I believe she willl get a kick out of it, even though it might be too much to expect that she would take a photo of herself wearing it and send the photo!!
I know she is a Steelers (?) fan, but I know also that she loves sports memorabilia. I, for example, even though I hate the Steelers, would love receiving a Steelers jersey from a friend.

OK - Last night (sorry couldn't post) there was a thread of comments that dealt with some of our comments being placed on screen shots and posted by a troll. I noticed some were mine. My answer to that (and the trolls can screen shot this) is I do not give a rats a#$. This site has always allowed cordial disagreements between fellow barbarians. We are not robots like those leftist we are thinkers. Thinkers have varying viewpoints and discuss this. All the individuals that I had a varying viewpoint with I have the utmost respect for them (consider them friends) and their opinions. IF they came on here with an opinion (based on facts) different than mine I would do the same today. I will not change and to be honest that has always been the case at C4P. It is one of the things that I have enjoyed about C4P and was this way even when RAM was here. So to the trolls screenshot away. Shows why this site has better researched and smarter individuals than your robot troll site.

Others are fine minus try to do away with Dep of Education and let it be known that the overhead money lost in this black hole could better be used to hire more teachers. Sorry but Public Education in the US is totally broke and I am giving it a compliment. It is a slow moving bureacratic system that is failing all students. No Child left behind is more like every child left behind. My child is the textbook of why this system is broke. I have a child with a learning disability. In the public education system she was in the 2nd grade and reading at kindergarten level. It wasn't the teachers fault, they cared but the bureacracy did not allow her to go into a talent development program. At the public education rate she would have qualified in about the 5th grade. Due to the grace of god we were able to get her into a private schools talent development program. Her reading increased a grade and a half in 9 weeks and by next semester she will be reading at 3rd grade level while in the 3rd grade. The problem was easy to see. Public education is for the "average" child but anything out of the norms forget it. It is too bureacratic with too much overhead. Too many big salary individuals that don't teach and have no contact with the children. Go to the DOE and anybody there that does not directly teach a child fire them immediately. If they won't get rid of it then fire everybody but the SEC of Ed. Tell them due to the fact they go by the title Secretary they don't even get a Secretary.

Facebook update: 1,112,805 a gain of 2,800 since yesterday, and a total gain of of 117,805 since GR was released, and gain of approximately 560,000 since the resignation announcement on July 3rd.
GR is #2 at Amazon, #5 at B&N, #1 at Borders, #1 in non-fication at Books a Million, #1 in New Releases at Walmart, and Target. Sales still look very strong. Good post, PEC. As most of you know, I believe that the restoration of the study of Latin in our schools is essential to the restoration of education in our country.
There are so many reasons:
The knowledge of ENGLISH grammar that the study of Latin affords...
The creation of a bridge and bond between the "white" and Hispanic communities (Spanish is a direct descendant of Latin; English, even though it is technically a "Germanic" tongue (from Anglo-Saxon), draws heavily on Latin-based words)
The bond with our Founding Fathers, ALL of whom were rasied on Latin, were steeped in the classical tradition of Greece and Rome., and incorporated political ideas and ideals derived from Greece and Rome into our Constitution.
Anyway, I agree, education is a mess in this country: a counter-revolution is needed!!

I know but a lot of them like Bayh and Liebermann have no further prospects in their party, so plush cabinet appointments like State/Defense will be enticing.
Same for Liebermann n Mccain. Easiest way to remove them from senate is to offer them cabinet positions.
I know a lot of you don't like dept. of education but it's not gonna be repealed at least in the first term.
I think Sarah should use her mandate and usher in energy development legislation as the first big ticket item. As a new president she'll have the bully pulpit and she needs to use that for opening up lands for exploration and increase nuclear energy. Repeal cra, outlaw acorn and work on conservative financial reform. then work on deficits n dollar. reinstate the fighter jet bammy axed, restore missile defence. do the common sense thingy on health like tort reform, state competition etc. that should take care of first year. she should be opposite of George bush, quite bullish on domestic policy and somewhat relaxed on foreign policy. that's why i don't want foreign policy firebrands in her cabinet except a few. better outsource that to conservative/clintonian dems. work on bringin back manufacturing/blue collar jobs to america.
work on a mexico policy like the columbia policy, where trade/jobs will be diverted from china to mexico on an assumed condition that illegals would be going back to mexico. do the common sense things on immigration like building up the database of late arrivals etc.
Second term, work hard on some serious union-busting.
Once they start building nuclear plants, she should make it clear that a lot of the labor should be hired from american minorities like african americans n others rather than bring in new immigrants.
I do wish I didn't have to spend my mornings working. I think it's the best commenting time, and I just don't have enough focus to effectively do what I must and what I want!

Sarah has had a great month since the Going Rogue book tour commenced. I was fortunate to attend the Richland book signing. One thing I have noticed is that either she is driving the news cycle (Tonight Show, Gridiron appearance, Facebook postings) or the news media is driving their own stories and narratives about her (caps, alleged prejudices of an 18 year old college student in Hawaii). No matter what, they want a Sarah story.
A potenially effective way for Sarah to communicate would be a periodic (monthly or biweekly) YouTube video about the issues of the day or a message she wishes to send. The relaxed setting of the video she had when she visited Rev. Billy Graham was beautiful with the fireplace in the background and her seated. This was a much more effective visual than the Saturday weekly addresses of the President in which the camera is closed in on just his head.

work on a separate immigration quota for people who help the us in war time and remove this from state dept. to defense.
make sure more checks n balances are included against army prosecutors.
make sure the train wreck of international progressivism stops. she doesn't understand the impact of lost sea treaty. she should. encourage regional clubs and make sure the un stops growing and if possible reform the wretched thing.
bring in legislation to make sure any aid to un is accompanied by strict accounting checks.

I have a younger sister who was having terrible trouble in school...failing every subject......the school told my parents she was retarded....they actually used that term....so being the bookworm that I was I asked her to read to me........she could not read well and could not interpret the meaning of the sentences she had just read. So I took her to my second home...the public library...and helped her pick out some of my favorite books. We spent an entire summer reading books together and I had her just tell me the story of the book at intervals.....she got better with every book.....and the next year her grades went up and she maintained a B average from that point on. Lots of kids have trouble reading and lack the natural ability to interpret the words.........they need to be taught.....and that's where schools fail....I guess they are too busy teaching sex ed and global warming.

My child had trouble reading. We couldn't figure it out, went to Doctors, psychiatrist etc. Bottomline she visualizes and learns different. Example they do a spelling test and she can spell the word but when she writes it she mispells it (I know sounds weird). Public Education said she had trouble with math. No the problem was she couldn't read the question so she didn't know how to solve the problem. In private school, They were able to figure out how to get her to read her style. She reads clear now and understands. Heck the teacher believes she will be out of Talent Development soon and in the mainstream. As I said if your child is a cupcake, within the norms and it is a good public school fine, but if your child has a learning disability or is extremly bright then you need to suck it up and get them in a private school until the Public School system can unscrew itself. Well that said even an average student will learn better how to learn in a private school and not get a social agenda driving down their throat.

I am agianst this Copenhagen thing that deals with him being President not CinC. The military has nothing to do with Copenhagen outside of the fact people in the military dip a lot of Copenhagen (joke).

My iconclastic comment on the above post:
1) JD Longstreet from the South operates a patriotic blog called Insight on Freedom. He is the type of thoughtful, rational conservative that heretofore could not even think about supporting Sarah Palin. Obviously Sarah has had no trouble in gaining the loyalty of the 'Tea Party' passionate, angry types but we must realize not everybody on our side are Tea Party folks; many are traditional conservatives or Republicans who frankly are not into the "going rogue narrative" and who wrote Palin off several months ago or right after the McCain-Palin defeat in Nov 2008. And these folks are not elitists either. Folks like Longstreet don't stick their noses in the air-they are decent hard-working folks-but rationally choose not to waste their time focusing on fringe candidates or candidates that cannot win. There are hundreds of thousands or millions of folks on our side like this who feel this way. And many to about a month ago felt like Longstreet about Palin.
2) And although Longstreet doesn't mention it, Palin's rise in the polls has had a part to play in his 'change of heart'; yes he cites the sizzle of Democratic fear but let's get real-without the steak (improved Palin's F/UF) Longstreet could not have IMHO written the piece with such conviction.
3) And Longstreet's focus on the 'quitter' meme confirms my assertion all along that Sarah Palin will not attain FULL LEGITIMACY until she answers this question to the sufficiency of folks like Longstreet. And it further confirms even though her explanation for resigning was addressed by Palin in Going Rogue and a good first start to win over folks on the fence regarding her resignation, that more work still needs to be done in terms of interviews or a speech to take the "quitter meme" off the table as a reason not to support a Palin candidacy.
4) But the first step towards for one to now allow for the possibility of an explanation for the "quitter meme" is what I have often referred to a cognitive dissonance. Apparently in the near past Longstreet would not have even considered such a possibility. Now he does. I expect there are hundreds of thousands and maybe millions of conservative, Republicans and independent conservatives undergoing cognitive dissonance at present with Sarah Palin and I further believe it is driving many of them absolutely crazy in a good way juxtaposed with how unhinged the Far Left has become with Sarah Palin's Facebook posts from "death panels" to attacking Gore on climate change.
5) Longstreet obviously agrees with Rush Limbaugh's logic of 'check out who the Dems are going after and you'll know who they most fear'. As a rational man Longstreet can no longer deny the modern political reality.
6) Longstreet, like many political pundits viewed Palin through the prism of 'politics as usual' and I think his piece is symbolic of the recognition that the political landscape is changing faster than they thought it would (Obama's free fall and the Clemmons' clemency problem and Huckabee and Romney's continued poor showing in PPP polls with conservatives and Republicans and among those in the South). In politics it is not always a positive performance by Palin that attracts the honey but a negative performance or outcome of the opposition (Obama and his agenda).
7) In summary, I believe now that the thoughts of Longstreet are present throughout the four corners of America and that over the Christmas holidays many folks are going to start to reassess, if they have not already, their thoughts on Palin and enter deeper into cognitive dissonance. And these folks IMHO is what Palin is going to make a high priority to bring into her tent, and she will do that by continuing her [...]
