is a matter of constant regret to me that I cannot always participate in the various discussion threads that develop on this marvelous site. I would have loved, for example, to put my two, or even three, cents in regarding the Cubs and the Cardinals!!
The Sarah vs. al gore (algore!) discussion yesterday has inspired a few thoughts that I would like to share with you.
Sarah is a human being. All through the winding course of her life she has lived courageously as a human being, has interacted with humans, has loved humans, has confronted humans, has competed with humans, has fought with humans, on the basketball court, in the halls of government at various levels, in the struggle for our country.
People like al gore, and the whole left in this country and abroad, hate human beings. Why? In my opinion, it is because man/woman was created in God's image. These people hate God and they hate man/woman. So, instead of loving, arguing with, competing with, helping and fighting with, ENGAGING with humans, they invent a false "religion." This "religion" takes on various masks and guises. One popular one is the "worship" of "mother earth." The effete, elite worshippers in this temple do not have to confront and engage with ordinary men and women; they insulate themselves in their gilded "ivory towers" of feigned and fictitious concern for the planet; however, they neglect, nay despise, the ordinary, everyday human beings for whom God created this planet earth: man/woman is the glory of God's creation!! Within the fascistic confines of this ivory tower all dissent is suppressed, and those who kowtow to the party line are rewarded with money and status...while ordinary Americans struggle to earn an honest living.
Our precious Sarah's whole life, by contrast, is a witness to and testament to her "philosophy," if you will, of love for God and man. However, if we reflect on it for a moment, I think we will find that this glorious book tour, which will be remembered with joy and sweetness and gratitude years and decades from now by the people, especially the young people, who were privileged to meet her--this book tour encapsulates, incarnates, and illustrates Sarah's love for...HER (future POTUS) people:
Did she shrink from the exhausting and daunting pace and progress of the proposed book tour?
NO!!!!
Was she afraid that she might contract swine flu from her contact with tens of thousands of people?
NO!!!!
Was she afraid that she might develop carpal-tunnel syndrome from the signing of thousands upon thousands of books--this gallant gal who played on a bum ankle to lead her team to the State Basketball Championship?
NO!!!!
Was she afraid that she might develop a throat infection from speaking to so many of her people?
NO!!!!
Was she afraid that she might be subjected either to the gross insult of an egg or tomato thrown at her, or to the real peril to her life represented by a bullet?
NO!!!!
(TO BE CONTINUED)
I flipped to Campbell Brown's show last night because I heard Franklin Graham was going to be on so I assumed he would be asked about Sarah, said a lot of good things about her, but when asked if she ran for president would he support her he said I don't know because I don't think she is going to run
Ciao Bello...Avete acquistato tua moglie suo regalo di Natale??
(CONTINUATION)
Sarah holds the invincible and deathless power of love in her heart; the people of America are reciprocating and returning that golden love...and the sentiments and bonds and bands of union are only going to wax stronger and deeper and tighter as the days and months stride and march forward into 2010...2011...2012...
al gore and his ilk cannot love. To the extent that they can "love" anything, they love power; they love money; they love themselves. They hide the ugliness of their small, straitened, shrunken souls behind the curtain and screen of a fictitious "love" for a fictitious idol, "mother earth."
It is precisely in being turned in on themselves that they are anti-human. It is of the essence of our humanity that we reach out from ourselves, and communicate and connect with others. This phenomenon occurs in the most profound way when two human beings bring a third human being into this world, and love and cherish and educate that child. But it occurs on many planes and levels. Even when I share a beloved poem, a beloved song, an inspiring story with a friend, I am living the essence of what it is to be a man or a woman.
This, I think, is the heart and essence of why we all love Sarah so deeply: she is a quintessential human being and lady, Lady Sarah. The mom, the wife, the daughter, the sister, the friend, the public servant, the governor, the author, the athlete, the future President...the beautiful, fearless, gutsy girl from Wasilla. She is like a gem, and the many facets of the jewel all radiate and reflect her luminous, loving humanity! All of these "relations," in the philosophical, Aristotelian sense, all of these relationships, reveal the depth and fullness and fineness of her humanity!
My dear friends, let us thank the good Lord every hour and every day for raising up a champion who speaks for us, who acts for us...yes, I dare to say it, because it is the simple truth...who loves us...as we love her!!!
God bless you all!!
SARAH 2012!!!
Brianus
Very well put Brianus! I too have noticed the disturbing ambivelance towards humanity that members of the church of global warming have exhibited, it is no coincidence that after the Soviet Union collapsed a lot of former officials from that country joined the environmentalist movement Gorbechav was one of them
Brianus,
can't read all of your great post, but I did catch the main point:
- they hate God.
that's it.
They destroyed Bush 41 to prove that he's not God (and to prove to their minions that man is greater than God)
- then they prop up a false God and tell their minions to follow him
And God raised up Sarah.
- may her supporters be as strong and courageous as she is.
Sarah is playing her cards just right.
- and she's NOT sure, she's looking, and watching, and praying.
And if she sees an Army throughout the heartland and an Army in DC, well, then, the door might be open, in her mind.
And if it's open . . .
Sarah is a lot like St. Adalbert, I have a book of Saints and in the description about St. Adalbert, it said he experienced violent political opposition
she will crash right through it :)
Good morning all!
At Lucianne.com, Lucianne Goldberg on Sarah's book tour: "What a tour! And, the beauty part is that the MSM hasn't a clue what she's "thinking." Well done, Guv'na."
On LauraIngraham.com, the current high bid on Sarah's Going Rogue jacket is $25,000.00!
Borders Books must have gotten tired of having to list Going Rogue as its #1 selling book, so what did they do? Now, when you go to the Borders home page, and click on Books, you get a list of books, but the first thing on that list is a stuffed Panda Bear, no not a book, but a toy, that way Going Rogue is 2nd on the list. I'm sure the panda is selling very well for Christmas, but it hardly qualifies to be in the book list. I've read elsewhere complaints that some Borders stores don't display Going Rogue despite the fact that it is their bestseller.
GR is still #1 in all books at Amazon, and is now #3 at BN, but still #1 in non-fiction.
Since the NYT bestseller list breaks books down into several catagories, GR may top the non-fiction list for quite awhile, since it will only be competing with non-fiction books, which historically haven't sold nearly as well as fiction. The longer its at the top of the list, the better, it must give those people at the NYT ulcers every week when they come up with the list. Maybe they'll take a cue from Borders and add a toy to their list.
PJ now Huh.. That's okay...has an aweful familiar sound to it!
Good morning C4P!
I'm sure it's bitter sweet for her book tour to be over with. I know it is for me. No more Sarah Palin every day!! It's like we went from nothing to huge amounts to now perhaps nothing again! Oh goodness. Hope she starts writing that book about energy independence ;)
Brianus,
That is just so beautiful!
I could not agree more!
Thats good news jimr3! She is going to beat BOR for sure!
Nancy....
I fear we may fail in our Mission to "help" Brianus...
But I think we should soldier on...at least for awhile longer!
What will the toy be, the Obama bobblehead doll?
Amen, Bill!!!!
Thanks, Bee!!!
Bingo, Pat. BTW, I loved your comments yesterday re Jack Bauer and 24: I love the show too, and I own all of the DVDs. Glad you are enjoying it!!
The LSM has no clue what she is thinking...and they have no clue what the "ordinary barbarians" are thinking either! I like a good "blindside" in the morning!
Diedre next month she will be campaigning for Rick Perry down in Texas so we won't have Sarah Palin withdrawl for very long :)
...and someone, I cannot remember if it was you or someone else, said "obama is no David Palmer"--right on!!
Hi, there, Jean!!
Good morning, Gent!!
Good morning, good day, and God bless all ye (extra-)ordinary barbarians.
Simply awesome what Sarah and family have done on this book tour. Looking forward to news from Idaho, and very happy that the Palins and Heaths will be home together.
Congrats to all who stayed in lines all night and all day, often in very cold weather, to greet Sarah and her family. And to those who posted their accounts and photos -- THANKS!
If just burns me, when I hear 7 out of 10 think she's not qualified to be POTUS. Was obama, I've done nothing? Was Bill Clinton?" Was either of the Bush's? Was Jimmy Carter? What the heck! DO they mean because she's a woman, she'll never be ready to be POTUS? Come on, she been Mayor, and Governor among other things, PLEASE, spare me the BS!
yeah that was me Brianus, I just finished season 6 last night, when Jack Bauer was with Audrey Raines and realized he couldn't be with her he said that his life was at a crossroads, I couldn't help but think that is where our country is now, can't wait to start season 7
Thanks Brianus, <span>yeah that was me who said obama is no David Palmer, I am pretty sure David Palimer was a democrat but he always did the right thing and came off as no left winger in the show, I just finished season 6 last night, when Jack Bauer was with Audrey Raines and realized he couldn't be with her he said that his life was at a crossroads, I couldn't help but think that is where our country is now, can't wait to start season 7</span>
Good morning CharterOakie did you read my verse for the Chrissy Matthews song? I think it needs a little work but what did you think?
Come to think of it tho..it kind of "desensitizes" my Avatar!
Okay...Back to Cruela...No more cleansing...
I'm still in the hospital right now. I have a wonderful surgical roommate, and I can tell she's a Democrat. She's hispanic. Wonderful lady. I'm trying to convince her about Sarah Palin. The funny thing is she is so conservative in morals, and she has made comments about the government bailouts being wasteful.
I think some people are just Demcrats by default, and don't understand that the Democrats no longer represent the little guy. That mantle now rests on Sarah Palin and the conservatives who are championing the middle class.
Does Amazon customize their home page based on me ?
It just thought it was funny that on (my) Amazon home page was
- "the hat"
- bunch of Reagan books
- bunch of Sarah books
sweet !<span> </span>
Cruela and Nancy, you guys are really piquing (did I spell that correctly? :-) ) my curiosity!!
Is it "Mission Impossible" ?!? LOL!!
Enjoy, Pat, enjoy...exactly, David Palmer is the kind of Dem we could all live with, because he had guts and obviously LOVED AMERICA!!
and yes I am enjoying the show immensely and own all the DVD's thanks to my dad, we both were supposed to watch them all together but he got busy and he hasn't even started the second season so I guess I have really gotten ahead of him!
I hope everything is going well :) How are you feeling?
Hey RD!...When is your release from hospital Jail?
that is the case RD, my wonderful grandmother who is 100% Italian but was born in this country (parents were from Italy), never ever votes democrat besides being registered democrat, she lives in Delaware County, New York and is the only registered democrat who helped on election day in her town, she is only a democrat because all immigrant families were expected to be democrats
Ciao Mia Bella, buongiorno.
Non, pas encore. Je m'excuse. Ma grazie per il vocabolario!
But you can watch it all again with him!!!!
Good morning fellow rogues for Sarah,
Woke up this morning to the realization that there was a void.......no more following the big blue bus, no more reports from the road, no more crowds of people shouting Sarah, Sarah.....no more fun watching the liberal media try to come up with new or even valid reasons to bash Sarah.....no more great personal stories from fellow barbarians who had the honor to spend a few moments with this great lady.
But, all good things come to an end and we must gear up for the fight for America which will intensify with the coming new year. Sarah will be down in the lower 48 giving speeches and campaigning for deserving candidates and I'm sure that Facebook notes will be flying from her busy fingers all along the way. It's been an exciting and intensive month.......I'm sure that there will be many more in the coming months.
I'm feeling a little nostalgic this Christmas....could it be the fear of losing our country and traditions to the radical America hating marxists in DC.....so now with all this time on my hands....I think that I am going to bring back some of the things we used to do during the holidays so many years ago.....first, time to get the decorations finished......this year, I'm even stringing popcorn and cranberries for the tree........then I'm going to rev up the volume on Going Rogue and spend a little time in the kitchen making homemade fudge and gingerbread men....and who knows what inspirations will come by the time I get to the 4th or 5th audio disc.
So time to get to work.....it's amazing what one can accomplish when we throw off the thoughts of old disappointments and the constraints that society seems to want to shackle us with.....it's like a new beginning.....like going rogue for Christmas. I predict that midnight mass this Christmas eve will be more special and fill my heart with new hope and optimism for the future.
God bless Sarah and family.
I posted her yesterday about the commenting system, and that we should consider moving to the Live mode, since the problem of being bumped when entering a reply has been fixed.
I got several comments but most were just happy with what we have.
One of my main points is that the way computer systems work is that
- information is delivered
- you don't have to constantly poll for the info
- think Twitter, Facebook, and your own e-mail
- also think of the old system (the only problem with the old system was trolls, imo)
My point today is that this system drives people away.
Sure, we have our hard core supporters.
- but in general my gut feel is that most new people try, then fall away
And it just seems like there are a lot of people who used to be on (KentonAK, for example) who are no longer active.
- and ******** in general **********, only hard core people remain.
So, why not
- survey the current commenters
- have a survey and ask newcomers what they think.
Don't take my word or just ignore my comments
- survey the users of the system and then evaluate
thanks.<span> </span>
Yep, many adopt other so called good causes as an alternative to people. Pets, the earth, the trees, astrology, cuisine even. I've been noticing this since I was a teen. It's crazy, to be sure. As for the love of self, I'm not so sure. It's a kind of horrible insecurity born of the absence of God, whereby they assume the role of God as best they can, while knowing within themselves that it's a sham. To go through life like this requires an alliance with like minded souls who never speak of the possibility of another way. To speak of the possibility would be to destroy the only world they know, that which they have created in their own narrow minds. They seek their affirmation in the growth of that world, where others are sucked in through cajolery, connivance, or force, if necessary.
We know there's nothing to fear, as His will will be done, regardless of our selfish wishes, and so we tend not to worry about thinjgs beyond our control. This freedom, and the joy it brings, strikes fear into their hearts, and so they strive to destroy it.
yes I can, the show is that good :) btw another fictional character Sarah reminds me of is Eowyn from the Lord of the Rings, in the books and the movies her friends and even her brother were always in effect telling Eowyn to just sit down and shut up and let the men fight the wars, but did she listen to them Hell No! She defeated the witch king!
Bingo, bingo, Recovering...simple and profound. These are issues I am well aware of...I look "white" (my dad's side), but I am actually half Hispanic (mom's side). And I am praying for you daily.
God bless!!
Brianus
Drop by drop, water bores holes through granite.
Bee - consider the sources for the "poll."
"BS" is right.
Nice photo of Sarah speaking to the soldier(s), and cool to see the demand in Canada for her as a speaker. No surprise.
On the NYT bestseller list:
29<span><span>THE AUDACITY TO WIN</span></span>, by David Plouffe (Viking
Plouffe's book is #29, not even close.
It's dropped to #215 at Amazon, and #420 at B&N. Essentially, it is heading back DOWN to where it was before he started begging people to buy it on the 8th to challenge Going Rogue.
29<span><span>THE AUDACITY TO WIN</span></span>, by David Plouffe (Viking

My late mom's first language was Spanish, but she spoke perfect English...indeed she met my dad in a Chaucer class on the Berkeley campus!!
Charter, I LOVE your combining of French and Italian!! It is normal and natural!!!
This is really OT but for all of you who have PC's, I just got a new laptop in late September with Vista, it seems alright but I am starting to run into problems, I tried to upgrade the Adobe Reader there was an error so I couldn't download PDF documents so I had to download the upgrade myself, I have the reader back, but I got a free upgrade to Windows 7 so I ordered it because I heard it has faster load times but what have you guys heard is it worth upgrading to 7?
Thanks, cookboy!!
YES, YES, YES: our EOWYN!!!
Go with Windows 7.
Vista is akin to Windows ME (Millenium), a (bad) stop-gap to the next best OS.<span> </span>
^^^^ another point,
with no e-mails coming with replies, most of the conversation is lost.
And say you take 5 minutes to write something, then other things get slipped in, and it becomes cumbersome to see that, etc.
but again, my point is to survey the people who use the system and especially new users.
And I posted this a couple (?) of weeks ago, but shall repeat it here:
In the Lord of the Rings movie, the dying Boromir says to Aragorn,"My Brother, my Captain, my King, I would have followed you anywhere!"
So, I can say to Sarah, "My Sister, my Captain, my President, I shall follow you anywhere!"
And I know I speak for everyone here!!
7 out of 10 what? Did anybody ask you? Or me? Polls are for dancing, I think.
Kjanlady: That. Is. So. Beautiful!!!!!
God bless!!!!
Brianus
Bill: I concur with your comments. Luv this site to death, but it can be cumbersome. the faithful somehow plow through, but it has driven away many.
If a post by the contributors is longish in nature it displaces a more active thread to the bottom of a page making it harder to find and subsequently killing it.
Happy Friday, everyone!
I love "Fellow Rogues for Sarah"!!
Brianus, great post regarding the idolatry of the God rejectors. Man is basically god-hungry and therefore will either come to know the true God and believe His word or otherwise will fashion other "gods" to worship: the works of their own hands or vain philosophies. And those who reject the true God will invariably despise those who embody and manifest His word and spirit, such as Sarah.
Therefore, in view of your wonderful post, it's rather mean of me to quibble with the fact that you batted only 1 for 4 (albeit .333 in the first part) in holding true to the fact...
that there's no.space.in "algore" (alternate spellings: AlGore, Algore)!
There is, however, AlGore in space.
Please do remember that, good friend. ; )
panchita,
I was hoping I wasn't alone, thanks.
also I posted yesterday, it's not sustainable.
- when Fairfax got to 600 comments, a new thread had to be opened.
we should be getting upper hundreds in comments, right now, low hundreds is an active thread
Compared to other sites, and given this sites popularity, I think it is way low
(and have the comments are by Mia, CruelaDav, Nancy, and Lipstick !)
That's right, thanks for the reminder! Thank God for that!
Patrick - thanks for mentioning. Last time I checked yesterday, no one had yet volunteered a verse. I shall now happily read your contribution!
Brianus, that's a very perceptive "treatise". I saved it and hope to share it with a friend who i hope will see the light. I also saved Cookboy's insight. Thanks to the both of you for a powerful "dissertation".
Morning Southern Gent:
I always keep an eye out for your comments over at HotAir. I like reading your thoughts. Some of those posters over there are quite knowledgeable of the facts and quite witty to boot.
Nice to see you posting here now too. :)
LOLROF, my good friend..well, .250 might let me ride some bench in the majors, and with .333 I could be a star and make the mega bucks!!
God bless!!! :-)
Nicole, you can legitimately retain the "Recovering" part of your name a bit longer. Speedy recovery, RD!
Sorry If I am getting stuck on 24 Brianus, but this just hit me, at the end of season 6 Jack Bauer tells Audrey Raines that he loves her with all his heart but he has realized in order to protect her he cannot be with her anymore, It reminded me of when Sarah announced she was stepping down she essentially said the same thing, I love Alaska but I have realized in order to protect the state and the people I love I can no longer be governor

BTW, I've been thinking of coining a new one: PSM (piss-stream media). Or when their stuff REALLY stinks: SSM. No elaboration needed, I trust.
The NYTimes and LSM can try with all their might to make it harder for Governor Palin to be successful, but the problem with this strategy is that they harder they try to hide her, the more people will try to find her.

that acene always chokes me up
scene
The hospital I work at switched entirely to window 7. I offer that only as a endorsement from techies for the program.
thanks for the advice Bill, luckily I did not ever experience Windows ME
RD:
Get to work on getting your roomie to switch sides already. Enough of this staying peaceful and quiet while trying to recover crap. Perhaps scare tactics will do the trick. Tell her that I hope she is enjoying her hospital stay, but pretty soon the Obama Administration will tell her that she doesn't need hospitals or doctors to get better. All she needs is people like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid in her life to cure her of all her aches and pains.
That should turn her real quick to the Governor Palin side of the aisle. Well that, or send her in Code Blue.
Happy Friday, Whit!!!
Good morning all!!! Frosting those cookies I made last night :)
Shucks, Charter speaks French and Italian simultaneously, it's all I can do to string 3 words together in my native tongue!
Brianus - sometimes I'm too hurried or lazy to look up the Italian words not in my vocabulary, but thanks for your comment.
Schoenen guten morgen, Frau Lipschtick. : )
here it is CharterOakie I think it needs a little work but here it goes:
As Chrissy tries so hard to bring Sarah down
He only makes himself look like a clown
Matthews who so hates Palin
can't help but watch enviously as Obama starts failin'
He hates her signature so much
Oh my, he is so out of touch
I would say that is a good endorsement gelston, thanks
any Palin-inspired shapes?

Would it be unreasonable to assume that 99% of outsiders would like to mute 99% of insiders?
How does one become identified (and polled) as a "GOP insider" ???
Thanks, hooi!!!
Brianus
Good ol' Houston, TX, my erstwhile home. And God.Bless.Texas!
have a great time Lipstick :) hopefully she will come to Ohio and campaign for John Kasich who is running for governor here
EXCELLENT! You are now officially counted among the Chrissy Song minstrels!
I liked how she broke the mold for wives of politicians she refused to stand by him, I have a feeling she is a strong admirer of Sarah
Who will put their name ON THE RECORD for being the person responsible for creating this poorly phrased and unprofessional poll?
Waiting....still waiting....
Low life scum suckers.
Pat, GREAT insight!! Thanks.
Lipstick, great news about the big run. Tell you what, we can quickly find out who the weenies are in our little cyber family. You show your toe and I'll flash my war wounds and we'll see who's tough!
That's great! I'm glad that your toe did well! I'm really glad that it went well! What dedication--6.5 miles! That's almost two days of my running! I'm been such a slacker lately, Lipstick! You need to send your disciplined aura up North! I HATE treadmills, but I'm going to try to run on one at the gym tonight. I need to get back to being more disciplined. I've been good with the strength exercise, but not my running. :(
P.S. I could tell you the story of what my foot looked like after I got a major blister running a half marathon and bled through my shoes, but it was gross!
your welcome
Has she now officially been told to "sit down and shut up"?
Please, please, please, "insiders"... please, keep challenging the 'Cuda. The results are sure to be beautiful!
btw hope your toe feels better soon
I caught snippets on this but the sound-bites I heard were he was trying to reconcile.
Divorce is so awful. It's worse than the death of a parent, seriously.
my dad left, without warning, when I was 12.
- I got over it when I as like 42, not kidding.
but he was part of my life, I still loved him and looked up to him.
But he shattered my innocence, and I didn't realize it until when I was 35 (about the time I became a Christian).
Mark Sanford has ruined 6 lives under his roof, and affected the marriages of his four boys, they are tainted forever, though they can certainly recover.
He is a disgrace, he should resign, and he should spend the rest of his life trying to make it up to his boys, though he has lost his position of authority and honor.
And all for what ? For what resided in his own bedroom with the wife he pledged himself to, and most likely he swore an oath to God.
And he wants to remain in power ??????????
the only one I have is the moose...
thanks I am truly honored to be counted among that elite group :)
RD, hope you're coming along ok. I just told all the hospital staff that I wanted to get my surgery and treatments over with before the big healthcare takeover, and without exception, they were horrified over what might be on the horizon. Plus, I took a copy of "Going Rogue" with me and didn't get one single discouraging word.
Prayers continue for a speedy and complete recovery.
Lipstick,
I have e-mailed Sheya and tips, around a week ago. No response, so I've brought it to the open forum.
Regarding the HA system (and Michelle Malkin site), I actually like this one better, but in live mode.
The ability to have "mini-threads" withing a post is amazing
- but not getting e-mails pretty much torpedoes the continuity.
All I'm asking is to give live blogging a try
- but only if it's agreed upon by others.
Seriously, it's amazing to watch the comments "roll in"
- it's even better than a real conversation because there's no "cross-talk"
I have gotten out of the habit of running as well, just started getting back into it running a paltry 2 miles every night so far
RD,
You continue to be in my prayers. I think you are spot on about why some people are stuck on being Democrat. People need to identify what they believe and then find the people they much up with, rather than just the party.
Sarah is working more than hard enough. The 28% of the "Insiders" can go pound sand.
yesterday I ended up in a shallow ditch due to black ice down a small incline on a back road.
just missed a three-car cruncher ahead of me, three cars pretty much totalled but no one hurt.
Got pulled out by tow truck, and back on the road after waiting for 90 minutes in 30 degree weather.
But not a scratch, just a wake-up call.
Love it, Lipstick!! The Guv would be proud of you!!
Bill:
I have a Blackberry and no longer can read everyones posts that I was able to do so with the old system. I miss that. Don't get me wrong. I love reading the articles that the contributors post, but for me, reading the posts from everyone is the highlight for me.
At one time I thought the Blackberry issue was going to be addressed, but to this day, I still cannot access any posts.
Amen manajordan! I am starting to realize why inhis farewel address George Washington warned about the influence of political parties
Lipstick,
Are you saying your name is Deb, not Lipstick? I feel so deceived!
hey thats great I realize an Alaska shaped cookie would be pretty difficult ;) btw where do you live in Ohio defendAmerica?
My wife says she'd like it but she can't stand to watch it for 12 or more hours at a time.
Entonces muy buenos dias amigo.
Yeah I don't get him either he really should resign, and I thought it was insulting for him a few months back to compare himself to Sarah, Gov. Sanford, you are nothing like Sarah!
LOL..I barely passed my department reading exam in German many years ago..not Sarah's D in an econ (?) class, but pretty bad...I THINK that's German, nicht wahr??
you mean 24 cookboy?
You must be livin' right!
Turdman
not done yet !
I wouldn't want to be in her situation, but I respect her decision. She seems like a very strong woman who will not put up with that type of behavior.
I wish more women would follow her lead to be honest.
I am not a mother or a wife and I understand the argument that many women stay for the sake of their children. But in my opinion, what kind of message does that truly send? That the behavior is okay? That the woman and mother always needs to sacrifice her own wants and needs because of shady behavior of her husband?
Why is it always the woman who is put on the pedestal of saving the family after their husbands stray?
And let me guess. Mark Sanford and Tiger Woods are devastated beyond belief what they did to their wives and families and will do everything in their power to save their marriage and family. Blah..blah..blah...blah...blah.
El Paso....hehe...we'll see. I'm praying about that. :) As far as half marathon training, this is what I did because I was not a hard core runner:
http://www.halhigdon.com/halfmarathon/novice.htm
Runner's World magazine's website also has a tool that you can create your own training schedule based upon your pace, experience etc.
I would encourage you to do one! You would do great! Heck, you ran half of a half marathon this morning! :)
I'm planning on buying the audio version of the book soon. Maybe that will be motivating. I listen to very mellow, chill music, so what I have on my ipod isn't much of a pick me up. Plus, I just don't like running in the dark. I've in a very safe neighborhood so safety isn't an issue. I just don't like it. So winters are tough. Oh well. I just need to suck it up! :)
Muchissimas gracias, amigo, et que Dios te bendiga!!!
how could the legislature in SC could not have voted to impeach him? BTW I said this a while back but I hope your toe gets better and I am praying for you lipstick
lipstick,
I'm sorry about your Dad, but in the grand scheme of things your Dad still influenced you and likely your mom. In death he still was part of the family.
With divorce, even though both parents are alive, the ramifications are just too much, especially if both get re-married. 8 grandparents is a lot to juggle.
For me, I realized thankfully that God was my father.
I did better with my family and broke the cycle, but I could have done a lot better as a father
<span>Oh I agree CharterOakie that the 28% can go pound sand. <span> </span>I’m just surprised that the number of “insiders” who want her to be silenced is not higher. I was only being facetious by saying she needs to work harder</span>
Kinda had to laugh when I read this.......it highlights the stupidity of liberal solutions and the fact that no matter the consequences, they are never ready to admit their wrong ideas........
From West Bend, Wisconsin
New LED traffic lights were installed to use less electricity. But no one thought of the fact that LED bulbs do not give off enough heat to melt snow and ice like the old traditional light bulbs. Snow and ice covered the lights causing an accident yesterday and now crews of Public Works employees are busy scraping snow and ice off of all traffic lights........but the Director of Public Works said the new lights have been a success and dramatically cut down on energy costs.
Wonder how many accidents and/or potential fatalities it will take for the libs to rethink their "energy saving" measure? How much will it cost for crews of workers to spend the next several months scraping traffic lights? How much energy is "saved" when crews are dispatched in gas guzzling vehicles to scrap snow and ice off the lights? How many valid law suits will arise over the government's creation of hazardous driving conditions?
Liberal energy "solutions".........clueless.
riley,
yes, there are two "activities" on this site
- reading the articles
- conversation
and my BB storm isn't too helpful either
(although I did learn RSS and like to read the articles in Google Reader)
way back in the summer, there was talk about moving to WordPress (Michelle Malkin has that)
my guess is there just isn't IT bandwidth to do stuff.
Don't get me wrong . . . I think LiveBlog is the BEST commenting system out there
- but in this refresh mode, it's terribly inefficient.
Happy Friday Whit! Hmmm....I sense something brewing for you. Okay fess up. Which is it?
1) You took the job in TX
2) You met a nice decent guy that you would be happy to bring home to meet the family
3) Its almost the weekend, therefore you are happy
4) You got invited to the White House Christmas party and got Michelle as your Secret Santa
OT: this is an article on Newsbusters about a nun who cheered the defeat of the Nelson amendment in the Senate which would have restricted abortion in the healthcare bill and who also escorts women to have abortions, I as a Catholic have noticed that there is a very strong progressive strain in the Catholic church and I think it brings the church down, another example Archbishop Mahoney of LA, you may remember him he tried to cover up abuses by priests in his diocese, he wants us to cover all illegal immigrants in the healthcare bill
check out the demo of Live blog on http://js-kit.com/
Deo Gratias, Bill!!!
Hey I failed French sophomore year in high school, I don't like blaming other people for my failures but the teacher was very difficult and everytime I walked in I would have a smile on my face because I was having such a good day then she would say to me wipe that smirk off your face, all downhill from there my friend
Ha, Lipstick, what I meant was, between the two of us, and adding Recovering Democrat's knee, we've got some fairly cool gross out images with which we could dazzle those here who might typically faint at the sight of such battle scarred glory!
Well Sarah is back in Alaska...she made a promo announcement on the Bob and Mark Show.. that whe will stopping by the Sears Parking lot in Anchorage to donate to Toys for Tots!
<span>Well Sarah is back in Alaska...she made a promo announcement on the Bob and Mark Show.. that she will be stopping by the Sears Parking lot in Anchorage to donate to Toys for Tots!</span>
Patrick - Coming from SC if you want the truth they saw who the Lieutenant Governor was and realized it was a step backwards.
You betcha. Nancy and ladydawnelle were early inductees. We haven't "sung" the song in many, many weeks, so I may be forgetting one or two others.
I know who he is Andre Bauer, what is wrong with him exactly?
Might be.. but we will give the old college try!
Hope is not lost....yet!
My god! its 8 am on Friday... I just do a quick look at the open thread on Friday and it has already 162 comments! 162 comments even before I drag my self out of bed!
Wow.. I feel sorry for the moderators.. they must work 24 hours in overlapping shifts.
I guess its true what they say: Too much of a good thing is.. wonderful!
And for you, too, Bean. Bless your heart, and thanks for the anecdote about the (Nashville?) hospital staff.
If she dosent run there is going to be one hell of a lot dissappointed people and the conservative will effectively be dead forever. There will be no return from socialism imposed by four more years of obama
OK, jim, fair enough. Admittedly I have an itchy 'trigger finger' when it comes to political insiders and any hint of disdain for Sarah.
Hehe, Riley! :) I so wish it was number 4!!!! That would make my entire year! I have so many sleeveless dresses and ostentatious belts that I would love to buy for Michelle!
Oh, how I wish it was number 2, or that I was closer to a decision on #1.
I'll admit though, it is #3, which is just fine and dandy for me! :)
Hmmm... that nun would never have made it around the nuns who ran the elementary school I attended. She's be kneeling on some salt right around now, doing some major penance. Or getting her knuckles rapped.
What is going to happen to the blue bus does anyone know?
Sorry Bill Oreilly and your massive ego even thoughh I like you. His high bid was 25K then he matched it for another 25K making it 50K, so really she already has it beat.
Kjay:
Since I live here in WI, I can tell you that this is just one of many Liberal "solutions" being made all because of the idiotic libs and Governor Jim Doyle. They all are clueless. Doyle has screwed up our state so much that he decided against running for a third term. It might have something to do with his VERY LOW poll numbers, but don't quote me on that.
We cannot get a Conservative Republican Governor soon enough.
Governor Palin should spend a lot of time here in Wisconsin in the coming months and years because she can turn it back to red. Everyone is fed up.
Did you see this over at Hillbuzz? It's a group of whackos, to say the least, who are now turning on Al Gore. LOL! From their site, they are a bunch of "9-11 truthers", but now they've turned their rage against ClimateGate and Al Gore. They followed him to a book signing and harassed the heck out of him. See, sometimes whackos even get something right. ;)
http://hillbuzz.org/2009/12/11/al-gore-confronted-on-climategate-in-chicago/#comments
sorry heres the link: http://newsbusters.org/blogs/ken-shepherd/2009/12/10/chitrib-blogger-do-pro-abortion-nuns-strengthen-church
You are sooo right about being democrat by default. Keep working on her!
It will probably be repainted and used for someone else's bus tour. That's my guess.
Brianus...one of THE best movies of all time...I love it when you reference it!!
Perky Couric: Sears?
Diane Sawyer: Is that where they serve Oysters on the half shell for $100 a plate?
Barbara Walters: I think so. Its a darling 5 star restaurant on the Upper West side.
Lame at best. Got in trouble for speeding (like 80 miles an hour downtown Columbia where 35 is fast) plus not the brightest bulb in the box.
Brianus,
You are incredibly talented! I am sooo thankful you are on Sarah's side!:)
Cruela let me in on a secret desire of hers (besides neckin' with Todd, which she accomplished?) in regards to you.:)
I am an amused observer of her interactions with you!:)
Oh, Cruela, you are so fun!
Brianus, just keep being your wonderful self. We love you!
Bless her heart.
By the way, I'd like to re-post my prediction from last night. There will be a Hanukkah Facebook sometime today or tomorrow.
<span><span> </span>Kooks turning on a kook.<span> </span>You gotta love it. </span>
I feel for AlGore. He really must be spitting nails at this point. First Palin questions the validity of his beliefs and now the liberal base is turning on him.
This really never would have happened if the Supreme Court ruled in his favor. Once again, Climategate is now to the forefront because Bush stole the election.
RD,
Way to go, talking to your roommate, even through your recovery! You are one awesome Ordinary Barbarian!:) Praying for you!
I see anybody promising in SC PEC?
Rasmussen daily tracking poll:
-12 (27-39) strongly approve-strongly disapprove
-4 (47-51) approve-disapprove
Kjanlady,
I love your avatar! Made me smile!
Thank you for your wonderful thoughts. It was excellent.
Very, very nice...many thanks and as always I revel in your love of the language!
Being a penurious sort, I bundled Mark Levin's LIBERTY AND TYRANNY along with GOING ROGUE to get free shipping. Of course, I was heavily influenced by seeing Sarah with a copy of his book in her hand. I've got a few pages left to read but did finish his chapter on "Enviro-Statism" yesterday. I highly recommend it.
One of his key points is that when ideology trumps science, the results are disastrous and usually disproportionately upon the poor. DDT, for example, was responsible for saving nearly 500 million lives and had nearly eradicated malaria. Yet, once DDT was outlawed by the US and the UN, despite an ALJ ruling that "...DDT is not a carcinogenic hazard to man...and does not have a deleterious effect on freshwater fish, estuarine organisms, wild birds or other wildlife", malaria is the number one killer of children in Africa.
Part of a telling quote from a National Park Service ecologist (Graber)..."Human happiness, and certainly human fecundity, are not as important as a wild and healthy planet. I know social scientistsd who remind me that people are part of nature, but it isn't true. Somewhere along the line--at about a billion years ago, maybe half that--we quit the contract and became a cancer. We have become a plague upon ourselves and upon the Earth."
Why, I'll bet we've become dismissive, even derisive. Let the self-loathing begin! Let's ignore the fact that carbon dioxide is the smallest gas in the atmosphere (4 parts in 10,000) and that the earth cooled by about 0.7C in 2007 and not consider any distinctions between global warming and manmade global warming. Therefore, the unassailable conclusion is that we can save the world if we just destroy America. Rock on, lemmings!
Lipstick,
I admire you so much! Hope that toe heals up for you. God bless you!:)
As a new C4P minstrel I would like to present a verse in a new song the "Al Gore ManBearPig is real I am super serial song":
So now Sarah is challenging Al Gore
who doesn't know the temperature of the earth's core
He thinks that Sarah is just another denier fool
but Palin says thats just plain bull
She believes that man is not responsible for global warming
Al wishes the aptly named SarahCuda would just start conforming
He obviously has pegged this women wrong
while Barney Frank says hey Al look at my thong!
Mel,
These pictures you post on the open threads are gorgeous! Thank you so much!
SARAH is On the Bob and Mark show right now!
Dear Nancy,
THANK YOU, thank you. You guys mean so much to me, especially since I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, and, therefore, feel and perceive, perhaps more than most, the diabolical hatred of the left for everything for which Our Sarah stands!
God bless!
Brianus
Thanks, OldDude!! Your penultimate paragraph sums up nicely the evil "philosophy" of these haters of God and man. It is not pride, but the simple truth, to say that WE are the glory of God's creation (along with the angels). God made the planet earth for US. He sent his Son to die for US.
God bless...and GO BEARS!!
Brianus
Here is more evidence that something is amiss in the PPP poll:
This is from PPP itself:
"Let's look at Obama's approval and favorabilities of Huckabee, Romney and Palin from our first 2012 poll conducted bakc in April and see how they match up now"
APR DEC NET SHIFT
OBAMA 53/41 49/47 -10
HUCKABE 42/34 35/35 -8
PALIN 42/49 41/50 -2
ROMNEY 40/35 32/36 -9
From PPP:
"These numbers suggest that AT LEAST PART OF OBAMA'S DECLINE IN POPULARITY can be attributed to a general dissatisfaction of voters with politicians now REGARDLESS OF THEIR PARTY."
Folks this assertion is rubbish. Anyone who understands the concept of the zero-sum game knows that if someone loses someone else stands to gain. What PPP has done is to somehow elevate the 'not sure' category consistently. (In contrast in Rasmussen's examination of the Big 3 he found Huck with 12% unsure, Palin with 5% unsure, and Mitt with 13% unsure with all GOP contenders in the 40's and Huck even at 58) There is no way that Huck should still have 30% UNSURE(especially after Clemmons) and Mitt 32% in that category, especially among Republicans and conservatives. What this tells me is that PPP is oversampling Democrats, moderate Democrats, and moderate independents.
And thus through PPP polling it is impossible to really gauge the intensity of the real opposition to Obama as Rasmussen is able to portray, which I think is one of the main purposes of the publication of the poll in the first place to create the narrative that Obama is no better or worse than other politicians.
The readers and posters at C4P know better.
Lipstick,
You will do great! I'll bet your first half time will be a heck of a lot better than mine. :) I'm slow and have short legs. I ran it in 2:24:03. My goal is to run a sub 2hour half marathon. My pace on my runs have gotten better since running this in April. I hope that translates into a better time when I run my next one, hopefully in the spring.
With your dedication and obvious love of running, you will do great!
Okay.. I lied.. she will back there tomorrow!
I am sure Mia will like the last line ;)

</p><p><span>"Breitbart TV’s B-cast interviews Bachmann, who brings listeners up to date on Barney Frank’s financial-reform legislation, which dropped on the House last week. It’s 1300 pages long, and the vote will be taken — today. It reorders the entire financial-services industry and vastly increases government control over it. Oh, and ACORN, too.</span>

<span>I know Sarah has a lot of irons in the fire but I think it deserves an Op-Ed by her in the WSJ to get this matter on American’s radar screen.</span></p>
Whitney you are the oracle of C4P :)
Oh my; Lord Monckton is quickly becoming a fav of mine. Check him out in this video, confronting a bunch of young progressive environmental activists. He repeatedly calls them Hitler Youth, and they are dumbfounded and offended! It's a great clip:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8WawButqIc
The tide may be turning, albeit, slowly, but nonetheless, it is turning against the Progressive movement.
What did she say?
So Bob and Mark may replay the interview in the next hour.. they usually do...as a time killer..
If they do...can someone record it?
They talked a lot about Alaska... and the book tour...and why she quit.. because Bob still does not get it!
