Sarah Palin: Greener Than Thou?

Via Facebook:

Why is Governor Schwarzenegger pushing for the same sorts of policies in Copenhagen that have helped drive his state into record deficits and unemployment? Perhaps he will recall that I live in our nation’s only Arctic state and that I was among the first governors to create a sub-cabinet to deal specifically with climate change. While I and all Alaskans witness the impacts of changes in weather patterns firsthand, I have repeatedly said that we can’t primarily blame man’s activities for those changes. And while I did look for practical responses to those changes, what I didn’t do was hamstring Alaska’s job creators with burdensome regulations so that I could act “greener than thou” when talking to reporters.

- Sarah Palin

Some background on this here.

Take that, Green Thumper.

Check and mate.

Dan C, December 15, 2009 9:57 PM

"Why is Governor Schwarzenegger pushing for the same sorts of policies in Copenhagen that have helped drive his state into record deficits and unemployment?"

PERFECT!

Nancy, December 15, 2009 9:57 PM

Oh yeah, I can see Pawlenty, or Romney saying this.

JTS Blog Talk Radio Show, December 15, 2009 9:58 PM

Yep, yep, yep!!!! That's our Sarah!

Nancy, December 15, 2009 9:59 PM

Down goes Schwarzenegger!
Down goes Schwarzenegger!

Beehive, December 15, 2009 9:59 PM

Yeah. It's still sinking in.

Whitney, December 15, 2009 10:00 PM

Oh, she slays me! Greener than thou?!? I think even Obama would give that a solid B+. ;)

Although, I really think the "greener than thou" statement is in reference to THE hat.

bitterclinger, December 15, 2009 10:00 PM

Gee, the same state that voted against him in the presidential election? /Sarc

When are the idiots that like to attack Sarah going to learn? Unlike George Bush - Sarah Palin strikes back and makes the idiot look even more idiotic. It is just amazing!

Whitney, December 15, 2009 10:04 PM

Hasta la vista, baby!

gardunne63, December 15, 2009 10:04 PM

Good god, she doesn't miss a thing does she? I'm still surprised Obama and his 'Rod haven't tried to shut down Facebook just so they can try to quell her pulpit.

By 2012, she'll have at least 4 million FB followers.

Memo to Lefties everywhere : she's not going to retire to any ranch, upon daily firebombs by the Left, like GWB did.

Nancy, December 15, 2009 10:05 PM

Governor Palin: (looking around) Anybody else?.......No one?.......Alrighty then, I gotta get back to baking Christmas cookies.

Anonymous, December 15, 2009 10:07 PM

Did Arnold the RINO do something to merit a special rebuttal from Gov. Palin? Did he criticize her stance against the AGW fraud? I have not checked the news yet.

Holy cow, I loved this! I was laughing out loud just reading the title. This was a perfect response.

narciso, December 15, 2009 10:09 PM

It was an interview in the Financial Times, which was picked up by Politico, challenging her sincerity
on the climate change front.

Bill in Baltimore, December 15, 2009 10:16 PM

They can't help themselves, literally.

They kick, and scream, and talk in hushed tones, and furrow their brow . . .
- and everyone knows they are full of it.

Ahnold is a fool, exactly what were HIS qualifications on running for Governor ?
- oh, now I see. NONE.

Amidst Hanukkah&Christmas festivities,don't lose sight:"Trace the universe back 2 God's power&follow His power upstream 2 His wisdom"-Lucado

Newest tweet! Quoting Max Lucado makes this church of Christ girl happy! :)

Recovering Democrat, December 15, 2009 10:20 PM

OMGosh ... I was hoping and praying she would unleash holy fury on the Governator.

And she did NOT disappoint.

I like that she subtly throws in a religious references "greener than thou" .... I like that for two reasons:

a) it harkens back to her reference to the global warming priesthood (where was that?)
b) it furthers the notion that global warming has become a religion

Palinized, December 15, 2009 10:20 PM

Just when I think I couldn't admire Sarah Palin anymore... Why do people mess with this woman?

Bill in Baltimore, December 15, 2009 10:21 PM

OMG I LOVE SARAH, have I mentioned that !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Recovering Democrat, December 15, 2009 10:21 PM

After running it by a few focus groups, of course. :-)

Nancy, December 15, 2009 10:24 PM

Okay RINO class, The Governor Palin Way of Governing, Being a Conservative, and Fighting Lefty Numbnuts is now in session.
What a great group we have here today! Thank you all for coming! As you will see in our lessons today, The Palin Way is the way to bring America back from the brink of disaster!
The first lesson is: Be conservative!
(a whole row gets up and shuffles out the door)
Well, that wasn't the start we were looking for.
Okay, the second lesson is: Serve your constituents and put the people first!
(another row, beelines it out the door)
Well, the last time I saw people move that fast, it was the American people to get Going Rogue!
Another lesson: Be assertive! Aggressive, even!
(classmates pushing each other to get out the door)
That was a great display of aggression, but not exactly as Governor Palin would do it. Or how I meant it.
But, the final lesson today is: Fight on all sides! Use sarcasm to your full advantage, and don't look back!
(the rest, dejected and unwilling to get a spine, cower out the door).

I guess it is up to the American people to follow Governor Palin's lead.

JoAnne, December 15, 2009 10:24 PM

Doncha just love it!! Take no prisoners, Gov!

Recovering Democrat, December 15, 2009 10:25 PM

She is so old-school ... With Sarah it's hand 2 hand combat. Over ideas! Imagine that? A 21st virtual debate.

ellen, December 15, 2009 10:27 PM

Note to EVERYONE: You don't mess with this woman. period. end of story.
I don't care if you are the terminator, you will still lose!

Kjanlady, December 15, 2009 10:29 PM

Message to Arnold.....you've been terminated. This lady has faced bigger predators than you and will never back down. Care to face a public comparison of your records as governors? By the way, I thought California was all out of green.....money that is.

Lakerfanalways, December 15, 2009 10:30 PM

TAKE THAT ARNOLD YOU SACK OF POO. You just got served!!

RedDaveR, December 15, 2009 10:33 PM

This is a perfect example of why people will stand in line overnight in freezing weather to shake hands with her, get their books signed, and get to talk to her for a precious few seconds.

rrpjr, December 15, 2009 10:34 PM

A swift, stinging rebuke. Necessary and well done.

Izzy, December 15, 2009 10:34 PM

The 'CUDA is a sharp shooter...the Governator is Down...1.2.3.4.5.....9.10. OUT.

DanO, December 15, 2009 10:35 PM

...and lead she will, Nancy. Because Sarah Palin is to Obama as Sarah Connor is to SkyNet!

as Sarah triumphantly said, "You're terminated, F___..."

ellen, December 15, 2009 10:35 PM

I think the tone of this post is especially good. She is not making any personal attacks or telling the governator what to do. Instead she is simply asking, "Why?" (as are most Americans). Then she precedes to give a very clear example of what has worked in the past and what has not. Its clear, concise, and common sense!

Indemind, December 15, 2009 10:36 PM

I once voted for Conan the Barbarian to save my State CalyFornia, but instead I got a Girly Man.
So now I'm looking for Sarah the Braveheart to save my CalyFornia, and the other 49 States;
because the Girly from Alaska has more Cajones than the man from CalyFornia any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Appreciate Rep.Mark Kirk's(Illinois)comments re:Pres Obama not CLOSING Gitmo, merely moving it outside of Chicago!Very, very odd strategy,DC.

Thank you, Governor. I agree with this statement by Kirk, but I hope this isn't some kind of indication she may endorsement. I'm sure it's not, especially with his support of cap and tax and abortion, but the people of Illinois (and America) thank you for this.

Izzy, December 15, 2009 10:38 PM

The 'CUDA upper cuts the Governator...he is DOWN...1..2..3..4..5.......9..10. OUT.

DefCon66, December 15, 2009 10:42 PM

BAM! Just like the movie, Sarah terminates the Terminator! I LIKE IT! LMAO

MarkRNY, December 15, 2009 10:43 PM

She'll be baak.

Lakerfanalways, December 15, 2009 10:44 PM

She is going to review everyone's position before ever endorsing everyone. She knows that every single endorsement she makes will be under scrutany. She shouldnt get involved in Chicago politics..that place is corrupt as they come

narciso, December 15, 2009 10:44 PM

When it's merited she will give credit to the necessary people, one of the things I learned from Continetti, is that she gave a statement of support for Obama's energy plan, last August. When they deserve a slap, like Schmidt client Schwarzenegger, she does it with gusto

Anonymous, December 15, 2009 10:46 PM

Greener than thou! i thought she wrote a poem ala gore but this is just AWESOME!!! go Guv!!!

manajordan, December 15, 2009 10:46 PM

The Guv likes to point out when people are right. I agree an endorsement of Kirk has a very low probability.

GAHanson, December 15, 2009 10:47 PM

I'm glad Gov. Palin slapped Arnold upside his head. Arnold is kissing up to 0bama hoping to get his state on the bailout list, who knows, he may actually buy into the climate change hoax, millions of people have.

manajordan, December 15, 2009 10:49 PM

The Guv has been busy, a facebook post (nightstick taste) and several tweets. Its fun to hear from her today.

yogi41, December 15, 2009 10:49 PM

Oh-oh; she's done it now. They're going to unleash Boxer and Kerry on her again, with a wordy and stern editorial. Or worse, Al Gore will read his poem to her.

Sheya, December 15, 2009 10:51 PM

Oh, they are working on it... Just wait it's gonna come up soon

Nancy, December 15, 2009 10:51 PM

I can picture Schwarzenegger, after reading this Facebook post, in a heap on the floor, with stars and tweeting birdies circling his head, like in a cartoon.

Ted Torgerson, December 15, 2009 10:55 PM

Romney is leaning toward Hoffman in NY-23.

Beehive, December 15, 2009 10:55 PM

Oh please no. I can't take the poem again!

Recovering Democrat, December 15, 2009 10:57 PM

Oh, and one more reason: Sarah says in her book that she doesn't like it when people act "holier than thou" ...

JeanA, December 15, 2009 10:57 PM

Greta Best of the Rest - So Schwarzenegger thinks Gov. Palin is running for Potus?

What about Kerry and Boxer on Energy.

terri, December 15, 2009 11:13 PM

Sarah,

I love ya more than anything.....BUT please DO NOT encourage Mark Kirk.
Do not acknowledge anything he does or says, give him no kudos or even a pat on the back.
He deserves no "atta boys".

My prediction was right! I was just a few days off! :)

http://www.facebook.com/#/notes/sarah-palin/happy-hanukkah/202894723434

Hanukkah post:

Todd and I would like to offer our best wishes to the Jewish community as they celebrate Hanukkah. Known as the Festival of Lights, Hanukkah commemorates the eight-day miracle that took place when the Temple in Jerusalem was rededicated. Though there was only enough consecrated oil for one day, the flame miraculously burned for eight – just long enough to prepare more. This beautiful story is rich with life lessons for members of all faiths. With hope and dedication nothing is impossible, and the Almighty never abandons those who seek the light.

Right on Whitney! You are good.

PatrickinOH, December 15, 2009 11:25 PM

Oh no! Babs and that guy who served in Vietnam? This is it guys, the day has come that I long feared, with these two on Sarah's case she is finished for sure, and Al Gore reading a poem? She won't be able to take that I thought Obama had banned torture

Steven, December 15, 2009 11:25 PM

This lady is hitting them on the Book with one hand and on Twitter with the other. Their collective heads are spinning. Thank you RINOS and Liberals for continually cementing Sarah's conservative creds!

defendAmerica, December 15, 2009 11:25 PM

PatrickinOH, December 15, 2009 11:32 PM

once again Whit your prediction comes true I hereby nominate Whitney as the Oracle of C4P would anybody like to second that motion please say aye!

I love how Sarah has so much respect and admiration for the Jewish people, she shows unbelievable class once again it makes me wonder why the Jewish people could still support Obama who I think has treated Israel like dirt, Sarah is truly on their side why can't they see that?

Ceejay, December 15, 2009 11:42 PM

Upper-cut, wow!

Sarah 2012!

PatrickinOH, December 15, 2009 11:46 PM

Now she needs to give Larry Persily a taste of her rhetorical nightstick, last week Obama nominated this man who once worked in the DC office of Governor Palin emerged as a huge critic of hers during the campaign, he was nominated to interfere in the natural gas pipeline I think Obama is trying to screw up the pipeline deal and then blame Sarah for it when she runs against him, we know he is capable of things like this and much worse as he proved today, He is threatining Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska that if he votes against the healthcare bill he will add Offut AFB to the list of bases that should be closed, the base employs over 10,000 people, how sad that a President of the United States would sacrafice 10,000 jobs and close down an entire AFB just because that state's senator wouldn't vote his way we are truly living in dark days, but Sarah's rhetorical beatdown of the girly man from California really cheered me up :)

Bam!

And you know what? Trust me on this: Mittens just took a huge run to the porcelain throne when he read this.

You can see how she can use this same nightstck on Teh Mittens and Romenycare. Mitt, of course, runs around blaming Deval Patrick and the Democratic legislature for everything that went wrong for Obamacare Lite. The smart thing, as Sarah would point out, was not to inflict such a monstrosity on the good people of the Commonwealth of Massachussetts to begin with.

But Mittens wanted to run against Hillary. Now, he's in the sh*t. Too bad, so sad.

Nice smackdown against the Governator. I hope she was wearing the Green Hat when she wrote that.
