WSJ: Obama's latest populist turn won't help the recovery
Glenn Reynolds: "Obama wants banks to loan more money to small business. I’d be willing to bet, though, that part of the problem is that small business isn’t keen to borrow or expand right now — in large part for fear of what Obama’s tax-and-health-care-and-carbon-tax policies will do to their future prospects."

Good Morning...My Good Friends...
Ciao Bello...
One is struck by the way some folks don't like that the truth about them, comes out, we've seen this with Climategate, with the health care debate, and now with Beck's revelations of Mark Lloyd:
http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2009/12/14/fcc-chief-diversity-officer-rejects-communist-label/
Good morning everyone! 6 more work days until I get a week and a half off of work! :)
New thought: I wonder how much the Governor could raise for a good non-profit org. it she auctioned off THE Hat.
She set the snare and the big fat liar jumped right in.
When Sarah wrote her Op-Ed about the politicization of the Copenhagen meetings, Al Gore couldn't resist responding to her. She didn't need to react to his blathering about how wrong she was because there have now been many, many articles written about how wrong he was in his response to her. She didn't need to participate in a back-and-forth with the goracle. He jumped into her snare, opened his mouth and now many others have shown just how foolish he is.
Won't these fools ever learn? All she had to do was sit back and watch the fun. Well done, Sarah!
Did you notice that Piper was wearing it at one of the base signings over the weekend?
Hey I got the Sarah Pac email, I want you to know all that. There is a touch of the Yosemite Sam/Elmer Fudd in these attacks on her, and the response is 'now you know, this means war"
Mornin' troops, and as an addendum to a rather convoluted conversation from last night regarding mayonaisse, Paula Deen told me that she uses Kraft mayo. As she's my southern culinary patron saint, I bow to her judgement. Have I mentioned my killer smoked cheddar pimento cheese. Now put THAT in a sandwich and grill it!
On another note, I had my post op checkup yesterday. Pathology report confirmed what the surgeon had said -- that they got all the cancer and nothing had spread. And, I'm quite relieved to say, they said I am, in fact, a suitable candidate for that high tech balloon radiation, which will involve treatment twice a day for 5 days, then it's over, as opposed to the conventional 36 day tour of duty. This particular kind of radiation eliminates most side effects and drastically reduces the probability of collertal damage to healthy tissue and cells, so it's a much better way to go if at all possible. Haven't scheduled that yet, I'm waiting to hear from the radiology oncologist. Finally, they told me I would need to take an estrogen blocker drug for 5 years, which I'm hoping will be one of these Wal Mart $4.00 a month meds, but I guess we'll see.
So, again, I'm greatly relieved and thankful to God for his blessings and again, thankful to all of you for your kindness and support.
Good News, B.C. !!!!
That is wonderful! Praise God. Thank you for sharing your good news!
That's great news, Bean Counter.
10 RANDOM THOUGHTS:
1) Why should anyone take a poll on Tiger Woods' favorables? is he thinking about running for Congress? Wouldn't it be a more interesting poll to ask the question:
In the wake of the revelations surrounding Tiger Woods how do you see President Obama?
a) more favorable
b) less favorable
c) no change or no impact
2) For the folks who say polls don't matter this far out, let me introduce you to several dark horses on the GOP side who are inclined to jump into the GOP 2012 primaries as long as they perceive they have a decent shot to gaining traction among the primary voters, raising a sufficient amount of money, and become generally regarded by the MSM as 'viable dark horse'. And what do you think that assessment is mostly based on? You got it! The various polls of the GOP contenders this early out.
And then you have the unique case of Sarah Palin. You say the polls don't matter in terms of Sarah's F/UF. What has the political narrative consistently been regarding Sarah (in addition to the bimbo narrative)-that her UNFAVORABLES are way too high, that she is polarizing, divisive and thus not electable. Ergo, if polls could be produced that proved this narrative false or at least overblown, could it be possible that Sarah might be seen in a different light by her own supporters and by fence-sitters, skeptics and independents. Voila! You have have CNN saying Sarah's F/UF are at 46/46 and the USA/Gallup poll coming out later today saying it is at 44/47. Please, no more talk on C4P that polls do not matter this early in the election cycle.
3) I am more convinced than ever that conservatives and Sarah Palin must embrace Andrew Breitbart and his musings on popular culture if they are to beat Obama in 2012. This is the third time in the last 3 days I have commented on this subject and I know I sound like a broken record but it is what it is.
4) Why has Lisa Schiffren's article Tiger, Barack and the Law of Transitivity written on Dec 8 not gotten more attention at C4P in the way of a separate thread? I would put this article in the top 3 written in the entire year not written by Sarah Palin.
5) Why has C4P not brought more attention to Laura Ingraham's planned protest (Code Red Rally) today in front of the Capitol today at 1:30 PM EST?

Fantastic... Bean Counter!!
Ciao Bella, buongiorno.
And good morning, good day to all of you extra-ordinary barbarians. God bless.
Great news!
Wonderful, Bean! (I mean the post-op check up, not the mayo or sandwich.)
Thanks for the update.
Now that the bus / book tour is over, we should dust off the plans for the barbarian road trip. Sounds like you're just about ready to rock 'n roll.
Great news Bean....a Christmas gift.
That is great news. I hope you continue to get stronger.
Still in my prayers.
Praise God! That it was caught early! Your Blessed!
That smoked cheddar pimento cheese sandwich sounds tasty.
Whit, I think she needs to hold onto that Castro hat and wear it as much as possible. It is a good reminder to all Americans who is in the White House.
Good for you! As for mayo, a southerner oughta be using Dukes.
Hey riley4palin...Congrats!
My Dear Friends in Sarah,
I have a few thoughts to share with you on what seems to me to be one of the most remarkable and courageous achievements of Our Sarah, and this in a lifetime of gutsy choices and brave actions.
On p. 243 of her book, she is telling the story of those fateful fifty or so minutes of 3 September of last year, when, overcoming the seemingly cruel trick of a failed teleprompter, she became America's Sarah Palin.
She has just recounted her famous differentiation and distinction between a hockey mom and a pit bull: lipstick! Then she says, "I wasn't nervous. By God's grace I was having a ball, and that broken teleprompter was pretty liberating."
Seemingly simple words!!
And yet, the more one reflects on these words, the more deep they become, deep, indeed, in proportion to the very depths of the great and courageous spirit that they reveal.
These two or three simple lines can teach us so much about God's loving providence, about His use of our free will to achieve His hidden and mighty purposes, and, of course, about our "Sarah Braveheart," as one of our dear friends dubbed her a few days ago.
This little handful of words, and the heroic deed they commemorate and memorialize, can also serve to refute so many of the ridiculous charges and slanders that the left, with filthy hands and hearts, has flung at her.
We will probably never know if the teleprompter broke by accident, or if, as I suspect, an obama operative bribed a technician to sabotage it. However, either way, can we doubt that the immortal speech that she delivered on that beauteous evening in the late summer, early autumn days of '08 would not have been quite the same had the teleprompter not broken--or been broken?
The oration just as she delivered it revealed her soul and spirit to the American people on a level beyond the brilliantly-crafted words of speechwriter Matt Scully. The words themselves might have been pretty much the same with a "healthy" teleprompter, but, instead of falling merely black and white from her lips, they fell with a golden tinge, the golden sheen in which her dauntless spirit clothed them.
Did anyone in the convention hall, did anyone in America, did anyone across the globe even suspect that she had encountered the utter disaster--so it might have seemed--of a failed teleprompter?
NO!!!!
The seamless transition she made to non-teleprompter mode, the smooth, imperceptible gear-shift she executed, in a divine irony, has by its very hidden nature, in fact, become the most "unhidden" and striking and powerful and manifest revelation of her great heart, her brave heart, her unbreakable courage.
How could Sarah have accomplished this tour de force, won this silent but overwhelming victory, if she were not a consummate lover of words, and a connoisseur of our English tongue? How could she have triumphed in this way if she were not a lifelong reader and lover of books?
It was precisely because she knows and loves language that she knew that speech, had made it part of her, and hence was able to confront with aplomb and joy an obstacle that would have paralyzed lesser minds and spirits...including a certain figure who is calling himself POTUS these days.
My friends, this great lady and warrior and friend of ours was not only NOT paralyzed and defeated...hell, pardon my language, but, hell yes, damn right, she revelled in it, she delighted in it...she was having FUN!!!
I would briefly, before I finish, like to note that we could cite from Sacred Scripture examples of perpetrators' "swords" turned, by God’s providence, into their own entrails. Remember the gallows that Haman prepared for Mordecai in the Book of Esther? Haman was hanged on his own gallows. And, of course, the [...]
In the for whatever it's worth dept., I remember when Michael Jordan retired from Bball the 1st time having a several weeks conversation with a saute cook about how he should go home to NC, run for congress, and be our 1st black POTUS. He could've easily done it.
Dear Bean Counter,
DEO GRATIAS--thanks be to God!!! I am so happy for you, dear friend.
Prayers shall continue!!

6) Why isn't there more discussion on C4P about the 'fat cats' who stand to benefit from Obama's largesse and the hypocrisy displayed by Obama in decrying 'fat cats' recently?
7) Several months ago it was suggested that a conservative activist from going to prepare a 'campaign playbook' which outlined the fundamentals that need to be in place to run a successful campaign. Short of that, since most of the ordinary barbarians are novices or have never participated in a political campaign at all, don't you think it would be wise for a separate thread be devoted to the nuts and bolts of political campaigns (PC 101) so that we can all follow along with some understanding what Sarah is trying to accomplish and what her opponents may scheme to try to undermine her or at least throw some roadblocks in her path? (eg fundraising, campaign finance laws, GOTV (get out the vote), networking, scheduling visits, staff members and their various titles and roles in a campaign etc)
8) IMHO there should be intermingling or bonding with hillbuzz or PUMA's (former Hillary Clinton supporters now supporting Sarah Palin) by C4P. For example they had an excellent idea of giving every nursing home patient in Iowa a copy of Going Rogue for free. I believe these folks would have some additional ideas that would help Sarah progress her message.
9) With that in mind in #8, it would be helpful to not only have conservatives post at C4P in the form of a separate thread, but libertarians, conservative Democrats, independent conservatives, Tea party members, gays, blacks or Hispanics who support Sarah Palin (an op-ed section for those who do not call themselves conservatives) to understand where they are coming from and to become more enlightened to the broad appeal that Sarah Palin really has.
10) And lastly I want to pay tribute to the editors of C4P who for the last 9 months or so have allowed me to display my iconoclastic tendencies and allowed me to post contrary opinions that had many C4P readers occasionally up in arms or ready to put their fist through their computer screen. My political passion for Sarah Palin has no bounds; neither does my disgust and hate for Obama and his merry men and women.
Well she speaks from the heart, and when you say what you really believe, it comes out genuine. When you have to say 'as I always said,' to disguise what you mean now, that's when you problems even the TOTUS can't get you out off
Techno, sorry that my post came in between the two parts of yours!!
Mia:
It is a bit early so I went blank for a second. I assume you mean the Book contest. Well, thank you very much.
Do you think it is too much to ask Tommy that the contest winners at least deserve an autographed picture from Governor Palin somewhere on the book tour? :) It really is time for C4P to call in their markers with the Governor wouldn't you agree??
cookboy, ahhh, Dukes. It's what I grew up eating in NC. When I first moved to Nashville, I had to continually smuggle in jars of Dukes to all the transplanted tarheels who were bereft without it. I have no idea how widespread it is these days or if it's stil just available in NC.
Gallup poll:
Obama continues to have a higher favorable rating than job approval, a sign that some of those who don’t like his policies as president still think highly of him as a person. Among those surveyed, 56% had a favorable opinion of him; 42% an unfavorable one.
And Sarah Palin?
The nationwide tour promoting her best-selling book, Going Rogue, seems to have helped boost her image, although she still has a way to go. Now, 44% have a favorable opinion of the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee. Forty-seven percent have an unfavorable view.
In October, her favorable rating was 40%-50%"
I AGREE!!!!! :)
Please God......strike fear into the hearts (if they have hearts) of Congress and strike down this takeover of our healthcare. Show them what their own Death Panel will be......the American People.
Well Techno, to quote the Righteous Brothers,"They've lost that loving feeling" I think this gambit of blaming the bankers, while having them in your councils of state is over. That game is over, he has to deliver on something real, and the stimulus was a fraud, so much so, that our own Charmin' Charlie, is having to say 'Barack Obama, never heard of him"
An interlude of refinement needed to be interjected between the bookends of my unvarnished thoughts.
Thank you for providing it.
Riley,
I have been away for two or three days. I assume you won Tommy R's contest.
CONGRATS!!!!
Gee, I have to try to catch up on the last few days!!
Brianus
IBD has another great article about the Guv.
Palin Vs. Gore: Oceans Apart
http://www.investors.com/NewsAndAnalysis/Article.aspx?id=515264
I had several knock-down, drag out fights (on e-mail) with my Reagan friend, that Sarah still ignores really good people (in DC). They are dying to talk to her.
- but the tone has shifted from "let me show you the ropes" to "please, let me mentor you. I knew Ronnie !"
I'm not talking about RINO's, I'm talking about really good people, like Dick Armey, Cal Thomas, Ed Meese, etc. etc. etc. etc. Not one of them have ever gotten a call (general observation)
I know that both Dick and Cal have been condescending to her, but really, she can't win without reaching out and getting to know these people.
These are people with 30+ years of experience, they loathe Bush, McCain, and while Sarah might be qualified to be President, she's has little experience in the big leagues of politics
- don't blast me on this, it's true, just go with my point
I did remind my friend that Sarah's first experience with "the big leagues" was a tad unpleasant, to say the least.
Reagan's Army is ready, willing, and able to support her, protect her, and fight for her.
The key is not to get elected, the key is to be effective.
- and she needs Reagan's Army
- pretty much starting in Jan 2010, time is of the essence
What do you all think ?
Yes, congratulations are in order for your, Riley. Good point about THE Hat! People do need to remember Hu's in the White House.I the meantime I need to find a black version of THE hat to go with my coat.
KC, I did notice that Piper was wearing THE hat over the weekend.
I think Sarah was keeping her powder dry in this area because of the Going Rogue tour and also because she doesn't really know who she can really trust. When in doubt, tread water. And after the level of abuse levelled against her by McCain insiders and GOP operatives let alone Obama and the entire Democratic party, is it any wonder that Sarah would be guarded or at least somewhat reluctant to bring someone on board who could end up stabbing her in the back and betraying her and proving himself/herself to be a fifth columnist, quisling or Judas by leaking unfavorable info on Palin to the MSM or her political opponents?
Yes, Bill, Palin will eventually have to hire more staff-it goes with the territory of running a 'campaign'. I think Sarah knows it and we both know it as well.
Climaters meeting this morning on msnbc eugene robinson liberal hack who just wrote AGW hit piece on Sarah, andrea mitchell and chris hitchens noted atheist who called Sarah "a disgraceful oppurtunist and a real moral corward" and went to the gridiron dinner to use a knife and fork.
Obviously no one stood up for Sarahs position and how CLIMATEGATE influenced her decision. Their vile hatred encouraged me, as it assures me i am on the right side of history.
Inconvenient truth for Al Gore as his North Pole sums don't add uphttp://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/environment/copenhagen/article6956783.ece
Hey Guys. So My husband and I went to see Invictus the other night. I'm not sure if anyone has heard about it, but it is about when President Nelson Mandela got elected. My husband grew up in Uganda, Africa, and played rugby so when a show comes out that is based in Africa and has rugby in it, it is a must see in this house!!!
It was a great movie, very inspiring. It was very much about race, whites vs. blacks, but I have to say that President Mandela wasn't into the whole racial divide. He wanted to work together and seemed to inspire both sides into wanting to work together.
We know that Mandela was locked up in prision for 30 years, we don't know what about but it was made for you to beleive the whites locked him up just for being black, and I'm sure that probably was the case. He didn't have bitterness about it which was one thing I appreciated in the movie.
He wanted to bring the country together, and he thought he could do that by winning the World Cup in rugby. He ended up becoming very close friends with the captain of the world cup; and as the movie progresses, you can see the country grow unified.
So while I was sitting watching the movie, I wished Obama would be like Mandela in so many ways. I don't really know that much about Mandela still regarding what he did politically, but when it came to racial tendencies, he wanted nothing of it. Mandela would never had called the police officer stupid, he never would allow his administration to call those who disagree with him racist, and he would have worked to make a more unified country. I'm not sure if there is anyone comparing Mandela to Obama, but Obama does not come close to what Mandela did in my opinion. Where it seems like our country is more divided than every (political and racial), Obama is not taking leadership where Mandela stood up for what he knew was right and what he knew was best for the country, even when the Africans didn't particularly like what he said.
All in all, very good film which we both enjoyed very much. I would advise to go see it. If you know nothing about rugby, you will come away knowing nothing about rugby lol!! It is worth it though watching a black president try to unite his country.
Brianus:
Thank you. There were two other winners as well. So I guess Tommy has his work cut out for him to get THREE autographed pictures of Governor Palin on the book tour. :)
BTW: I enjoy reading all of your posts. They always make me smile.
I think PUMAs could be very helpful in a campaign gameplan, because they went through it with Hillary, and know all the shenanigans. Many of them are worried that the GOP will try to kick Sarah to the curb in the way the DNC sacrificed Hillary.
It's gonna be a war ... but as Brianus so eloquently put it (quoting Sarah) "By God's Grace" may we all "have a ball."
:)
Whit, I think you should contact the White House switchboard today to get a Castro Hat. I'm sure they have the Castro Hat available in various colors. Since it is the government, your wait time shouldn't be more than 90 minutes.
Since Obama has taken over the White House, I heard he switched the recording so that English is the second language. Be prepared for "press 1 for Spanish, press 2 for English" and so forth.
Rasmussen daily tracking poll:
-15 (26-41) strongly approve-strongly disapprove
Although Obama is rebounding a bit there is still the third straight day he has been at -15 or worse in his net approval index
-7 (46-53) approval-disapproval
A gain of 4 points in one day-a great day of polling for Obama but nevertheless at 46% approval is 7 points off his winning 53% vote total on Nov 4, 2008.
And Matthew Dowd, a GOP strategist and a moderate (even RINO's have a good idea occasionally) averred on Nov 24th that "...Gallup polls over the past 60 years show that no president with an approval rating under 47% has won reelection, and no president with an approval rating above 51% has lost reelection. The 2012 election will be primarily about our current president and whether voters are satisfied with the country's direction."
(my bold print)
"WHO THE REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE IS, AND HIS OR HER QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES, WILL MATTER ONLY IF OBAMA'S APPROVAL RATING IS BETWEEN 47 AND 51 PERCENT GOING INTO THE FALL OF 2012..."
Well it's a little more complicated than that, Mandela was convicted for directing violent action against the Government, that's why they could list him as a political prisoner, but not as a prisoner of conscience. However, coming off age up in South Africa, n the world of passbooks and other articles of Apartheid, Jim Crow with a Dutch accent, I can understand how that would be a response, No, Obama is nothing like
Mandela, there is no generosity of spirit there
Thanks, like I said I didn't really know the history, and they didn't go into detail; but watching the movie made me wish that Obama had some of the characteristics that Mandela showed in the movie.
Deidre, thanks for the update, I'll add that to my list of things to do.
I agree with everything you just posted, except for # 8. I did like the suggestion by Hillbuzz to distribute the books in nursing homes, etc, but I am still one of those people who is still very wary of Hillary and her supporters. Are they really ALL IN for Governor Palin? What would stop them from voting for her? What if Hillary changes her mind and decides to run? Are all of them really okay with Governor Palin's Pro Life stance?
Furthermore, what happens if Governor Palin wins the nomination. Will Hillary Clinton be campaigning outright for her boss? Where does that leave Hillbuzz and PUMA supporters? Will they still campaign as hard for Governor Palin if Hillary is for the other guy? Just some lingering questions that need to be answered.
Overall, great suggestions for the site. I am in your corner that Governor Palin needs to bring in pop culture to the everyday dialog going forward. (I even suggested yesterday that along with a policy book, she should sell a book on pop culture and how it influences political decisions and market it with her policy book for the 2010 Holiday season).
As for Lisa Schriffen's article, YES, that should be a discussion here as well as the "Fat Cats" comment by Obama yesterday.
All of these comments by Obama and what is happening in pop culture directly affect people's views and could have a direct impact on Governor Palin down the road with the fence-sitters and Independents.
Looks like Whitney will be getting some new neighbors. Obama is about to annouce that the feds will take over a prison in Illinois, to house GITMO terrorists. What could go wrong? Congratulations, Whitney.....El Paso should be sounding better and better.
Deidre:
I believe this is exactly why Andrew Breitbart, Tech, and others have suggested that Governor Palin needs to bring in pop culture to everyday discussion.
For some reason or another, Obama's likability factor still keeps him from sinking all the way to the bottom and approval in the 30's or below with his boneheaded policy decisions.
I can guarantee that the White House did not appreciate Governor Palin's appearance on Conan....an NBC channel of all things the other night. She got rave reviews and for anyone watching it who might be on the fence, they smiled and it affected their opinion of her.
She needs to continue to change people's perceptions and increase her likability factor so the more she appears on "Obama turf" (i.e. pop culture markets), the better off she will be.
Beat Obama at his own game.
And according to the Economist/youguv poll Obama's LIKEABILITY favorable is still around 65% while his job approval is now at 47.5%. This disparity cannot be ignored and if it is it will pose major problems in the future.
You're correct to think that if Hillary runs (which she won't), the PUMAs will jump to her ship. Of course they will; Hillbuzz has repeatedly said they would. However, if Obama was to put her on the ticket, as V.P., there are many PUMAs who hate him so much that they have said they couldn't vote for that ticket. But if Obama decides not to run in 2012 (highly doubtful) and Hillary makes the run and wins the nomination, then we can conclude the PUMAs will all be on board with her.
However, it's very clear that the Democratic brand is tarnished right now and it will be poison by 2012. I don't think ANY Democrat will win the 2012 election, just like no Republican would have won in 2008. This whole scenario is reminding me of the lead-up to the 1968 election all over again. I honestly believe we're going to see the same themes and anger that persisted in that election happen again in 2012. But is Obama's ego larger than LBJ's? Will he decide, like LBJ, not to run? Personally, I think he runs, and as he does, he takes a lot of Democrats down with him.
As for Hillary campaigning for Obama, she can't. As SOS, she cannot use her office to campaign for him, so that's off the table.
Well, considering they're (Armey and Thomas) going on television and trashing her, I find it hard to believe they want to mentor her. And if they do, they have a strange way of showing it.
riley,
Thank you for the compliment, thanks for the info on the TRIPLE winners, and congrats again.
God bless!!
Brianus
Amen and amen. Veritas.
Great, I've often remarked on how this administration seems addicted to bringing about bad sci fi scenarios, Logan's Run, and possibly THX 1138, but now it seems they want to test the proposition that led to the result at the opening of season 6 of '24, remember the terrorist there, was given a get out of jail free card, and like the scorpion in the frog talem went to work
...and I have been catching up.
Out of scores of sterling comments I easily could have mentioned, here are a few of them that I would like to acknowledge:
(just about all are from Tommy's Sunday thread re the contest winners)
Bestbud at 3:46:40
Lipstick at 3:47:10--the thirteen highlights of the tour!!
Kjanlady--NB: I too celebrated the triumphant conclusion of the book tour, even though I was not able to join you guys in a virtual glass of wine!!
Nancy at 8:06:48--I love your account of your pastor's sermon and your application of the words to Sarah
Eunice--welcome!!!!
Brianus
yogi41, I agree, but . . . "going rogue", she needs to reach out and Palinize a couple of them and they'll be on her side FOREVER.
perhaps not Army and Thomas, but others ?
- although they still have to be supportive of her to be effective.
Yes, she is on the dance floor now, but if things proceed as planned, it really is their dance floor, much as we love Sarah.
Do you all realize there are like 1,000 political appointees for each Administration ?
- and like 4,000 total appointees ?
Many of these people have to go in front of Congress.
And most of these positions in BHO's "Hopey Changey" administration are UNFILLED !
So who exactly is going to line up these THOUSANDS of political appointees ? Meg Stapleton ?
Remember, the key is not to waltz into town, the key is to be effective.
- and Sarah would agree.
Yeah, this kind of thing just comes with the territory of living under the state government of Illinois. The reason that this prison has room in the first place is because the state built it several years ago but doesn't budget appropriately to have it "working order". The state budget cut prison staff to supposedly help with our $12 billion deficit. Now this is up in the air due to issues with the courts and unions. However, it's all fine and dandy to do this as it means more federal money. Our state government is a joke with the amount of debt, corruption, and mismanagement that we have here.
Then, there is the potential for these detainees to influence and convert other prisoners, the potential for them to be tried in civilian court, and the potential that our state becomes a terrorist target. The FBI actually thwarted a plot to bomb a county building and a Congressman's office here in Springfield a few months ago. Thankfully, they caught the guy. I don't feel that I have a NIMBY attitude. I really don't like the tactics of our state and federal government in handling this.
OK, done with my rant.
Yes, El Paso does seem to have it's advantages in that sense. Hey, no state income tax sounds nice as does 300+ days of sunshine and warm weather. :)
Gratias tibi ago, amice!!!
Who wrote this:
"...Now it will be easy to carry on the fight, for we can call on all the resources of the State. Radio and press are at our disposal. We shall stage a masterpiece of propaganda. And this time, naturally, there is no lack of money."
1) George Soros
2) Saul Alinsky
3) Bill Ayres
4) Joseph Stalin
5) Joseph Goebbels
Hallelujah! Great to see you a here after a few days absence Brianus
Oh, I have no problem with her talking to anyone from Reagan's contingent. I was just reacting to the suggestion that Armey and Thomas want to mentor her. My response is, and remains, - they sure have a funny way of showing it. I don't get how trashing her will make her want to reach out to them. Perhaps that works in the beltway, but most people would stay far away from people who claim one thing in private and behave differently in public.
LOL, techno!!!
Hmmmm, considering the use of the term "State", I would guess Goebbels or Stalin. But let me narrow it to Goebbels.
Well-said, techno!!!
You guys and gals may know this already...but I didn't. For anyone here in the California area, you still have a shot to see Governor Palin in February:
(This is from Josh Painter's site....www.texas4palin.com)
Tickets for Sarah Palin's speech to the Sierra Cascade Logging Conference scheduled for February 8 at 7 PM sold out in just a few days' time, so the 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate has agreed to deliver an additional address at the Redding, California event.
Former Gov. Palin will give her additional speech, a matinƩe address earlier the same day. Tickets for the 3 PM address went on sale Monday morning. According to a KHSL-TV <span>report</span>, about a thousand tickets are still available for the afternoon speech at the prices of $54 and $74. They are available from <span>Northern Lights Energy</span>, <span>KLXR</span> radio and the Redding <span>Convention Center</span>.
Yes narcisco I just finished the 6th season of 24 on DVD I just watched the 7th epispde of season 7 last night, that is a great comparison, love it when anybody brings up 24 in reference to current events happening today
I will bring up a few myself, I have brought these up before but I think they bear repeating:
Sarah Palin=Jack Bauer
Barack Obama is no David Palmer! Palmer was a democrat but he loved his country and knew what he had to do to defend it!
Here's an article pointing out how liberal media (mostly white) are decrying that mostly whites went to the book signings. But on the other hand the protesters of Obambi's war policy went without the racial character of the protest being mention. I think I'm starting to understand your racist if you're right politically of Obambi but color blind if left of Obambi.

Thanks, Pat...BTW, did you see my answer, on Saturday evening, to your inquiry about my city of residence? I did respond, but I think you had already signed off!!
Goebbels, from The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich by William Shirer in 1959.
But it could have been written by or said by any of these folks, couldn't it?
This has been a constant theme of mine on C4P for the past 9 months. People question why I hate Obama: digest the quote by Goebbels and you have a glimpse into my consciousness to why I feel the way I do about Obama.
Agree with techno's point. Further, America needs and wants Sarah to be Sarah and keep doing it her way more than she needs the VIPs (Friends of RR or otherwise), imo.
They shouldn't expect her to call them. Instead, if they have something to offer, they should call her -- privately and confidentially, egos 'checked at the door.'
Hopefully some of them are able and willing to do that.
It's true, people like him but not his policies.
Thank you, Deidre!!
Bill:
With all due respect, the men who claim to be wanting to help Governor Palin are not sincere in their efforts. If they were, they would not be standing behind the curtain, or trashing her on occasion, but instead be out front and center promoting her as a viable candidate day after day after day. That is how you earn someone's trust.
Your choice in words of "protect her" are not what the Governor needs. She can take care of herself just fine.
The comments you mentioned of Reagan's Army being willing to say "let me show you the ropes", to "please let me mentor you" sound sexist and condescending to be honest.
How does a stay-at-home Mom get elected Mayor, then Governor, then get selected as a VP candidate? Was that by standing back and being mentored by men, or perhaps was that her own will and desire to compete and have a winning spirit?
As a businesswoman who on occasion deals with "old school men" who come across just as sexist and condescending, do you know how I solve that problem? I keep my head down and show them how a woman does it.
Eventually, the men come around to a woman's way of thinking by sitting back and watching how it gets done. Then you know what happens next? The dialog reverses and Governor Palin will be saying, "please let me show you how I want things done" to "please let me mentor you on how I want my Administration to be run. And thank you for your support."
Awesome news!! Glad to hear it!
Pat, early in '08, I went through my entire (complete) collection of 24 DVDs: the marathon of marathons. Of course, it was not in one sitting--not quite!! I am glad you are enjoying this great show!!
Brianus
I also have a Lord of the Rings refernence that Brianus is sure to enjoy:
Remember in the Two Towers when Gandald, Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas were in Fangorn Forest, and Gandalf said "a thing is about to happen that has not happened since the elder days, the Ents are going to wake up and realize that they sre strong."
Like the election of 1980, a thing is about to happen that hasn't happened since the election of 1980, the American people are going to wake up and realize that they are strong like the Ents.
Sarah Palin=Eowyn
Techno, I feel just as you do about obama...
LOVE IT, Pat!!!!
And for those of you who don't know William Shirer was an American correspondent working in Berlin and Germany in the 1930's who observed first hand the Nazi party in its infancy, its rise to power in 1933, its subsequent repressive takeover of every aspect of life in Germany, the use of Goebbel's propoganda machinery to suppress even the thought of dissent and the use of thuggish techniques to eliminate the opposition by the use of concentration camps, murder or execution.
Shirer saw it all and what he did not know he researched over a period of about 15 years-thus the release of book in 1959 and not right after WWII. Substitute the name Obama for Hitler.
Now you ask why is Obama not as effective as Hitler. Well, it's not for a lack of trying. It's called the American Constitution (Weimar Constitution suspended permanently by Hitler), the 2nd Amendment (Germany did not have one) and the viability of Sarah Palin. Imagine if it were legal in Germany for somebody like Sarah Palin after 1933 to literally take Hitler apart politically and subject him to public ridicule; perhaps the German people and the world would have awakened sooner to how much of a threat Hitler was to world peace.
Folks, what would the state of the opposition to Obama and the state of the conservative movement be like without the presence of Sarah Palin? 1/2 less effective IMHO. You cannot underestimate the power of leadership to galvanize increased activity. Without Sarah, yes you would have the townhall protests and the Tea Party movement but without a leader the MSM could marginalize it as 'fringe groups' and not worthy of political respect. With Sarah Palin, independent conservatives and the tea party movement has the GOP establishment and Obama and the Democrats shaking in their boots.
Amen, RecoveringD!!
panchita it has been said that you can tell what a person is like by the company they keep, I think it can also be said that you can tell what a person is like by who their enemies are, Like you I am comforted by this, I am glad people like Eugene "Race baiter" Robinson, Chrissy Matthews, Olberdouche hate Sarah's guts I would be worried if they ever said a nice thing about her
To go along with Techno's point if you read the book Liberal Fascism by Jonah Goldberg (Sarah has) you will see that the American left has much more in common with Fascism than conservatives who the left jumps at the chance to call us crypto nazis, the Eugenics movement actually started here in the USA, Hitler got his inspiration for his own eugenics program from the USA, he even wrote a letter to Margaret Sanger praising her work in lowering the population of so-called "undesirables"
riley, I don't get how "let me show you the ropes" and "please let me mentor you is sexist" ...
what this means "please let me mentor you" is that they see she is on course for POTUS 2012.
and are you saying she doesn't need mentoring ?
- everyone does.
Thanks, techno, for the background on Shirer. His book was on my late dad's bookshelf many years ago, and, as I recall, I read it in part. Just a few weeks ago I was thinking that I should read the book in toto.
I shall if I can find the time.
Brianus
Thanks Brianus but I was wondering I understand you live in California? I was born in Redlands, CA about an hour east of LA, its in San Bernadino County, my dad was stationed at Norton AFB which has been closed since 1995, my family was transferred to Wright=Patterson AFB in 1992
PatrickinOH:
The huge problem we on our side still have is to convince ordinary apolitical Americans that Obama and his cronies, as Rush Limbaugh says, want to destroy the American economic system and erode and wipe away the American Constitution with all the rights and freedoms that are guaranteed within. To these folks, because of their education and moral upbringing (I am addressing evangelicals and Christians here) they cannot bring themselves around to not being CHARITABLE to the current President of the United States. He is the President; he deserves our support!
Fortunately according to the polls, this feeling is slowing dissipating and more 'religious folks' are beginning to wake up to the evil reality named Obama. But as far as I am concerned too many of these folks still support Obama because of the render under Caesar argument' and perhaps is an indication why Obama still retains a 65% LIKEABILITY number according to the most recent Economist/youguv poll.
Brian are you going to be able to get to Redding to hear Sarah speak?
Very good points techno, I think that the reason some people are turned off by people like Rush and Beck is that it is too hard to believe that we way have elected someone who wants to fundamentally transform this country, in Obam's words no less, They believe that could never possibly happen here, no it only happens in other countries, they mistakenly believe we are invincible and we will last forever, if we are not careful we will become like the Roman Emire and dissapear, however I don't think we are an empire we are a republic, and in reference to Shirer, there was a reporter for the NYT back in the 30s through the 50's they called him Stalin's Apologist but I can't remember his name do you remember techno?
Bill - I hear what you are saying and I respect your thought but I am going to say something that is arguably a little sacriligous (sp). Did Jesus go to Nicodemous (the Insider) to be mentored or did Nicodemous go to him to be mentored?
All of these people as they sit on their high horses. You know they know where Alaska is. Buy a ticket to Anchorage, rent a car and go to Wasilla Alaska if they think their guidance is so important. I am sure she will welcome them the same way when the Cruise ship showed up she welcomed Bill Krystal and Dick Morris. My guess is they will learn more from her than the other way around.
Thanks, Bro, for your great post. I always enjoy the words from someone who loves our English language.
You also revealed to us that Sarah had the ability to rise above our human capacity in a counter intuitive way that seemed like she had a divine power.
I have never seen anyone come close to that. Her supreme self confidence is the most intriguing part of her enigma.
How did she acquire that?
VIVA SARAH !
Apparently President Obama called insulation "sexy" during his speech today. I wonder if Michelle is jealous? I wonder if TOTUS blushed?
PEC:
Absolutely brilliant in your analysis. I bet there were adults in the days of Mozart who thought young Wolfgang should be molded in a certain musical direction.
She doesn't take calls. That's the frustration.
Sorry if I haven't been posting much for the last couple of days....but I guess I'm suffering from weather related depression and a little worry. For the second time in a week, it's been raining here for > 24 hour stretches, this last one close to 72 straight hours of rain. We have flash flood watches for 42 of our 64 parishes (counties to you yanks) and flood warnings for 15 different rivers and bayous. Should our state need help from emergency services, do I trust this administration or this homeland security czar....no I don't.
But, the rain is supposed to stop this afternoon and the forecast is for days and days of sunshine to come......I miss the sun......with God's protection this too will pass...... and we will be able to participate in the coming holy celebration of birth
Guys, I hear what you are saying.
but if you think she's going to waltz into DC and kick some a** like she did in AK, you have another thing coming.
I'm not saying she needs to "get in line" - not at all.
What I am saying is that she is a rookie quarterback, a superstar yes, but she needs big strong lineman, defenders, etc.
And no one answered my question:
- exactly how is she going to line up 1,000 political appointees and 4,000 other appointees so that her Administration is effective DAY 1 ?
I do agree these old farts need to play her game, but still, Washington is A LOT BIGGER than Juneau and Alaska.
I think she is up to it, what I'm saying is she CANNOT be effective as a total outsider.
That's her prerogative. Beware of Greeks bearing false gifts. All that glitters is not gold. A wolf in sheep's clothing.
happymullah,
Most welcome, Bro!!!!
Sarah and her life are a kind of Mystery of Divine Love. We may never, nay, will never, fully understand it. However, enjoy it we can; be thankful for it we can; strive to imitate it we can!!
God bless!!
Brianus
Guys, let me pick it up here again.
Once Sarah gets Reagan's Army working for her, then it will be known that IT.IS.UNSTOPPABLE.
A leader needs Generals, Colonels, Captains, Lieutenants, Sergeants, Corporals, and Privates.
- Barbarians are good too.
But she can't do it alone, and she can't be effective without GOOD inside help
- help from Reagan's Army, not Bush and certainly not McCain.
Pat, I live in Berkeley, CA, the heart of the beast, so to speak!!
PEC, I would love to, but I may have jury duty that day. I requested an extension last year. When you do that, in my county, Alameda County, you have to name an "available" day. I named 8 February, of all things!!! Groan!!! The day seemed so right at the time re my work schedule, etc.....
I shall pray right now, Kjan!!!
sorry to hear that Brianus :)
The People's Governor will be speaking in San Antionio in January.......so our Texas peeps have something to look forward to. Something to do with the Tea Parties, I think.
Sorry....here's the link:
http://teapartysupport.com/national-conservative-symposium/speakers/
Praise the Lord! Jumpin' up and down on these raggedy old knees again! Mrs. OldDude is now 7 years cancer free and joins in the celebration of life!
Fine, but let her decide first. Look, she is focused on 2010 right now; that's apparent. Should she decide to run for 2012, then I'm sure she'll be ready to reach out to people whom she thinks will be effective and helpful to her.
But putting the pressure on her now, to decide NOW who will be in her circle, is a tad bit frustrating. Not from you, Bill, but these folks who are "whispering" that she's not playing the game and she won't take their calls. Frankly, I've heard that before from those inside the beltway, as a way to discredit her, but those turned out to be false.
I'm sure right now, she's busy organizing and raising money. If she finds that she's effective in 2010, finds that she has a boatload of money and more available to her, and finds that the climate is right for her to make a run, she'll do it. Then, she'll be ready to bring some insiders in to help her. Right now, she's laying the foundation of MONEY and organization. She seems to be doing a damn fine job at those two things, so she most likely doesn't want to bring insiders into her camp right now. As it gets closer to her decision, she may bring them into her fold.
There are many things I love about Sarah Palin but one of her key assets is to know when to seize an opportunity and go for the brass ring. Notice how positive Sarah was in her SarahPAC e-mail about 'taking the country back' and blazing the trails in the lower 48 and ending up helping her select candidates.
If anyone perceives from her e-mail that Sarah's primary desire in life is to become a celebritard or Oprah's successor then you deserve all the umbrage that will be levelled at you.
Bill - you make a good point. I suspect the answer might be (a) some able and experienced insiders have already stepped forward and confidentially assured her of their willingness to help and serve; (b) it's still too early for her to worry about the entire slate of appointees (she may decide not to run); (c) there's thousands of extra-ordinary barbarians able to serve (no joke); and (d) she will continue to take counsel from above and watch and wait for doors to open; He hasn't failed her yet.
My two cents.
I am not an expert on this subject so I would appreciate some feedback, Philip Klein at the American Spectator is claiming that the Senate Compromise (bringing Lieberman on board) is NOT substantially different from Romneycare (no public option and no Medicare expansion) and that Romney will be left in a precarious position trying to defend Romneycare but attacking the federal plain in the same breath.
Is his assessment correct?
Now Arnold Schwarzenegger is challenging Sarah on Climategate. Boy did she hit a raw nerve with various factions who support man-made climate change wholeheartedly. They all act like that Sarah stole their football.
Thanks, y'all. You ROCK! And OldDude, please give Mrs. OldDude a big hug for me and tell her that I celebrate her 7 years of recovery and look forward to having my own 7 yr. celebration!
Here's an interesting article and poll results for all of you fringe right wing crazies, especially you poll watchers (this means you techno:).
<span>Palin and the craziesIt is certainly not breaking news that Sarah Palin is the darling of the most extreme fringe of the Republican Party, but here's yet another data point on it: she's by far the most popular potential 2012 candidate with voters who disapprove of Barack Obama and already want to impeach him.
86% of voters who fit that description have a favorable opinion of Palin to 62% for Mike Huckabee and 49% for Mitt Romney.
That's a much wider popularity gap than exists among all Republicans, 73% of whom view Palin favorably to 57% for Huckabee and 51% for Romney.
By comparison, among Republicans who don't want to impeach Obama yet just 62% have a favorable opinion of Palin compared to 54% for Romney and 51% for Huckabee.
Romney is more popular with the reasonable wing of the Republican Party than the lunatic fringe, which probably hurts his chances at the 2012 nomination. Palin on the other hand is the most popular candidate at this point with both, but is considerably better liked by the crazies who already support impeaching Obama for...what I'm not sure.
If the 2012 GOP nomination fight ultimately turns into a two way race between Palin and Romney it will certainly be a fascinating referendum on the future of the party.http://publicpolicypolling.blogspot.com/2009/12/palin-and-crazies.html
</span>
I am likewise a huge 24 fan. I have all the DVDs and watch them in sequence on weekends after football season. Dear Lord, does this country ever need a Jack Bauer right now!
What is so hypocritical by PPP is that Palin is #1 among both factions, those who support impeachment and those who don't. So what is the purpose of their whole piece?
I would suggest is was simply a scarehead designed to perpetrate a narrative to drones. However folks on our side are not drones and will take the time to read the whole tidbit.
Gallup has Obama again at 48 approval today. No change now for 3 straight days.
And there's also the thought that perhaps 5,000 appointees are unnecessary. What are all these appointees doing anyway? The Feds aren't s'posed to be doing all that much, except defending the citizens and guarding our borders.
In addition to freezing spending, Sarah just may also order an analysis of these appointees. If BO hasn't made the appointments for a year now and the country hasn't fallen into the abyss, perhaps we don't need them.
yogi41, but also what I am saying is that in 2010 she has to take a couple of walks in the DC park, so to speak, talking with the right people, eyeing the wolfves at every corner, etc.
Then in Dec 2010 she will do what she think God is calling her to do.
I contaced JS-Kit and asked about the e-mails. All they said was "be sure you click on the 'Follow' button"
- is anyone getting e-mails ?
test reply
I feel for you, Kjanlady. The sun is so important to our souls.
Bingo, yogi41! I think she's going to travel the country for whichever candidates want her in 2010 and see how it works with the politicos on the ground.
In Kaylene Johnson's book, I think, she talks about how Todd & Sarah figure out who to hire or who they can trust by taking 'em fishing or snowmachining or some other nonbusiness work to see how they are.
Remember: VA's McDonnell wanted Sarah to come, then Gillespie took over his campaign and the invitation was withdrawn. And Christie's campaign said no.
Sarah has said more than once that she will go where people "will have her."
In the 2010 elections, she (& Todd?) will be able to find out in the trenches, who really "will have her."
Then, and only then, IMO, will she start making 2012 personnel decisions...
Since it's an open thread, happened to pass a TV monitor a few minutes ago and watched the Boeing 787 "Dreamliner" finally take off for its maiden flight a few minutes ago. Better late then never.
If Boeing had sourced all materials and systems from within the USA as I assume they did 40 years ago, bet the plane would have been ready on schedule. Just sayin'.
Adding to my own post:
Take note that Sarah is still working with some people from the '08 campaign and praises many of them from the B team in her book. It's only a few that she won't work with again.
I think the same scenario will play out in the 2010 elections...
Good point, hrh.
Of course, we may be staring into the abyss, but not for lack of federal government employees.
That is great news, Bean! Praises to God! Thank you for the update! God bless and take care of you!
Armey may be a problem. He is supporting K. B. Hutchison. Cheney and other Bush people are also on the KBH side.
But Sarah is backing Gov. Perry.
In other words, most of the GOP establishment are against Sarah.
We'll see how all this get played out in next year's GOP primaries: Sarah with the support of the grassroots Tea Baggers and some governors versus the GOP elites and the congressional Republicans.
Time is on Sarah's side.
She's gaining a lot of support (and respect) because of the spectacular success of her book tour; and she is going on a series of speeches and campaigning for her choice candidates across our nation.
When those candidates of her choice win the primaries and then go on to win the midterm elections, the GOP establishment will fall behind her and back her in a united front to challenge Obama and the liberals in great electoral battle of 2012.
The power of Sarah is never to be underestimated because nobody quite KNOW what it is. It's still and perhaps always will be an enigma.
VIVA SARAH !
An article by Martin Kaufman of Golfweek that started off as a commentary on the easy treatment given by the golf sportswriters to Tiger Woods that eventually provides an incisive comment on Obama's view of life and why Sarah Palin could beat the Messiah in 2012:
"...In America, we celebrate virtuosity, and on the course, Woods has it in abundance. This is the land of opportunity...we embrace, rather than tear down, greatness. TRUE, IT'S BECOME FASHIONABLE, PARTICULARLY AMONG SOME TIN-EARED POPULISTS, TO DISPARAGE SOCIETY'S TOP ACHIEVERS. ON THE WHOLE HOWEVER, SUCH DEMAGOGUERY SIMPLY IS NOT OUR DNA AS AMERICANS.
But that view in not out of place...in Europe, where egalitarianism is deeply ingrained in the Old World's fabric. Europeans seem uncomfortable with the level of success enjoyed by sublime talents...it's just not right that they've won so often. Therefore, they must be brought down to size.
...Europeans don't place the same premium on excellence as we have historically in America...the United States, still a relatively young country, long ago became 'the greatest nation in the world...America embodies this extraordinary ability to grant each and every person a second chance. (Nicolas Sarkozy, French President)'"
:-)
Bill, I have not received e-mails for ca. three to four (?) weeks...
Brianus,
Well said and rightly so.
Aren't we happy that we live in the time of the Great Sarah !
I rejoice each day knowing that underneath that constant North Star is the enchanted land of Alaska where our fabulous and living legend Sarah lives.
VIVA SARAH !
And that second chance that Sarkozy talks about is what Sarah Palin has been able to seize, and why I have never doubted for a minute after the resignation the ability of Sarah Palin to overcome 'the unsophisticated bimbo meme' and that Sarah's appearance on the Tonight Show with William Shatner has got the Obama war room in a tizzy, knowing that she crowned off her Going Rogue tour with timely panache and increased cachet.
Melissa Clouthier of Right Wing News claims that the Going Rogue tour neutralized any harmful effects that the MSM portrayal of her in the 2008 campaign did to Palin's political credibility and that she is now starting out in 2010 fresh.
I am bit more optimistic than Melissa. I think the Going Rogue tour before the Tonight Show had done that but Sarah's appearance with Shatner might have tipped the balance in her favor going into 2010. Is it just a coincidence that over the weekend the Messiah plummeted in the Rasmussen net approval index and in his approval numbers in the daily tracking poll?
I am in total agreement, happymullah: happy are we to be living in the Days and Years of Our Sarah!!! That was beautiful re her Alaska and the North Star!
VIVA SARAH !
Agree. Jason Recher basically was her handler for the book tour. You can bet Bexie will be on the team. I know these aren't the big names (though I think Recher's stock will go up) but these are the people behind the scenes that make it happen.
Kjan,
Replay some of Sarah's videos. That ought to help cheer you up.
Remember how lucky we are to be alive today and live in the time of the Fabulous Sarah.
VIVA SARAH !
He seems to be hovering in the mid to high 40s right now. He did this recently in the low 50s for a while.
Sorry. And that one was close.
Do keep in mind that if she runs I see her visiting Cali a few times. Keep in mind for the Primaries Cali is a big prize.
Amen x10, Bean Counter!!!
Yes. You're absolutely right.
But don't worry. Her army will appear, and it will be a huge army, just as El Cid in exile.
Sarah is not just another charismatic politician, she's a mythical figure already larger than life.
Always remember this: Sarah is doing just fine. Things will fall into place for her that will seem pre-ordained.
VIVA SARAH !
You are right.
In the Fields of Dreams the watchword was, "If we build it, they will come."
With Sarah Palin it is, "If she calls, we will come."
Polls at this time is irrelevant and can be interpreted in many ways.
The poll that counts is how the people view the economy and job market.
VIVA SARAH !
YES, YES!! True story: about a week or so ago, I was feeling nauseous, as if an illness or something was coming on. I watched the RNC speech yet again, and some of the various interviews of the last few weeks.
I felt perfectly OK the next day!!
Bill - I am not going to argue and I understand your inside points BUT Sarah is going to do it Sarah's way. My guess is she is sitting in Alaska. If any of these egg heads wants to give her advice or mentorship then have at it. Think about the debate prep in the book. The "experts" were saying do it one way but once they sort of allowed her to do it her way it went well. Let your Reagan friends know that her values are similar to Reagan's but her approach, style etc are totally different. Same result just different.
Think of it this way Bill. If the individual isnt willing to go to her to give advice/mentorship do they really support her anyway? Sarah has been burned enough by "so-called" experts, she needs ones like some of the stars on C4P that won't turn around and put a knife in her back once things head south. Do C4Pers know all the ins and outs of Washington? The question could be do you want somebody that knows the ins and outs of that place? I do know this win the popular vote in enough States to reach 270 electoral votes and you become President whether you are inside or outside of DC.
Oh I shall indeed...thanks, PEC!!!!!!!
Techno,
Number 9 is absolutely brilliant. A big tent that includes gays, minorities and pro choice independents and libertarians, disaffected Dems and the classical liberals will broaden Sarah's support.
It's a winner !
VIVA SARAH !
I never thought that my thoughts that I made as early as March 2009 would be vindicated by a Leftie regarding how important it was for Sarah Palin not to run for re-election and to resign as soon as she could in order to orchestrate a huge conservative and Republican tsunami in the 2010 midterms that would propel her to the GOP presidential nomination.
From Juan Williams in an interview with Bill O'Reilly last night:
"If her candidates start to win next year, Sarah Palin is on the climb. She will be bigger than we are talking about today."
Remember that after the first Reagan-Mondale debate when RR didn't do well, one wise adviser finally said "let Reagan be Reagan" in the next debate.
VIVA SARAH !
Me either...no e-mails at all.
I think this where Fred Malek, Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin come into play. This triumverate knows all the players and they can recommend who can be trusted and who cannot. Having said that I think she'll vet these folks that they suggest big time and use her own smell test or perhaps get Mark Levin to do it for her. Sarah cannot be too careful.
By the way Mark Levin, talk show host, worked in the Reagan White House and is going to be speaking at the Reagan Library next year (I think it's in February).
Techno, my friend, you are on a roll today!!!
...and he was, especially in the crowning moment, when he turned the "age" question back on Mondale: "I will not make my opponent's youth and inexperience an issue in this campaign" (Or something close to that)--expressed in a way that only Reagan could achieve (at least until now, with HER!!) I knew at that moment that Mondale was toast!!
I watched that and knew right away the election was over.
I just love the Gipper.
VIVA SARAH !
It's not something one does, but something one allows.
Ronald Reagan had the disadvantage of being Ronald Reagan before he became President Reagan.
Sarah has the advantage of taking the best of Reagan prior to when he became President and while he was President. They say hindsight is 20-20 and in attempting to duplicate his 'wilderness blueprint' and echoing his policies he advocated and enacted while in office, Sarah Palin has so far come pretty damn close to hindsight being 20-20. IMHO, this is a primary reason why Sarah will be so hard to beat. And then there is the charisma, charm and eloquence which is unstoppable.
Why more GOP politicians since 1988 have not embraced Reagan , God only knows!
they're waiting for an invite.
I think it's 'cause they, as a group, tend to suck. Which is why we are where we are. Which ain't all bad. After all, if things weren't so sh*##y, we'd have no need for C4P!
