Michelle, meet Sarah. Sarah, meet Michelle.
I was lucky enough to be at the right place in line at the Colorado Springs book signing tonight (which I will share later on) to briefly speak with Michelle Malkin. She was behind me and my group, as we were all waiting to speak with Sarah Palin and get a book signed. It was a great moment! I told her that Hot Air is one of my favorite websites, along with Conservatives4Palin, of course. She also had her beautiful family with her, and her children were so cute.
Governor Palin tweeted about this just a few minutes ago:
Thrilled 2 meet Michelle Malkin&her beautiful family in Colorado Springs, along w/a couple thousand more fine locals;thank you CO!On 2 Nevada
As you can tell, the respect is mutual. Michelle blogged about the experience on her site tonight:
My family and I had the great honor and pleasure of meeting the governor, her husband Todd, adorable baby Trig, her lovely parents, relatives, and friends from near and far. Sarah’s energy is boundless and her ability to connect is unparalleled with any public figure I’ve met in covering politics over the last 17 years.
[...]
The governor and I talked briefly about Copenhagen, left-wing attacks on conservative politicians (Michele Bachmann is the latest target of specious ethics complaints), and the blessings of living outside the Beltway. Most of all, I’m glad I got a chance to simply say “Thank you” in person — for her strong conservative voice, for her relentless optimism in the face of unrelenting attacks, and for her public service as a defender of life and advocate of the American dream.
Please go to Michelle's blog to read the rest of the piece, along with photos of her and the Governor.

Well, that removes all my unfounded doubts as to where MM stands. Very glad she's with the Guv. APdit's fixation was the only thing that made me wonder. Glad that's cleared up because MM's great. Sarah's got basically all the players I wanted to see in her corner with her. She's got the Conservative Movement!
For a minute I thought the headline referred to another Michele. Now THAT I'd like to see! I say Sarah could take her.
Great post Julie! You must have had a ball! Thanks.
Julie, I'm glad you got to meet the Governor as well! :)
Read the whole article everyone! It's very good. Malkin calls snow "goreflakes". I'm telling you that sarcasm is one of the key planks in the conservative women platform.
Julie,
Thank you for that post!
I saw Michelle in line behind us, I should have looked more closely at the people in front of her!:)
I was thinking the same thing!!
hmm wondering who's gonna be the next celebrity we'll gonna see in the line?
I like Michelle Malkin..she is a good person, solid conservative, dont let the AllahPundit fool get you down, Michelle is a great person. If anyone understands what its like to be constantly attacked like Sarah has, its Michelle Malkin and Michele Bachmann
Great meet...conservatism on the ascendency.
Speaking of Michelle's, anyone know how it went last night at the fundraiser with Michelle Bachman and Sarah?
Nice report MM.
(I know one person who detests MM. He loves Hugo Chavez, so MM should consider it a compliment.)

This is a secret so don't tell.
The David Gelbaum family who made a fortune a a hedge fund manager (I won't even speculate about the people who had the money before he "made" the money.) will not make its ACLU annual donation of a score of million dollars.
Bur, don't tell. It is a secret.
Alas, other scoundrels have given some to replace that money.
But, that means that those scoundrels have less money to cause mischief in other ways.

Be sure not to tell. It is a secret - like the climategate data.
"<span>“This family, that has sought to protect its privacy by arranging its gifts anonymously, notified us last month that due to market conditions it will be unable to make its expected sizable donations of over $20 million,” Mr. Romero said.</span>
<span>
A.C.L.U. board members, who insisted on anonymity because the loss of the gift was reported in an executive session of their meeting, identified the donor
..."
Shhhhh It is a secret.
"<span>Mr. Gelbaum began contributing $50,000 or so annually to the A.C.L.U. in the early 1980s and kept increasing his gifts, to $22.5 million in 2008, board members said.</span>
<span>
The only condition he placed on the gifts was that he remain anonymous..."
</span></span>
more
...
"<span>Mr. Romero told the board that the donor had also stopped giving to three “sister organizations,” a phrase board members said he had used in the past to describe other groups with which the A.C.L.U. has collaborated, like the Sierra Club.</span>
<span>
Mr. Gelbaum took a rare turn in the spotlight earlier this decade when environmental activists said he was behind the Sierra Club’s decision to adopt a neutral stance onimmigration. Some people believe immigration has aggravated environmental problems.
He had given the organization a total of $101.5 million, according to The Los Angeles Times, which wrote what is perhaps the only major profile of him, in 2004. In the article, he is quoted as saying that he told Carl Pope, the Sierra Club’s executive director, in 1994 or 1995 “that if they ever came out anti-immigration, they would never get a dollar from me.”
Last year, The News-Gazette in Southern Illinois wrote an article about an investment Mr. Gelbaum made in a tiny company with a product that potentially improved the efficiency of solar cells. The agreement apparently fell through, however, because five months later, he sued the company for failing to repay his $9.1 million investment. The suit was settled last fall.
Munir H. Nayfeh, the founder of the company and a physics professor at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, said that there was no sign that Mr. Gelbaum had financial troubles in mid-2008 and that their deal fell apart because it raised potential conflicts of interest under Illinois law between the company and the state university."
</span>
I would name David Gelbaum if I could, but I am sworn to secrecy.
Thanks Julie for the Post!! It is so great that Michelle met Sarah!!
Super that there was a great turnout!!! I thought that Boulder Colorado was one of the bastions of Liberalisim!
This was Colorado Springs, a bastion of conservatism.
I hadn't seen a number. Impressive. Did we win the biggest crowd of the tour crown?

This is good comedy. Hey, Hanson, read Going Rogue. The party did not make Sarah. Sarah might make the party if you are really really nice about it.
When Gov. Palin was picked for VP, her name was not mentioned on the AK Republican website. Read Going Rogue to find out who the chairman was and why her name was omitted.
Sarah fought corruption. Sarah fought the Republican good old boys. Is there a correlation? You betcha.

" <span>"I feel bad for people who may go and many not have a chance to get their book signed," says Dave Hansen, chairman of the Utah Republican Party.</span>
<span>
<p>Hansen says he's been trying to get Palin to do something for the party, but hasn't received a call back.
</p><p>"It's a little disheartening," he says. "The Republicans are the ones who made her, and it would be nice if she was going to do something for us."
</p><p>Still, Hansen says it's nice whenever a Republican star comes to Utah, though he feels it's still Mitt Romney's state.
</p><p>"Mitt Romney is still the king out here, and I don't see that changing from a trip to Costco from one candidate," Hansen says. "

Thanks Julie...Nice to see the Love, Sarah and Michelle.

Thanks for finding the links, YM.
7000?!
Wow.
I guess that means that I was 1/7000th of the crowd. ;-)
That store has a pallet with a few hundred copies of Going Rogue out in a pretty visible spot, in addition to a row on the hardback table. They seem to be selling since the stacks are not full.
Before the signing, they had 7 pallets. Thousands of Rogues.

<span>Nancy.. you are in one of those videos from KKTV...I will leave it up to you whether or not you

Ohhh.. and Firelight too!...LOL
The Republicans made her? Is that UT GOP head punch drunk? The AK GOP hates her. They still do to this day. She is self made.
I wonder how many people would have camped out overnight in St. Lake City for a Mitt Romney book signing? They may think he is king there in Utah, but Gov. Palin will be a very strong competator.
Nooooo, that was my other self.
oops anc=and
Michelle Malkin & Sarah Palin going rogue in CO? Now that's just too much pretty, smarts, and steel spine in one place. ;-)
"The Republicans are the ones who made her (life miserable)."
This guy is delusional. Even moreso if he thinks Mittens is going to outdo the 'Cuda, even in Utah.
Doesn't Frank Murkowski live in Utah now?
Zero
He lives in Park City Utah. Or at least he has a house there,
Malkin likes Sarah. I just dont like how malkin employs loser pundit, but hey thats me.
That's okay.:)
Hey everyone!
Just wanted to let u know what a thrill to be in Colorado book signing and now in

Best part meeting up with THE ONE AND ONLY NANCY!...her two most cute girls in the world and a mom to behold... Representing faith, family and country at it's best... Also the crazy Criela
I told you guys that were dumping on Michelle a while back. Michelle and Sarah are cut from the same cloth in many ways. I have been a big fan of Michelle Malkin for years, registered at her site when the comments were first opened. She doesn't post on Sarah on a frequent basis, because her focus is elsewhere (like Obama and the media), but when she does she always has backed the Gov strongly. As Rush likes to say, "Don't doubt me". lol
We will see how far down the chain "Romneyville" goes. The actual Republican voters, along with some indies and even Democrats, in Utah might have a different perspective than the "GOP head guy". That is turning out to be the case an awful lot lately, isn't it?
Colorado Springs is the home of the Air Force Academy. They have a football team called the "Falcons".
Sarah is not worried about Allahpundit. I'm not either really. When the obvious becomes inevitable, he will be on the train. It will take him a while to come down off his high horse of skepticism, but he will come around eventually. I'm sure of it. Even Ed"T-Paw" Morrisey is thawing to the 'Cuda since he declared her "finished" on July 3rd. Patience, my dear, patience.
Sounds like a good time was had by all. What a bonus that Michelle Malkin came and brought her family, and took the time to talk with people waiting in line. That is pretty cool. I wonder if Michelle brought Sarah a signed copy of Culture of Corruption? I hope she did, Sarah would appreciate that.
Well said Lipstick.
This idiot Gop head was just on the local news a minute ago. He says running around on a book tour like a rock star isn't helping the Repub party and it doesn't look presidential. He was whining and slamming the Guv. Everything that came out of his mouth was junk.
And of course he had the big liberal reporter inteviewing him egging him on. Jerk.
Why don't they listen to the people who are standing in line and being interviewed. They don't want Mitt or any of your Rino candidates.
Can you believe this weasel. Good grief. Wake up. This is a book tour. Get a clue you big freak-a-zoid.
bestbud,
You typed it exactly as I wrote it down for you! Great job!:)
It was such a privilege and honor to meet you and spend quality time with you! To sit at lunch and get to talk about one of our favorite subjects, Governor Palin, was a wonderful experience! You are a sweet, sweet man! I loved hearing about your family, and your sweet doggy, and how you and your wife were ice skaters, and you played hockey, (my daughters loved that!), and seeing your pictures from College of the Ozarks.
To get to spend time with you will always be a cherished memory! You are a great ambassador for Governor Palin and C4P!
I loved getting to meet Cruela and Firelight too! What an exciting, never to be forgotten time we had together! I look forward to spending more time with them in the future!:) Firelight!:)
