Instead of kids trying to be famous, the new craze will be trying to be irrelevant!
Palin Irrelevant!

Indemind,  December 5, 2009 12:58 PM

Yeah!  My biggest concern is that the sales curve for going rogue will be a spike, with a quick decline; the MSM will run with that; hope it's not the case!

Amanda K,  December 5, 2009 1:06 PM

Ordinary Irrelevant Barbarians.

JohnDoeAt30Below,  December 5, 2009 1:21 PM

Still Number 1 at Amazon, USA Today, WSJ, every list I can find.

I would bet sales stay strong at least through Christmas.

Emily (Jane Austen),  December 5, 2009 1:26 PM

Yea for right-wing consipracies!

Jesse Cornish,  December 5, 2009 1:31 PM

The fact that no one said this would happen makes it all the better.

Mia,  December 5, 2009 1:34 PM

...hehehe...Stupendo!

ellen,  December 5, 2009 1:37 PM

Thats what I said! My goal is to be at least half as irrelevant as Palin when I grow up!

ellen,  December 5, 2009 1:38 PM

They can spin it all they want. They have been spinning for over a year and Palin is still on top.

Who is irrelevant now?

GAHanson,  December 5, 2009 1:39 PM

The fact that Going Rogue is still #1 at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Borders, Books a Million, Hastings Books, WalMart and Target, I suspect that it will remain the #1 NYT bestseller at least for several weeks, and will remain somewhere on the list for quite some time after that.  I notice Ted Kennedy's True Compass is still on the list after 11 weeks, and it hasn't sold nearly as well as Going Rogue.  But, you're probably right, the LSM will make a big deal out of it when it drops below #1, and will make an even bigger deal when it eventually drops off the list altogether, which happens to every book.  I did a quick check, but couldn't find any info on how long Bill and Hillary Clinton's books had stayed on the bestseller list.

Recovering Democrat,  December 5, 2009 1:40 PM

I bet she sells more than 2.5 million...

Nancy,  December 5, 2009 2:06 PM

It must just torque off the left, that after more than a year of lies, smears, hoaxes, every kind of rumor and charge known to man, she is still standing. And not only standing, but more popular, stronger, and garnering more support, than she did when they first began trying to tear her down. Someone said in a comment the other day, she takes the fight to them, and that is just not done when the left has come after a Republican in the past. The left is used to attacking, and the Republican shrinking, not so, with Governor Palin. The over the top, unprecedented attacks are her, has only made her, and the support for her, stronger, and more passionate.
I don't think they realize the harm President Obama is doing to their message, coupled with the message of optimism and belief in the American people, that Governor Palin has.
The two messages are on opposite ends of a tug of war rope, and the rope is quickly being pulled to the side of commonsense, smaller government, and love for America.

someone answer this, how the hell can an EX-governor have a new ethics violation against them?

the AG will no doubt dismiss this, Sarah won't have to spend any money defending this.

But, I still don't understand, the woman is NOT a public elected official anymore, if this lunatic Andrea wants to sue, shouldn't she be suing Sarah herself (on what grounds, I have NO idea), but to file a ethics violations agn a governor that is not even in that office anymore?!?!?!?

what a load of BS!

GAHanson,  December 5, 2009 2:09 PM

This just in:  Picutre of Gov. Palin signing books in Fairfax VA

tim c,  December 5, 2009 2:13 PM

I think Sarah should sue mcloed for harassment or maybe just being stupid and vindictive or something.

jimr3,  December 5, 2009 2:15 PM

Great News!
Many congratulations Governor !!! :)

jimr3,  December 5, 2009 2:18 PM

Oh yes, that sound you hear are liberal heads exploding.

Nancy,  December 5, 2009 2:19 PM

First of all, she looks stunning with the Christmas lights behind her. The jacket is gorgeous.
I love the hat too.
She is adorable!

Mrs. Terry Johnson,  December 5, 2009 2:21 PM

WOW! Move over Racheal Welch!

jimr3,  December 5, 2009 2:22 PM

Well if they try to spin the book sales, I have two words for them....Platinum Baby !

Mia,  December 5, 2009 2:25 PM

GAHanson...Thank You!...WOW just WOW!!!!...BELLISSIMA!

JeanA,  December 5, 2009 2:26 PM

You have up to 2 years to file after the so call complaint happen.  If the nut things something happen on July 26, 2009 the nut job can wait until July 26, 2011 to file.

Mia,  December 5, 2009 2:28 PM

GAHanson...Thank You!...WOW just WOW!!!!...BELLISSIMA!!!!

JohnDoeAt30Below,  December 5, 2009 2:30 PM

I read somewhere that Bill sold 1.4 million and Hillary sold 1.3 million. Obama's 'Audacity of Bill Ayers' sold in the same range. Sarah is on track to sell almost double those numbers. And I would make a large wager that she has already started writing Book #2 which will be a substantive policy piece, a 'where do we go from here?' that will be released next July just in time for her to campaign in the fall elections. Book #3 could come out in Spring 2011 and deal with the challenges of raising a special needs child. Book 4? 'How I Will Govern as President,' Feb 2012.

JohnDoeAt30Below,  December 5, 2009 2:31 PM

Tim C, note that HuffPo and the rest got it wrong - again - and Palin was not named in this latest dopey complaint. Also note that the Personnel Board has ruled on this issue before and tossed it.

Indemind,  December 5, 2009 2:36 PM

 WOW!!!! She looks GREAT

sarah 2012

JeanA,  December 5, 2009 2:40 PM

I think the complaint is against Sarah's staff members and not Sarah.  Someone is paying this lady to request all those FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) records.  You have to pay for the FOIA's out of your own pocket and they can run you thousands and thousands of dollars.  It depends on how long it takes the staff to pull all the records together.  This woman is a nut case.  She is reading line from line and looking for anything to file a complaint against.

Gov. Palin should wear the hat to the dinner tonight.

Recovering Democrat,  December 5, 2009 2:52 PM

Speaking of book-writing, the Springfield Newsleader interviewed Sarah's dad while she was in town for the book signing. I don't have the online link, but I've retyped it from the newspaper that I bought:

Chuck Heath said his daughter spent the month of August writing the 432-page book, which he said was drawn from a collection of years of journals she has kept throughout her life.

"When she was writing her book, she was putting in 20-hour days, day after day, after day, after day, for over a month," Chuck Heath told the News-Leader. "People said, 'Well, she didn't write the book.' She wrote the book."

Recovering Democrat,  December 5, 2009 2:53 PM

Someone should file a complaint against McLeod on behalf of the state of Alaska.

Either that or try to get her committed.

DefCon66,  December 5, 2009 2:59 PM

George Soros is financing this campaign of smears and harassment on Sarah and her administration, this is all they have to fight her with but it's not working. Soros has very deep pockets though as we all know, but she's wealthy now too so she can fight it even more effectively. I cant wait for that Hungarian socialist to vapor lock and put him out of our nation's misery.

Beehive,  December 5, 2009 3:00 PM

JeanA

That is correct. It was filed against her staff members. Eight of them. Wow. This AM chick is really out there.

What a freakazoid.

Amanda K,  December 5, 2009 3:02 PM

How cute does she look in that hat?  Seriously!

yogi41,  December 5, 2009 3:02 PM

That's a great photo of her. But what's Romney doing in that slideshow? ;)

Mia,  December 5, 2009 3:03 PM

Indemind....through and through

bitterclinger,  December 5, 2009 3:04 PM

As a veteran of C4P through the endless ethics' charges brought against the gov., I believe I read (on this site) that ethics violations can be made against an Alaska gov up to TWO years after leaving office!

Amanda K,  December 5, 2009 3:06 PM

I think the real question is could Romney pull off that hat like she can?

bitterclinger,  December 5, 2009 3:08 PM

Sorry to wreck your day, but Soreass is just one of many in a billionaire's cabal working to take down the country.  Also, his moonbat kids are said to be just as bad as he is.

JeanA,  December 5, 2009 3:10 PM

Here is a record request for emails that the ADN received for Aug. 27, 2008.

Perhaps so but when parents finally kick off in rich, elitist families the sibilings tend to fight over the wealth, so they are distracted and can tear each other to pieces.

Robert_Paulson,  December 5, 2009 3:22 PM

It's documented fact that McLeod's working with the New York Times. The Times has a reporter who's been based in Alaska for years and he and McLeod have worked together on stories about Palin.

hrh,  December 5, 2009 3:22 PM

OT: but check this out

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/12/05/rules-change-for-typically-off-the-record-dinner/

For the first time, the GridIron Dinner is going to allow tweeting.

Could that have anything to do with the fact that Sarah Palin canNOT do a private event without a DOZEN people tweeting it for the outside world? Witness her College of the Ozarks speech just this week.

Ha Ha! Sarah's first time at this longstanding DC event - and she's already changing Washington! :)

Mary Beth (Über),  December 5, 2009 3:31 PM

I said it before and I'll say it again.

PLEASE LET THERE BE VIDEO!!!

What I wouldn't pay to see her in this setting.

Beehive,  December 5, 2009 3:31 PM

That would be so hilarious if the Guv started tweeting during the Dinner.

Do it Guv. Do it!!

Amanda K,  December 5, 2009 3:59 PM

Yes!  Do it! :)

eclecticak,  December 5, 2009 4:24 PM

I beleive the 'statute of limitations' for filing ethics complaints is two years.....

eclecticak,  December 5, 2009 4:27 PM

....and this complaint is against various of her gubanatorial staff for alledgedly being 'involved' in the campaign on the state's dime. A crock of Schmidtt all around.....

eclecticak,  December 5, 2009 4:31 PM

I wonder how many 'Sharpies' she has burned through signing books?

MORE 'Grassroots' stimulus!!!!!!!!!!!!!

;-)

eclecticak,  December 5, 2009 4:35 PM

I would LOVE to see her Tweet real-time her witty sarcastic take on BF and other speakers/attendees....

Mary Beth (Über),  December 5, 2009 4:40 PM

Bwahaha!  *Imagines tweets*

Palinized,  December 5, 2009 6:52 PM

Holy crap she looks so cute, I love that hat she has on. Awesome outfit, awesome photo. She's so cool.

juju,  December 5, 2009 7:44 PM

This is a complaint filed with the e-mails secured by Diva (I think) remember when she had the fund raiser to get $5,000 she needed to get the e-mails.  That is when this group of bloggers in AK. did the photo shop thing where they put the head of Eddie Burke on little Trig as something fun to raise money.  Are these people sick or what???
