Good morning, everyone! Here's some Bob and Mark show. First up, the First Dude as an advisor:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUDLem8vFpk

And I thought this was hilarious. Romanian woman calls in to the show and blasts Obama:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7gIleybinc

And if you want some general Alaska talk mixed with a little bit of Palin, here's two more:

Okay, I'll stop now. :)

After that visit from "Guest" on last night's Night Owl thread and everybody and their mom telling Palin how she should act when she's pregnant, how she should raise and teach her kids, blah, blah, blah..... I can't help but wonder how many times this thought has crossed Sarah Palin's mind:

"My kid. None of your d*** business, and if you don't like it, you can kiss my a**!"

M. Minnesota, February 10, 2010 8:30 AM

Good Morning C4P!!

After watching Gibbs mock Sarah Palin with writing on his hand; it cannot be stressed enough this is what they think of this private citizen. If Palin gets into a Prez Debate with O Some how this could be brought up. The writing is on the wall. I'm amazed SNL has not done a Kindergarden Teleprompter sketch.

Have a Great Day!

Uffda, February 10, 2010 8:32 AM

That was an idiotic move by Gibbs. But then what else is new?

Angela, February 10, 2010 8:33 AM

If it does, then Sarah needs to point out their immaturity.

Mornin' troops,
What's everybody's big birthday plans for tomorrow? I think I'll have a repeat of last year -- some grilled wild Alaska salmon, a cornbread salad, and some kind of cake from the supermarket bakery, topped off with a contribution to Sarah PAC.

Bean Counter, February 10, 2010 8:36 AM

How's the wife doing?

Bean Counter, February 10, 2010 8:38 AM

Not scary at all. I think those med students are lucky to have you.

PEC, February 10, 2010 8:41 AM

Thanks Bean. A little better every day. She was even able to wear somewhat "normal" clothes yesterday (has a cathhetar) and one of the older daughters took her to Walmart and pushed her in a wheelchair. She can walk just not super long distances. Bottomline I know her. She was going stir crazy in the house.

Parenting is an art not a science. You try your best you keep what works and throw out the rest and you always love your children. If you do that then eveything else about parenthood will fall into place.

Gibbs just made himself look like a tool. We have a bunch of Pre Kers in the White House. Oh and hey Axelrod tell us again Sarah is a non issue......she is sooo in your heads. Ha ha!

PEC, February 10, 2010 9:16 AM

I read that. Look I think some people are starting to wise up. She is not going away. If she doesn't run in '12 it will be her choice and I dare say a family member. Trig could have complications, Bristol may be blount with her mother and say she doesn't want to be drug through the mud. Same with possibly Willow who will be dating range and doesn't want a crew of paparrazzi following her everywhere. Sarah's choice Sarah's terms.
Oh and when I say I don't want the Repubs to take the House and Senate is simple. It will be easier for Sarah if the Dems stay in power. Every poll further from '08 shows blame for Obama either neutral or going up. The further from '08 the more Obama owns it. The only way Obama can pass off this hot potato is if Repubs control Congress. Big gains will be nice, takeover not so much.

terri, February 10, 2010 9:32 AM

Uffda,^^^Don't really think that article is so cool. Kind of insulting actually, since I personally resemble some of the people this author talks about.....

..."It doesn't hurt that she's got great looks and five children to boot, and that she speaks the language of the folks out there in middle America. They love it when she says things like, "How's that hope-y, change-y thing working out for ya?".....

And the author certainly is wrong about this statement....
..."She's got that "it" factor that pundits, columnists, political junkies, and regular people go crazy trying to figure out. Now, what is it about her? Certainly only Barack Obama beats her on charisma and crowd attraction, and maybe not by that much"......

Or this statement, about "fellow conservative republican".......
...." But Palin's critics are legion, loud, and come in all political shades. Even a fellow conservative Republican like Joe Scarborough, the host of MSNBC's "Morning Joe," frowns at the thought of a Palin presidential candidacy".......

Just because when someone writes a piece about Sarah that isn't ripping her apart, it doesn't mean that it's a postiive one. IMHO

Uffda, February 10, 2010 9:34 AM

They can't all have her walking on water.

narciso, February 10, 2010 9:36 AM

Hmmmmmm....wonder how much he's getting paid, and how of that little Tripp is going to be seeing???

Uffda, February 10, 2010 9:39 AM

Rasmussen DTP:

-12 (27-39) strongly approve-strongly disapprove

-3 (48-51) approve-disapprove

Obama rising again for 3rd straight day could be because of his proposal to meet with Republicans at Blair House on Feb 25th to discuss healthcare.

Since Jan 30 the day after Obama appearing at the GOP retreat the day before here are Obama's approval/disapproval
1/30 49/51
1/31 50/50
2/1 49/50
2/2 50/49
2/3 50/49
2/4 49/50
2/5 46/53
2/6 44/55
2/7 44/56
2/8 46/54
2/9 47/53
2/10 48/51

This is the definition of poll schizophrenia. Frankly to go from 50 to 44
in 3 days and then in another 3 days up to 48 are wild swings in political fortune or finding. This is perplexing, especially with the recent Marist poll showing him at 44.

Uffda, February 10, 2010 9:44 AM

And this stuff about "I'll only pay you if you let me see Tripp" is such garbage. My Dad paid child support for three kids. He never saw them.

Bean Counter, February 10, 2010 9:45 AM

Yeah, I agree. Right now all I want to see in November is for more conservatives to win seats, but not take over both houses. I would be ok with a conservative majority in the house or senate, but not both. 1994 was too good for our side. It forced Clinton to the center, then he got the credit for welfare reform, cutting spending, even though the GOP congress forced him to do it. That led to his being reelected. We just need enough votes to keep the dems from ramming all this socialist crap down the country's throat, but basically leave them in charge so that we'll just have to endure one term of this nightmare.

terri, February 10, 2010 9:45 AM

One Tree Hill tried bringing Kevin Federline in for a few shows so maybe DH is trying the same move with a "non-celebrity"....however if we take his past history, he won't take off his shirt and show the goods.

The only bright spot: He will have funds for the baby.

Uffda, February 10, 2010 9:48 AM

Well I made it home.....last evening the World Champion Saints Came Marching Home and a few people from Louisiana showed up to welcome them back....they were happy......and I'm sure that at least a few die hard fans are still celebrating........had a wonderful day........my lunch was superb....oysters on the half shell followed by redfish stuffed with crabmeat dressing......my favorites....and I only had a couple of hurricanes at Pat O' Brien's while waiting for the party to begin.......I did stop by Gambino's......one of my favorite New Orleans Bakeries and got a special New Orleans Saints King Cake with a pecan praline filling and frosted in black and gold.......having a piece with my coffee this morning.....it's heavenly.....I didn't forget Sarah's imminent birthday......after much soul searching I selected to celebrate with a Doberge Cake.....a Nawlins favorite......six layers of butter cake with creamy custard between each layer and iced in dark chocolate.....the custard choices were a matter of great deliberation but I finally settled on half chocolate and half raspberry......wish I could share my bounty with all my C4P friends.......but if you feel the need for some exceptional New Orleans pastry......I will tell you that they do ship all over the country.

It's a beautiful sunny day here in South Louisiana in the mid 50's......I know that I will be drawn outdoors today to bask in the sunshine as we then expect the endless rain for the rest of the week. Hope ya'll have a blessed day and in the chilly to freezing areas of our Beautiful America.........stay warm and safe.

TEchno - I can't see the internals. Do you think that Rasmussen is tinkering with the #s trying to get a feel of realitiy? Another words with the changing political landscape are they struggling with getting the right Repub, Dem Indie mix. LEt's face it since Novemeber 2008 the # that would consider themselves Dem has changed for the worse and I would say partly true with Repub. Also after seeing Obama's mess what are the changes to Conservative #s. Any thoughts? I even think previous voters from the last election will change as the high spirits for Obama fades. Try to guess that as likely voters.

riley4palin, February 10, 2010 9:55 AM

Good Morning Everybody -

I want to thank everyone of you for your thoughts and prayers. I finally got a chance to read the posts from the last few days and was very moved by your kindness. This really is an amazing group of people that came together for their love and passion for Governor Palin and in turn are there to show concern, say a prayer, lend a voice, a helping hand, or a good laugh for each and everyone that contributes to this site.

What does that tell me? Governor Palin attracts good, warm-hearted souls who will be with her each and every step of the way. The support we all show for her is just an extension of who we all are in own private lives when we step away from the keyboard and go about your daily lives. So thank you again. You all are beautiful human beings with wonderful souls.

I also have finally caught up on the political world. I see that Robert Gibbs has officially changed his name to Dick and just got elected President of the Sigma Delta Sigma Fraternity House and will be hosting his first kegger this weekend. Should be a riot!

Just so I am crystal clear, didn't President Obama come out and greet the press yesterday afternoon and talk of bi-partianship and petty politics right before Dick came before the cameras and took a swipe at Palin?

It just goes to show me that I can step away from politics for 4 days and the White House is still the same. They have Palin on their minds 24/7 and are scared to death of her power and influence over the agenda.

Only question left to ask: Did President Obama approve the Gibbs stunt? If so, how can the American people TRUST a President when he talks about hope and change, and bi-partisanship, and getting rid of petty politics, when his own Press Secretary went against everything he said minutes earlier?

PEC, February 10, 2010 10:10 AM

OK let me explain leadership. Obama is responsible for Emmanual's FR statement, he is responsible for Gibbs childish games, he is responsible for Janet Ns "The system worked". As a leader you can delegate authority but you cannot delegate responsibility. Probably the biggest problem with Gibbs childish act was just a few minutes earlier his boss was up there talking the importance of bi-partisanship and low and behold his Press Secretary (who he delegated authority to speak for him to) throws a jab at the other side. So Obama is responsible for what Gibbs did.
You all know my stance On Sarah's Facebook postings. Sarah is responsible for them. She knows this. She is a leader.

ANybody notice Michelle Obama hitting the News Show circuit recently? Aside from Hillary who had her hand in everything, why do 1st Ladies start hitting the News Show Circuit? Historically 1st Ladies are popullar either party, so they are allowed to stay above the political fray and normally work a totally bipartisan issue (in this case obessity) and they do this to bring back popularity to the White House. Once she has syuck a band aid on a situation then she can move on and basically not be heard from (just some photo-ops) until needed again. Folks this is the oldest trick in the book.

Listening to Hugh Hewitt last night, Bill Bennett and Mike Gallagher this morning has been a joy. Those 3 and their callers seem to be taking her much more seriously, and they all defend her about the handwriting thing. The Gibbs mocking of her is backfiring.

techno, February 10, 2010 10:42 AM

Regarding the Feb 25th summit on healthcare let me use an analogy to put everything in proper perspective.

Let's say there are two countries Alpha and Omega that are contiguous to each other that have continually been at odds and had border skirmishes but no all-out war. Alpha's way of life is founded on individual economic freedom with limited government and Omega in contrast believes in the government micromanaging the economy and how people live.

One day in Omega, a new charismatic leader assumes power and not only does he desire to even further micromanage and control every aspect of Omega's life, he seeks also to do that with his neighbor, Alpha. So what he does first to prepare the way is to take steps to take over all the broadcast and print media in Alpha through insidiously installing Leftist administrators on each station or newspaper, he exports his conception of the Zeitgeist as evidenced by the films and TV programs produced in his country to Alpha to change their consciousness to become more collectivist, and he slowly begins to form allies in Alpha's legislature and government to introduce laws and measures to make Alpha more socialist. And this is done sub rosa primarily with the cheerful, happy, prosperous apolitical folks who live in Alpha oblivious to what has transpired.

After entrenching his ideas in Alpha, the leader of Omega eventually meets with the socialist leaders of Alpha to map out the strategy to finish the job and convert Alpha to a complete socialist state. By this time the conservatives in Alpha have awakened and are beginning to fight back and begin to organize to re-establish their former way of life as dominant, and polls in Alpha show that these conservatives are winning the day. But there are weaker, spineless but prominent allies to the movement who favor a more conciliatory tone, who are in total awe of the leader of Omega, see him and his ideas as too powerful to rebuff, and finally believe that former way of life can never be restored again.

So these namby-pamby appeasers agree to meet with the leader of Omega while in awe of him and to forever close the door to Alpha ever been free and prosperous again. Call them fifth columnists, quislings or traitors but the result is the same-the leader of Omega forces these dickheads to acquiesce to his charismatic presence, pass laws that impose socialism and consign their citizens into serfdom and slavery forever.

Meeting with Obama, the President of the USA who has the aura of office, is political suicide for Republicans and conservatives and more importantly economic suicide to its citizens and a pathway of getting Obamacare passed and consigning the American people to what Hayek to permanent serfdom with the government their permanent lords and masters.

And ironically while our side is on the ascendancy and with Sarah Palin drawing blood and scoring major points on Obamacare and Obama, these GOP jerks in Congress are more concerned with pleasing the Messiah and gaining the favor of the MSM than to restoring America to its former greatness, ensuring the American citizens its unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness or making substantial gains in the midterms.

This is absolute madness!

Angela, February 10, 2010 11:02 AM

You know what my favorite segment of the week has been?

When Greta interviewerd the lady from the Dallas Morning News about the Palin/Perry rally.

Greta: How many people were at the rally?

Reporter: I'd say between 8,000 and 9,000. Before that, Perry was drawing crowds of 200

Greta: So how many do you think were there to see Palin, and how many to see Perry?

Reporter: 8,000 to 9.000 for Palin.

It went something like that. I was shocked at this woman's (no doubt a liberal) honesty!

techno, February 10, 2010 11:20 AM

Houston, we have a problem. And for our side the problem is the GOP leadership in Congress and its members or RINO's in general who are more than willing to sell our side down the river; and Obama and his cohorts are fully aware of their weak spines, their cowardly attitudes to not stand for what is right, and the success of the squeeze play strategy of forcing them to always play the political cat-and-mouse game on defense. As General George Patton said: "Nobody ever defended anything successfully; there is only attack, attack, and then attack some more."

If there is one trait that exemplifies the RINO's in Washington, is that they are much too willing to engage the enemy with good will and cap-pistols while the enemy has our side in the crosshairs with cannon and rockets and wants to send us to kingdom come.

PatrickinOH, February 10, 2010 11:25 AM

Love the Patton quote techno. Did I mention he is one my favorite generals of all time? The GOP is reminding me lately of Neville Chamberlain, who believed that if we give Hitler what he wanted, he wouldn;t bother anyone. Like Chamberlain before them, they believe this will lead to "peace in our time." What it will lead to is a bloodbath.

As I mentioned before in a post my father had a saying for these types of folks: "They can't stand prosperity."

It's like these types of limp-wristed individuals can't stand to be successful, are the type of people who if they ever won huge in a lottery would blow the money in short order, or have personalities that insist that they must apologize for being in the lead, that they in the spirit of noblesse oblige stop the train from moving or slow down and allow the opponent to catch up. And in football terms they would never be like Bill Belichick and blow out other teams; they always would play to keep the game close.

RIP Capt. Harris.

techno, February 10, 2010 12:04 PM

First again let me throw kudos to AK Report and all the great work she does at C4P.

And wisetrog, I agree with you that it appears less likely that Romney will win Iowa. But I caution you, a lot of what I say, you think or what Silver conjectures is based on who or how many competitors enter the GOP race to gain the GOP presidential nomination in 2012.

First let me state the obvious as I see it. Palin and Romney are now 1 and 2 and for that reason alone they are both thinking of running and in the process as I write this of getting their ducks in a row. Huckabee is keeping his cards close to the vest and imho is really undecided at the moment and a lot of that has to do with money and whether Palin runs or not. Huckabee is not stupid but he does have an ego. If he only raises $800,000 in 2010, Palin continues to pick up momentum and widens her lead on the field, and Romney gets the endorsement of the GOP leadership, Mike has to ask himself does he want to give us his gig at Fox News and become a sacrificial lamb and realistically under those circumstances what are the odds he can beat both Palin and Romney? Thus I think if anybody that will not run it will be Huckabee.

Silver doesn't in his analysis give much hope to a dark horse emerging and challenging for frontrunner status. And at this moment, neither do I. If Palin were not a Reagan conservative, I could see a staunch conservative coming forward, especially with the backing of the TP movement and gaining traction. But with the presence of Palin, who is the darling of the TP movement and the conservative movement I don't see that happening especially if she widens her lead over Romney and Huckabee. As I have said on many occasions I think what we have now is what we can expect in 2011 and 2012.

I do think Palin will take both Iowa and SC, but it won't be easy. And what Silver conjectures may be a weakness in Palin, that is her organizational skills, is what may be one of her strengths. It's just that Palin doesn't let the whole world into her master strategy, but she, imho, is on track and knows exactly what move or action the Reagan wilderness playbook calls for at any given place in the process and she is following it to the tee.

Sarah's campaign for the presidency will never come off the rails from anything she does internally-it is the external environment if anything that will impede her progress or throw a monkey wrench into her plans-thus the need to bring on board staff who are totally familiar and conversant with Alinsky and the media and will protect her back on a 24/7 basis with unwavering loyalty who will not betray her.

PEC, February 10, 2010 12:07 PM

HE is forgetting something else. Check the rallies and all of Sarah's events. She may not do well with Females overall but she dominates Conservative Females. Remember these are Republican primaries not General Elections. Sarah wins the Female Republican vote big and it is lights out.

It is Noonan, Brooks, Frum and Parker. Then within the party oh they hate her guts for 2 reasons.
1. Look at what she did to the Repubs in Alaska. Do you think they want someone to pull the wool off their shennanigans?
2. Republicans believe in the next in line approach. None in the 20th or 21st Century were elected 1st term under the age of 50. Sorry Teddy was VP so when McKinley died he automatically became next in lines. So the Higher ups believe little ole' Sarah is jumping the line and needs to get back in line and wait her turn. These are the GOPers Joe is talking to also.
Folks let us just say for the GOP. Like McCain or not he let the Jennie (Sarah) out of the bottle and regardless of what the GOP does they don't know how to get her back in it. At the Tea Party Convention. Do you think the elite Repubs didn't turn white as Ghost when the crowd started chanting Run Sarah Run?

I had a "teleprompter"; it was a powerpoint lesson. Then, I led a small group discussion for 45 minutes. I enjoy doing these things ever once in a while as usually I'm sitting on my butt at my desk:)

Apparently this was a 4ish magnitude earthquake in northern Illinois that was also felt in Wisconsin early this morning. I didn't feel it, but I live too far south.

Techno - I think we can add that the no team for Sarah has been blown out of the water. That was how Palin wanted the press to percieve things until she showed up with at least one 5 star (Scheneunman) and several other talented players Rechers, Daniels etc. Plus a host of others that are very loyal (2 we really know). Sarah is hiring people loyal and ones that if things end will at least keep it to themselves. I expect a hanful more of recruits (with her having the luxury of not having to name names until late July and then if she intends on running the end of the year her team in place. With those names not being available until January '11 she will already be starting her campaign. Just shut down SarahPac and start Sarah for Prez.

Buchanan defends the right really well on MSNBC. Often times, he's the only reason I'll watch segments with him in them. Palin said that you're not going to always find the "perfect candidate" so Rand probably matches up with her core principles that she's looking at for the final wins.

PEC, February 10, 2010 1:00 PM

You can't argue with some people but this is getting big. Paul - Libertarians. McCain - Moderates. She talks up Scott Brown a lot - Social liberal/moderates. Sorry Whit - If Kirk asks I bet she endorses. This would be the 50% is better than 0% crew.

Midwestprincesse, February 10, 2010 1:04 PM

I agree PEC. But what we have to understand is that, it is much better to have an R in the House/Senate than to have no Republicans at all. Some districts just recruit a different kind of Republican and you can't change that until that Republican fails enough to make it an issue. I am sketchy about Kirk's endorsement of the Cap & Trade bill, but I'm willing to consider him based on the other corrupt Chicago gov't.

PEC,
He already asked a for her endorsement a while back, and she never said anything. Kirk won easily in the primary without her endorsement. I don't see her endorsement of him helping him in the general election in a state like Illinois, so I personally see her sitting it out. He voted against the ban on partial birth abortion, for cap and trade, and has an F- from the NRA. He's Dede Scozzafava in pants, and you saw what she thought of the Republicans putting forth her as a candidate. There are valid reasons for endorsing Paul and McCain, and even Brown if he had asked, I just don't see her endorsing him. I'm not saying she'd lose my support if she did, but it would make me question things a lot. I just don't see it.

techno, February 10, 2010 1:14 PM

The narrative that Palin is somehow going to fizzle like Rudy in 2008 is ludicrous and here is why I believe Sarah is here to stay barring some major health challenge or major scandal:

1) Her base among the TP movement

2) Her base with conservative Republicans in general

3) Her popularity in the deep South, Industrial states, Midwest, Rocky Mountain states and SW that are the areas most likely to yield electoral votes in 2012

4) her superstar talent (tell me the last time a superstar fizzled out unless they were on a personal path of self-destruction alcohol, drugs, sex)

5) her ability to raise an unlimited amount of money

6) Following the Reagan wilderness playbook to the letter

7) the lack of superstar competition from her GOP competitors

8) her use of the Internet and Facebook

9) her evangelical and pro-life support

10) growing support that agree with me that she is the only Republican capable of taking Obama and his agenda down

Whit - Agree that I believe she will sit it out. He was looking for cover from her just in case an outlier came up in the Repub primary. The little I know is he is only a little better than Dede. The only reason I would see her endorsing is pure politics. NY 23 is not the same as Hoffman was already closing before Sarah endorsed and all that did was finish Dede off.
Now if Kirk wins Obama's old seat, even if he is a liberal Repub think of the political tidal wave. She may hold her nose while endorsing but if Obama can't hold his own seat that would be a huge embarrassment for the President.
That said I think now Kirk will not asks unless he sees too much bleed off from Conservatives, then he may have to shore up that front. So far I would say Sarah has managed that race well.
Oh if she does campaign for him one good thing is it would likely be in your neck of the woods or maybe even in the lower part of the state. Would it be cool to see the Gov on the stump?

riley4palin, February 10, 2010 1:38 PM

"What's your read on the former governor of Alaska?" King had asked, setting up an exchange with classic cable television cat-fight potential.
"You know, I don't have a read. I try not to make, or set, opinions about people that I haven't had any, you know, substantive interaction with. I mean, I know what you see on TV and when --" Obama replied.

Insert me: Really? Didn't you make or set opinions of people that you didn't have any substantive interaction with when you said that "this is the first time I am proud of my country." Are you telling us that you spoke to every single American in our country and then formed an opinion?
------------------------

"Does it irk you when she criticizes?" King pressed.
"You know, democracy is about critique. And the president is not immune to criticism," said Obama.

Insert me: Um, Larry, here's a good follow up question. Do you think it irks Palin that you have your husband working behind the scenes with his advisors and the LSM to try and take down Govenor Palin?
------------------------------

Obama also declined to be drawn out on the subject of the Tea Party convention. "You know, I'm -- I'm focused on what's in front of me. And right now, that's ending childhood obesity in a generation -- getting this done," she said.

Insert me: Good luck with that First Lady. Until you publically state that parenting can play a part in childhood obesity, it doesn't matter how much you toot your own horn and throw federal dollars into the "project of a generation." Behavior is learned from what a child sees and experiences growing up. Childhood obesity can be from any number of factors including - emotional eating, lack of attention, lack of parenting, single parent homes, depression, etc. The Government cannot solve the issue of Childhood Obesity. It starts with what is happening inside the home.....much like everything else.

Why is she, a private citizen and not officially a candidate for anything, supposed to be giving detailed policy speeches at events that are purely political rallies? She doesn’t need to, nor should she, be the policy spokesperson for the Republicans. That’s not her role right now.
If she does run, will she engage the more wonkish types or run a mostly aspirational candidacy? I don’t know. We’ll find out when and if she does run. Until then, there’s no reason to bash her for not running the type of campaign pundits would prefer.

Yeah, I heard him go on and on. The MSM did go on and on saying that they loved seeing Obama get his "fight" back. That's why I'm wary of this whole meeting. Strategically, they should do it, but it could backfire. BUT it could go well too....so I'm really interested in the whole thing...haha

PEC, February 10, 2010 1:48 PM

She will. She knows she has to attack Sarah to get enough of her books to sell to buy a couple of cups of coffee. Otherwise they probably would not have even bothered publishing her book.

sarah palin rocks, February 10, 2010 1:48 PM

This is one of the best articles I've read regarding Sarah and 2012....... http://www.thecypresstimes.com/article/Columnists/A_Time_For_Choosing/SARAH_PALIN_LIGHTNING_IN_A_BOTTLE/27648. This pundit gets it! :D

PEC, February 10, 2010 1:51 PM

Apple and an Orange. Look I like Rudy. If Sarah named as her VP I wouldn't cry in a corner though I believe there are better choices. Rudy is solid on National Security and tough on Crime. Attorney General? You Bethcha'

Nate Silver is the new "expert" the media likes to look at. I find it very funny, because without looking at any polls at all I could have called the 2008 election state by state with maybe 2 wrong out of 50. With looking at ZERO polls and just going by commone sense and what I know about the states. It really is not that hard lol. The media likes to build certain people up thats for sure.

I know Paul Ryan is the new rising star, but didnt he vote for the AUTO BAILOUT? I mean come on. How can you talk about fiscal sanity and vote for a bailout like that to bail out the unions! He can be Sarah's vp or some other post MAYBE.....I think David Walker would make a good budget director for her.

riley4palin, February 10, 2010 2:01 PM

Thanksgiving dinners with Michael and Ron Reagan Jr must be such a treat every year. I wonder if other Reagan family members ever want to substitute Ron Jr during the 'find the wishbone in the turkey and make a wish contest'.

Midwestprincesse, February 10, 2010 2:03 PM

People on the far right might not like Ryan but you need to get the majority of the electorate and I think he's a strong choice. I honestly could see a Ryan-Palin ticket. I always liked his persona once I learned more about him. He's a smart guy and could take the Democrats to task. Republcians need to think both locally and nationally.

Has anybody ever thought what is it about Sarah? I Know I know all about the who we are and what we stand for but in all of the days of Politics have you all seen anything like her? It is like whatever you are suppose to do she goes 180 degrees the other direction and at least has people wondering what is going on. Finish term as Governor - Nope do it my way. Start a big Washington team in DC/NY - Nope have a studio built in my house in Alaska and have team members all over using modern technology. On the book tour stop at all the big Primary States - Nope only one stop in Iowa and made the party bosses mad by not visiting them. Speak at CPAC at be one of many keynotes - Nope will speak at this controversial Tea Party Convention and still the headlines for days. Teleprompter - Nope a few notes on the hand. Hit the Sunday Talk show circuit - Nope do one and get it the highest ratings ever for it and stick to Facebook. Write Newspaper opeds weekly - Nope Facebook with a couple of OPeds here and there. Have lengthy discussions with journalists - Nope. Read my Facebook and get ready Meg to answer a couple of questions. Have Daily briefs in a crammed office. Nope Daily briefs via E-Mails and conference calls. Cowtow to Republican elites - Nope Cowtow to the Tea Partiers. This woman has done everything wrong has headed in the wrong direction over and over and everytime ends up looking like a genius. By now the question should no longer be how smart she is, the question is how dumb are the people that think she is dumb.

The following is a profile of Ryan. He votes with the Party 92.1% of the time. I found the following profile informative. When Palin came on the scene, I immediately thought of someone from the Midwest that would be able to pair up with her and carry the ticket. I thought of local (I'm originally from WI) politics. My mom's a Republican, as am I, but my dad is someone that votes the candidate. He always said that the Republicans needed someone from the Midwest that would have broad appeal and that would be younger. I seriously think this is the way to go.

Midwestprincesse, February 10, 2010 2:16 PM

Hmm....what's your Romney appeal? He doesn't seem like personality wise that he could carry the ticket. Intellectually yes but he seems too staunch sometimes but I'm not against him. I just know the MSM will attack his religion to no end. I can just see it. I seriously think that Palin needs to be a VP or a voice on the outside. Don't you think she'd be great in the VP role?

riley4palin, February 10, 2010 2:19 PM

Newt and Pawlenty must be thinking to themselves, "how does Thune have more Facebook followers than us and yet, we are the ones talking about running in 2012?"

Mittens and Huck must be thinking to themselves, "if we can just push a little harder, we too can get 1 million more supporters."

Palin must be thinking to herself, "and look, this is without any GOP establishment support."

PEC, February 10, 2010 2:19 PM

To put in perspective she picked up almost as many on Facebook since her book tour as the others combined.

Midwestprincesse, February 10, 2010 2:22 PM

Don't forget her optimism. She's really one of the only "political" people that has shown me optimism among a dismal year. I love her catch phrases that she creates along the way. I am not sold on her being a President as I don't think that's where her true assets lay. VP - yes, RNC leader - definitely. Fox News Contribute - For sure.

My brother was salmon boat captain in Cordova, AK. Sank 4 boats over 25 years. He passed away at age 50. Very hard job and alot of alcohol abuse.

Palin: The single most important job of the Commander-in-Chief is to protect the citizens of our country with the threat of a nuclear attack.

Obama: The single most important job I currently have is to protect the American people from a dangerous snow ball attack with epic proportions.

RINO-Hunter, February 10, 2010 2:32 PM

Wise,

the Paleo right is part of the conservative sphere of ideology. We're a coalition and not monolithic. I think Sarah sits somewhere in between Paleo and Neo on foreign policy, recognizing American exceptionalism, but rejecting an "international democracy crusade" as she put it in her Hong Kong speech.

On domestic stuff, she's a traditional conservative with a libertarian streak and poplulist appeal.

Whitney the Pipsqueak, February 10, 2010 2:33 PM

PEC- It would be cool to see Sarah on the stump in Illinois, though I'd rather that be for Bill Brady (gubernatorial candidate, as of now anyways, results haven't been officially certified). Don't get me wrong. I would rather Kirk win than the Dem. nominee. I just don't want Sarah to endorse Kirk. While it would be a political move, I would think she would lose more conservatives than she would gain support from moderates. That's just my inexpert opinion.

RINO-Hunter, February 10, 2010 2:35 PM

Thune gained a following because he knocked off Daschle, who everybody on the right hates.

I looked at her FB on Tuesday night and it had about 1,301,000. So 20k supporters in less than a day and a half. Not too bad.
