USA Today: Going Rogue #1 for Second Week in a Row (Update: Post-Ozarks Speech Open Thread)
Governor Palin's memoir, Going Rogue, remains at #1 on the USA Today Best-seller list.
Congratulations to the Governor!
Update: Governor Palin has completed her speech at the College of the Ozarks in Missouri. Since the last thread got pretty big, use this thread as the open one. We'll update if we find something on the speech.

Maybe that will make Democrats feel better when they look at the book sales.
Or, maybe not.
"<span>The implications? I hardly know where to begin: a) with unemployment rising all next year, a GOP blowout in 2010; b) certainly more job creation packages; c) no capandtrade; d) increased anti-Wall Street/Fed sentiment; e) third party prez candidate in 2012; an Obama challenger in 2012 (Dean?). But who really knows. "</span>
But, Perhaps Goldman Sachs is too optimistic.
Clean-up in Aisle 4, Nancy, Clean-up in Aisle 4.
Didn't the pundits tell us that she was 'irrelevant' and 'yesterday's news?' Makes me want to ignore pundits from now on.
Congratulations Sarah!
To offer some perspective:
# 42 True Compass Edward Kennedy PEAK #2
# 55 A Simple Christmas Mike Huckabee PEAK #26
# 113 A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity Bill O'Reilly PEAK #14
The first # is the current rating and the PEAK # is the highest rating that the book obtained.
Note....Huckabee's book came out about a week before Sarah's
Has any C4P read Huckabee's book?
Wow, defend, you got over her fast! Do you have turbo on that couch?
her = here
I am on a fixed budget and had to choose between Huck and Sarah. It was a rather easy choice for me.
Actually, the last time I checked, Going Rogue is only #5.
At B&N.
For the year. Among all books.
Maybe #3 by next week.
Maybe #1 by Dec. 24?
For the year. In 1 1/2 months.
Not bad for a first book.
I, defendAmerica, do hereby promise not to hi-jack this open thread like I did on the last open thread! Thanks for giving me a second chance TommyReport!
Defend,
hahaha, you were terrific.

I mentioned taking Rogue to Starbucks and reading it while holding it high with the jacket showing. Several receptive people asked about it and I think I sold some to them.
But, there was a die hard liberal anti-Sarah man. I thought in a month I might have a slight chance to shame him into buying it.
I was back today. He was talking to another die hard liberal. But, he paused to tell me, "I suggested to my wife that she buy the book for her mother."
Wow. I was amazed.
Another sale will be coming.
And I suggested that he borrow it and read it. He didn't respond but I think he and his wife will read it. He might even open his mind.
One day at a time. One closed mind at a time.
I hope someone has video of speech as it sounded like they enjoyed it. One thing for such she always keeps your attention when she speaks.
Ditto....You WERE terrific.
It was super...what would we have done without you???
Hey <span>defendAmerica,</span>
I just read the speech thread and wanted to thank you for posting all those tweets. Sorry you had to put down your beer to post - we all appreciate the sacrifice. ;)
gone to twitter and watched those threads yourself! ;)
Haven't seen you in a while, Irma. Glad to see you posting again! Your "America" video is still a huge hit - congrats.
i did it beer in hand yogi! command + C to copy and then command + v to paste from twitter feed to C4P comments. all one handed, so no sacrifice ;) But you are very welcome!
Of course you did! Why did I ever doubt you? ;)

RE: Huck.....um, you're kidding, right??
Apparently College of the Ozarks had an overflow area with another 1,000 people who paid to watch her speech on TV.
Also, Gov. Palin stayed an extra hour in Springfield to make sure everyone got their book signed.

I already have ingored them, long ago.

THIS IS GREAT!!! Are you in line now?!
When I was in line in Fort Wayne, IN my line mates and I made up crazy liberal songs in the wee hours of the night to pass the time! ;)
Hey check out what Gov Perry said about Palin.
This is an article where he says he doesn't want to be considered a presidential candidate for 2012.
You don't think ole Perry knows something we don't now do ya? hmmm
"Perry had high praise for a former colleague, Sarah Palin, saying she would be a "very, very talented and incredibly focused candidate" should she decide to run. But, "I think it's a bit premature for us to be proclaiming her - I'll allow her the privilege of making that decision," he added. "

Well done depends...err...defends. Thinking about liberal wardrobes for some reason, my bad.
How does the Guv only have 33k followers on Twitter?
That's how I felt with my experience with Governor Palin's signing in Orlando. I felt a bit rushed, but no fault for anyone but myself (I was really tired, and overly excited to meet her). I'm kicking myself cause I should have asked Piper, and her father to sign my book as they were there too! And Piper was twiddling with a pen. Shucks.
I started to write up my experience, but then Thanksgiving came and decided not to finish since it's old news now.
I'v been busy but I do post on ocassion.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I give God the glory because He is the one that moved me to make it.
God bless, Irma

she's only had the account for like a week.
she had about 100,000 on the old account when she closed it down. i dont think a lot of people realize that she is back on it, or they're already following her on facebook.
a lot of people dont tweet.
finish it Andrew!!! and post here when you're done. It is so much fun reading everyones Sarah experience!
Good evening everyone, I am excited to hear the Guv's speech at the College of the Ozarks went so well just read all of defendamerica's speech thread excellent job defendamerica! Wish I could have been there
She just started tweeting again on 11/18 and has only 30 tweets since then. She gets about 1,000 followers added each day
I think a lot of people are unsure of twitter, I only signed up on twitter because Sarah created an account I only have three tweets so far
She's pushing 1.1million followers on FaceBook
me too patrick!

Hello everyone! I'm sure the Gov. gave a heck of speech! I'll have to catch up on the thread below. I just returned from Bible study. While I was there, my car window got busted! Some CDs were stolen as was my workout bag with running shoes! The cop found the bag and shoes so I can pick those up tomorrow! I hope whoever stole the CDs likes a strange combination of country, Christian, and folk rock music. God is good!

You rock!! Thanks so much. Go get some rest. You deserve a little down time.
that's awful Whit. Maybe they'll listen to a few of those cd's and have a change of heart! the broken window is frustrating, but SO glad you got your hoes back!!!
That Salina Kansas event scheduled in Feb of next year is sold out as of today.
"A record 5,000 people have purchased tickets to attend the 2010 Salina Area Chamber of Commerce annual meeting featuring Sarah Palin, far surpassing the number who have attended past annual meetings, according to chamber officials.
The event was an official sellout as of Wednesday, according to Dennis Lauver, Chamber CEO and president."
“The last tickets were sold today,” Lauver said.
Don Weiser, chamber senior vice president, said this is the first time in his 34 years at the chamber that the event had sold out."

Maybe I will this weekend. :)

I am sorry to hear that Whitney at least your car wasn't stolen, a few months back a friend of our family's car was stolen and I think they did because her husband had recently died so they figured she was vulnerable
I'm sorry to hear that, probably was a Barry supporter.
Alas, College of the Ozarks is only minutes from my daughter's place. By the time I heard SP was speaking there, tickets were gone. Fayetteville is four hours away but couldn't afford to close the shop for two days to stand in line and not make the cut to get in.
I'm part way thru Huck's "Do the Right Thing". It has some good ideas. I think the Christmas book is a collection more or less of short stories. From what I understand, not political. More of a "values" kind of book. I really doubt Huck expected it to be a number one book.
Huck's a decent guy. I don't think he helps or hurts Gov Palin's trajectory to be supportive of things he's doing. As an Arkansan, I honestly don't think he will try to run again. I think he's moved on to other things. However, he would be a very strong asset for Gov Palin should she decide to run. He could court the Evangelical community for her allowing her to not have to get really bogged down in the social issues war.
My opinion on 2012 is that candidates will jump ship fast. Republicans are getting ginned up to get the White House back, and they'll jump into the volcano for the sake of the cause if they think there's a strong candidate. I see Romney and his entourage as the only exception to that. The hard core business wing of the party are, as I see it, die hard on Romney and will push him until he loses. Most of these other guys, I think they'll get out quick and hope for a vp nod, or some cabinet position if they think there's a winner.
My prediction:
Gov. Palin's next big move is a policy book on energy followed by a lot of speaking engagements. Then the levi c**p and the resignation will be off the table and it will be all about 2012.
This is Dr. Vick btw, don't know why it's logging me in as guest.
Just wait until it falls. The media will be all over it.
The book from #1, that is.
LOL!!
Just checked the Drudge before heading off to bed and you all have to see this...
Army Cadet Reads "Kill BinLaden" during Obama speech.
http://news.yahoo.com/nphotos/US-President-Barack-Obama-war-in-Afghanistan/photo//091201/ids_photos_ts/r3812647092.jpg/;_ylt=AhI7ufHGgttRsTk6R2MnvAnDr7sF
That picture is priceless!!!
I agree, she will write another book. Probably on energy and how it ties into national security and the economy. In one of the interviews she gave recently she said, "I could write a whole book on that" (when asked about energy).
Also, In the end of Going Rogue she talks about how she didn't like writing about herself, and next time she will would like to focus on something else.
I think all the tickets to the event were free.
Dr. Vick, I believe that the 2012 election will be similar to the 1980 election I think Hillary or Howard Dean will definately challenge Obama for the nomination but he will hang on once again by a thread, this will weaken Obama when it comes to the general election, Sarah will get the nomination much to the disappointment of the GOP good ole boys, a RINO Moderate/Liberal will run as a third party candidate (much like John Anderson did) to feed off Anti-Palin votes in the GOP (won't get much support) the election will be a landslide defeat for Obama much like Carter
Yeah, I have a Twitter but I don't really use it. Tweets from important people, like Palin, are sent as texts to my phone so I don't have to bother with the website.
<span>The comment below was posted at </span><span><span>http://www.ky3.com/home/video/78369037.html</span> page:</span>

"There were sharp shooters on top of the Keeter Center. And parking was insane."
I don't think sharp shooters were there. That is crazy.
The media only strengthens her now with these antics of thiers with those people who may not feel pro or con about Sarah but see the obvious visciousness of the attacks and are tiring quickly of it or wonder what has them so scared and become curious about her. So the truth gets out. At least that's my take on it, either way it keeps her in the spotlight.
Is that part of President Obama's strategy?
This cadet will not be sent to Afghanistan!
We don't kill our enemies, cadet! We bow to them!
To all the numbers guys out there: (techno?)
Do you think that Obama's war in Afghanistan can hurt him with the lefty nuts who, up until now, have strongly approved of him? Im guessing many of his die hard supporters are also very strongly against the war, but I don't see them going against him for it.
Whit, He was only redistributing your possessions to himself, get used to it this is the era of hope and change, YES WE CAN, I Love Big Brother!...um I mean Obama!
I have been watching the number of supporters climb! Hopefully when she is done with the book tour she will do some more big Facebook posts. Like her first notes that were paragraphs long and had multiple footnotes.
Sharp Shooters, well, that is a possibility..remember, there are whack jobs out there that would want to hurt Sarah, remember the guy that threw the eggs in Rochester, the media with the "She's dangerous" kinda crap..I would not be surprised if there were sharp shooters there, she has to be protected
The die hard libs in congress are forming a Get out of Afghanistan caucas like they did about Iraq.
And believe it or not I am only 22, I only know all that because I love reading history
That one reporter who defend was following on twitter has his story up already.
http://www.news-leader.com/article/20091202/BREAKING01/91202057/Palin--others-awarded-at-College-of-the-Ozarks
You can bet with the huge success that Going Rogue has been, HarperCollins and probably a few other publishers are probably lining up for a contract for another book. I agree, the 2nd book will be about energy/economy/jobs/national security. I'm betting it comes out right before or right after the mid-terms, and will be a #1 bestseller as soon as it is released. Having 2 #1 bestsellers will be a distinct advantage over anyone who challenges her.
She probably will need a lot of help on that. She knows a lot about Oil, but how about the other sources?
"I don't think sharp shooters were there. That is crazy."
Maybe hey were refering to Mr. Heath, Aunt Katie, etc. They probably went out to get some air. Nice view up there.
Right now: #4 at Barns & Nobel / #1 at Amazon / #1 at Borders / #1 at Hastings
I certainly hope she is being closely protected, sharpshooters included...not only are there mental cases out there that are drawn to famous people but Sarah is gaining support at an incredible rate and those in powerful positions will see her as a threat. I'm no conspiracy nut but the people she goes against are ruthless and wont take it lying down, power corrupts.
And here's the other guy that was on twitter.
http://www.ky3.com/news/local/78383887.html
i heard perry being interviewed on local radio (houston) on my way home from work today and he could not have been more positive about palin- and he said he knew palin before she had become such a rock star and she was still authentic and down home as ever.
Was at the speech@ college of the ozarks... Fantastic college kids work there through... Fantastic presentation .... Honoring great Americans for their service...Sarah's remarks hit all the service to country hard work, selfrelient, not counting on government for personal satification, freedom, family
Great reception..spontainus applause and loud excitement for her every move.
It's a real special encounter meeting Sarah and Dad and Mother even got to meet her ant from Washington State and shake Trig's hand
If you are anywhere near an event...GO!... Electric!
Best of all Sarah... gracious, humble and real
Tired.. Post later... God Bless Sarah and Family and c4P familt
will post more tomorrow
if one of the cadets is reading Going Rogue, then that's priceless!=)
So, what controversy, hoax, or mountain out of a mole hill, will come out of this speech?
Did she talk about any coins?
Did she use the word pal, palling, or around?
Did she defend herself in any way?
Was she wearing her ring? If not, why, and how many reporters will be tearing the story apart for 2-3 days?
Was she wearing heels, and if so, what color were they and how high?
How many times did she refer to America, country, nation, God, and bootstraps? (All of these words are rarely mentioned by our current President. Actually President Obama mentions himself constantly, I, Me, My).
When will we hear reports of people getting up and walking out?
And they say she is irrelevant!
Hey, does anyone know what Mitt Romney or Tim Palwenty are doing tonight? Newt?
It ain't hijacking if your workin' babe ;) Good job on the relay tweets!
I think police sharpshooters were there.
This was a big event for the college. Had you heard of it before? I hadn't. Now I am very interested in it. It is a free college. No tuition. All students work. That intrigues me.
So, if you are college president, and you bring in Sarah who brings in thousands with national publicity, what do you want above all? Safety for Sarah. You don't want Sarah killed on your watch.
They had lots of security. The event was wonderful for them, and they are breathing a sigh of relief that nothing bad happened.
In Rochester someone threw eggs, but some day it could be much more serious.
Safety first.
Sarah is irreplaceable.
Alaska is already 25% renewable energy. I think Gov. Palin knows a lot about all kinds of renewable energy. She was passing her state for 50% renewable.
<span>Alaska is already 25% renewable energy. I think Gov. Palin knows a lot about all kinds of energy. She was pushing her state for 50% renewable energy.</span>
Good job, Gov. Perry. Just a little reason why I'm voting for him in 2010. He likes my girl, Palin! Joking aside, I really do think he personally likes Palin and has stuck by her through it all. Good man. Unlike KBH. Eff her.
Hi, Sandra. This is Jesse. You know who I am from that "other" blog, remember?.
That's besides the point, though. Sarah Palin is far more knowledgable about issues of today than you give her credit for. Unleashed from McCain campaign's shackles, she has come out swinging. She is in charge of her own destiny now.
The media can't hurt anymore. They threw everything at her before, including the kitchen sink. Romney, on the other hand, is untested on a Presidential ticket. Do you think he could withstand the same level of attacks Palin suffered? Because that is what he will face.
Sarah Palin has already been through fire and survived. The drive-by media has nothing left to throw at her that she hasn't already dealth with.
I know what it will be!
She said the word work. Alot.
Blasphemy!
That happens when you invite a rockstar to your party.

OK, I'm done cleaning glass out of my car for now. Time to catch up on the comments!
From his seat in the auditorium, watching Sarah, in tweets, he whined that "the news media was barred."
His ticket was free, as were all tickets. He had one. He was allowed in.
He was treated like a regular person. He whined about that.
Let's see if his report says that Sarah whined.
Huck wrote a book?
<span>"When will we hear reports of people getting up and walking out? "</span>
No, see my comment in the long thread. An anti-Sarah man talked during her speech, and said people talked during her speech. And he did.
Good night
Don't even say that word.
Whitney,
So sorry to hear what happened tonight!
Do you want us to come over and beat somebody up for ya?
She dumped bigfoot for an alien she met at Roswell.
<span>She dumped Bigfoot for an alien she met at Roswell.</span>
what happened? i missed your earlier post
Talking? That's an improvement over what they did to her at her Hong Kong speech!:)
<span>Was she wearing her ring? If not, why, and how many reporters will be tearing the story apart for 2-3 days? </span>
<span><span>She dumped Bigfoot for an alien she met at Roswell.</span></span>
RINO-Hunter,
Wow! Good one!:)
She's so fickle!
This is off topic I know but since the book is topping the best seller list again and making libs heads explode mabye this is appropriate. Besides it's funny, at least to me though I've been told I have a warped sense of humor. You decide. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cc35H5D0TTU
I worry about that too, people like her who challenge the powers that be are usually targeted for assassination, I feel uncomfortable saying that word here and I probably will get some flack here for using it but when MLK was killed the civil rights movement was never the same afterwards, it was taken over by people like Sharpton and Jackson who corrupted it to suit their own agendas, We need to pray for her and her family's safety everyday, I am Catholic and I think it is about time that I say an entire rosary for Sarah

The guy reporting wasn't that bad but the news woman had to throw in that word, polarizing, the #itch.
It won't matter what they say. Their words grow hollow over time, and are meaningless now.
Good! Because that was really just all talk anyway!:)
Seriously, thank the Lord nothing happened to you! And it is great you will get your stuff back!:)
Okay I'm officially old. My favorite memories are now recorded in history books.
OK that is it. I am deleting my post about the sharp shooters. I ask you not to say those words. NEVER!
tweet by candidate for congress after Sarah's speech.

I'm re-reading the president's speech transcript from last night from the white house website. They inserted when people applauded into the transcript. This means that the word applause is in the transcript 6 times more than the either the word victory or win.
Saddening.
for some reason i can not pull up the videos- so how was the reporting on the speech. the one write up that was posted was very fair in my mind. polarizing is a bad word but if palincan get to the point where 51+% the voters really like her and only 30% or so are polarized in their dislike of her then that would be fine with me.

So thankful nothing happened to you! And it is great you will get your things back!
I'll be praying for you!
I have read many posts on other lefty sites that make it appear they are pretty bummed out. I would say it might lead to a little less turnout for the Dems in Nov. 2010, but other than that, I don't see them outright turning on Obama.
Ummmmm, lets seeeee hereeeee. (To self) Did I read the book?,...Did I read the book?... *looks around the room* thinking, thinking.....
UHHHH THAT WOULD BE A "NO".
;)
Good night everybody! Talk to you all tomorrow
Yes, the tickets were free.
Thanks.
I heard, but am not sure, that cadets were told when to applaud. If so, it may have been in the original.
There's a controversy brewing on the liberal blogs about a story that the media created.
http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5iOo_JCDFZF7EmBOl4RrQJ17LQJCwD9CBG5HG0
If they read the 4th paragraph, it says that it didn't come from Palin's people--but they only read the headlines.

Her next book on policy will need to cover serveral major issues including: energy, environment, social issues, war in Afghanistan, fiscal policy, the currency, unemployment, judges, and transparency of the Fed. She needs to cover all the major ones. The hottest button issue will not be abortion (close second), but how to handle border security/illegal immigration.
Sarah is on the bus to Arkansas.
If you haven't seen this take a look.
Clemmons murdered 4 cops this week.
This is Huck's letter to a prosecutor about Huck's policy.

Question of the day. How does Sarah manage to time her moves so perfectly? How does she schedule Arkansas and then, after she schedules it have this happen?
Does anybody think Sarah would pick Rick as her Veep if she won the primary?
Mitt: health care
Huck: murderer
T-Paw: shot deer, but only wounded it and couldn't find it
Who else wants to take on Sarah? Anyone ... Anyone... ?
Thanks guys! :)
This is the anti-Sarah guy.

That wasn't that bad, he got to stick a few choice words in there... but I think he was taken back by her reception.
Sandra, beat it you concern-troll. I didn't even read your comment to me it's a waste of time.

Moderators, can you ban Sandra-in-Oregon. Thanks.
I know someone who taped the whole speech. She's going to email it to me.
IT WAS AMAAAAAAAAAAZING!
No because they were selling a special event with Palin for $250. Our own Bestbud attended I think I was in the free seats.
Folks, this woman blew the roof off. It was electric.
She spoke for more than an hour without a teleprompter.
I will write up my notes, and I will try to get the video, although I'm sensitive because the person who videod it did so against the rules. Maybe we shouldn't post something against the rules.
Here's another pro Sarah video, kinda sums her up in the name of the song. :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yij4uAzo_K0
Mayor Bloomberg shows how to build tweet follows. He paid a tweet service.
http://blog.clickz.com/091202-170912.html
And wow, he built from 12,000 to 14,500 followers.
Whereas, Sarah, without paying, and with few tweets, has only 33,478.
Oh, I guess that is more. Never mind.
Speaking of tweets, here's Sarah's latest two:

I think it's called Divine management.
Sandra is a Trig Truther. 'Nuff said.
Pawlenty just can't energize the base. I think he could put it to sleep, though.
Hey Sarah, you are heading into snow. Get the snow tires on the bus for that trip to central Texas.
Climate change is bringing snow to Texas. For Sarah.
I'm sorry for you Pip, I know you must fell Violated. But your safe, and that's what really matters.
God Bless

God Bless Sarah, and keep her Safe.

About to go to bed after my crazy night and lo and behold Sarah and the LOTUS are at it again:
My parents and I just had a wonderful time at “Hard Work U” – the school motto of College of the Ozarks. It earned that proud nickname because students there work their way through college and graduate with little or no debt. (In other words, a place after my own heart, and the hearts of others who worked their way through college and, like me, maybe took five years to finish because of work schedules!)
At tonight’s patriotic event at the college we heard some amazing personal stories of heroism and sacrifice by our military veterans in attendance, including members of our Greatest Generation, who we honored tonight. It was such an inspiration to hear their stories and affirm the principles that make this country great – faith, hard work, perseverance, patriotism, and public service.
All Americans need to hear from these true, proud patriots. May we never forget their fight for freedom. Their battles make the petty shots and irrelevant “challenges” some of us face today pale in comparison. I thank them for allowing us a healthy perspective and a reminder of what really matters.

There are some nice pics too.
Same thing happened to me in Richland. :^)
Manilow??? I don't think that Whitney mentioned anything about him.
<span>Sarah - On Facebook, 3 Roswell pictures are labeled Tempe. See NMMI Cadet, Hastings sign, and hat. </span>
Nice pictures.
Look at the faces in the crowds, they appear mesmerized. the electricity is palpable. this is why the liberals fear her.

Techno: this whole Tiger story has been like a knife to the heart. You've probably heard Jesper Parneviks statment about regretting ever introducing Elin to him. Ouch!
tiger is now officially a cheetah (per new york post headline)
No, I never heard that. Wow!
The golf community is usually very tight.
By the way John Ziegler is also shutting down his web site The Church of Tiger Woods. To say that he was disappointed with Tiger's goings-on would be an understatement.
here's the link. http://sports.espn.go.com/golf/news/story?id=4707629
The News Media knows all of this.
There is a reason that they are trying to get us used to Eurotrash levels of unemployment as the "New Normal". Palin should hammer this home again and again as mediocrity and incompetence in action as Democrats mismanage what passes for 'recovery".
Leave Bill alone. He was fair to Sarah in the interview.
Hope they get the bums. Sorry about your loss.
What do you mean T-Paw shot a deer but couldn't find it? You don't shoot a deer unless you kill the thing and field dress it yourself or take it in to get it field dressed. You don't wound a deer and leave it out in the wild to get attacked by other predators.
Come on, T-Paw!
Jesus, Tiger! Why do that to Elin?
Wow.
To God be the glory indeed. Thanks for following through on the inspiration by making the video, and sharing it with us.
Nicole - so happy that you were able to be at both events yesterday.
Americuda - fantastic lyrics, thanks for posting!
Can't wait to see or hear whatever you got.
Neo - thanks for posting.
All - check out the link to the local Fox affiliate. The video is great. As an added point of interest, the reporter in the studio would only need Sarah's glasses to be a near perfect look-alike.
I know this will sound preachy because, well, I guess it is. But that's why we should never build a "church" for any human being. They will always fail and let us down.
Even Sarah.
So let's be careful on that.
There is only One. And he isn't in the WH. Or in a bus to Arkansas. But He's most likely with the one in the bus to Ark. :)
Good for you. I had a not so good experience today; I was so angry. I was at a cafe and a table next to me had a bunch of women who are librarians in the main library. My ears perked up when I heard Sarah's name; they were all laughing cynically and saying how they would never read her book. I couldn't help myself (me bad) I had to say something. So, I said how I had read the book and it was a good read and even if you did't agree with her if you read the book you would have a better idea of where she was coming from, her psychology, viewpoint, etc. I said I read obama's books even though I didn't like him. When I said I didn't like him, one of the librarians said, "with that, I will go to the bathroom" and she got up and left. I continued talking to the other women about how I could not understand why you wouldn't read a book just because you didn't like the person. They shut up but were arrogant and haughty. I was so angry when I left the cafe; something about them really struck a cord deep inside of me; and I used to be a liberal and now I wonder if I was that obnoxious.
I am so sick of the political correctness in this town; I may have to move.
