What Robert Gibbs Revealed According to CNN's Peter Hamby (Update: Major Garrett and Brett Baier Talk about White House and Palin)
Peter Hamby from CNN tweets the following:
Gibbs probably revealed that the White House thinks about Palin a little more than they like to let on.

Forget Romney, how do we stop the Huckapalooza? According to HA, he gets 33, Palin only 23 in freaking Alabama. In which states is she going to beat Huckabee?
Ah yes, good 'ol Obama White House thinking they're smarter than everyone else. How are they doing with that Hopey Changey stuff after the Scott Brown win in Mass? Awww, not so good it seems.
No worries. The future President Sarah Palin will fix Obama's mess in 2013 and won't cry about what she inherited like he did.
The White House is SCARED TO DEATH that Sarah Palin will beat Obama in 2012..show me ANY OTHER candidate, or any other person who lives inside the White House's head 24/7 rent free..all you have to do is mention Sarah's name and they go insane. It shows how terrified they are that she can beat him..and you know what, SHE CAN
Sigh. I should have known that once I posted on two threads down, the editors would quickly put up more threads. :)

I didn't realize Marc Ambinder wrote an article about Palin today. This, from his post, jumped out at me:
“If the primaries were this year, I suspect she’d be nominated,” a senior adviser to one of Sarah Palin’s potential rivals confides. It’s easy to see why: no one who’s thinking of running beats the enthusiasm she generates among Republican activists. But there is more to the case for Palin than just the confluence of her personality and a vacuum within the Republican Party: there is a method to her management of her public image. It strongly hints that she has pretty much decided to run for president in 2012, unless something knocks her out of the race; it is more organized and structured that it appears; and it is something that Republican insiders, in particular, will ignore at their peril. … – Marc Ambinder

Just as Huffington wrote a semi-positive post on Sarah Palin yesterday, Taylor Marsh follows it up today with a post of her own:
"Mitt Romney’s lack of emotional connection with voters works against him, even as the economic climate plays into his strengths. But Palin’s evangelical roots have the potential to wipe him out in the primary. As for Mike Huckabee, Sarahcuda will annihilate him with negative ads on his pardons, so it remains to be seen if his current popularity can withstand her onslaught, which will be unflinchingly devastating. As Sarah Palin has no compunction about playing hard and dirty.
As for the Republican Establishment, Sarah Palin has no intention of going the Hillary Clinton route. Palin knows they can’t stand her, fear her and will stop her if she gives them a chance or waits for their nod. Something Hillary never grasped of the Senate Democrats who worked behind her back to encourage Barack Obama to run. All’s fair in politics, but Hillary missed what was happening all around her. It’s not that Democrats hated Hillary like the GOP Establishment does Palin, but people from Harry Reid to Ted Kennedy to Nancy Pelosi were rooting for Obama, some long before Hillary even announced, with key players offering their support to Obama in private and long before it was made official."

And I wanted to give a shout out to Recovering Democrat for starting the viral Palin Palm Pilot over at Free Republic. It was clever and funny and it's a great way to show the Progressives that they foolishly started a line of attack that they have no way of winning. Once again, they're ruing the day they attacked Sarah over something so non-newsworthy.

I just changed my avy at Twitter to a pic of my palm with Hi Gov! on it.
Written on Robert Gibbs' hand: Romney 2012!
<span>“If the primaries were this year, I suspect she’d be nominated,” a senior adviser to one of Sarah Palin’s potential rivals confides</span>
I am sorry but somebody page that doofus Morning Joke. Which conservatives is he talking to again?
You are right. This is an open and shut case of living rent free in someones head.
They are scared of her!
Check out this coment from a poster in the Taylor Marsh comments section:
<span>"As for her cribs notes, not the most professional thing to do. But, then again if Gibbs – after all he is the administration’s spokesman – feel the need to mock her, you really have to start wondering who’s out-smarting who?"</span>
LOL.
It's not the pardons Sarah needs to attack Huckabee with in campaign ads...it's all the negative stuff he's said about her. She needs to run an ad with all his negative quotes about "her looking better in a pair of high heels" and "Katie Couric interview was fair".
Huckabee has a head start on organization. And, people in the south genuinly like Huckabee. This not a knock against Sarah. I think this will be one reason why we will see Sarah spending some time in tradionally red states over the next year or so. I believe some of the Iowa reps have also made this point, that they think she could win there. But they would be a little more comfortable with that, if she spent some time there. My opinion, I don't think it will take that much effort to get them to support Sarah. Also, this poll is on republicans support. I don't think the tea party independants are included. It also would not supprise me if they were excluded on purpose in order to show that Sarah doesn't have support even in a traditionally conservative area. My thoughts..
We need to do all we can to convince Huckabee to sit this one out :)
It goes without saying that Huckabee is extremely popular in the Deep South....though I do see an opening.
Huckabee won 41% of the vote in the Alabama primary in 2008. So he's actually underperforming his total now. Romney is as well at 12% when he won 17% in 2008.
What seems to have happened is that Palin has taken bits and pieces from Romney and Huckabee and some McCain voters.
Yogi,
Ambinder wrote not just one article...but two about her today.
I use to read the Taylor Marsh blog during the 2008 Dem primaries. She has never been one to bury her head in the sand. She's a realist. While I highly doubt she'll ever vote for Sarah, she'll never underestimate her, either. But who knows, Sarah could change a few minds. Taylor Marsh used to be a Reagan Democrat afterall.
There are millions of Recovering Democrats in cyberspace... I can't take credit for this viral palm thing, but I support it 100% as a charter member of the My-Former-Party-Sucks club.

Hmmmm.....so Huck is sitting at -8 from where he previously won. He is underperforming.
Bret Baer: Strange (mocking Palin) to see that coming from the White House podium.
Major Garrett: Sarah Palin remains an obsession for the White House.
So did they basically diss Gibbs?
Hi everyone!
(I can't seem to figure out where everyone is...too many threads LOL. Oh well!)
I was re-reading the last two-three chapters of GR today. As I starting reading her descriptions of the ethic complaints and how ri-donk-u-lus they were, I actually started tearing up (not good if you're sick). I realized right there and then that I would never truly know the probable agony that she went through. Never. And it saddened me. Here I am, living a seemingly normal life with homework and friends, and she was IMHO suffering from crazy people who needed to put in a house for crazies and trying to destroy her. Yes, she kept going, but I don't think any of us will ever realize what went on in her heart. Yes, she wrote about it, but IMHO sometimes the written word doesn't always give us the truest depths of the author's heart.
I looked up what I'm feeling, and I think it's called empathy.
Thankfully, we all know that those peskies didn't get very far, and now joyfully she gets to throw back mud in their faces (all while having a grin).
Regarding Huckabee's lead in Alabama, folks you have to remember not everything is going to go Sarah's way all the time. She will hit some bumps in the road along the way. It goes with the territory. But when you are the frontrunner in the polls it makes it a little easier to cushion and absorb those bumps and to adjust your steering and soon get back on the road again.
As Rush always says you know who the left fears the most by who they attack the most.
Written on Robert Gibbs' hand: Sarah Palin who?
All of them.
I think since the rep's are not on board, it would be good to see some moderates and also independents, she has to stay focused on the over 65yr olds- the campaign stop at the villages, fl was an awesome crowd, and the people really came out for Sarah, and to coin her phrase, the votes did not "carry the day".
Sarah what can we do to garner votes from every age group?
Sarah 2012!
Which is why she's got to stay true to social conservatives.
Does it make anyone else wonder about this administration's focus and priorities, when it seems they concentrate more on Governor Palin and her activities, than on terrorists and their activities?
There is some interesting stuff " over there " . You should have a look .
ILY
Because she's right, and they know they're not.
any video of that? I missed it when I went to pay the pizza man lol.
Folks forget this poll. I live on the outskirts of Augusta Georgia. Palin beats Huckabee. Trust me the mind set where I live is just like Alabama. IF those #s were reversed with Huck and Palin it may be close. The only ones that may stick with Huck are 60 and over and even them it would be more like this poll. If this poll doesn't seem off then think about this. Why would somebody poll Alabama with this question? If this was South Carolina it would make sense but not Alabama. Sarah dominates Southern Women. Trust me.
I took a picture of my hand with a b-day greeting for the Gov, and then I saved it to the computer, I clicked on my avatar to change it and everytime I do it it just goes back to my current avatar. What am I doing wrong?
Amen. I live in the south also and no one is enthusiastic about the Huckster. Relatives in Arkansas say the same. Should Saeah run I think she will sweep the Southeast, except MAYBE Florida.
The way you defeat Huckabee is focus on his record of spending....and spending....and spending. He is a socon and that's it. He is a liberal in other ways including fiscal issues and business. He is for crony-capitalism (see Tyson Foods).
The other way you attack him for his poor judgment in letting over a thousand convicts out.
Mitt......Romneycare and the fact he is not a conservative but a moderate at best has already crippled him.
The key will be to keep Huckabee out of the race.
Warming up with some fried halibut!! Took a 2 hour snow machine ride to Noorvik with some locals... and have a whole new respect for Todd and his Iron Dog. It was SO much fun!
I'm still reading, even though I still can't figure out how to post from the BlackBerry
Joe can't tell you. He doesn't know any conservatives.
Exactly right sapwolf. He is big government.
Glad to hear you're having a good time up in Alaska defend. I can't wait to visit someday.
He reminds me of Mr. Haney from Green Acres.
Huckabee won here in Ga because of his support of the fair tax. Once Sarah shows up at Daytona this week end she will consolidate a lot of support. On the other hand Huck doesn't really offend anybody. Pec is right though the south is Palin Country.
Huckabee is saying that the USA should come out and support an Israeli air strike on Iran, if Israel decides to do that.
Obama has all his little minions doing all the "dirty work" for him while he calls for the GOP to stop being "petty" and "we need to work together." It's pathetic really.
Well he's pretty pathetic himself.
Maybe Ruppert Murdoch will make Huck an offer he can't refuse!
I live in Georgia and from where I sit, Huckabee is an OLD out of style HAT, and he has been placed in the attic with the rest of the stuff that we don't use or need anymore.
SHE WILL!
I don't like how I worded my statement. Folks, Palin would win any State in the South by Double digits unless she bungles the Debates and campaigning in the primaries. This may change in a few States for the General election (ie Florida, Virginia and NC) but on the Republican side she dominates the South. Maybe they poll some Establishment Alabama Republicans in DC. That is about the only way the poll would have these results. ALmost as bad as the Marist 3rd Party poll when they knew Sarah was too close in a 2 party race.
Joe is a Rino and worried about his job.
IF Huckabee has any sense he will not run. He and Mitt have been on the primary ticket so many times it's ridiculous. He should keep his job on Fox and continue practicing his guitar.
Great idea. :)
I know this may be not kosher among Republicans but I wish George Bush had been less dignified as POTUS and either gone on the attack or allowed Cheney to go on the attack against the MSM after the Iraq War when for 4-5 years it completely savaged and diminished him and his administration. I do think one of the reasons we got Obama was because of the narrative the MSM was able to execute and propagandize on a daily basis that Bush was a war criminal, the devil or equivalent to Hitler.
Bush thought it was only innocuous hyperbole. He never figured it out it was right out of the Alinsky playbook and that he played right into the hands of the Far Left when it took over the government in 2008.
Obama is lout; Bush was too dignified. There must be a happy medium.
To the WH she is the enemy.
Hey, that's my line!
Glenn Beck said something very interesting last week. He was talking about the birther theories and how crazy it was. I am paraphrasing here, "Did you ever notice how most of the time you hear about birther theories it comes from the White House? He said it after he showed a video of Obama decrying anyone questioning his citizenship. I am convinced that it's to the advantage of the WH to keep the theory afloat so as to paint all conservatives as "racist" or "crazy."
or"If you can read this, you're only gettin' smacked!"
My bad cookboy!
Hence the booksigning in Orlando Saturday night ...
That would be Sarah. The Happy. Medium.
Good evening!
Here's LOTUS's take on Handgate: http://bit.ly/bnTgvp , also depicted by my avatar!
Haha..this is pathetic...Lisa Murkowski slammed the Guv right and left and now she wants her to campaign for her....I think Lisa might have realized how strong the Guv has become...I know Sarah said she would campaign for her back in April and she gave her money...but I would think the Cuda would not be too happy with the way Lisa trash talked her...
Murkowski would be open to Palin appearance
<span></span>
JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski doesn't expect Sarah Palin to stump for her this year, but a campaign official says the Republican would be open to that.
Mary K. Hughes is chief administrative officer for the Murkowski campaign. She said it's still early in the process; neither the list of candidates nor the campaign schedule has been set. But Hughes said she believes that if a joint appearance could be scheduled, both women would want to do it.
Last April, Palin announced plans to raise money for a Murkowski re-election bid; her SarahPAC also has contributed. Hughes said Murkowski is "very, very pleased" to have Palin's support.

Why will nobodyy answer my question?
It is great theatre to watch the Obama administration react to Governor Palin.
Gibbs coming out with writing on his hand, is like the poor, geeky guy in high school, who is late to a joke, and so, when he tries to get a laugh, gets a groan and a roll of the eyes instead.
That display by Gibbs was lame, and I hope it backfires on them.
I saw that, I always retreat those when I see them, hope it increases traffic to your site Whitney. I am up to 114 followers now!
Thanks, Patrick! I appreciate it! :)
I don't know, but I've been trying to change mine and it ain't happenin' either. Not that I hate jumping buffalo or anything.
It was apparent as it was happening. And you are once again spot on.
It's too small to read on the avatar, but LOTUS "writes", "joke's on you liberals" on her mouse pointer. :)
Angria Mitchell, love it!
Hey, it's a good one. Have at it.
I would answer it, but as you can see, my computer skills still have me stuck in anonymous unisex shadow land.
I can't take credit for that one. I saw someone tweet that name, but I don't remember who to give proper credit.
I like Sarah's new Palm Pilot :)
I hope Sarah tells Murkowski to stuff it.
techno - THis was discussed earlier. Several of us from the South that know the Southern Conservatives know Sarah would win Bama by a minimum of 10 maybe more.
I might be venturing into dangerous territory here, I am in no way a birther. My theory is that even if it is discovered that he wasn't born here, he would find a way to change the constitution to suit him.
You could not have found one with the Middle digit...instead of the index digit?...;)
Good Read Whit....thanks!
I think every reporter in that Press Room got the same impression that Major Garrett had: Sarah is a White House obsession.
That gives her power.
Me too....all those who smacked the Cuda, need to pay the consequences for it...hehe
Nancy...I was up in your neck of the woods twice today...
thought about calling you but it is still snowing here somewhat...
I needed to get back....maybe next time....
I think it already did.
If Lisa asks I believe Sarah will but I don't know why.
Evening folks!
I took this picture of my hand today and emailed to tip@c4p, 4 Sarah's birthday! I wanted to selebrate early! Ya like?
Palin 2012!
Thanks, Cruela. I thought about the middle finger depiction, but Piper might read the real LOTUS so I figured I'd better make it kid friendly. :)
Cruela,
Aw, I'm sorry it didn't work out! I hope it works out sometime to get together too!
Celebrate!
What's that about burning bridges?
BeeFL did you see my comment on page 3 towards the bottom?
Yeah...I had to drive my niece to CR...she is manning the AFA recruiter office while her recruiter is on Vacation....My niece leaves for Korea on the 23rd for 4 years...
she should enjoy it!
I think I clicked on the picture and it asked me where I wanted to get my avatar from, and I chose browse my computer.
Yes, click on your avatar. And fill in the bubble for you computer
Huckabee is not going nowhere. He doesn't have the money, the organization, or the excitement that Palin will generate after this tsunami election victory that she will lead the GOP to this year. These polls are way too early and its akin to the polls that showed Giuliani running away from the rest of the field. What happened then? He didn't win a single state. So what are you going to believe what you see as the most dynamic political figure in recent American history or this flash poll two years out from the primaries?
Cruela I was thinking the same thing. I guess Whit is taken into account we do have minors on this site.
That's what I did.
I just found my picture, and double clicked on it and it came up as my avatar.
Gov Palin understand politics and she also LOVES Alaska too much to not help those who would benefit the state. It's really not about us. Sometimes we are too short-sighted to benefit the Governor. She always has her sights far into the future.
I'll have to figure it out later.
SO much of this stuff is so conspiracy and so tough to prove one way or the other, nobody really knows anything. Does anybody ever know where they were really born? I know what your family told you but you don't REALLY know. My brother does adoption cases where they will do a birth certificate with the child being born in the US. Everything else is sealed, private etc. We need to get past all conspiracy theories and stick to real issues like out of control spending, unemployment, weakened defense etc.
Good evening everyone!
I was just watching Bill O'Reilly and Newt was on and I think he was trying to "defend" Sarah without mentioning her name. He was talking about a new book coming out in the next few months, not by him, about how Obama has a 30% following that watches CNN and other stations and that if people on both sides of the political aisle don't start to realize the seriousness of the tea party movement, then they're going to be out of step going forward. I thought it was just a friendly non-conversation about the whole Palin and 24 hour news cycle as he referenced how Reagan wouldn't even be able to put up with the constant news cycle.
I tried for days to change my avatar. I cropped my pix to make it smaller. No dice. Finally I made it smaller by getting it ready to e-mail. That finally did it. It changed the number of pixels and that was the answer. For me, anyway
AndreaB,
The Levin show was from Monday, 2-8.
Thanks Betsey, I'll try that later.
Sarah's worked with Lisa in the past. I doubt she would dump her because Lisa disagreed on a few things, but we'll see.
Everybody get over to Twitter and get <span><span>#4wordsonobamashand bumped back to the top of the trending topics. </span></span>
I am still testing mine....;)
That is why I termed it..."digit"...;)
Another great post by Dr. Zero:
Misunderstanding the tea party
http://hotair.com/archives/2010/02/09/misunderstanding-the-tea-party/
as someone said to me once, friends are like money.
I think sarah should welcome her.
The thing that blows my mind about this is that Obama can't talk to the Boy Scouts without a teleprompter. What amazing hypocrisy!
I think that Sarah Palin might have an appointment with destiny but I feel she will have to make a decision to stand with the GOP leadership in Congress who want to attend Obama's summit at Blair House on Feb 25 to discuss healthcare, or to stand with Rush Limbaugh and say "hell no" or make no comment whatsoever? What will Sarah do?
She should stand with the people and say "Hell No To Obamacare, You Need To Start Over."
I'll help you Patrick.......what the hell is an avatar?
Sarah will be POTUS, Lisa will be in the senate. Sarah will have a pocket full of I O U's
IMO she should stand with the majority of Americans who have said "Hell No To Obamacare."
Until the Democrats agree to withdraw their legislation and start over, the only point of the President's "Health Care Summit" is to do an end run around the voters of MA who elected Scott Brown to the U.S. Senate as the 41st vote against Obamacare.
In her Facebook postings she has come out in support of common sense solutions that are market driven and patient centric, referencing the proposals put forward by Reps. Paul Ryan, Mike Pence, Eric Cantor, John Boehner, and others who have offered solutions.

Or...The Happy Middle Finger.
According to a report by AP:
Obama would OK health bill minus items he pursued
http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D9DP2H400&show_article=1
Presuming this report is true, the President has just blinked.
In turn the Republicans must hold firm and insist that the Democrats meet all of the conditions set out in the letter sent on February 8, 2010 by Leader Boehner and Minority Whip Cantor to Chief of Staff Emanuel before agreeing to participate in a televised "Health Care Summit."
There is a report in today's Washington Times titled Obama tells GOP it needs to budge, Refuses to scrape Health Care Plan.
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/feb/10/obama-tells-gop-it-needs-to-budge/
So, it seems Obama's bi-partisanship depends on whom is writing the news. As such, the Republicans must hold firm and continue to say No to talks until the Democrats scrape the existing legislation.
The one thing Huck has in Georgia though is that he is with Neil Bortz on the Fair Tax issue. Neal keeps saying on the radio Sarah would drag us down, and is all for his Fair Tax buddy Huck. Neal keeps pounding the Sarah cant win all the way thing and it makes me nuts. If she were a man he wouldn't pull that crap. I do talk with many people men and women that love her because she is a fighter. However they want her to brush up on things in order to get their vote. I at one point liked Huck but no longer trust the little back stabber. He is one of those guys that just says what he thinks people want to hear. Sarah has time, God, and honesty on her side. She will get the votes she needs in the south.
Sarah did do well I must add when she helped Saxby Chambliss in the run off election. Brought in way more people than Huck, Mittens, and McCain together.
