Sunday brunch! Time to crack the eggs. And the fun never stops!

One of the links on this thread is one from Dr. Thomas Sowell. I know that Sarah has quoted him in the past and I wish that she could somehow hook up with him on a more formal basis. If she developed her economic team to include Sowell, Arthur Laffer, and Stephen Moore, she'd have a dynamite group to advise her.

A good read, I particularly like this:
Ultra-liberal feminists detest that a moose-hunting everymom was able to rise to the top of the heap when so many elitist feminists rest on their lily-white laurels and pat themselves on the back for their "enlightened" political views while accomplishing very little.
Going Rogue Update:
Amazon #1 of ALL BOOKS where it has been for over 3 weeks. Also, Going Rogue is the #1 book bought as a gift, and the #3 book on peoples wish list. Amazon is the biggest online bookseller.
B&N #3, but #1 in non-fiction, in fact GR could fall all the way to #9 and still be #1 in non-fiction online. Also, #1 in Hardcover Non-fiction sold in their stores. BN is the largest seller of books in stores.
Borders #1 of ALL BOOKS
Books a Million #1 in non-fiction where it has been since Sept 29th.
Hastings books #1 in hardcover
WalMart #1 in new releases
Target #1 in new releases
As long as Going Rogue stays #1 in non-fiction at Amazon, BN, Books a Million, and Hastings, it will remain #1 on the NYT bestseller list. There are not a whole lot of really big selling non-fiction out there right now, most the big non-fiction sellers have been out for months, such as Levin's Liberty and Tyranny, and because they've been out for so long, they have fallen in the ratings. GR is new, and probably the most talked about book at this time, so it may dominate the #1 in non-fiction slot for some weeks to come.
Naturally, ahead of Gov. Palin's arrival in Sioux Falls SD, an article calling her "polarizing" had to appearl

Drs. Sowell and Williams have been two of my editorial page heroes for as long as I can remember. It's the common sense thing.
People will naturally gravitate towards one who actually DOES something, and away from those who blather emptily and endlessly. Particularly when they are looking for light at the end of a tunnel.
Finished a video.. Hope you all have a great Sunday!!

Turn on the Ignition with Sarah Palin
Testing . . . testing 1, 2 . . . looks like this is working . . .
Greetings from the land of drug induced oblivion. I was exiled to a relative's house when I left the hospital but was finally released on my own recognizance late yesterday afternoon and allowed to come home. I'm still semi-hungover and a little groggy, but at least I can walk without falling over.
And without further ado -- <span>the surgery was a total, complete and unqualified success!</span> They got Barack the cancer completely cut out, clean margins all around, and more importantly, he hadn't spread anywhere else. My lymph nodes are clean and my doctors are thrilled. I had three lymph drainage sessions with a buddy who does craniosacral therapy before the surgery, and he says that will cut my recovery time in half, so I'm hoping he knows what he's talking about.
I have a friend who is a gas passer (anesthesiologist), so he saw to it that the guys who put me under gave me the royal treatment, and they pumped enough drugs in me to put a dinosaur to sleep. When I finally came to I had no idea that the surgery was over.
I was hoping to take Barack home with me in a jar, but they wouldn't let me. I thought it would be fun to attach him to the rim of my toilet bowl to use as an air freshener or something similarly appropriate -- poison and/or stab him, etc.
Anyway, to say I'm relieved is the understatement of the decade. I go for my post op exam on 12/14 and at that time we'll get the radiation game plan. I'm still so very grateful that no chemo will be necessary.
But most important of all, I thank you all so, so much for the kind words, support, friendship and especially all the prayers. I particularly appreciate the prayers from the children, as I believe there's nothing more pure and powerful than the innocent prayer of a child. The prayers were answered and I'm looking at a complete and total recovery.
I'm supposed to lay low for a few more days before I try to do any work and I've got friends and family lined up to do all my running around for me, so I'm just going to be a slug and watch football and movies. And you should see these incisions! I'll have some world class scars this time. This time the strait jacket only lasted 24 hrs. and I'm finally able to sleep more comfortably.
Still enjoying the reports from the book signings, and hope somehow we get some video from the Gridiron event. I'm sure the gov. knocked 'em dead.
Because of what has happened in the life of Tiger Woods, I cannot with all honesty compare Sarah's talents to Tiger's talents any longer. This saddens me greatly because there were so many examples in Tiger's career that were and could have be analogous to Sarah's emergence on the political scene and her subsequent development into a full-fledged superstar. Tiger now is tainted forever with this budding scandal which threatens to take away whatever respect his fans had for him. I am truly sorry for this, as I know John Ziegler is now. Do I feel betrayed? No. I cannot go that far. I do not know Tiger. But from afar, I knew Tiger wasn't perfect, but I did think that the cause of his monumental lapse in judgment was his father's death. so I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Since then I have learned that Tiger's escapades apparently started way before 2006, when his father was still alive. I am more than disappointed, I am devastated.
Feet of clay is a phrase that famous people do not want to acknowledge or admit to themselves, but nevertheless it is true for even superstars. And yes it is even true for Sarah Palin, but what separates Palin from Tiger IMHO is her faith in God that allows Sarah to 'keep her feet on the ground, to remain humble, to not get highfaluting (pretentious), and to keep a perspective on life that is consonant with the thoughts, ideas and lifestyle of the common man.
I agree with daisyjane69 at FR yesterday that God will give us only one mulligan for this foolishness (the election of the Marxist Obama) and I know this may sound too religious, sanctimonious, or Pollyanish for some readers at C4P but I, like Sarah. do not believe in coincidences and because of the millions of prayers offered up by Americans, I firmly believe God has decided to give America one last chance to 'get back on track' and to return to its roots as a nation founded under God, the source of our inalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and that is why Sarah Palin is here among us now. Sarah Palin is among us for a heavenly purpose and that purpose is to answer our prayers. But that does not mean that she will be embraced by enough people to take down the Democrats in 2010 or oust Obama in 2012, because God did give each male and female free will and the ability to choose; it is up to the American people in 2010 and 2012 to choose darkness (Obama) or to open their eyes and see the light. Sarah will gives America the opportunity to see the light in 2010 and 2012 and for Americans to reclaim their birthright. For those of you who believe this nothing more can be said; for those of you (skeptics/cynics) who do not believe it no evidence will ever be sufficient.
AWESOME Bean Counter!!!!...
tiger hit a tree last week, and so far six women have fallen out.
One more thing...Thank you God...
Fantastic news Bean...sounds like you are back in excellent form already.....power of prayer not to be denied. Lay back, relax and let the stories of Sarah taking the country's heart like a winter storm from Alaska keep you entertained and give you smiles and joy every day. Glad to have you back.....naming your cancer Barack....too funny. Even the cancerous demon Barack has no power when faced with the best medical care in the world. Be well...you will be back in the saddle in no time.
Amen.
Unfortunately, panchita it appears more 'acorns' are about to land. Superstars in the 21st century have to learn they can run, but they cannot hide. Even now there are some cracks starting to show up in the Obama facade. Yes, it may be only a trickle now but trickles can eventually metamorphose into a steady stream given enough nurturing and encouragement, and Sarah's joke about Obama being a communist is one step in the right direction.
So happy for you and your family. Prayers were with you throught out your ordeal.
Now, we all must continue to pray that your good health will continue and that God will be with you. I really know how thrilled you are to have this over and to get a good report. Last week my daughter who has cancer also got a good report that her blood count was the lowest it has been in 4 years. In fact, it was so good I almost thought she was not telling me the truth because she knows how much I worry about her. But, her hubby got on the phone and assured me it was what she said it was. She is so dedicated to the Lord and is fearless.
did she joke about this last night? LOL!
<span>SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) - Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is raising more speculation about a possible presidential bid with a stop in Iowa during her national book-signing tour. </span>
Iowa's caucuses have traditionally launched the presidential nominating season.
Palin's book-signing tour has been carefully controlled, and she has not spoken to reporters at most events.
Still, her appearance in Iowa is seen as significant.
Veteran Republican activist Tim Albrecht says politicians don't just happen to stop in Iowa and Palin must know that her visit is seen as a signal she is considering a run.
Another possible Republican contender, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, also visited the state recently.
<span>http://tinyurl.com/yz8eyea</span>
Praise God that is great!
Greta just posted this. Supposedly it's all of the Governor's speech last night that someone had e-mailed to her:
http://gretawire.blogs.foxnews.com/gov-palin-going-funny-rogue/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+blogs%2FGretawire+%28FOXNews.com+-+Blogs+-+Gretawire%29&utm_content=Twitter
It just might be possible that Tiger has a sex addiction. We may know in coming weeks if he seeks therapy.lol
Rasmussen daily tracking poll:
-14 (25-39) strongly approve-strongly disapprove
25 is the lowest strongly approve number for Obama
-5 (47-52) approve-disapprove
no change
I just finished reading all of it, and of course, there is no absolute verification that this is for sure the Governor's speech. However, it does include the quotes that have been floating around, and some other good stuff. She actually takes some time to thank the media as well, but of course, they would never report that. Read it!
Live blogging at Iowa signing...also a poll ...go vote for Sarah.
http://www.siouxcityjournal.com/
That "Hu's a communist" is real funny.
And she is right to say she thought the woman was asking a question. lol The question could be asked two different ways:
Who is a Communist?
or
Whose a Communist? ( I can imagine a defensive Obama asking that one )
lol lol lol
Thank goodness Bean Counter! I've been praying diligently for you. I like how you named your cancer "Barack" :)
Deserves a separate thread!
Post by Lloyd Marcus on American Thinker defending Sarah Palin and Conservative Women...includes link to his new song
http://www.americanthinker.com/2009/12/in-defense-of-sarah-palin-cons.html
I think that's where they're (media, pundits and Tiger's handlers) heading with this, the sex addiction excuse, but I don't buy it. If that were the case, these women would all be one-night stands. Instead, he formed relationships with all of them (so far) for years; that's not the pattern of a sex addict.
Nancy/CruelaDev, if y'all are going to the book signing, would you please let Governor Palin know that Emily says hi??? Please??? I think Terri is going to but I'd thought I'd let you know too. :)
Where is the poll?
Techno: As you know Tiger is Buddhist. I hope that during this low point in his life that someone close to him can introduce him to Jesus Christ and his love for us lowly sinners. The knee issues, death of his father pale in comparison to this catastrophic event in his life. We shall now see the true measure of the man.
Great article in American Thinker by Lloyd Marcus + link to his new song
http://www.americanthinker.com/2009/12/in_defense_of_sarah_palin_cons.html
Congratulations, Bean Counter. Get better.
On another thread I recommended Tiger call Sarah and ask for her counsel. I know that sounds far-fetched but think about it, who else in America has the credibility to expedite the resurrection of Tiger with her blessing.
Yes, I would be concerned that Tiger might take advantage of Sarah and then go back to his old ways, but Sarah is all about forgiveness and redemption (of course not in the Huckabee sense of giving clemency to the bad guys) and if he gave her a call I think she might find it difficult to refuse to help him.
I agree techno, this does deserve a separate thread. A great speech. Thanks for posting Whitney!
Techo...the poll is just below the live blogging. It has a couple of questions. John Thume was the front runner when I first click on and within minutes Sarah had over taken him by a huge percentage. The link on my above post is the page for live blogging and the poll.
Great News!! I've been think about you...very happy to hear from you and that all went well!! As Sarah says, "Keep the faith!!"
Yea, Bean!!! That's such blessed news and all of us are so thrilled for you. Thank you for taking the time to update us and we'll continue to pray for you as you rest and recover.
Laughed out loud at this line:
<p>"To paraphrase John F. Kennedy, this has to be the most extraordinary collection of people who
</p><p>have gathered to viciously attack me since the last corporate gathering at CBS."</p>
And this one:
<p>"Barney, the nation owes you and the government a debt. A huge, historic, unbelievable debt.
</p><p>But, it’s good to be here with you, Mr. Chairman."</p>
Mrs. BiB wants a little Christmas preparation today, so I won't be on much . . .
But here's my complete write-up on Fairfax book signing . . .
I take it a little beyond how cold it was and how neat it was to meet Sarah.
Key line: Barack Obama is a puppet.
Read here.
on mtp mccain asked if Sarah's brand of conservatism was what the GOP needed to return to power. mccain praised Sarah and stated that it was remarkable how someone so "irrelevant" would continue to be attack. When asked about Going Rogue, he did'nt see anything negative about the book.
Methinks now Sarah will, if no campaigning for him, then completely avoiding the race altogether. We shall see.
Bean...
I knew there was nothing to be worried about....;-)
Even though my fellow nursing commrads done ya good, we all know who to thank for your wonderful outcome.
get well sonn. :-)
Blessed News Bean! Will keep you in my prayers.
Great news, Bean Counter. As to Tiger, there is no denying that he is a great talent, but much like Roy Hobbs, in the Natural, and Babe Ruth in reality, he succumbs to vice to a degree. slightly off topic, that rousing score in the film, could just as well be one of the themes for her campaign, no.
Yes, one of my summations of Sarah Palin is that she is America's last hope...from God. The world also has a stake in America's revival.
i think she'll avoid it.
a real conservative vs. a man she deeply respects that is responsible for her position in national politics right now
i think she'll just let that one play out.
<span>
<p>
</p><p>Speaking of her book...
</p><p>"Hey, I considered not having a title at all.
</p><p>I’ve said it before, but you Beltway types just don’t seem to get it. You don’t need a title to
</p><p>make an impact."
</p></span>
<span>
<p>"It was pitch black when we touched down in Arizona late on August 27, 2008. The next
</p><p>morning we drove to John McCain’s ranch in Sedona. John was waiting on the porch. Before he
</p><p>can say a word, I tell him,
</p><p><span>I'm quoting now.</span>
</p><p>I know why I’m here, and I’m ready. But, I'm worried."
</p><p>
</p><p>Can you hear the sarc is her voice with the "i'm quoting now" ;)
</p></span>
Ouch!!!
"<span> know this can be a long night, and as I understand it, we’re going to break with a Gridiron</span>
<span>
<p>tradition. Normally, the Democrat speaker would deliver a speech after me. But instead, John
</p><p>McCain’s campaign staff asked if they could use that time for a rebuttal."

SO Happy to hear your good news this morning, Bean! You will stay in my prayers!
What about the joke that she could see the Russian embassy? That one was pretty widely circulated...

Oh I see it now. Thanks. You have to click on the live blogging for the poll to appear. Sarah in the lead @ 77%.
Leaves Walter Reed just a few minutes ago and headed to Sioux City, IA for a signing at noon!
Sound off the alerts cause I'm betting she's not taking the bus again!!!
Then she'll be in Sioux Falls, SD from 6:30 to 9:30p tonight. Again, the diva will probably thinks she needs a plane!
Defend
I’m inclined to disagree with you on this one. I think she will campaign for McCain. First of all the Governor is very strong on loyalty and if McCain needs her she’ll ne there for him.
The way I see it is that if McCain seems to be doing OK without her she’ll stay away but if he’s in trouble she’ll do some rallies for him she’ll run with the theme that “would McCain have been president today the country would be much better off”
Also, think of the field day the LSM will have with it if she snubs him. They’ll spin it that even the guy that introduced her to the national stage asked her to stay away.
Regarding the conservative guy, if he doesn’t understand why Palin is supporting McCain over him than he doesn’t deserve to be elected in the first place. She might even explain it to him first.
I could be wrong but that’s the way I see it.
Nice video, weel done!
i think we can actually agree. you're right if he's doing poorly, i think she'll come out for him.
but, if he is holding his own, i think she'll stay out of it.
she will certainly get asked about it by the media, and i think that you'll hear a lot of the same " i respect him. it was an honor to run with him. he is a true American hero" stuff.
i dont think she'll let him lose by a landslide.
Doing the job the President won't do.
I agree, Sheya or let me put it this way. The odds that Sarah does not help McCain out to win the GOP Senate primary next year is the same chance I give that another Tiger Wood's mistress is not going to pop up within the next 48 hours.
She's on the drudgereport page this am. top right corner. the pic of her in the hat with the Christmas tree behind her.

“I’ve said it before, but you Beltway types just don’t seem to get it. You don’t need a title to make an impact.” (from lastnite viz. Greta)
I know everbody one here doesn't want to think this but this quote and the picture of Todd at the book signing(Fairfax Va.) scares me to to the point of hedging on weather Sarah is actually going to Run in ‘12. I always thought she would but the above quote has been stated repeatedly by Sarah and that is disconcerting to me. Now I know I am going to get heat but the possiblity is their and it makes me really mad to be lead to believe something that is not true. Sarah running in '12.
Hey defend!...Wherever you move...make sure you have net access!
Why???....Asset... :)
Thanks Whitney, Now someone dig up please some audio or video.
defend,
Interesting, now that you mention it, it's not in the transcript.. well maybe the one who transcribed it missed it.
Thanks BeanCounter for the update. Thanks be to God for His answers to prayer, and His endless mercy. May He continue to bless you in your recovery.
Funny techno.
When the Tiger Wood's afairs story broke, I thought of you, i feel for you buddy. Look at the bright side maybe that is what kept him going.
Quite honestly I see the emphasis on this point geared towards 2010 and not 2011 or 2012. Think about it for a second. Next year after the Going Rogue tour is all said and done Sarah Palin will have to spend the first 6-8 months convincing the GOP base and establishment that she is a major player in the 2010 midterms and to that she must stave off those factions who may dismiss her contributions because she does not have a 'title' currently as opposed to various governors, Congressmen and Senators who may tout their titles as a reason why they should be listened to with higher credibility. Of course her omnipresence in the lower 48 gaining more support in the polls, giving speeches to GOP audiences, raising money for the party, getting to know GOP officials better, and supporting conservative candidates will IMHO allow Sarah to bring the full force of her charisma, eloquence and yes gravitas to the table but as I have repeated on a number of occasions of C4P, the 2010 midterms will be make or break time for Sarah Palin in terms of a future run for the presidency in 2012. Obviously I think that Sarah will be instrumental in orchestrating a huge or landslide GOP congressional victory in Nov 2010 and that success will springboard her to becoming the undeniable frontrunner as we move into 2011 and the primaries in 2012. But the GOP establishment will be out to stop her-you betcha!
I was planning to go to the Iowa signing but I bailed out on the fear the LSM would question my motives, you know that I'm planning a presidential run. Can't handle that pressure.
I still don't see it. I clicked Live Blog and all I got was the comments section; no poll. Oh well, she's leading and won't need my vote. :)
You know she is remarkably humble, but I don't see another candidate that could really harness the force of the tea party protester, the mass of the disaffected all throughout the land.
JMO, but I think you may be reading too much into that statement.
If she's successful in 2010, enough people clamor for her to run, and she thinks she can beat Obama in 2012, she'll run.
I had the same problem. Click the large rectangle 'live blogging box'. At the very bottom of the box are the 2 polls, again the very bottom.
I'm inclined to believe that she keeps saying that line because she doesn't have her "Governor" title right now and she's still making a difference. I don't read into it that she doesn't want the Presidency, or the title of the Presidency; rather, she's making progress towards that goal without having the title of an elected official.
Be still my heart, Carl Cameron, gave a good segment, pointing out her popularity, her visit to Walter Reed as her reason for being late, to the Iowa book signing
Great news, BC! It was the second best outcome(the first being that Barack wasn't actually there in the first place). I know that you will recover and be just as good as new in a very short time.
Ciao Bella, buongiorno.
Good morning and good day, all. God bless.
Thank goodness it's Sunday; I might be able to catch up on all the great news and posts that I missed yesterday.
Good show! I didn't doubt for a minute.
I think 'the title' question goes to the issue of credibility and I believe she is targeting two audiences with her assertion: her supporters who might be inclined to fall away if they expect that Sarah is not viable as a major player due to the fact she no longer is the Governor of Alaska and for potential new recruits to her tent who might be attracted to her but do not feel she is credible as 'voice in the wilderness', that their conservatism may get in the way of embracing someone who has 'gone rogue'. Look up the definition of conservatism and you will discover it does not include in it an allusion to iconclasm, being unorthodox or taking the path less travelled.
Nice video! Thanks.
Should anyone need a good belly laugh today, I highly recommend this read from Doug Giles at Townhall.......Doug is the father of our favorite faux prostitute journalist Hannah Giles.
"It's Got to Suck to be a Climavangelist!"

I, too was more than disappointed in Tiger's revelations this week. I know he is a guy, but geez, show a little prudence in these matters. When a girl starts saving your e-mails, text messages, and voice mails(and blue dresses with a stain) you had better conclude that they are after your money. They can all be used to bribe you with, dummy!
Now he has to pay his wife to stay with him. Ugh!
i dont think i would survive without the internet. i am a blackberry addict ;)
Sarah now at 75% in the poll.
Outstanding write-up! I especially loved your compare and contrast with Obama. What a life changing meet-up with Sarah. Greatness has a way of rising to the top. It must have been truly exciting to be part of that.
harnessing that force, while still moving forward with a positive message. that is where her her true strength and power comes from...
to harness that frustration is one thing. to be able to harness it to inspire people with positive message of real hope and real change and ignite patriotism again is a whole different thing... this is where i think she is truly remarkable.
Praise God and pass the ammunition! So glad to have you back in the Barbarian Army...I just can't express how thankful and thrilled I am to hear your wonderful report! If my knees were better, I'd jump up and down!
Off to church and will gratefully deliver the praise report.
Welcome back, BeanCounter!!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE that she was late to the Iowa book signing. For those in Iowa, who would wonder... no you're not at the top of the Guv's priority list... her injured soldiers are ;)
Ciao ciao Bello!....sono Le tue scarpe cerchi buono?... ;)
I am surprise they let Gov. Palin visit the troops at Walter Reed. They probably waited to the last minute to tell her she was allowed. Hope she takes whatever time is needed to sign every book in Iowa. That would be nice after running late.
Huffington Compost has a 'story' on Palin the racist. Ill paste it below so you don't have to visit the site. sigh.
"<span>Palin, though notoriously ill-traveled outside the United States, did journey far to the first of the four colleges she attended, in Hawaii. She and a friend who went with her lasted only one semester. "Hawaii was a little too perfect," Palin writes. "Perpetual sunshine isn't necessarily conducive to serious academics for eighteen-year-old Alaska girls." Perhaps not.But Palin's father, Chuck Heath, gave a different account to Conroy and Walshe. According to him, the presence of so many Asians and Pacific Islanders made her uncomfortable: "They were a minority type thing and it wasn't glamorous, so she came home." In any case, Palin reports that she much preferred her last stop, the University of Idaho, "because it was much like Alaska yet still 'Outside.' "</span>
I've not been a big on your comparing Sarah to Tiger from the 1st time, as I am not big on comparing her to Reagan, or anybody else, for that matter. Nonetheless, I can see why you have, and why people do. I believe that she is singular, as are all of us under God's heaven. She has become the force that she is not so much through her own efforts, but by allowing the gifts bestowed on her by God to come to the fore, and to flourish. I believe that that is the only source of true greatness in anything.
Woods is obviously a good golfer, a product of his fathers efforts as well as his own, but what is perhaps less obvious is how much better he might be is he were truly aware of his insignificance in the greater sphere of things, and allowed a greater power more influence over his life. It certainly would have saved him his current grief.
And so Sarah is unique, as are the times and circumstances in which we find ourselves. That is why I am dismayed, disgusted, or amused by comments, criticisms, and observations made from the perspective of what's gone before. It's a new game, with new parameters, new equipment, and a new player who can only be objectively criticized after the passage of time and events. Whew! That's a lot of typing for me!
Huffington are the racists and they are trying anything and failing at everything.
She also got a dig in at Barney when she explained the "vulnerability" of the parallel banking system, i.e. borrowing short-term liquid assets to invest in long-term illiquid assets.
Sarah showed that she knows EXACTLY what Barney and Fannie Mae's role was in the housing crisis.
I wished she had not tweeted het Walter Reed visit. She should have gone unannounced.
Old news. <span>Huffington are the racists and they are pulling anything out of their racist hat and failing at everything.</span>
And ya don't need sneakers to play basketball.
Beancounter, I am delighted to join the crowd that is happy with the good news of your progress.
I will give you the same advice that I give to my patients, "take two aspirin and call me in the morming."
Well, Sheya, you would be every bit as eligible as our current president ;-)
I hope we can get the video of that report!
I would normally agree with you but the fact of Sarah being late for her book signing is what the MSM would use against her by accusing Sarah of being undisciplined or irresponsible similar to when the various engagements were confirmed in earlier in the year by event organizers and subsequently cancelled by Meg Stapleton, if Sarah did not have a good reason to justify her tardiness.
Sarah IMHO needs to get by this 'reputation' of not showing up at events and she has done a pretty good job up to now of doing that.
Do you like my new avatar? :)
My dear friend Techno, that is a tremendous post.
Your ability to see things clearly and express it even more clearly always amzes me.
God bless you.
YEP!
I wrote about this on the open thread on Friday. Simply, culture shock and feeling like a fish out of water is not racism.
Best wishes for a quick recovery and Blessed Be that "Barack" is GONE!
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Obama's entire memoir "Dreams From My Father" about his discomfort with white people? And didn't he feel more comfortable moving to Chicago than continuing to live in Hawaii?
All these limosine liberals are hilarious. They wouldn't last TWO minutes in Watts or the South side of Chicago, but they criticize an 18-year-old Palin for wanting to be in familiar surroundings. The fact is people of all races prefer to be around their own kind. There's a reason black people don't flock to Alaska or Utah or Idaho. There are very few black people there. So if they don't want to be surrounded by 97% whites, then why is it wrong for a white person to not want to live where they would be a minority?
Their saying she hasn't even lefted DC yet?
Congratulations, Bean Counter. You're in my prayers.
there is a famous old joke about a man who approaches a beautiful woman and asks her if she will sleep with him for a million dollars. She replies that she would give it serious consideration for that kind of money.
Then he asks her if she will sleep with him for 5 dollars. She looks shocked and asks him what kind of woman he thinks she is.
He replies that she already knows what kind of woman she is but he wants to know her price.
At this stage, Tiger is simply negotiating their price.
We will start to hear more about the true Tiger. My bet is that he has a terrible temper with a tongue to go with it.
And BTW, Tiger is not a Christian. He is Buddist.

It's more of an addiction to Scandinavian Blondes.....
Yes, she wrapped up her speech with "I'm going to Iowa.... B&N noon to 3pm....."
That's my point : )
Good-golly-Miss-Molly, after reading Susteren's transcript it just keeps getting better and funnier!
(Even though Lady Sarah used NONE of my suggested lines.....) :-(
We are gonna be hearing some of these zingers repeated for years & years.....
A trait you share with ourLady Sarah.... ;-)
contrast this with the story on Drudge that the British soldiers did not want to meet with PM Brown in England.
Why was she 45 minutes late? I think it is a safe bet that many wanted to meet her.

Well, my friend. slug away! It is -20 celius here in edmonton, so I am about to break my loft fever and head out for a constitutional.
Recovering Democrat,
You could write jokes for Sarah.
As the book tour starts to wind down, is any one else wondering where Sarah goes from here?
Yep. I believe Sowell is still at the Hoover Institution at Stanford (Near Palo Alto, CA).
Cuda, this is not the first time you have slipped dangerously close to 'Concern Troll' territory..... (much like your avatar Prometheous approaching the sun).
"Lead to beleive something that is not true"?!?!?!?!
Our Lady Sarah HAS NEVER SAID THAT SHE WILL EVER RUN FOR PUBLIC OFFICE AGAIN IN HER LIFE!
Suggest one more time that you are MAD she LIED to you and I'll be the first to say GTFO!
As for a mulligan for foolishness, try this one on for size. Bamster says that Obamacare is a jobs program. As they say en francais, incroyable!!! (?sp)
Also, please check out http://www.debbieschlussel.com/ for more about the dry run on Air Tran on Nov 17.
Techno, I did send a note to elrushbo. He searches Debbie's site.
Also, anyone, why is there a push for Carly (xCEO)? She is a RINO.
My guess is she will enjoy a snowy holiday up north and then be back on the war path after the new year. Talking with 2010 candidates and making plans to win back Congress.
Excuse me for getting your name wrong, but being as this is a WE UNCONDITIONALLY SUPPORT PALIN site and not a Led Zepplin site my mistake should be forgivable.....
;-)
I like what Rush has to say on this behaviour. Tiger has had nothing but enablers in his life and when one marries, eventually, all the masks start to fall off. As Rush said:
<span>And then you get married. And marriage is a whole different thing. That one special person finds the truth, you are not really perfect, and you are not really wonderful, and all that everybody else thinks about you is not true, and then you are not treated that way, because a spouse, you have a relationship with a spouse that is going to be different than the relationship with anybody else. So if you're not getting that treatment from the person closest to you, you're going to go out and find it. You're going to go out and find it wherever you can because you become accustomed to it. What do you do when you expect to be treated as though you're perfect and wonderful and you're not, what do you do? You go seek it where you will.
And I'm trying to say something without saying it, I hope you can figure it out on your own, but can you say groupies here? You take it from there. I mean, he's not prowling the halls at Harvard or MIT. He's prowling the halls of nightclubs. So that's what I think. I've seen it. I've worked with professional athletes. We're all a product of who we are and how we're raised. I'm just speculating here, but, as I've always said, folks, don't doubt me. Remember, I'm documented to be almost always right now 99.5% of the time. </span>
Build her infrastructure, recruiting and integrating more staff and consolidating her organization into a lean, efficient machine would be a major priority in the next 6 months.
As for Sarah's schedule she has pretty outlined what it will be: more Facebook posts and op-eds, paid speeches and unpaid speeches for the GOP; meeting with local GOP officials and expanding her network of influence especially in the early primary states, giving more interviews, raising money for the GOP and herself and recruiting or supporting conservative candidates to support in the 2010 midterms. And then of course we have the 2010 midterms and you already know what I expect Sarah to do to dictate the results in the GOP's favor.
Also, Coda CHECK THE CONTEXT! She was jesting about BOOK TITLES and maybe not having one because.....
LOVE IT!!!! She has a Canadian sense of humour, must have something to do with cold.
Is it me or is the SiouxJournal treating the book signing like a rock star event? They have live feed, live video and whoever is tweeting for the Journal looks like a fan and is writing one breathless post after the other. Looks like Iowa is a lock for us.
She also says it to INSPIRE 'everyday' Americans who mistakenly consider themselves to be insignifigant and powerless with no voice or choice in their future.....

People have to realize that Hawaii and Alaska culturally and to a certain extent economically and religiously are very different states. The one thing that is similar is that both have indiginous people and tourism makes up a good chunk of the economy. Sarah probably missed Todd and felt out-of-place. Remember that at that time she was only 19 or 20 years old. At that time, I was in junior college getting general education credit out of the way and lower division business classes my second year to transfer later to the university for upper division work. I lived in my parents' home and was a commuter student. When young and away from home, you can really miss it. That is why many parents would rather have their college-age kids study locally due to more support until their confidence and maturity grow. Many Univ. students burn out and fail their very first year due to loneliness and being away from their support networks, especially if their home is very far away.
Led to believe? Nobody has led anybody to believe anything. Sarah has time and time again said she doesn't know what she'll be doing in 2012. If people still insist that she is running FOR SURE, then it's really more their own wishful thinking. I think it's obvious that Sarah is waiting to see if the political environment will be favorable to her in 2012. She hasn't closed any doors to anything, but it doesn't mean that she MUST run in 2012. All we can do is hope she'll run and that the political climate will be favorable to her so that she'll win. We can't force something on someone and if they don't do what we want them to do (with their lives) we get mad at them. Those who are her true supporters will never put that kind of pressure on Sarah.
I know this is a little off topic but I am watching the Pats-Dolphins game and they just showed a close-up of the injury on Tom Brady's right ring finger. Phil Simms, the color commentator just said, "You can't hide anything in the NFL any longer."
I would call this a metaphor for superstars like Tiger Woods getting exposed. You can run but you cannot hide. There are just too many ravaging dogs out there wanting to tear you apart and bring you down.
I think it's a no-brainer that Sarah will campaign for McCain if he asks her to.
Get well quick we need you back on the job here at C4P.
God Bless and Prayers to you.
sarah 2012
I'm a bit late to this party but, ALL MEN HAVE A SEX ADDICTION!!! Only, most of us actually take our vows of marrage serious. There is NO excuss for what Tiger did and will continue to do.
Yep, seems we live in a time when a large segment of the population defines success as destroying those who know how to be and make the effort to be successful. May we turn that tide.
Yep..... narcissism, something apparently that Mr. Woods shares with the Usurper-In-Cheif and NOT with Lady Palin.....

I wonder if it's possible for her to have all her people working for her sign confidentiality agreements and no disclosure rules with a grace period of 2 years. With all that went on in Alaska and her former workers turning on her, I am worried some might be very critical of Gov.Palin to enrich themselves if she has reason to terminate anyone.
I've often wondered why Political campaigns don't have key workers sign confidentaility agreements.
National Tea Party in Feb. should be hugh.
Sarah's always two moves ahead of everyone else. I hope she realizes that if she campaigns for him and he wins (which is looking iffy at the moment), he and Lindsey Grahamnesty would have no trouble being the "mavericks" to thwart her agenda if she wins in 2012.
They just posted on the Iowa blog/live feed that Palin's plane has landed. Hope she walks down the line so we can see her.

I'm thinking that we are all a fan of the Gov. wearing hats, at least this snazzy one.
I agree with your point here, but I think we can have healthy debate without calling each other trolls.
Debate of ideas is important and it is a given that we will not all always agree with each other or with Sarah here. That is what separates us from Obamabots that fall in line with whatever he spews without question.
But, lets stick to debating ideas and not falling into the liberal game of personal attacks and name calling.
Coda is clearly not a troll and has been very supportive of the Guv for quite some time here.
Gelston,
After her book tour, whither goes Sarah?
She will set up her Stand Up For Our Nation. This organization will have the political message of common sense conservativism and it will be franchised out not only to all 50 states, but to every county across our land and they will be manned by Sarah's volunteers. (She has legions of them, an advantage over her rivals in the primaries.) They will promote her values and help conservative candidates, especially the lesser known ones that are truly conservative. This organization will lessen the GOP establishment's influence and capacity for mischiefs and will hold elected officials accountable for their votes and deeds in the Congress and other elected offices.
Sarah will have the modern means of communications through FB and tweeter. So it's not costly for her to set up her nationwide political network that can rival our two political parties.
Some one has suggested that she build up an email list of small donors similar to the Obama political machine of 2008. Sarah can easily do that. She can leverage her phenomenal popularity to elicit an enormous response to her cause.
Sarah running for POTUS in 2012? She already is.
She is already campaigning for both the primaries and the general elections.
There's no doubt after reading her memoir.
Page 110 about her 2006 AK governatorial campaign: "I knew I wouldn't have the backing of the party machine anyway, so my reliance on a grassroots effort required and early edge before the other guys started lining up."
That's what she is doing now. She is getting the "early edge" with her book tour.
Always remember this when we discuss Sarah. She thinks outside the box. And she is bold. Very bold.
We were all surprised that she went on Oprah show. We were all fretting about her going to address the Gridiron, the bastion of the liberal MSM.
Well, she did those and came out looking pretty good. Why is that? It's her colossal self-confidence. That's why she could ad-lib in the Republican convention when the teleprompter malfunctioned. That was quite astonishing.
No one I can remember comes close to Sarah in having this huge support of the regular Americans. Not even the great Ronald Reagan. It took him decades to build his base of supporters. He started out his political career with a solid fan base from his movies. (I'm not diminishing RR. I still think his likeness should up there at Mt. Rushmore.)
The phenomenon that is Sarah has yet to be fathomed. There's never been one like her.
She is in some enchanted way an enigma, yes, an exquisite enigma.
VIVA SARAH !
you are 100% correct.
Mary Beth, who has posted here for ages as UBER, was called a troll yesterday.
This should stop now. Healthy discussion is, well, healthy.
sheya's got it up just a little further down this thread.
i agree with people who have said that she will get more serious.
I see her focusing more on policy and I think see would be wise to do it in small venues. She is at her best when she is one-on-one with people.
hmmm... she's supposed to be at another signing in south dakota later this evening. wonder if she will leave on time from iowa, so send word that she's staying for the full planned time in iowa and will also be later for her south dakota event.
hope she stays and spends her full time there. anyone who has waited 12+ hours for Sarah, will surely wait another hour, esp because it was her meeting with the troops that set her behind!
so= or
it's sunday, apparently my brain is enjoying the weekend off :)
<span>I agree with people who have said that she will get more serious.
I see her focusing more on policy and I think she would be wise to go to small venues (under 500). She is at her best when she is one-on-one with people.</span>
An off topic suggestion to C4P Editors: Monday is December 7th, Pearl Harbor Day. Please run a separate thread honoring all the Greatest Generation WWII vets we still have with us. They are leaving us at an alarming rate.
My Dad was on the Nevada, the only battlewagon to get underway and ended up beached off Hospital Point. He also ended up at Normandy. He never spoke about either. He's been gone for 12 years and I think this day hurts more than any other.
Keep the faith, Barbarians...see you again next Friday!
ps: still dancing a mental jig for BeanCounter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it seems to be happening a whole lot here lately.
Perhaps it is because it has been a while with this new system since we have had to deal with actual trolls.
Perhaps it is because Sarah is putting herself out there now and expressing her opinions and thus the media is spinning their opinions.
However, we are a team here. We don't need to always agree and should feel free to debate ideas here.
But in the last week or so, I have seen MANY long standing, very committed commenters here labelled trolls, or worse, by another here who disagrees with the idea they put out.
Sarah has asked the media to debate her on ideas, and I think we own each other nothing less.
In the words of Sarah in one of my favorite of her many debates, " I think we owe (Alaskan's) a better discourse than this".
I think we owe each other a better discourse than this.
Obama is irked that the Press did not ask him any questions about Asia during his recent trip. Instead Obama said they asked him about if he read Sarah Palin book. So what is so wrong in reading Gov. Palin book? I bet had they ask if he read some snotty, elite east coast liberal book he would have gladly expounded. I bet he read other political memoirs by senators and politicians.
Why can't Sarah Palin get no respect from these people.

I apologise to those that think I over-reacted. That said, Coda DID SAY he/she expected to draw flak for the comment. Posting to create controversy is the DEFINITION of "Troll". Also as I posted this is NOT the first time Coda has questioned and/or apparently misinterpreted an action or motive of our Lady Sarah, although not nearly to the extent of the annoying 'Sad-ra in Woebegon'. Re-read the following line - "....makes me really mad to be lead to beleive something that is not true." My Dear Bean Counter,
I am SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!! DEO GRATIAS!!!

My Dear Friends in Sarah,
I have to catch up on other posts, but what a great day, with our Friend Bean Counter's good news!!!

OAKLAND RAIDERS 27, PITTSBURGH STEELERS 24...sweetest Raider moment in years!!!!
Brianus
They asked him about Sarah Palin's book because they're worried she's going to take his job and they're worried that Obama seems oblivious to this possible fate. That's why they asked him ;)
Thanks, techno: well-said!!!
Brianus
Thanks, Bill!!!!!
Brianus,
Your review on Sarah's memoir.
I just read your post of yesterday. (I have been very busy lately.)
Once again your elegant prose moves me a lot. (Tears well up.) There's always that touch of nobility about it in the way you write.
I agree with the context of your post. But it's the power of your written language that leaves in my heart a lasting impression. Intellectually we can often forget what we read. But emotionally we always cherish that beautiful feeling that language leaves in the depth of our hearts.
(Perhaps you like the works of Eugene O'Neill and Tennessee Williams.)
I salute you, bro.
VIVA SARAH !
YEP!!!!!
Thanks, happymullah...and, yes, VIVA SARAH!!!!
Thanks, OldDude...and, re the Cal-UW game yesterday, I just think of the Big Game again, and yesterday's UDub win doesn't sting so much!!
happymullah,
Thank you so much, Bro!! What a beautiful, radiant day this is.
I think that, perhaps, it is my decades-long study of and love for Latin and Greek literature, and for Shakespeare, that has contributed to whatever I can do with the "pen." In any case, THANK YOU for your generous remarks!!!
Brianus (still on CLOUD NINE re Bean Counter and my Raiders!!!)

You need to cool off. No, this is not a site where we “unconditionally support Governor Palin”. This is exactly what the LSM is trying to portray us as, blind folded lemmings. Maybe you should take a moment and read the C4P –Who we are and what we stand for post
...We are not a "Draft Sarah Palin" website. We are "Conservatives for Palin" because we support her vision of an energy independent America that is more peaceful and more prosperous because we rely on our own resources. We support her respect for the culture of life. We support her belief in limited government and true free market capitalism -- not the crony capitalism that once festered in Alaska or the corporatism that is currently taking hold in this country. We support her belief that America must be strong in order to be peaceful. We do not all agree with her on every issue. We often disagree with each other on specific issues. But we support the overall conservative philosophy that Sarah Palin affirms. Above all we respect her courage and integrity as a true reformer....
No one is expected to agree with the Governor 100%, we encourage healthy and constructive debate. When people have questions about the Governor we want them to ask and feel free to bring it up so we could set them straight, somtimes we'll agree to disagree. Let’s remember that Governor Palin is human too and humans do err and as the Governor says people have the right to ask questions as long as it’s done respectfully and with good intentions, which most people here abide to
With all the attacks the Governor has been taking from the media, some people can handle it better than others’ and some are more sensitive to the detial, consider that before you go after the people who have been here from way back and are the very people who helped make this site what it is today.
Awesome Bean Counter, must have felt like a warm comforting breeze (exhale now) blowing over you when he said you were clean and free from Barack now if only we could be!
<span>You know, I'm starting to believe liberals are onto something. They keep saying "Palin didn't write that!" And I think they're right. Palin didn't write her speech / jokes last night...
Ronald Reagan's spirit did.</span>
There's a lot of stuff not in the transcript. It think this was the formal remarks she may have went in with, but she deviated from the speech. Because the Russian Embassy is missing, as is the part about her parents being the Salahi's.
Gosh, everyone is taking her Fairfax outfit as their avatar!
Dumb question but where is the link to Sarah in front of the Christmas tree? That was a picture for the ages.
They are projecting Obama's qualities onto Sarah, since the first time she appeared on the scene.
Oh for the love of God... The LSM is starting to peddle the "Palin is a racist / hates minorities" story again. The scum Gregory Charles Royal is back in the limelight.
What makes me nervous is they are not using this opportunity to collect the names of her volunteers. It's such a wasted moment. Why don't they canvass for her Stand up For our Nation thing right now?
Here is the larger version of the one I use for my avatar.
Because she's using this book and tour to rehabilitate her image as a normal human being and not a (choose one) evil witch, caribou barbie, religious wingnut, half a whacko, fill in the blank.
One step at a time ...
Bean,
Woo-hoo! God is sooooo good! I pray for your continued great recovery! Awesome, awesome news!:)

<span>Get stuffed. Do you honestly believe all those supporters at all the book signing are not lead to believe Sarah is going to run in '12. If Sarah doesn't run in '12 she would not have thousand show up at these events. My original comment is based on the quote by her. One last thing if somebody attacks Sarah I will always supporter Sarah. If you don't like my opinion to bad because they are a lot who may have the same opinion as me. I wish Sarah would just drop the line altogether.</span>
<span></span>
I may be reading to much into the line but it is disheartening to see and hear it. Sarah has to know she can only make so much of an impact out side of the process. To curb or revers the RAT. Sarah has to know a title is needed and that title is President. Thats the only title worthy of her now. A President makes more of an impact than a private citizen such as Sarah and no I am not dismissing the impact of Sarah but there is a world of difference between the to. By the way I will not respond to you any further.
I think it will take more than those two to derail President Palin.
Cookie anyone?
<span>I voiced a concern and for most part I got a reassurance I was wrong but you jump down my throat shame on you for that.
