"...perchance to dream...."

Living here in the UK I was unable to attend any of the book signings but I have enjoyed reading both the book and all the posts by my very lucky C4P colleagues. (Note to the Governor - please please please come across the pond soon...)

Not sure of it's provenance but a friend sent this pic to me and it seemed to sum up the spirit of the tour so I could not resist thinking up a caption.

Any other suggestions?

BTW...apologies in advance for the absence of any attribution - will happily post one if information can be passed on.

Boy, I know that feeling!  About 4am.

After the excitement of being in line has worn off.
And after you have met all of your fellow line-mates and talked about all things Sarah for hours on end.
And after you have settled into your spot on the floor (or into you campc chair under all the blankets).
You think... I'll just read a little.
And then it happen... you start to nod off!

But, soon after, Andrea Mitchell shows up with her camera crews and people start whizzing around.  "Journalists" want to all ask you the same question, "Why are you here?" and "Why Sarah?"
You look at the time and think, "gee... only 5 hours to go!"
And the excitement builds from there.

I have so been where this guy is... twice in fact...in the last few weeks and it was totally worth it!

CruelaDev,  December 9, 2009 10:22 PM

Priceless!!!

David, I feel your pain.
Governor - please please please come across the pond soon... I'll even pick you up from the airport and I even have a very nice guest room.

Sarah is going to be on Barbara's Most fascinating people tonight.  For me it starts in 20 minutes!

defendAmerica,  December 9, 2009 10:38 PM

Anyone watching BabaWawa?

defendAmerica,  December 9, 2009 10:39 PM

looks like its gonna be repeats of her last interview with the guv...

and why dont we have an open thread tonight... its hard to find you all in here!

Whitney,  December 9, 2009 10:43 PM

Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning in America ( or England). From what I understand Gordon Brown's not the greatest either.

Lakerfanalways,  December 9, 2009 10:44 PM

yeah that is what I was wondering, is it just a repeat of her previous interview and if it is, what part of the repeat is on, since she did many with Babs

defendAmerica,  December 9, 2009 10:47 PM

repeat sound bites, but fair and some images and discussion of the book tour.

manajordan,  December 9, 2009 10:49 PM

It has been so fun to read all the accounts of meeting the Guv. I can hardly believe that she is actually going to be in my area tomorrow. I'm headed to bed soon to get a couple hours of sleep before heading out really early. I'm excited and nervous. I look to chatting with you all afterwards.
Nothin but love for C4P!

Whitney,  December 9, 2009 10:54 PM

oops, did I say the wrong guy?

defendAmerica,  December 9, 2009 10:54 PM

really... Michelle Obama is the most fascinating person in the country... REALLY?!

This country is in the toilet.  It's official.

If Barack can get the Nobel prize, why not?

I think she just won it because of her belt collection.

Lakerfanalways,  December 9, 2009 10:58 PM

Its ABC, you really surprised they would name Michelle "Im not proud to be an American"  Obama as the most fascinating, she hasnt done a damn thing

defendAmerica,  December 9, 2009 10:59 PM

Baba did mention that Sarah is the first person to make the list 2 years in a row.

yogi41,  December 9, 2009 10:59 PM

I wonder if her #1 fascinating person will be Trig? Wouldn't that be great?!

Nancy,  December 9, 2009 11:00 PM

Speaking of LOLcats, I made an LOLcats of my cat when I was watching Sarah on Hannity a few weeks ago.

WHAT. A. CROCK. OF. ....

chicago's conservative,  December 9, 2009 11:01 PM

Yeah I mean come on. Michelle Obama? Now I'll admit I really don't care who Barbara Walters thinks is fascinating, and she did put Sarah in for the 2nd straight year, but Sarah wins this hands down in my book. Not even comparison. I'm not even saying that b/c I happen to like Sarah MUCH more than Michelle, I'm just saying that her life and story is much more interesting. And which is why people find her fascinating.

We'll get another dose of the love fest this holiday season when Oprah sits down with the Obamas. Maybe she can help raise their approval ratings a few points for a couple weeks.

onexsturtle,  December 9, 2009 11:04 PM

Michelle Obama is a big yawn.

Nancy,  December 9, 2009 11:06 PM

Michelle Obama is the most fascinating person of 2009?
Oooohhhh, there are going to be things thrown at the White House tonight! Someone is going to have a hissy fit!

yogi41,  December 9, 2009 11:07 PM

Figures. I told my mom this afternoon, after watching O'Reilly, that it will be Michelle. However, I thought Walters could have really done a service to her sister and all other disabled people by making it Trig. There is no doubt that that little guy has captured our country's heart (well, those of us who have one), and he definitely deserves to be the #1 most fascinating person in 2009. Or, if that was just too far out on a limb for her, why not Susan Boyle?

defendAmerica,  December 9, 2009 11:08 PM

baba asked her about how she keeps her arms looking so well.  There was amazingly no questions about her thighs or her wardrobe choices!

yogi41,  December 9, 2009 11:09 PM

If he was there. Don't forget, he's on his way to Oslo to pick up his coveted peace prize. That's two crocks of doo-doo involving the Obama's tonight: Michelle as the most fascinating person and Barack picking up a Nobel Peace Prize. Crazy!

Mia,  December 9, 2009 11:09 PM

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAT???? HER ARMS????....Gimme a Break!!!!

Mia,  December 9, 2009 11:12 PM

My Garbage Can is not big enough.. to handle my Hurling!!!..UGH!

RINO-Hunter,  December 9, 2009 11:13 PM

Cool!  That's either a very tiny cat or a huge TV you've got.

Kjanlady,  December 9, 2009 11:15 PM

or her big as*

Whitney,  December 9, 2009 11:17 PM

My roommate bought a new big TV recently.

Whitney,  December 9, 2009 11:18 PM

I think Biden's going to be accepted into Mensa tonight too.

Nancy,  December 9, 2009 11:18 PM

Did Michelle get this because she has the most fascinating arms of 2009?
This is all I ever hear about her.

Kjanlady,  December 9, 2009 11:19 PM

Personally, I think Piper Palin is lightyears ahead of the America hating michelle.

defendAmerica,  December 9, 2009 11:22 PM

they gotta come up with something.  i guess that's the best even the left can do!

AussieforSarah,  December 9, 2009 11:24 PM

Going Rogue has finally hit Australian bookstores.

Only problem is price. It was reduced from $49.95 to $43.95.  Still expensive even allowing for transport and exchange from $US to $A.

Nancy,  December 9, 2009 11:24 PM

Michelle isn't even the most fascinating in the White House!
TOTUS is!

A,  December 9, 2009 11:32 PM

Keep your receipt in case it is needed for her signing tour some day.

Firelight,  December 9, 2009 11:39 PM

Should Sarah ever wear an Audrey Hepburn style black dress, she will put Michelle's arm to shame.

Firelight,  December 9, 2009 11:41 PM

It's gravity :)

Firelight,  December 9, 2009 11:51 PM

That would have been brilliant and touching in honor of her sister but Babs is none of those.

narciso,  December 9, 2009 11:54 PM

I guess one shouldn't be surprised, but seriously Sarah is a better story, every day and twice on Tuesday. Her story has humor and heart, hope and dissapointment at the leadership that has failed this country. I kmow I'm biased (I know you'd never guess, but I'm in good company, the Canadian essayist David Warren named her 'Man of the Year' l last year, because he found Obama was an overrated choice

Indemind,  December 9, 2009 11:54 PM

Hey Mr The Aged P....WAKE UP your drooling on  SARAH'S  PICTURE. Ha! Ha!
Sleep tight!

sarah 2012

RINO-Hunter,  December 9, 2009 11:58 PM

MO made the Maxim Hot 100 list too.  She's at #93, ahead of Deanna Russo, Melissa Rycroft, Rebecca Mader, Marisa Tomei, Olivia Munn, Padma Lakshmi, and Yvonne Strahovski.

It's a real travesty that Gov Palin, Gwen Stefani, and Jenny Finch (gorgeous US women's softball pitcher) didn't even make the list.

CruelaDev,  December 10, 2009 12:04 AM

Yeah Babs...pulled a blunder on this one...Thank GOD my finger was already poised on the channel changer...I just knew it was going to "The Once's Wife"...and to lead in with ..."Her ARM'S"...Really Babs?...REALLY?  There is a photo circulating the internet..of Class verses Well Michelle Obama..stepping of AF One...

Laura Bush...Style and Grace..
Michelle getting off in jean shorts, tennis shoes and looking like she just woke up after "date night"

In Australia?

Is Sarah coming to Australia?

CruelaDev,  December 10, 2009 12:10 AM

TOTUS falling over and breaking is even more exciting!  But Babs did say...they only do the 10 most "living"...TOTUS has given great sacrifice this year....even life..from time to time!

Hey Babs...How about someone from OUR Military...Adam Lambert??? Lady Gag Gag???  WHAT?
WOW... we are really screwed up!

ellen,  December 10, 2009 12:43 AM

LOL. We live in opposite land.

Rouger,  December 10, 2009 1:49 AM

DH asked what is so fascinating about her...what has she done? I heard her say something about moving and getting her girls settled in and yelled back to the TV-- Do you have any idea how many people do that on a regular basis and are not lauded with being the most fascinating person of the year!" Then click off.I find myself rolling my eyes sooo much these days...

Rouger,  December 10, 2009 1:50 AM

Are you kidding me!!?

Rouger,  December 10, 2009 1:57 AM

Seriously screwed up. Luckily I was on Tivo and just fast forwarded through most of the cultural rejects. O the small minds of ABC producers. I wish Jenny Sanford would have had more time.

A,  December 10, 2009 3:57 AM

I think so. It would be hard to say no.  A speaking & signing tour?

None announced yet. Stay tuned.

You'll be sick when you realize it's that old ugly michelle oblamblam!
I've NEVER be proud of my country SOMEHOW equals MOST FASCINATING???

BS BS BS!  She ONLY did that to cover her butt for nominating Sarah at ALL!!!
The only way she could get away with it was to put that UGLY IGNORANT MIND up as payment.  (that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it)

latinchic,  December 10, 2009 9:56 AM

Oh my good Lord, that is the best picture...EVER.
