Going Rogue in South Dakota; Updated

Last night, Governor Palin was in Sioux Falls, South Dakota for a book signing at Barnes & Noble. C4P Reader Janne Myrdal was there and provided us with the following report:

It is 1:45 am and I just returned home to NE North Dakota (460 miles one way) after seeing Governor Palin at Sioux Falls, SD. I joined brave Dakotans and also folks from MN, IA and NE in the 13 degree weather. Some camped out all night outside Barnes and Nobles while we arrived at 4am Sunday to stand in line for wristbands. Cold for sure, but heart warming to see the hundreds of people who braved the coldest temps yet for a Palin book signing!! Dakotans and Alaskans are tough!! We had a great time visiting with fellow conservative mid westerners. Barnes and Nobles did an awesome job of organizing and keeping everyone happy. Thanks.

Governor Palin arrived about an hour early, coming from IA, and the crowd went pretty wild, well at least for this part of the country! I was astounded at how full of energy, focus and cheer the Governor was and for the personal attention she showed each of us! I spoke with her for a while, and then she greeted my 13 year old son with great interest and conversation! What a blessing to this mom for sure! How she can do it with such sincere interest and intensity is a wonder to me!! Day after day! It would be like having a family reunion with a thousand relatives for weeks on end!! Yikes! She is truly beautiful, and that beauty comes from her heart and faith! We told her that common sense people out here love her and asked her to "keep on keeping on" as her "team" is all behind her. Todd and Trig was there as well, and we were blessed by Chuck and Sally Heath greeting warmly each and every person! I told Palin's dad that "he sure raised a hell of a gal!" and his response was to point to Sally Heath and say: "no, her mom did!” We hugged and thanked Mrs. Heath and told her we were praying for them all! They were extremely gracious! I came away with a strong sense that Chuck Heath is darn proud of his girl!! What a family unit, inspiring to us all!! It was worth every mile to be there, and worth the temporary cold toes and nose to wait for her! North Dakota 4 Palin!

There is much more on the Sioux Falls event here and here. You can also find video here and here. Governor Palin will be in Bloomington, Minnesota today at the Mall of America Barnes & Noble. Be sure to dress warmly.

Update by Doug: Below is a picture of Janne Myrdal (right) and her friend, Linda Schauer standing outside in the cold at 4:00 AM Sunday. The book signing didn't begin until 5:00 PM.

I repeat myself, but techno says that is good.

We are seeing a revival in the United States, and dare I say, the world, though worldwide it is nascent.

It is a revival of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

and Sarah is God's catalyst.<span> </span>

Bill: she is our Esther:<span>Beliefnet blogger Steve Waldman digs deeper and catches the parallels in Palin's language the other day when she said in reference to her political future, "If I die, I die."</span>
<span>
<p>Noted Waldman: "When I first heard this I assumed this language was designed to feed the Christian sense of persecution. Turns out it's even more Biblically resonant than that. Esther 4:15: "When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish."

That one picture of Sarah (I saw it on your twitter) in Fairfax with the Christmas tree behind her is one for the ages.  Don't know who took it but it is the best picture of the Guv I have ever seen.  I have said many times I am for the guv for her governing style, values, policies etc. but we would all be kidding ourselves if we did not say she is a beautiful woman (outside and inside) with a beautiful family (outside and inside).  I have heard many say she looks better in person but the picutre in front of the tree may be impossible.

Yikes he's going over to the FCC in order to work with Genakowski and Lloyd, in order to fix the internet, now who's the greater fool

panchita, yes, I have heard and know the reference to Esther's boldness and courage.

I also have seen the video, "Sarah, modern day Esther" (and I've catalogued it)

PEC, I added the picture of Sarah with the Christmas tree to my web site, gazing at RR.

yes, the is a pic for the ages, but that one and my avatar have to be in the top 3.

Click the link, why he's leaving beliefnet, he's going to work with those Free Press people that they seeded at the FCC, who despise private media,

narciso, ok, but you have to help out a little bit with a reference, the link above you has nothing to do with beliefnet, so I had no comment for your reference.

It's the Free Press media project, head by McChesney a confirmed Marxist, that Seton Motley of Newsbuster has pointed out on Beck. Steve may have his heart in the right place, but no good can come of this

Doug linked to a Sioux Falls tv website whose article mentions that Sarah's high school basketball and track teammate drove 10 hours from ND to attend and surprise Sarah.

The "keloland" site also has this video (though not prominently displayed) which has the interview with Sarah's teammate.  Well worth seeing:
