Going Rogue in Montana and Colorado
Hundreds of people are braving freezing temperatures and snow in Montana and Colorado today for Going Rogue book signings.

If the cold was supposed to act as crowd control for Sarah Palin’s noon visit today, it wasn’t working Monday night.
By 9 p.m., with temperatures already well below zero, most of the small parking lot directly in front of Borders was filled with Palin fans ready to spend the night in their vehicles or — if it comes to it — on the sidewalk.

Brittany Basye and Melissa Ross drove over in their SUV from Bozeman to be here today.
“How many times to do you get a chance to see Sarah Palin?” Basye asked.
“She’s of the people,” Ross said.
The two said the cold was no deterrent. It anything, it was one more element to connect them with Palin.
“We’re like Alaskans,” Ross said.
Basye and Ross are mothers and they run a business together. In Palin, they see someone who represents their life experiences and who can relate to them as individuals.
Governor Palin will be in Colorado Springs tonight. Residents there are in the midst of a winter weather advisory. We have several readers and a contributor already in line in Colorado Springs, so we should have much more from there later today.

Going Rogue update:
GR, based on sales at B&N through Dec 7th, is now the 4th best selling book, up from #5 last week. It is now right behind Liberty and Tyranny which has been out since March.
Meanwhile, David Plouffe's book is #154 at Amazon and #448 at B&N. Both outlets have shown a surge in sales so far today. At 8am it was #162 and #566 respectively. So, it looks like Plouffe's pathetic plea for people to buy his book (and make him some money) has paid off, but it doesn't look like it will come anywhere near knocking GR out of FIRST place, even for an hour. I'll keep watching, and keep everyone posted of any big changes during the day.
I don't think it is funny what the person did. I hope the person spends a quite a bit of time behind bars for assaulting a police officer. I believe this just shows the type of people that support Obama.
UPDATE: Today, I got as far west as Russell, KS, home Bob Dole (and Arlen Specter lived here too). I couldn't push further due to snow so I will miss the Colorado Springs book signing. Tomorrow morning, if I can dig my car out of the snow in the restaurant parking lot nearby, I'll go back east to I-35, head south and pick up I-40 west to Vegas. The Sapwolf loses the scent of the elusive Sarahcuda. However, if she stops in CA, maybe I can pick up her caravan's trail there.
For those who can make it to CO and MT signings, have fun and let us know what happened. Be on the lookout for flying vegetables.
Isn't it funny how the LSM "reports" the Tomato attack story on Governor Palin. All in good fun and sarcasm, no big deal. Thank God the Governor has good security and I know it will be ramped up even more.
If this were Obama, the following would occur:
1) Nancy Pelosi would be calling for an investigation and Congressional hearings.
2) If the Tomato was a bit off color with a yellowish tint, Harry Reid would proclaim this was another form of slavery against a black man and the Tomato must be a Republican.
3) Axelrod, Plouffe, Jarrett, Gibbs, and Emmanuel would be hitting the media circuit and proclaim this was an unfortunate situation and milk it for all its worth.
4) Chris Matthews would be on a respirator and heart monitor.
5) The entire MSNBC crew would wear black until the Tomato attacker was brought to justice.
6) Eric Holder would bring the Terrorist Attack Tomato Assailant to NYC for the trial.
And last but not least....
7) Mike Huckabee would grant the Tomato attacker clemency.
Don't promote his scam but (and I am not an expert) I believe once you get past the top 50 or so 30 or 40 books can swing a climb from 162 to 154. In fact past the top 10 or so the drop off is fairly dramatic I believe.

This is OT but I was in Kroger today and I saw that book called Barack and Michelle by that Chris Anderson guy, this is the book that says Bill Ayers wrote Dreams from My Father, well I did the Washington insider reading of the book and looked in the index to see if it said anything about Sarah Palin, I was lucky on pages 275-276, and 277, it said that people inside the Obama campaign were delighted in Bristol's pregnancy because they could use it against Sarah, the book said Michelle didn't feel that way and had sympathy for Sarah because she had heard she was raising a Down Syndrome Child, she told Barack to come out with the statement that Obama did defending Sarah and Bristol, the next line of the book was that there were a lot of phone calls between Barack and Michelle, Michelle stating that she was fascinated by this woman, I have a poll question, Do any of you think this is believable? I know its hard to comprehend Michelle Obama being a decent person but younever know tell me what you think

You know, I actually think Michelle understands what it feels like to be Sarah Palin. Sarah's family was not wealthy, she worked hard to get to where she was against odds. She's also been looked down upon by the elites. It's probably not a lot different from the way Michelle felt she's been treated growing up poor and a minority. Sarah is also everything the Obamas *think* they are, but aren't really.
Politics is a complex game. You don't want your opponent to defeat you, but what if you actually admires them somewhat? I honestly don't think the Obamas hate Sarah, they just don't want her to win.
Sarah has already said that she apposes a third party. All this "third party" talk is just a way of scaring the GOP into doing what's right.

I just took out Patton's autobiography from the library, it was put together by his wife, it is called War as I Knew It, I think it is a must read, after you finish GR of course, but he was really ahead of his time he seemed to know that many decades in the future that we would be having a lot of problems in the Middle East

I'm sorry, but if she was an idiot, she wouldn't have been elected Govenor against other supposedly smart individuals. Did you know that her teleprompter broke in the middle of her convention speech at the Republican National Convention, and she still did a superb job from memory? Of course I am biased because I have followed her career and know what she has done which I agree with. I don't believe everything I hear, I look at their actions. She walks the walk. She has done a lot of great things when she was Mayor and Gov. for Alaska. She is a great Christian actually, any non-Christian really would have aborted her baby with Down's syndrome, even some conservatives do. 90% on Down's children are aborted which is a shame. She never backs down about her faith and isn't afraid of what she believes in, and she believe God created us, and isn't afraid to say so. She doesn't scare me whatsoever. I am conservative politically, and I believe in her policies. That is why I like her. If she scares you, then I should scare you which I hope I don't. This is why I like her, and this is why she is my favorite politician today. I admire her and wish I could be as bold as she can be, especially about her faith.

I have a lot of liberal relatives as well Diedre, on Thanksgiving day my cousin Jason and I got to talking about Obama and he was just spitting out talking points, "worst crisis since great depression, healtcare reform, hope & change, we have to spend a lot of money, blah,blah,blah," I tried to set him straight on some stuff to no avail, he got onto Sarah (he doesn't know I support her) said she should never be anywhere near national office and she should stick to Alaska, I told him the media should not have went after her kids they were not running for anything, he said thats the nature of politics your life is scrutinized, I then explained her pipeline deal in Alaska didn't say anything to that, he then said God forbid if she gets elected president, I said very casually you won't have to worry about that happening but in my head I was saying yes you will! I didn;t continue the conversation because I didn't want an argument on Thanksgiving, I also found out he is an avid watcher of MSNBC

That is a great Idea. I might just do that. Here is what I have so far for the e-mail.
That's ok. We can agree to disagree right? As for her smartness, I believe she is plenty smart. I'm sorry, but if she wasn't smart and didn't have good ideas that people believe in, she wouldn't have been elected mayor or governor against other supposedly smart individuals. Did you know that her teleprompter broke in the middle of her convention speech at the Republican National Convention, and she still did a superb job from memory? Not that that makes you smart, but it certainly doesn't make you an idiot. Did you know that her administration, out of any other previous governors of the state, was able to work a deal to build a natural gas pipeline. She negotiated contracts with big oil companies and was able to get the best deal for her state and now this pipeline will bring natural gas to the lower 48 states to make us more energy independent, which no other previous administrations were able to accomplish, although they said they were "working on it." Did you know that her and her husband were small business owners and have more experience about running a business than most in the White House? Did you also know when she was on the board for Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, she stepped down because she found corruption within the board and wouldn't stand for the corruption and what was happening behind the scenes and the lying that was going on. Did you also know that when she was govenor, she cut the states budget by a billion dollars every year (you never see that anymore)?
Of course I am biased because I have followed her career and know what she has done which I agree with. I don't believe everything I hear, I look at their actions. She walks the walk. She has done a lot of great things when she was Mayor and Gov. for Alaska. She is a great Christian actually, any non-Christian really would have aborted her baby with Down's syndrome, even some conservatives abort Down's children as 90% of Down's children are aborted which is a shame. She never backs down about her faith and isn't afraid of what she believes in, and she believe God created us and isn't afraid to say so. She doesn't scare me whatsoever. I am conservative politically, and I believe in her policies. I don't scare you do I? Her beliefs are like mine. This is why I like her, and this is why she is my favorite politician today. I admire her and wish I could be as bold as she can be, especially about her faith when today you have to be so "politically correct" about religion and politics.
I actually have an extra book as I didn't know I had to buy a book specifically from Barnes and Nobel to get a signature. If you are willing to read it, I would love to send it to you! If you're not interested in reading it, then I completely understand.
I love you too, Aunt Pat. Perhaps you disagree with what I believe, but I have to stand up for what I believe, which I'm sure you agree with :)

I've heard Father Sirico use it. Arroyo uses it constantly too. It's a good, short descriptive word that nutshells conservatism, although for many reasons the Pope can't come out and say he's a "conservative". I don't think Rev. Graham ever has either for the same reasons. Sarah should explain what it means and use it! All conservatives should.
Thing about the pope is that he lived under THE statist government of all statist governments--the Nazis. He knows from experience what it ALWAYS leads to. Sarah knows it instinctively. She fought against it tooth and nail as Guv and she's going to run against it with a vengance.
I dont believe it for a second, that is a fluff book about Barry to make him look more humane and Michelle starting to care about someone other than herself and her kids is contrary to what we've seen from her thus far.

Well they interviewed the head of Iowa Public Radio, or some such, and they said they complained she didn't do a rally, that they felt slighted. I guess I'm not surprised by anything really anymore, except possibly an Op Ed by Stanley Fish.
Saw earlier. Not really worth going to that site. The site is really pretty bad and that is complimenting it. Right now positive to negative Sarah news is up to over 50% positive easily. Maybe 60-40 and that is with a hostile press corps. Yet if you were to go to ADN they would highlight articles from Huff Post, Shannyn Moore etc.
I'd rather that they were dropped off on Kodiak Island without weapons in the fall as the bears are fattening up for the winter. They claim to care about the environment and animals let them prove it.

That lady from Iowa on GVS last night definitely seemed upset that the Governor wasn't campaigning or building things up in Iowa. I don't understand her problem. Sarah is on a BOOK tour, and she hasn't declared that she is running. I don't know how earlier people start building things for a potential run or how soon they test the waters, but it's not as if Sarah owed that lady anything. If Sarah runs, I'm sure she will get things together when she seems it is fit to do so. Also, who knows what Sarah may have done to build things. This lady worked for public radio, she is likely not privy to all of the details. Sarah also spent time visiting the soldiers at Walter Reed making her late to Iowa. What priorities! :)

It is sunny and 37 degrees here now, but best of all, we only had to stand out in the cold for half an hour, this morning!:) We were allowed to wait in the mall from 6:30-10:00, when they handed out the wristbands! We had lunch, shopped, and were going to go to a movie, at the theatre inside the mall, but none were appropriate for my daughters. Now, my girls are watching a movie in the back of our Suburban (middle finger to Obama!), and I am listening to Rush and talking to you guys! Bestbud is hanging out in the mall. Cruela is at a meeting, and Firelight will show up later.

We all can't be at these signings but from the beginning the C4Pers that have been there have allowed us all to enjoy the moment through you all. I am glad that several have got together and put faces to names and saw family etc. Look forward to the write up. Obscure Alaska Gov. who has LOTS of potential so I looked her up and thought "WOW that would be soooo MAVERICK of McKook if he did something so bold!
