HillBuzz: The Reason Sarah Palin Will Be President in 2012, Distilled in One Picture

In last night's open thread, Tommy Report posted a picture of Governor Palin at Rick Perry's rally mocking the media elites by writing the words "Hi Mom" on her hand. Below is another picture of Governor Palin toying with the hapless left in a manner reminiscent of a barn cat toying with a mouse it just caught:

Today, our friends at HillBuzz put Governor Palin hilarious yet subtle dig in perspective:

Hi Mom.

That’s what Sarah Palin wrote on her hand today, technically, before speaking at a campaign rally for Rick Perry in Texas.

“Hi Mom” can also be loosely translated as “F-U, Lefties”.

Here’s what Sarah Palin did today, and why it’s not only brilliant, but it’s the chief reason this woman will be our 45th President.

She hit the Left back, in a subtle way that drives them crazy. THAT, friends, is quite an art form. We respect everyone alive who practices this sort of Fu.

Palin knew the Left, particularly the Huffington Post, has been trying to create an issue of several words Palin wrote on her hand before the Tea Party Convention speech yesterday: Energy, Taxes, American Spirit.

[...]

Palin is quick with responses to the lunatics on the Left, which is remarkable. She gets in front of a story before it becomes an issue. She hits back hard when needed, but can use more subtle smacks when those are more appropriate.

We think she effectively disarmed this issue, in a humorous, fun way that’s relatable to average Americans.

Her ninja throwing star Facebook dispatches are well-crafted and deadly to her opponents.

Today, she proved her more subtle hits can be just as effective.

This woman has all the skills she needs to become President in two years.

Read the rest of the HillBuzz post here. I still can't believe the left is making an issue of this. Their Messiah can't speak to 6th graders or perform the most basic activities without the use of a teleprompter.

Exit Question: Do liberals really want to travel down this road?

First? The guys over at hillbuzz are great. I loved how Sarah diffused it in such a humorous way. She knows how to make the left look like the dememted fools they are and they don't like it one bit which makes me really happy!

Whitney the Pipsqueak, February 8, 2010 9:07 PM

Governor Palin adds an additional plank to the ideological platform for conservatives: sarcasm. Conservatism may be built on limited government, sanctity of life, and strong national security, but that extra plank of sarcasm, the unique way of connecting to the American people through humor and raw sincerity as only Gov. Palin can, is the plank that will bridge the gap between government and the American people.

Ted Torgerson, February 8, 2010 9:08 PM

That picture looks like a winning ticket in 2012. Two people I trust to get America back on the right track.

OT: I hate to keep beating this drum, but did everybody read Canary's report on the Houston event yet? She sent it to C4P and me. I just wanted to make sure everyone read it.

Whitney the Pipsqueak, February 8, 2010 9:11 PM

I read it, Patrick. Thanks for posting.

wisetrog, February 8, 2010 9:18 PM

The reason why liberals bring it up is because Obama uses teleprompter as a crutch. They see the Right mocking their prophet and they've been to mock Sarah similarly. It's projection and transference.

wisetrog, February 8, 2010 9:20 PM

Quite interesting. Slowly but surely Rome is being built.

LOL, love those Hillbuzz boys! Bless them!

What an awesome post! Thank you C4P for linking to it.

keep on fighting Sarah, you have millions of Palin democrats and Independents backing you all the way to the White House~

Firelight, February 8, 2010 9:31 PM

a marathon! She will pace herself to make sure she has the most momentum and energy at the end.

Firelight, February 8, 2010 9:33 PM

My question for the Palin Democrats is this:

What happens if 2012 is Palin vs Clinton? Where will the Palin Democrats end up? Will they go back to Hillary or will they continue to fight for Sarah?

PatrickinOH, February 8, 2010 9:37 PM

That's really good to hear Nancy! Any video yet? BTW don't you mean Rachael Maddow? ;)

an lifelong democrat-soon-2-B-independent, February 8, 2010 9:38 PM

There are 2 sets, some Hillary-Palin dems / PUMAs will vote and campaign for Hillary should she run in 2012, there are others like me who as much I still do respect Hillary feel Sarah represents my views more, so I will not be voting or fundraising for Hillary this second time around, and go with Palin.

In both cases, there will no sexism tolerated against Sarah or Hillary, and I would hope camps Palin and Hillary (should both run) not tolerate any sexism against either of these 2 ladies.

Attack either one on policies, but no sexist nonsense.

an lifelong democrat-soon-2-B-independent, February 8, 2010 9:39 PM

I should add Hillbuzz is in the first camp, if its Hillary vs Sarah, they will back Hillary, if Hillary does not run, then its Sarah all the way.

PatrickinOH, February 8, 2010 9:39 PM

I've always heard that if Hillary ran in 2012 that the guys over at hillbuzz would support her over Sarah, I could be wrong though.

PatrickinOH, February 8, 2010 9:42 PM

Looks like I wasn't wrong, never mind.

TangledThorns, February 8, 2010 9:44 PM

Oh man, that was painful watching Obama like that. Send this man a teleprompter stat!

Firelight, February 8, 2010 9:45 PM

Thanks, I completely agree with you. I love the Hillbuzz boys and understand their loyalty to Hillary. I was curious because I do know so many PUMA's that love both and it does intrigue me as to what would happen should they be in a head to head election.

I saw that too. I liked this from the Hllbuzz article - 'Below is another picture of Governor Palin toying with the hapless left in a manner reminiscent of a barn cat toying with a mouse it just caught'

Sarah really does know how to push the buttons of the media on the left!

james23, February 8, 2010 9:48 PM

Dang, that Obama video is tough to watch. It almost feels cruel to listen in. I've gone blank in Court before, its not a great feeling. Extemporaneous speaking is not easy, and Obama basically concedes he can't do it--hence, the teleprompter. I'm loving the 'Hi Mom' handgate flap--it can only show Sarah in a favorable light compared to what Obama, and most, can do.

Whitney the Pipsqueak, February 8, 2010 9:51 PM

Have fun, Defend.

manajordan, February 8, 2010 9:52 PM

The Hillbuzz guys are great. They have such a fantastic way of putting things. I love how much they stick up for the Guv too. Also, their optimism in his future is inspiring.

james23, February 8, 2010 9:52 PM

It won't be Hillary v. Sarah. It will be Obama v. someone, hopefully v. Sarah. All of the lefty institutions have so much invested in Obama, they will not allow a challenger.

Whitney the Pipsqueak, February 8, 2010 9:58 PM

Sarah's not running right now. She's training. Some training runs go better than others. Sometimes you face difficulty obstacles (ice, wind, cold....oh, wait, that was me at 6 AM this morning), but Sarah too may face obstacles in her "training". She just goes right through them. The Left has a fit about what she has written on her hand, so what does she do? She does it again, instead of the metaphorical middle finger, it's the palm! :) When you're training, some days you run and some days you do strength training. Governor Palin was out for a long training run on Saturday night, and it went exceedingly well. She may have some days when she's studying up (i.e. strength training). These days may her stronger for her runs, and ultimately her race! :)

Palinized, February 8, 2010 9:58 PM

Obama using a teleprompter to speak with 6th graders looks odd not only for the obvious, but in a regular venue using a telprompter makes it looks as though you are speaking to people in the audience. When your audience is below waist level it looks as though you're speaking to no one.

cookboy, February 8, 2010 9:59 PM

Doug Brady, February 8, 2010 10:04 PM

I heard a rumor today that Obama is so afraid of Hillary that he will nominate Biden to the Supreme Court (if an opening occurs) and name Hillary as his VP to prevent her from running against him in 2012. Just a rumor but interesting...

PatrickinOH, February 8, 2010 10:05 PM

Hillary is just another statist collectivist like Obama is. She's an Alyinskite just like he is, Obama just played the Rules better than she did. I appreciate that Hillary has never attacked Sarah (publicly anyway), but she's another leftist who I could never vote for, but I admit she would be a more competent leader than Dr. Utopia.

PatrickinOH, February 8, 2010 10:07 PM

I think we're also supposed to hate women too. ;)

"This may be Palin's unique strength. She understands the fiscal and values agendas of conservatism are reinforcing, not mutually exclusive. A nation that relies on God and family for its strength does not seek to expand the federal government to meet every need. Fiscal responsibility and small government are not merely economic principles, they speak to the moral character of a people that believes government has an important but limited function. In this sense, Palin is a fusionist who weaves the various strands of conservatism into a coherent whole."

**** GOD I LOVE THIS WOMAN!! ****

Lefties, please, *PLEASE* "travel down this road"!! ROFLMAO!!11!1!

I seriously have not been able to stop laughing ever since I learned that they wanted to make an issue of: The Hand of Sarah.

Would a 3x5 card have sufficed for them? But then again why waste paper and harm the environment when she could have gone whole hog and insisted on (nay, DEMANDED!) a TelePrompter as any well educated Ivy League super-genius would have?

On the other hand.... <--- clicky linky lefties

Taxman, February 8, 2010 10:10 PM

If Hillary should contest Obama in the 2012 primaries - it would be a 2012 democrat civil war. I heard on Rush today a story about Biden going to the Supreme Court so Obama could have Hillary as VP. Will be interesting to see what happens.

I don't see Hillary as second fiddle to Obama though.

PatrickinOH, February 8, 2010 10:11 PM

This is exactly what Reagan did. He united the three main factions of conservatives: social, fiscal, and national defense. It goes back to what Rush says often, Reagan showed us the blueprint for landslife victories, but today we ignore it. It seems Sarah Palin is dusting off the blueprint after years of it not being used.

Ceejay, February 8, 2010 10:12 PM

Palin fans like Becky Callas of Chico were glad they came."

"Yeah, that was awesome," said Callas. "We were so psyched to be that close to her and get to see her in person and to see her daughter and she's brilliant!"
Cathi LeFleur of Redding said she agreed with Palin's stance for smaller government and would vote for her if she ran for president."

You guys....this is hilarious....the Guv wrote on her hand again....Loggers Rock!!
This is a great write up. Go read the whole thing.

Sarah Palin received a rock star’s welcome at the Sierra Cascade Logging Conference where she spoke before the first of two sold-out shows at the Redding Convention Center this afternoon.

The crowd applauded as Palin strode on stage waving and smiling as she took her place behind a lectern before a mammoth American flag in a stars-and-stripes-draped auditorium.
She began by recognizing veterans’ sacrifices, and asked everyone who’d every served in the military to stand for a heroes’ applause.
After that, she read from a prepared speech, heavily peppered with Palin lingo that delighted the audience.
Loud laughter followed Palin’s references to “lame-stream media” and jeers accompanied every reference to global warming. Enthusiastic boo’s followed a reference to Nancy Pelosi.
She endeared herself to the logging conference crowd by holding her hand up to show what was written on the palm of her hand: “Loggers rock!” - an apparent dig at “lame stream media” who recently ridiculed her for writing memory prompts on her hand. And toward the end of her talk she complimented logging industry folks when she referred to an administration that talks about green jobs.

“You guys were doing green jobs before green jobs were even cool!”

"Wild applause followed many of her points, including:
- “Washington needs to stop lecturing and start listening.”
- “We need basic common-sense government with fiscal restraint and limited control.”
- “We need to stand up and tell government to back off.”
- “Sometimes I wonder if anyone in Washington has ever run a business.”
- “Washington wants us to think this is all over our head. Obviously, they want us to sit down and shut up.”
- “Washington needs to walk the walk.”
- “We need an all-of-the-above approach to drilling, digging and mining, and support for nuclear energy.”
- “A lot of green is wishful thinking … in the meantime we have to drill here now and tap into our plentiful supplies.”

"The people gave a standing ovation as Palin said goodbye amid some people’s shouts of “We love you, Sarah,” and ”Run, Sarah, Run,” to which she replied, “Well, bless your heart.”
A few fans rushed the stage waving copies of Palin’s newly released book, which Palin stopped to sign as her daughter Piper watched on."

Doug, Thanks!

Sarah and her Hi Mom palm pen'ning... is like sticking Kick Me on the back of the Jerk at the high school prom by the nerdy girl.

WOW! did our nerdy girl grow up to be something!

Who was it that said "We need her, she's a fighter"

Just listened to a Houston report on Sarah's motivation gig today... Im laughing my self crazy with joy and jumping all over the place, traffic, grid lock, hours in cars, extra satellite locations and still not everyone got in.... HOPE IT HAPPENS AGAIN IN CALIFORNIA!

Like the guy said at the question and answer secession following her speech at the TP convention, two words that Liberals hate: SARAH PALIN!

All Im doing I know, is repeating things and blabbering... It's not a sign I've lost my mind this time though. We hear of these people who die on the operating table and tell about their seeing heavenly things when they are revived. Well!... better call the doctor, because Im feeling just that way now, Im seeing a bright light and beacon of hope, as Reagan said about America, and It's Sarah Palin standing there holding it high in the palm of her left hand, under which is written... Im Honored to be you president.

Firelight, February 8, 2010 10:33 PM

Loggers Rock! Very good. I would love to see a coordinated effort at her next rally, with folks in the crowd holding up their left hands with a pre-determined statement written on it. Something like "The media sucks" or "Palin 2012" or something, anything, that shows the media the solidarity between her and us.

It's fitting that Sarah is speaking at this event today. Sarah's book benefited the logging industry. Do you know how many trees had to die so that they could make the paper for the millions of book she has sold?!

Sarah Palin kills trees for profit!

Sarah Palin 2012 !!!!!!
Good nite to all. What a weekend. Just loving it.

Pool Dog, February 8, 2010 11:24 PM

Good for your hubby on setting another straight. Still, what is with these people who prattle about her not being taken seriously? The left is in meltdown beacuse they are realizing they HAVE to take her seriously. Go Cuda!

Izzy, February 8, 2010 11:28 PM

Good night Denise.

CudaCountry, February 8, 2010 11:29 PM

I have never been so proud! I finally have someone to call my hero. Dang, can't we vote her in sooner than 2012?

Elektra, February 9, 2010 12:14 AM

I didn't see anyone else bring this up. If, they did, this is just an amen, but as my friend on another board so perfectly pointed out,
The phrase, “HI MOM,” uttered, mouthed or worn when on television is a time-honored indication of regular-guy [gal] status.
Sarah IS one of us.
I think that is a great message as well as her stance that she can handle these thugs and even tweak them a little bit.
This week has been almost as good as the book tour. :)

Umm....I heard that Obama didn't use the teleprompters with 6th graders. He spoke to the kids teleprompter-free and used the teleprompter to address the speech to the press.

frsbdg, February 9, 2010 2:16 AM

Oh, and that was the sixth most-viewed video of the day.

4.5 stars with almost 1,600 ratings

Over 4,600 comments, overwhelmingly mocking and ridiculing this intellectual lightweight.

Sarcasm is clearly a useful tool for firing up the base -- but it's just as clearly a turnoff for a great many moderates and independents (such as myself) who tire of partisan sniping. "How's that hopey changey thing working out for you?" she asks, and it quickly becomes one of the right's most quoted "zingers," despite (or perhaps because of) the fact that she's just insulted over half the voting population. It amazes me, even in this polarized era, that this is the standard of political discourse that wins plaudits from any individual who truly fancies himself or herself an opponent of beltway business as usual. Whether or not you consider it actual humor, it's certainly not sincerity; it's raw cynicism, carefully calculated and crafted to exploit voter disillusionment. It's an ugly thing to watch no matter how attractive the face that's spouting it.

The hand jive? Sure, it was an amusing response to a gaffe that liberals probably should have gotten over after a few hours at most. (There are far better reasons from the past week to fault this woman's character and capabilities -- her blatant hypocrisy with respect to the Emanuel/Limbaugh "retarded" business, for instance, or her fundamental misreading of Buchanan's and Pipes's comments concerning the "war card.") But the attitude isn't helping. If she's this nasty now, when she admits that she has a great deal to learn, I shudder to think how insufferable she's going to be once she actually knows something.

This woman will never be President, even if she decides she wants to be. That much is a given. The more interesting question is how much she'll manage to set back the cause of genuine conservatism before she's done with it. She may indeed be a talented barn cat, but let's not kid ourselves that liberals are the only mice in this picture.

Nope. Where is it?
