Joseph C. Phillips: The Sarah Palin Thing
Via Joseph C. Phillips at Big Hollywood:
If indeed former Alaska Governor and Vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin is the joke the new left claims her to be, one wonders why they don’t simply ignore her. On the contrary, they devote an unusual amount of energy into making her the butt of their jokes and seeking every opportunity to discredit her and cover her with political dirt. The Associated Press for example assigned 11 reporters to fact-check her new book “Going Rogue.” The AP assigned exactly 2 reporters to read through the more than 4 thousand pages of the Obama healthcare bills. So much attention seems to belie the New Lefts claims that Palin is a light-weight– not worthy of our respect or attention.
Such a focus of energies seems a tacit acknowledgement that Palin and the principles she represents are a force to be reckoned with.
[...]
Witness Democratic Party leader Howard Dean recently standing before a group of French journalists extolling the virtues of this president. According to Dean the battle between socialism and capitalism has been settled. (I will give you 3 guesses which side he believes won.) It is Dean’s belief that our current President and the party he represents understands that American benevolence demands socialist policy. The question therefore is no longer whether or not we will have socialism, but how much socialism we will have. Dean is proud of the Democrat party for its political clarity.
The problem for Dean and the rest of the new left is that Americans tend to have an independent streak that leads them to largely reject the idea of a centralized intelligentsia deciding how best they should live their lives. Palin represents the American individualist that says, “I know what is best for my family and what is in agreement with my faith. I would rather do things my way.” The administrative state is incompatible with such independence and can only thrive by stamping it out.
Palin and those that root for her may not have graduated from Harvard, but they are smart enough to know that Howard Dean is wrong and Ronald Reagan was correct when he said the question was one of moving “Up to man’s age-old dream-the maximum of individual freedom consistent with order or down to the ant heap of totalitarianism.” We are indeed bright enough to know that just as there was no moral good in slavery, there is nothing benevolent about socialism. The barbed wire around socialist utopias is there to keep people in – to force them (in the name of liberty) to do what the intellectuals say to do.
It is not Palin’s grit, her good looks or her “you betcha” small town persona that drives the new left to distraction. Rather it is her elementary ability to recognize the danger in putting too much trust in the smart guys– especially when their solutions require that we place our liberties at their disposal. “Palinism” is not a rejection of intellect; it is however, to say in no uncertain terms that some of us regular folk might just know a bit more about how to run our lives and this country than a room filled with Ivy educated czars.

Great article. Some writers are really beginning to understand it.
It should be noted that Ivy is a harmful plant that latches onto an existing structure, and will eventually lead to deterioration and crumbling of the structure that it covers, which is pretty much what our Ivy Leaguers have done to the country.
Listen to Phillips, he knows what he's talking about. =)
ACORN 2012 ???

Hello all! I've been watching and reading for 3 wks, trying to figure out how to get on here and post,,,,,Duhhhhhhhhh
Love you guys, your a hoot! Nancy, Cruela, Lipstick, Mia, and everyone else. LOTS OF LAUGHS! Sarah should have had you guys write her Gridiron speach for her, it would have been even FUNNIER! Techno, where would this site be without a guy like you with the numbers, Love it!
They really need a chat room. I emailed the tips dept and suggested to them. Team Sarah has a great chat room as well.
Here is a link from another article, I thought worth posting again. Many people have said this as well.

I hope I can post some more if I can remember how I did this!
Any suggestions on a quick way to post on pages would be helpful.
I don't kow why it says guest. I'm Beefl from Florida.
Seriously, they are no smarter than you or I.
Beefl,
Welcome !
Keep trying on the guest thing, most people get it eventually.

What was Sarah's quote on Rush re: 3rd Party.
Amen.
Hey Bill,
My husband and I are from Annapolis. His grandmother lives in Baltimore. I think of back home when I see you post! Dad is in Delaware. Brother in Frederick. Don't miss the cold though, brrrrrr.
I don't think 3rd party is the way to go. It will dilute REPs party and give obama a greater chance of keeping his title. Back to our roots, I say!
Test, 123
Excellent!
Howard Dean is crazy as a bedbug. Everytime he says anything, all I seen to be able to hear is that silly scream he emitted during his campaign.
The fact that we have so many socialists, marxists, communists, and just plain old criminals openly sticking their thumb in our eyes everyday is astoundingly creepy.
I feel like the progressives all used Orwells book "1984" and used it as a text book instead of a work of fiction.
I guess it is a game to them and it and we are being forced to play.
Lets hope that they land on "Go To Jail, Do Not Pass Go, and Do Not Collect Anymore of My Childrens Future" soon.
GO Sarah!!!
Welcome, Beefl. To the right of your avatar you should be able to override "Guest" by typing in your screen name (I think).
If the GOP continues to ignore it's bases response, then sadly a third party may be an option, I think that was just a volley she fired off to keep them on their toes, but considering that both her husband and her son are independents, who really knows. Actually this is the blueprint that they are following; http://newsrealblog.com/2009/12/09/ex-con-robert-creamer-designed-leftist-blueprint/
I think that worked! Hey, I'm getting the hang of this. Thanks so much!
RE: Sarah and a third party -- she addressed this very issue in the interview she did with Rush for the December issue of The Limbaugh Letter.
Rush quotes a passage from her book stating that she was a registered Republican and believes in the principles of the Republican party. Then Rush asks, "Therefore, do you worry about the rumblings that I'm hearing about going to a third party and abandoning the GOP?"
Palin: "That's not a practical thing, I think, to consider. And maybe it will disappoint some people to hear that from me. But I believe we should hold out that hope in our own GOP and understand that, again, if the principles are just applied and lived out, the Party is going to be fine. We don't have to go third party. As you mentioned, though, I'm not obsessively partisian. To me, an obessive partisan is someone who will go with the flow, who will scratch backs that are disagreeable in order ot go along to get along. I'm just not wired that way; I can't do it. But certainly I'm proud to be a Republican. Been a Republican since I registered to vote when I was 18, and I truly, sincerely believe that, yes, the planks in the platform are best to build our country

PALINISM!
She's bigger than the Republican Party now. They dance to her tune and they know it (although they won't admit it). She owns them. Why go 3rd except to sell books for Book a Week Beck?
The Repubs have some good people coming in now. Even if they're not, Repub candidates up for election/re-election are scrambling to be known as Conservative. The Party's hers and her model's Reagan. She'll meet with resistance that the MSM will play up, but she'll crush them.
What's pathetic/dangerous is how inept/castrated the Repub Party is now. They're handed opportunity after opportunity to drive the Left into the ground and they miss them all. Dean's statement is another example. Here's a guy with a wolfman underbite--as unlikeable as Sarah's likeable--a deranged hateful little rat, and the Repubs say....Nothing. It's still hale fellow well met crap with them. She's got to (and will) change that with the help of Repubs like Michelle Bachmann, Marsha Blackburn and hopefully Liz Cheney. Unless Rubio gets in, I'm ashamed to be a guy.
Welcome, BeeFL. Glad to have you here.
Guest, you must be a young 'in, ha ha.
I don't think of myself as a Marylander, sorry (too liberal)
I think of myself as a Pennsylvania, but that's getting to be shameful too (Ed Rendell, puke my guts out)
thank you guest !
BC, great ! Thanks.
Agree. On a different post did you see the Female Repub that is running against Bennett in Utah? If she can get in it would be another good one.
This is a great post!
"Such a focus of energies seems a tacit acknowledgement that Palin and the principles she represents are a force to be reckoned with."
Indeed Mr. Phillips!! They keep trying to diminish her though...have they ever worked so hard and failed so miserably?
The elites vs Palin = no contest.
