Sarah Palin: Faith, Family, Freedom: Remembering What Really Matters
Via Facebook:
My parents and I just had a wonderful time at “Hard Work U” – the school motto of College of the Ozarks. It earned that proud nickname because students there work their way through college and graduate with little or no debt. (In other words, a place after my own heart, and the hearts of others who worked their way through college and, like me, maybe took five years to finish because of work schedules!)
At tonight’s patriotic event at the college we heard some amazing personal stories of heroism and sacrifice by our military veterans in attendance, including members of our Greatest Generation, who we honored tonight. It was such an inspiration to hear their stories and affirm the principles that make this country great – faith, hard work, perseverance, patriotism, and public service.
All Americans need to hear from these true, proud patriots. May we never forget their fight for freedom. Their battles make the petty shots and irrelevant “challenges” some of us face today pale in comparison. I thank them for allowing us a healthy perspective and a reminder of what really matters.

Chad Livengood, of the Springfield News-Leader, attended Governor Palin's speech last night:
Palin told an estimated crowd of 5,000 packed in Keeter Gymnasium at College of the Ozarks that despite her resignation, she is moving on “in the battle with new strategy.”
Or as her father, Chuck Heath, put it: “He said after my resignation speech, ‘Ah, she’s not retreating, she’s reloading.’ ” A self-described “hockey mom” of five, Palin is an avid hunter.
Palin was the keynote speaker tonight during a convocation that honored World War II veterans and others connected to the private college with “Great American” awards. Palin was the inaugural recipient of the award for her contributions to promoting patriotism, said College of the Ozarks President Jerry Davis.
[...]
Palin talked about how she got started in politics, working her way up from the Wasilla, Alaska, City Council to mayor and then eventually to chair of the Alaska Gas and Oil Conservation Commission and governor of the state.
As a city councilwoman, Palin said she didn’t conform to the town elders’ standards for the status quo of governance.
“I kind of went rogue, even back then,” Palin said jokingly, making a reference to her book title and history of going off-script while running for vice president last year.
Palin spoke to a friendly crowd that routinely applauded what she had to say about the current state of affairs in Washington, D.C., and her call for the country to return to its “pioneering values” of work hard, independence and taking care of your neighbors.
“History and common sense tells us that when government tries to take care of us, it ends up robbing us of our ability to help ourselves,” Palin said. “If we empower people to be free, providing a hand up but not a hand out ... then we will become a more prosperous and generous nation.”

You know......hearing from Sarah (unfiltered by the MSM interpretation) always make me feel proud as an American
I so wish that as she go further into these speaking engagements that at least audio is available for some of these events, it would get her message out to more of the public unfiltered and give some hope....
There are a lot of sleepless nights ahead for Axelrod as he burns the midnight oil in the WH War Room as he tries to devise a way to derail this force of nature. Anyone who draws maximum capacity crowds everywhere she goes, and inspires people to risk frostbite just for a chance to spend a few seconds with her has to be taken seriously.

temps in the 20's in Norman OK.
I am hearing Sarah had a great speech and touched those who needed to hear some positive things instead of the usual distressing news we get from the media.
In fact, OBAMA is now part of the political Establishment and old news so quickly and Sarah's message of...............er......"HOPE" is refreshing to the public..LOL
she has a plan, betcha'
I am stoked, it's a Sarah's America binge.
and I might see her on Saturday at Falls Church, VA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
The text of Sarah speeches would add wonders to a lot of otherwise disenchanted and frustrated patriots. It seem Sarah's speeches are educational as well as inspirational.
I had a dream that her 'Stand Up for Our Nation' website/organization will have speeches in audio and video in different formats....Hmmmm!
Good morning fellow barbarians. It will be a good day!
Sarah is awarded a medal of freedom for promoting patriotism. An award that she has earned and that recognizes only one aspect of the countless gifts that she has given America and millions of ordinary babarians during this dark, dangerous period in history. She has given and continues to give us the gift that we value most.....hope for the future.
Sarah is engaged in a war for the survival of our country...a war with many battles yet to be fought ....a war against a powerful and ruthless enemy....a war that can only be won if ever increasing numbers of ordinary barbarian citizens stand up and say....No More....We Have Had Enough....and ultimately say on election day 2010 & 2012 .....You're fired.
Sarah wins.....A Medal of Freedom for Promoting Patriotism....and the hearts and minds of millions of Americans.
Obama is awarded the nobel peace prize.......for what??????....and the disgust and distrust of the American people.
Viva la barracuda!!!!!!
Sarah's priorities: Faith, Family, Freedom
Obama's priorities: Me, Myself, I
By the way, did I see her wedding ring on her hand in one of those pictures. I thought it was at the bottom of Lake Lucille?!
I was thinking the other day...How hopeless I would feel about my Country...If I didn't have Governor Sarah Palin...inspiring me with her Wisdom and PATRIOTISM for my Country!...
Your Words and Love for this Great Country... bring "Hope" and... the "Real Change" we need...
Thank You... SARAH PALIN!
U.S.A. U.S.A U.S.A. U.S.A.!! DRILL BABY DRILL!! DRILL BABY DRILL!!
'CUDA 2012...YAHOOOOOOO!!!!
Hope that you do. Tell her we all love her.
What is so exciting is Sarah is drawing out what already exists.
Obambi gets his people to yell loud, then they sulk home when the camera is away.<span> </span>
Lloyd Marcus sings "Our Girls".
Check out the Gateway Pundit link above and at the bottom of the post is a video of Palin arriving at Springfield. Sarah's mom and Trig are the first off the bus and the crowd goes wild. Then baby Trig starts laughing and waving......it's so cute. What a precious gift from God.
After reading all the twitters and Governor Palin's Facebook post from the College of the Ozarks, it reminded me once again how very different Governor Palin is to Obama.
She is for hard work and gettting ahead on your own, Obama is for entitlements.
She let's God guide her, Obama follows Rev Wright for 20 years.
She loves our military, Obama loves photo ops with our military.
She believes in prayer, Obama and Michelle cannot even use those words during the Christmas season at the White House.
She belives in free market principles, Obama believes in inviting SEIU and not the Chamber of Commerce to a Job Summit for another photo op.
She believes in lowering debt, Obama believes in growing debt (but lies about it).
I could go on and on and on.
When it comes down to the 2012 election campaign, Governor Palin will have a list of at least 1,000 pages on how much she differentiates from Obama. It should be a very easy choice for the American people.
Sarah Louise Heath Palin is my president!
What I love about this post is Palin's ability to filter through so many issues and focus on what is important.
She has received thousands of speaking invitations, and she chose to do one at a University that reflects her work ethic. Also, there is so much going on in her life, it would be easy for her to focus on herself. Instead, she reminds us to be thankful to all of the other people who have fought for our country before her.
Gary Bauer, Campaign for Working Families End of Day Report asked who his readers would like as the next Presidential candidate. "<span>My Inbox was overflowing this morning with responses to yesterday’s question on preferred presidential candidates in 2012 – and they are still pouring in. But as my staff worked furiously to sort through the barrage of e-mails, two things stood out.</span>
<span>First, I was surprised by the wide range of names that came back. Granted we asked a very open-ended question, but folks obviously are thinking outside the box and willing to consider many options. Quite a few people insisted on a fresh face, such as Rep. Mike Pence of Indiana, who tied for fifth place with Gov. Tim Pawlenty. Other suggestions included Senators John Thune and Jim DeMint, as well as General David Petraeus.
Nevertheless, the final results were quite surprising. There was a spirited contest for second place with Mike Huckabee edging Mitt Romney, while Newt Gingrich finished fourth. But to say there was a clear favorite is an understatement. In fact, one individual got more votes than the other 23 names combined. If my emails and her book sales are any indication, Sarah Palin has a very bright future indeed!" </span>

Yep, they had that magazine in the Borders at Rochester. They got it in the day of the book signing. I got my copy. :)
That was awesome. I'm in love with all of our conservative barbarian babes.
The Anti-Obama in so many ways.
This event sounds like it went really well. I would love to see video or even just have the audio of not only the Guv's speech, which sounds like it was very well done, but also the tributes to some of our veterans. Good stuff all around. Go Sarah Go!
