Palin on Hannity and Greta Tonight Post-SOTU

She'll be on Hannity:

REMINDER: we have a BIG BIG show tonight @senjohnmccain @sarahpalinusa AND Gov Ed Rendell ... will ALL be on to respond to #stateoftheunion

and Greta:

tune in to a special OTR at 10pm tonight...we have gov palin, joe trippi, karl rove, bob beckel.....and more

But she won't be in the middle of Times Square.

Update by Mel: A game of SOTU Bingo to get you started tonight (we'd do a drinking game, but that would quickly lead to alcohol poisoning):

* "Let me be clear."
* "We have saved and created [insert number here] jobs with our stimulus plan."
* "Uh."
* "Unemployment is too high. The blame for this lies with President Bush."
* "Washington is a difficult town to change. This is because Republicans are the party of 'no'."
* "We are the most transparent administration is history."
* "Spending is too high. However, in the current economic conditions, to cease spending would be catastrophic."
* "The time to act is now."
* "Our debt is unsustainable. This is President Bush's fault."
* "We will cut taxes and increase services."
* "Critics would have us do nothing."
* "It's time to put aside divisive partisanship and move forward for people like [insert tragic anecdote here]."
* "I understand."
* "Americans like [insert anecdote here] are why we need health care reform in this country."
* "The previous administration..."
* "Scott Brown won because he's like me."
* "Does anyone have a mirror?"

Update II by Mel: A tweet from Katie Couric earlier today (h/t New User):

Just had lunch with the president who seems pensive, slightly deflated, realistic, aggravated and resolute. Didn't eat his pie.

Yes, but did he eat his waffle?

Having no sattelite or cable I am sooooooo glad I can catch live-stream FOX on the inter-tubes! There is no longer such a thing as out-of-the-loop and anyone with a connection can be informed up-to-the-minute. Technology ROCKS!

eclecticak, January 27, 2010 5:06 PM

Wow, first again? How the heck did I manage that?!?!?

Nancy, January 27, 2010 5:14 PM

Why do they even bother with the other people?

riley4palin, January 27, 2010 5:16 PM

Is this a first for Fox News to have one of their key Analysts/Commentators on back-to-back programs?

I don't recall ever seeing Rove, Morris, Newt, etc on 2 or 3 evening shows in one evening.

Score another FIRST for Palin!

Whitney the Pipsqueak, January 27, 2010 5:23 PM

Sarah and Beckel....hehe...I think it is likely via phone like PEC said in the last thread. Either that or one will be live and one via satellite. Greta's in DC, and Hannity's in NYC.

Nancy, January 27, 2010 5:28 PM

Rove-Pizza parlor size viewership
Beckel-Change the channel immediately
Sarah Palin-Stadium size viewership

riley4palin, January 27, 2010 5:29 PM

When Hannity teased us with "BIG BIG SHOW tonight, for a second I thought he scored an exclusive interview with Nicole Wallace.

Whitney the Pipsqueak, January 27, 2010 5:29 PM

Sarah and Beckel...hehe...

I think it is probably via phone like PEC said in the previous thread. At least only one would be in studio if either are, Greta's in DC, and Hannity's in NYC.

Beehive, January 27, 2010 5:31 PM

So, what channel is Pawlenty or Huck or Romney on?

Been waiting all day. I am pretty excited to hear their comments. haha

Ted Torgerson, January 27, 2010 5:31 PM

They give out the text before hand so she should have a few bludgeons from the night stick ready.

Beckel's head will explode. Hannity will have nothing to throw a football at anymore.

techno, January 27, 2010 5:32 PM

Sarah will be giving the "real" rebuttal to the SOTU regardless of how McDonnell does or says or what the MSM says.

The Facebook post on Monday was like a "walk-through" practice in football. Tonight will be zero hour.

chicago's conservative, January 27, 2010 5:39 PM

Obama is going to try and pretend to the public that he's "listening" to them by adopting this new 3 year spending freeze. We all know it's more of a gimmick than anything else. It will be interesting to see if he particularly addresses any of Sarah's recent objections. He's already done it before. Of course, he won't mention her by name but we all know that she's definitely in his head.

My belief is this speech will again be a lot of fluff and not much substantive policy changes. I really doubt that we're going to get a Clintonian "The era of big government is over" kind of speech. He does not have that in him.

Hal, January 27, 2010 5:40 PM

So anybody know is she in studio, or via phone again?

New User, January 27, 2010 5:44 PM

It's Katie Couric!!! And she's.... eating pie with Obama?

I vote Clinton.

If I had one suggestion for Fox News I think they should give Sarah Palin a regular two minute segment on BOR, Hannity, or Baier that she discusses issues regarding the current culture or Zeitgeist as they pop up.

Why have Governor Palin on Fox News after the SOTU?
90% chance she will utter the word: backasswards
95% chance the words, hell no, will come out of her mouth
99% chance she will snicker "I'm not impressed", about this speech

The other "analysts" are still in some phase of koolaid hangover, and would never have the intestinal fortitude to analyze it like it is.

drink a jar of pickle juice or watch smackdown analysis from Gov. Palin

AKReport, January 27, 2010 6:17 PM

The Insanity that is JD HayworthICYMI, JD Hayworth is running again John McCain. Hayworth is touting himself as a common sense conservative, but in reality he is a reckless authoritarian, not a conservative. Most observers usually equate authoritarianism with socialist ideology, not the American conservative movement.

An Authoritarian, not a Conservative
Hayworth attempted to circumvent the constitution and the right to free speech by attempting to rescind the press credentials of reporters from the New York Times.
Of course rescinding the credentials of the NYT’s is a common fantasy shared by conservatives, but the difference between Hayworth and actual common sense conservatism, is that reasonable Republicans do not go public with the idea (and legislation), trying to make the dream a reality.

A Record of Corruption (Jack Abramoff)
From the most damaging scandal to hit the Republican since Watergate, the words ‘Jack Abramoff’ are set to make their way back to the headlines, as we witness the reappearance of JD Hayworth to the national scene.
No other elected official had received more gifts, perks and money from Abramoff, than JD Hayworth.
Refreshing your memory;
According to the Center for Responsive Politics, a research group in Washington that monitors the influence of money in politics, Mr. Hayworth was the largest single Congressional recipient of donations from Mr. Abramoff and his family, his associates, his Indian tribe clients and a gambling cruise ship line that he owned, with more than $101,000 going to Mr. Hayworth and his political action committee since 1999. Mr. Hayworth was also a frequent guest in sports skyboxes controlled by Mr. Abramoff and his clients, and at Signatures, a Washington restaurant owned by the lobbyist.
Embarrassing Statements and Insults of Foreign Leaders
And let us not forget JD Hayworth’s mature and responsible approach to foreign policy.
Arizona Congressman J.D. Hayworth is warning the Mexican government that if they do not play ball when it comes to establishing a guest worker program to document migrating laborers, there will be financial consequences. - he [Hayworth] may seek to cut foreign aid to the country.
False Accusations Against Chinese Americans
In March of 2002, JD Hayworth’s cultural sensitivity skills were on display during a debate over a House amendment that would have barred legal permanent residents from making political campaign contribution. Instead of making a common sense argument that only citizens of the United States should have the right to participate in elections, Hayworth decided to attack Chinese Americans, by implying that they would assist with establishing of;

Attacking President Bush on 9/11
Many of you may have wondered where the post-September 11th, Michael Moore/Liberal elite “Bush was gone fishing”, and “on vacation” attack lines originated from. In fact, they came from the mouth of then Congressman JD Hayworth.
From an article published on September 11th, 2001;
Several Republicans said that Representative J. D. Hayworth of [...]

"What I INHERITED from the previous administration" he always likes blaming everything on Bush, but whenever he says inherited it pisses me off SO much!

RINO-Hunter, January 27, 2010 6:22 PM

AK,

I agree that Hayworth is no prize, but tearing him down to prop McCain up isn't going to help us, especially at FR. All it will do is get people more pissed at Sarah, especially if it's her supporters doing it.

Nancy, January 27, 2010 6:22 PM

TexMex, January 27, 2010 6:28 PM

OMG the President didn't eat his pie!

Katie, this is a national emergency. I'm so glad you alerted the public to this event. You should be awarded a prize for doing such wonderful journalistic work. What would we do without you? My fellow Americans, we should stop doing things that make the President feel pensive and aggravated because as we all know it's all about his needs not ours. Thank you for, Katie, for letting us know where the true concerns of this country lie.

Sincerely,

TexMex, who previously couldn't give two sh*ts how the President feels because she was under the false assumption that the President works FOR the people and thought only a person with testicular or ovarian fortitude should seek the job of the highest office in the land, but thanks to your diligent journalist work I now see the light.

NO MORE drinking games for me when O-zero makes a speach, it took 10 years off my liver last time...and the hangover lasted for days. That said I am psyched to see what lies and mis-truths Sarah`ll get to excoriate in the after-analysis.

What are you really trying to say?

TexMex, January 27, 2010 6:35 PM

Thank you! Hayworth is a BAD candidate. He's a buffoon and one need only search YouTube to find videos of his past statements. McCain may not be the best conservative but he's a credible voice against Obama. Hayworth is not and he hurts our side.

Bestbud, January 27, 2010 6:36 PM

All Sarah would have to do tonight is pass out her VP speech... and say, "Read It And Weep"

How come in their ads for the SOTU tonight, FOX does not mention Sarah will be on tonight? I know she will but I find it strange they wouldn't advertise it.

hrh, January 27, 2010 7:09 PM

Yep, he's no centrist Bill Clinton.

He's doubling down in the left liberal.

This is good 'cause his ratings will fall farther. And since he's weak, I don't think Congress will listen to his request ...

hrh, January 27, 2010 7:12 PM

This man LOVES himself.

He wants to take up the most time.

So that people give up and tune out, thus missing the GOP response and the Fox commentary.

'Cause we KNOW Fox will be the #1 watched tonight and the only one with sensible commentary.

But people have to work tomorrow and can't be staying up until midnight.

This man does NOT work for the people. He wants to be an American Idol not an American President. But he probably can't sing. More's the pity ...

Whitney the Pipsqueak, January 27, 2010 7:16 PM

There is no need for this speech to be that long which leads me to believe he's not going to put the shovel down. Surest way to determine if he was going to put down the shovel would be a short speech, ahem:

"My fellow Americans and putzes in Congress, I completely understand that you all are angry with the way things are right now, so I will stop poking the bear. Juice and cookies will be served outside. Thank you, and you may now go back to watching Glee."
