Governor Palin to Appear in Midland Texas
According to the Bob Campbell of the Midland Reporter-Telegram, Governor Palin will appear at two events in Midland, Texas next Thursday, March 25:
Former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin will be in Midland for two events next week.
The former Alaskan governor will be speaking about conservative issues and raising funds for a New York City-based political organization, a spokesman confirmed Thursday.
The high-profile conservative will address about 500 people, including schoolchildren carrying questions they have written for her, at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 25, at a location that had not yet been determined. She will then meet 400 people and speak from 6:15 to 8 p.m. at a fundraiser at the Petroleum Club, 501 W. Wall St.
Palin, who ran with GOP presidential nominee John McCain in 2008, will discuss issues she has emphasized at "Tea Party" rallies around the nation since last year along with energy concerns like the cap and trade proposals pending in Congress, said Executive Director Victor Cocchia for the Liberty & Freedom Foundation.
When asked if a format was considered where the tickets would have been less expensive and more people could have attended, Cocchia said, "The problem was timing.
"We would have loved a large-scale event, but it wasn't possible with the governor's scheduling. This is our first event with her, but we're hoping for a larger event in the future in Midland."
GOP supporter Dick Saulsbury first reported the foundation's intent to bring Palin here during a Valentine's Day luncheon of the Ector County Republican Women's Club in Odessa.
Read more here. Please note that this has not been confirmed by Governor Palin or her staff. As we reported earlier, Governor Palin will be appearing earlier that day at the Get Motivated Seminar in Beaumont, Texas. After the Midland events, she will head to Arizona for events on the 26th and 27th before ending up in Nevada for the Showdown in Searchlight. All in all an eventful weekend is shaping up for Governor Palin.

Yeah!!!!!!!!! Hope she wears her helmet/mullet wig !!!!! And a real short skirt, also too !!!
I think there is a good to be concerned about overexposure. I think that given how much she will be on the road in a potential 2012 run in 2011 and 2012, I think Palin would be greatly served to take a little hiatus in the summer, as she did last summer to write Going Rogue. Just a little break for her health, family and for keeping herself from being overexposed. But of course events will dictate how much she will need to put herself out there. Its just that I think she can't allow herself to become too familiar. At this point I can almost predict what she says, by her manner of speaking. She has key words and phrases that she always uses like, "make manifest" and "plugged in" etc. I understand why she speaks this way, but I am concerned about 2011 and especially 2012. By then, those terms will be stale. So I think a break in the summer, maybe over July and August would be healthy for the long run. It will be painful for us Palin fans, but it will be for the good in the long run for Palin's presidential prospects.

O/T
I posted this in the thread below, so forgive me for posting it again, but I think people need to see this.
If this farce get's "Deemed" while slaughtering our Constitution, families with a combined income of 100,000 per year are going to get killed. So much for Obama's 250,000 pledge, I guess.
Via Scott Gottlied in American Enterprise Institute For Public Policy Research:
In part:
The hardest hit won't be those earning more than $250,000 a year--the group that he says needs to "pay their fair share." Rather, it's families whose combined annual income is around $100,000 who could be crushed under this plan.
These folks will be too "rich" to qualify for ObamaCare's subsidies, but probably too poor to easily afford the pricey insurance that the president's plan forces them to buy.
Many of these $100K families will be obliged to buy a policy costing an average of $14,700 for the mid-level, "silver" health plan, according to the Congressional Budget Office's estimates. After income taxes, they'll be spending almost a quarter of their net income for health insurance.
You can read the rest here.
This information needs to get quickly disseminated. The more people that know this, the more that they might be willing to make calls, send emails and faxes.
The other side is not taking a break.
Traveling the country, and appearing at events, is not over exposure. At every such event she does the meet and greet, and she's a master at that. Since this is a very important election year, she has already said she will be very busy. As for her appearances on TV, they are usually pretty far between. I see Rick Santorum, Newt, Huck, and TPaw on TV twice as often as I see Palin. There for awhile last year, I saw Mitt on FOX almost continuously.
If anyone is overexposed, it is Obama not Sarah. He is always on my tv or radio. Many people like my mom don't have cable or internet but she votes in every election. Most people don't follow politics or the political blogosphere like some of us do. It is critical if Sarah wants to run in 2012 that she goes in person to small towns and big cities to meet citizens all over the US.
She's not even close to being overexposed. She makes appearances when something big's happening. Unfortunately, something big's happening every day. When she appears, she makes it count too--and everyone always wants more!
Maybe, just maybe, Sarah knows what's best for her. How can she be over-exposed when she speaks to different groups each time?
KC ... Thumbs up! Totally agree with you.
All respectful points concerning Palin, but Obama has overexposed himself and I just don't want the same to happen to Palin, where people begin to say that we've heard from her enough, let's hear someone else. She always does a great job to stay fresh and to do different things, but I think a break between the primaries and the congressional campaigns in the summer wouldn't be a bad thing. And it could be for a month or 2, like she did when she was writing Going Rogue. At that time she still did the Facebook and the op-eds, but just didn't do events and television. I think another such break would be good for her, but that's only my opinion.
Sarah is getting her ground game going. Having seen her in person twice, she's absorbing information, adding key names to her Blackberry, and more importantly, scoring favors with local GOP, and winning over local voters, i.e. volunteers.
I'm amazed at her pace and her focus.
Most people...including solid Palin supporters, do not follow her every move like we do. If you ask someone, "where was Sarah Palin last weekend?", they won't even have a clue that she was meeting people in a far-off state.
These events allow her to meet people, get a feel for communities, and build friendships on a local, small scale. Now especially, with people feeling so disheartened, Sarah getting out there and giving comfort and hope will be an energizing thing for small towns and cities across the nation.
I think it says a lot about she values what Washington considers "the little people"...
As for what she should or shouldn't do about her own personal life and her political career, Sarah is going to do what she thinks needs to be done. That's why she is a leader. She knows how to make decisions.
The national press, by and large, is not covering every speech she is gives. Nor do they cover her Facebook postings. We see everything she does but most of America is not following her. The coverage she receives is from local press in the state or city she is speaking in. She get the obligatory, "Sarah is receiving $100,000. speaking fee", in any news article. Why is it She is not allowed by our media to support her family?
Overexposure?! just the other day an uber-liberal Jewish lady was "palinized" after talking to the guv for a brief moment. can you imagine if she'll have a chance to talk to everyone in america? just sayin'
DOOOOOM!
This will hurt the self-employed the hardest. Hmm, the job creators. Way to go Barry!
Shoot!.. this Midland Tx thing is close but $2500 is a bit steep... checking to see if they will expand it and have a little less pricey tickets... not looking good though! DARN IT!
Im thinking maybe I can submit a question and attend the children's question and answer part earlier in the day... better call Pelosi and get a quick location for a Botox treatment!
So close yet so far... life's a hoot, Isn't It?
As far as Gov Palin's so called over-exposure is concerned... my two cents worth of worthless advice! There's no such thing and secondly, advising an Individual that "thrives on it", meaning 'people contact' as Meg Stapleton described Gov Palin's MO(method of operation), would be killing the goose that laid the golden egg as far as Gov Palin is concerned. My goodness, It's Gov Palin at her best!
Millions upon millions of undecided voters don't see and hear what we do here every day... give them a chance to feel the same way we do.
