Sarah Palin "Going Rogue" in Salt Lake City!

Here's some video I took of the Governor in Salt Lake City today. I'll watch the local news tonight and get you some more clips!

Costco was filled to bursting with a winding line of enthusiastic supporters---some of whom had camped overnight to meet the Governor. We rarely get ANY politician in Utah for ANY purpose, so it was a real treat to get Governor Palin.

Unfortunately, because of security and the intensity of the crowds, I was unable to get any personal pictures or videos of me talking to the Governor and her husband Todd. However they were incredibly warm, friendly and kind and I couldn't be more grateful for the chance to have talked to them once more.

The response to my op-ed by global warming alarmists has been interesting. Former Vice President Al Gore has called me a “denier” and informs us that climate change is “a principle in physics. It’s like gravity. It exists.”

Perhaps he’s right. Climate change is like gravity – a naturally occurring phenomenon that existed long before, and will exist long after, any governmental attempts to affect it.

However, he’s wrong in calling me a “denier.” As I noted in my op-ed above and in my original Facebook post on Climategate, I have never denied the existence of climate change. I just don’t think we can primarily blame man’s activities for the earth’s cyclical weather changes.

Former Vice President Gore also claimed today that the scientific community has worked on this issue for 20 years, and therefore it is settled science. Well, the Climategate scandal involves the leading experts in this field, and if Climategate is proof of the larger method used over the past 20 years, then Vice President Gore seriously needs to consider that their findings are flawed, falsified, or inconclusive.

Vice President Gore, the Climategate scandal exists. You might even say that it’s sort of like gravity: you simply can’t deny it.

Seth,

I loved the first part, through the shelves with toasters on them.
How very fly over country!:)

Nancy, December 9, 2009 5:56 PM

Cruela,
That girl that they had kinda moving people along after shaking hands with Todd! That is pathetic security after what you did last night!
You could take her no problem.
Todd seems to look at people with wary eyes now, after the way you attacked him last night!

Nancy, December 9, 2009 5:58 PM

Seth,
Did you mention you were associated in any way with C4P?
Because after what happened in Colorado Springs, I would advise everyone against it.

Cruela ya know, may have ruined it for everyone. (clicking tongue)

Imagine Gore attacking Sarah who is now a private citizen, he has no common sense.

Sarah 2012!

juju, December 9, 2009 6:12 PM

Did our gal smack Gore down or what? Can't you just imagine some other Republican male having the the "....s" to do this and do it so quick. It's like I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it any more. But, you can just see her smiling while her little fingers are typing that response. Go girl.

Lakerfanalways, December 9, 2009 6:13 PM

AWESOME VIDEO..AWESOME SMACKDOWN. I would have loved it if she had called him ManBearPig but oh well, awesome response. The video was great thank you so much. Who was the one messing around with Sarah's hear, was that Willow?

When does this woman rest? She has been busy all day signing books and taking care of Trig. Yet she finds the time to answer poor Al and make more sense than he ever will. No, Al never had any sense, common or otherwise.

Beehive, December 9, 2009 6:17 PM

No it was her friend Juanita Fuller. She's been helping the last few stops.

CruelaDev, December 9, 2009 6:37 PM

Well..I kind of hold to Sarah's philosophy....When that door of opportunity is open.. you have to plow right on through...;)

rae4palin, December 9, 2009 6:46 PM

Oh, SNAP!!!

Laurie, December 9, 2009 6:46 PM

Hey Seth
Thanks for the video. I understand about rarely getting a politician to visit your state, I live in the Peoples Republic of Maryland and we Never get a politician to visit, (well, one that I would support) I had to travel to PA and Va to see Sarah and it was so worth it.

UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS RESERVE

for service as set forth in the following CITATION:

For extraordinary heroism above and beyond the call of duty as Commanding Officer of Marine Fighting Squadron TWO FOURTEEN in action against enemy Japanese forces in Central Solomons Area from 12 September 1943 to 3 January 1944. Consistently outnumbered throughout successive hazardous flights over heavily defended hostile territory, Major Boyington struck at the enemy with daring and courageous persistence, leading his squadron into combat with devastating results to Japanese shipping, shore installations and aerial forces. Resolute in his efforts to inflict crippling damage on the enemy, Major Boyington led a formation of twenty-four fighters over Kahili on 17 October and, persistently circling the airdrome where sixty hostile aircraft were grounded, boldly challenged the Japanese to send up planes. Under his brilliant command, our fighters shot down twenty enemy craft in the ensuing action without the loss of a single ship. A superb airman and determined fighter against overwhelming odds, Major Boyington personally destroyed 26 of the many Japanese planes shot down by his squadron and by his forceful leadership developed the combat readiness in his command which was a distinctive factor in the Allied aerial achievements in this vitally strategic area.

There's a poll on this page. Go give the Guv some love.

For whom would you brave the crowds and the cold to wait in line to see?

Poor Al. Bet he's going to have his pals, Boxer and Kerry respond to her. It will take 3 of them to think of some comebacks to her, and none of them will be factual. They'll have to resort to calling her more names.

I used to love watching Black Sheep Squadron when I was a kid. I thought that was the coolest show ever. Col. Boyington is a true American Hero, and it is sad he would be courtmartialed today and never have a popular TV series based on his experiences, unless he was the bad guy.

To the leftists!...to the Rinos!...to Obama!...to the Republicans!
The Honorable Gov. Sarah Palin exists... We common sense conservatives are saying she is like GRAVITY... And you simply can't deny IT!

Beehive, December 9, 2009 7:09 PM

Alright here's another poll, This one has Romney or Palin for Pres.

No surprise here. Romney is way ahead. Dumb Romneybots.

We rarely get ANY politician in Utah for ANY purpose...

I'm sure those of us in other states blessed with an overabundance of politicians would be happy to ship you our surplus to use any way you please, provided you properly dispose of them when finished.

lmg, December 9, 2009 7:34 PM

In which post does Cruella molest Todd?

CruelaDev, December 9, 2009 8:20 PM

All of them!

TSM Admin, December 9, 2009 8:22 PM

I do not see the video Seth posted. There is just a big white space there and I see nothing at all - not even a few dots or a "box outline". I never have any problem with other videos and stills on main articles. I've closed browser and reopened and still blank.

manajordan, December 9, 2009 10:37 PM

Great job Seth, thanks for posting that video. It's good stuff.

SabreMau, December 10, 2009 12:33 AM

Not only was it quite cool to be there to meet her in person, it was also fun times just camping out with everybody for up to 9 hours. I came in from Portland and didn't want to risk any being too-far-back-in-line, so I got there around 3 AM, and was in the first batch Costco started letting into the store proper at around 4 AM. Costco came over with free muffins, free hot chocolate, and overall kept the experience going as smoothly as they could, despite their being inexperienced in events of this size. It was also fun having the local news crews come through reporting on the early morning line. And one thing I wasn't expecting was getting numbered tickets instead of wristbands.

Still, watching the online video news reports from the local station, it seemed like they all had to include a common complaint, "She didn't talk to the media." or "She didn't talk to local Republican leaders." I don't think any of them mentioned her itinerary or how she was headed straight to another book signing in Nevada right after she finished here. I know they'd prefer a short speech to comment on, but more speechmaking seems like it would lead directly to less signing.

Thanks so much, Seth!!!
