I Have No Idea Why Comments Are Disappearing

Perhaps it's because the thread got too big. Let's try out this hypothesis.

She'll be on with Hannity tomorrow evening discussing "why didn't our government listen."

Just a reminder that tickets for her speech in Chicago on May 12th go on sale tomorrow. Here's how WIND is promoting the evening:

She electrified the Republican Party during the 2008 presidential campaign and quickly became one of the leading voices for the conservative movement. Now, she's coming to Barack Obama's hometown. AM 560 WIND is proud to welcome Gov. Sarah Palin to Chicago on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at the Rosemont Theatre. You'll be able to hear Gov. Palin with no media spin, no liberal filters, and she'll be answering your questions.

Well I for one cannot wait to see the signing ceremony next week.... the Greek columns will be out and probably gold plated lol

JS-Kit just does that sometimes. The comments will appear eventually.

Linda Goldthorpe is anti-Sarah:

<span>"I'm taking some serious heat about questioning Sarah Palin's support of Bart Stupak's "pro-life" stance. Is that fair? He has frequently said contrary things in the district. She would be president. I want those who represent me to know about those they endorse. Do you agree? Do we need transparency or more delusions?"</span>

Okay...my Mom is on absolute melt-down...
Not sure what to do or say to help her!..
Yikes...

Hey Piasano,  March 22, 2010 1:15 AM

When Sarah was on O'Reilly she mentioned that what is coming next is Cap and Tax  and Amnesty for illegals. I hope this is her way of starting to distance herself from McCain. McCain is starting to go down faster than Charlie Crist, 15 points with the last Rasmussen Poll. Her Obligation  to McCain will be  over at the end of this week and it can't be soon enough.

Comments can disappear when the JS-KIT network gets overwhelmed. Not necessarily on this site. But the general JS-KIT system. I presume that comments all over the blogs are over stretched tonight and though it shouldn’t really happen I guess JS-KIT has it’s limits.

This guy is running against Russ Feingold. He's little known. If Tommy Thompson jumps into the race he has a better chance of beating Feingold. All I know is that every time I comment on his wall, critique a video, etc... he always replies. He even sent me a message when I first signed on as a fan.

Uffda,  March 22, 2010 1:19 AM

Anyway, he just put up a post saying that he signed the Repeal It petition.

Cruela--the way I'm looking at it is that our Preamble to our Constitution begins with "we the people". It will be we the people who pick up the shreds of our Constitution and our country and put it back together again. The government may have overstepped its Constitutional powers, but we must take full advantage of our Constitutional rights and speak out. It will be we the people. Is it discouraging? Yes. Does it piss me off? Yes. Does it piss me off enough that I'm actually using the word piss? Yes! Let us not resign ourselves to being defeated, but continue to fight.

I don't know if those kinds of words will be any consolation to your mom, but perhaps a simple "I love you, mom" will suffice.

Just-Sayin,  March 22, 2010 1:25 AM

Sarah Palin will never "distance herself from Mccain." They disagree on a stuff from time to time but she wouldn't throw him under the bus because of poll numbers.

BetseyRoss,  March 22, 2010 1:29 AM

Bart Stupak is officially persona non grata.  He has proven he has no principles as is the problem with most Dems.  He had a pro-life stance and now he doesn't.  He sold his soul.  Sarah was pomoting the Bart that said he was pro-life.  Now he isn't.

Tomorrow I plan a little civil disobedience......a couple of the city buses have advertisments for the 2010 census......paid for by the FEDS I'm sure.....anyway, they show a row of hands held up....no faces but the hands are all different colors.....something about it's time to be counted.......I plan on getting a pack of clear stick on labels and write messages on them to stick on the hands casually as I lean against the bus at the terminal......Palin 2012, Impeach Obama, Socialism Sucks, Democrats Are Doomed.......just little hand notes.....any suggestions.......I realize this is a little juvenile....but I can't help it.....those bare palms are beckoning me......Guess I'll ride the city bus all day.....reading "Going Rogue".....I need some cheering up......annoying looney liberals is actually a lot of fun.

TexMex,  March 22, 2010 1:52 AM

Fah, guys don't sweat this too much.

Remember, elections have consequences. and unfortuneately the GOP really screwed the pooch these last few years. Let's pick ourselves up, find some good people to elect to Congress this November and we'll proceed to make swiss cheese out of Obamacare.

Come next January, President Obama is going to be looking at a lot of unfamiliar and unfriendly faces while he gives his SOTUS address. Sans the Supremes too ;)

After the 2010 elections, our number one goal is to convince Sarah Palin to run for the Office of the President of the United States and help her win the GOP nomination.

This is OUR Country, OUR Democracy, and we mustn't let some kid from Chicago or leftist from San Fran rip it away from us.
Rest up.

We have a lot of work ahead of us.

I wrote this in my Journal a month ago about a talk show (PBS?) I watched in November:

A European was on a talk show a month ago. He was sorry the USA was going to make the same socialist mistake his country did, but he was sure of it. He said it would come down to the last minute, and there would be hope it would fail, but we gave Obama so much money to work with, it was a sure thing. (I think he was talking about stimulus fund money.) He saw it happen repeatedly in Europe. I thought he was being a bit arrogant at the time, but it appears he called it exactly right.

I wish he was wrong.  Was he right about the money?

This bill will not effect seniors.
It is terrible for the young people in America.
Everyone over 65 years old already had health insurance. It is the young people who did not have insurance. They are the ones who will be paying through the nose for an insurance that they will not use.
If she is over 65, please tell her not to worry.
It is people like Emily who is in trouble.

gelston the knowitall,  March 22, 2010 2:35 AM

Many young people chose not to but insurance so they can afford more important things like coffee at starbucks, tattoos and nose rings.

Illegal aliens do not buy insurance because health care is free if they go to an emergency room.

Or how about a chain of clinics, paided for by the government, to help migrant farm workers     http://www.yvfwc.com/

Why don’t they all come to Asia and work where they can make more money (as Asia has comparatively lower personal and corporate tax than America), work more leisurely and spend more time with their family, and with Asian economy booming and English commonly used, they can enjoy almost similar quality of life as they have in America. Better still, by working overseas, they may avoid paying growing taxes and not penalized for not buying health insurances. Some of Palin's detractors have advanced the canard that Palin is soft on immigration.
Palin dispelled that notion emphatically tonight in her interview on O'Reilly.
In speaking against what she anticipated will be next on the Left's agenda, Palin was
clearly disgusted with amnesty for illegal aliens, along with 'Cap and Tax' and Card-check
unionization.
We need to stop Lindsey Graham before he does any more damage.

techno,  March 22, 2010 4:45 AM

Yesterday the United States and a huge majority of independent, freedom-loving, middle class Americans were dragged kicking and screaming into unchartered territory, were forced to witness a legislative verdict that changes their relationship to the federal government in a profound or transformative manner, and were induced to perhaps feel like strangers in their own land, no longer residing or standing on terra firma, as they soon discover that their unalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness have been seriously compromised or sold down the river by a group of people (the American Far Left) who they have little in common with politically, would choose not to associate with in social settings or would have a hard time making conversation with, and personally would only engage if compelled to by job description, being a good Samaritan or in an emergency where you needed help.

Different strokes for different folks is an adage that many of you have lived by all your life. You have not been insensitive, intolerant, or bigoted in your dealings with other human beings, but tried to treat others with kindness, magnminity, respect, and charity. But as rugged individualists you have understood that the foundation of the American character for 220 years, aided and abetted by the Constitution, has been grounded in creating a dream, having the individual initiative to launch an enterprise or adopt a calling, and striving with all your pride, ambition, panache, energy, and skill and talent to get ahead, succeed, or to fulfill a goal or objective within an economic and political climate that subscribes to Adam Smith's idea that, "Every human being is primarily motivated by self-interest."

You have also treasured your privacy and quite honestly wanted to be left alone to live your life as you saw fit, especially out of the reach of the tentacles of an ever-expanding government. Ironically it the selfsame Leftists who have made such a big deal that "privacy" exists in the Constitution and protects their rights to become amoral, self-indulgent and self-serving who want to deprive you of your own rights to privacy. Passing Obamacare basically has changed the dynamics of living life in America. I am not going to go into detail on how it will change it, but you know it will. All you have to do is to look to western Europe and Canada to know that government run health care from an individual point of view is far less efficient, a lot more burdensome and costly in terms of taxation, ill-suited to be responsive in a timely fashion (waiting lists), and more geared towards a bureaucracy making decisions on your health care rather than you or your family, especially in the case of a prolonged or terminal illness. And your medical records and any other information will be in a government data bank which anyone with access can pull up at any time and snoop into your affairs. And finally if you feel you do not need health insurance you will be compelled to buy it or face an annual fine which will be enforced by the IRS who will now have access to your bank account.

(continued)

techno,  March 22, 2010 5:44 AM

However, what I wanted to write about is not so much how to deal with Obamacare but to give my opinion, as we move like a slow-moving glacier towards the November 2010 midterms, what you need to do or be aware of to get ready for serious political involvement for the first time or increased political involvement that will involve devoting much more of your time to thinking about Obama, the Democrats and the Far Left and how to take back Congress in November than you ever thought you would. In doing so I am going to make 20 recommendations: 5 of a personal nature, 5 of a political nature in regards to the GOP and the Tea party movement and 10 of a general political nature that attempts to tell you what to expect as the Democrats and the GOP go toe-to-toe in the lead-up to the midterms and the fall midterm campaign itself.

Here are my 5 recommendations of a personal nature:

1) There is an old adage from medieval times that is emblematic of what you first need to do from the onset which is to "throw down the gauntlet" in response to a "casus belli".

Throwing down the gauntlet usually means to issue or throw down a challenge to another person but in this instance I am using it to indicate that you must first throw down a challenge to yourself to get into the game, to refuse to stay on the sidelines any longer, to become a participant rather than a spectator, and to become involved as a soldier would in preparing for battle and the battlefield. And then you must understand the significance of Obamacare that it was a casus belli (a declaration of war) against you and your family by Obama and his merry men and women and that you must take the necessary mental and psychological step of DECLARING POLITICAL WAR against Obama, the Democrats and the Far Left. Many of you apolitical types right don't really know all that much about your opponents as the American soldiers who fought on the Pacific islands against the Japanese didn't know a hell of lot about the Japanese either, but they knew one thing: we have to kill them before they kill us. And that one thought alone imho will give you more keen insight into what lies ahead. I know this will be difficult for many of you to acknowledge, accommodate or do, and this is why I put it first. You can no longer afford to be CHARITABLE to the current President of the United States, his party and his base of support; instead you must consider them the ENEMY and refer to them or consider them mentally as such. You must resolve to politically take them out before they take you out and destroy your life and that of your family. It is a Hobson's choice. I will tell you right now if the majority of folks on our side are not prepared to this, we will not win back Congress this year and there is a good chance that Obama will be able to inflict more damage on America and to Americans and be re-elected in 2012. Folks, as much as many of you don't want to admit it, Obama and the Far Left has been at war with America for the past 40 years. Now that they have taken over the federal government they will only intensify their efforts to ensure their is no "counterrevolution" of conservatives making common cause in order to make permanent their authority and power. As the American government did not have to feel guilty about declaring war on the Japanese after Pearl Harbor, you do not have to feel guilty about declaring war on Obama and his cronies after the passage of Obamacare. In both instances the declaration of war was PROVOKED.

(continued)

techno,  March 22, 2010 6:16 AM

2) Once you have DECLARED WAR on the Far Left, you will find yourself instantly energized or rejuvenated if you have gotten depressed over the passage of Obamacare. What you need to do now is to put yourself in military terms through a boot camp or in football terms a training camp to get yourself conditioned and physically fit for the challenge and battles ahead. There is an expression. "I want you to be a lean, mean fighting machine." And imho that is the mindset you need to prepare yourself to engage the enemy. Other than Obama and the Far Left, your next worst enemy is fatigue and weariness. Imagine millions of men and women on our side who become battle-ready through daily exercise, jogging, lifting weights etc. who are gung-ho in preparing themselves for the arduous journey that lies ahead, who are willing to sacrifice their previous comfort zone for a cause greater than themselves.

3) And then mentally I would recommend you read the Bible or PMA (positive mental attitude) books or listen to tapes to become more self-confident or inspired or provide you with more self-esteem as you move ahead. As a soldier you not only need to have the confidence that your cause is righteous but that you are worthy to pursue the course you have chosen. And why this is important is that there will be detractors who will say you are wasting your time getting so involved in politics, that you are only a cog in a machine and not significant in the general scheme of things, or that you should "go with the flow" and accept the fact that Obama is in charge. Their criticisms are meant at a minimum to throw you temporarily off your game and at a maximum to get you to quit and thus weaken our side. Reading PMA books or listen to PMA tapes will help to reinforce your belief system, help to strengthen your faith, and provide the means to resist the putdowns and potshots that go with the territory when you decide to stand for something.

(continued)

techno,  March 22, 2010 6:38 AM

4) In addition to reading PMA books I would suggest you begin to read books on political philosophy. There are a countless number of books to consider reading but I would suggest if you really want to understand the current manifestation of the Far Left you need to read Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals, the Thumpin' by Naftali Bendavid, or David Horowitz's book The Shadow Party to gain a better understanding of what you are up against. And for an understanding of conservative thought there is Milton Friedman's tome Capitalism and Freedom and A Monetarist History of the United States (with Anna Schwartz), Hayek's The Road to Serfdom or any political biography of Reagan. And there is always Atlas Shrugs which provides the context and environment in which socialism is fostered, then flourishes and then dominates. And we can't forget Liberty or Tyranny by Mark Levin or Going Rogue by Sarah Palin.

What this will do is to help you present logical arguments to convert your family, friends, neighbors or acquaintances to our side by being able to explain why Obama's socialist Utopian paradise and agenda is severely flawed and why conservatism is the only answer to American's challenges. And if you are a Palinista, it might help to encourage people to peek inside Palin's tent for a look-see and perhaps be converted by her.

5) And finally if you are religious, I would encourage to pray for guidance, strength, insight, conviction and for the leaders on our side including Sarah Palin.

Now to my 5 recommendations for the GOP establishment, grassroots and the Tea Party movement:

6) All factions must resolve that Obama is the ENEMY, and not each other. Internecine warfare cannot be permitted to break out if we are to take back a house of Congress in November 2010.
7) In conjunction to #6 it is therefore important that the ideas of all sides be fairly compatible or differences ironed out or resolved and the sides not be diametrically opposed to each other. For example if the GOP establishment took a diehard position favoring amnesty for illegals while the grassroots favored no amnesty but securing the border above all else that could pose a huge problem in the midterms. Give Obama and the MSM any opportunity to exploit and they will by driving a wedge into our side and playing divide and conquer.
8) Therefore I believe that the GOP establishment, the grassroots and the Tea Party movement have to form a workable alliance that insists that no criticism of each other or its leaders will be tolerated (the United States forming an alliance with the Soviet Union after Germany invaded Russia in 1941, both who agreed to temporarily ignore their differences in ideology to fight a common enemy). Thus during the midterm campaign it is important that the GOP elites not nitpick the efforts of Sarah Palin, the grassroots not criticize the cut of the jib of Mitt Romney, or the Tea Party movement focus its outrage on John McCain. There must be only one focus: Obama, the Democrats and the Far Left.
9) Whittaker Chambers in the 1950's condemned the GOP for leaving or abandoning its warriors on the battlefield. That must stop. If any member on our side is unduly attacked by Obama or his allies our side must resolve to come to his/her defense and stand up and be counted. It would be so easy for Obama and the MSM to fill the airwaves with disinformation and propaganda against Sarah Palin if she was left out there on her own, like a QB without an adequate offensive line. If there is one thing the Palinistas have to resolve, it must be to never abandon Palin and to protect her at all costs.
10) And finally our side needs to develop an esprit de corps that will allows us to become more than the sum of the parts but millions of strong, defiant warriors and warrior princesses determined to make common cause, being proud to be a member of such a fine group of dedicated people and being a part of a growing movement and a righteous cause greater than ourselves as we engage the ENEMY in a most vigorous political fashion, resolved to not to take any prisoners or give any quarter to Obama and the Far Left. This will be more than evident in the GOTV movements on our side and the percentage of people on our side who show up at the polls on voting day.

Now to the 10 things to watch for during the run up to the midterms and the fall campaign:

11) How often Obama goes out on the campaign trail. I suspect he will expectedly abandon Washington early for the campaign trail, unlike former presidents who felt it was more important to do their job of running the country first. Don't get your knickers into a twist because of this possibility; after all it is what Obama does best and that is what his handlers want him to do to firm up and rally the base.
12) Obama will constantly hammer away at the idea that the GOP wants to deprive you or confiscate your healthcare rights by repealing the legislation and call our side, insensitive, intolerant, racist, cruel, heartless and out of touch to what "real Americans" want or need in terms of exercising their "right" to healthcare. And like the ladies is Congress today he will harp on the theme "that being female should no longer be a pre-existing condition", implying of course that by our side favoring a free market solution to fixing healthcare that somehow we are being anti-female. The folks on the Left are bastards. We have to get used to it. The ends justify the means.
13) How Mitt Romney will address the healthcare issue and how much blowback he will receive from the Obama war room and the MSM. It may be an indication to whether Romney still is thought of as a viable candidate or Obama has decided to focus most of his attention on Palin because she is doing too much damage to the Democratic Congressional candidates.
14) Throughout the midterms you will see ample evidence of whether Romney, Palin, Huckabee, Pawlenty or anybody else will be running for the GOP nomination in 2012 by how many appearances they make or where they go. If you are a Palinista, this should give you even more incentive to get out there to make a difference.
15) As always polls are extremely important but I would recommend to the soldiers on ours side to keep their shoulder to the wheel and remain resolved to engage the ENEMY regardless of how well or poorly our side is doing at a given time. We must have faith that our cause is just. Expect some bumps on the road. There always is.

16) It is important that not only that we be good soldiers but that we also contribute to the cause with our pocketbook. The Dems will be loaded with money from what Rush Limbaugh calls a slush fund (unspent stimulus money) to spread around in a "timely" fashion. If we are to take back a house of Congress we must compete on an equal or level playing field. Don't forget Obama outspent McCain 4 to 1 in the battleground states in the 2008 campaign. We cannot allow that to happen again.
17) As Congress is rated so poorly, I expect the strategy of the Dems in the midterms is to as I suggested in #11 to have Obama out there as much as possible to sell his agenda and indulge in straw men and demagoguery. Have you heard Pelosi and Reid speak? There is no way the Dems want those two are their spokespeople. As Obama is a Messianic presence capable of swaying vast amounts of voters, it is extremely important that Sarah Palin play her part as well because she is the only person on our side who has the charisma to match him speech for speech and blow for blow. Obama will seek to destroy Palin before she gets to the fall campaign, but I don't think he will succeed. But he and the MSM will try. They will throw everything but the kitchen sink at her. Don't be surprised by anything the Far Left says about Palin, including that she is from the planet Krypton.
18) I expect something surprising to happen overseas during the campaign that Obama will try to capitalize on. This is something our side cannot control. Whatever happens, happens.
19) I expect Obama to focus on amnesty to keep the Hispanics in tow with the MSM highlighting often Lindsay Graham's and McCain's partiality to amnesty as well. And I expect Obama to try to diminish Palin with the conservative movement by reminding folks of McCain's positions and then tieing them to Palin.
20) And finally Obama will try his damndest to convince the Tea Party movement to go third party and will seek to infiltrate the movement in order to plant this idea among its leadership. And if he can't accomplish that then he will resort to demonizing the TP movement and call them the usual names: extremist, militia groupies, wackos, wingnuts, birthers, racists etc. And then if Obama can get the GOP establishment to also take potshots at the TP movement, so much the better.

Yes, this bill will effect seniors. $500 billion stripped from Medicare. How many doctors will no longer accept Medicare patients? How many doctors will quit practice? A lot! Seniors will find themselves without care and for those who are lucky enough to keep their doctor, they can expect a lower quality of care and yes, rationing, because the doctors' fees will be cut.

Sorry, but this bill has an effect on every single American, and not in a good way.

Sarah issued a statement that she was glad Stupak was holding strong against abortion (which he was)...and who among us wasn't rooting for Stupak as well?

Stupak had everyone from Mike Pence to the pro-Life organization Susan B. Anthony Foundation trusting in Stupak's committment to Life...and the only reason Goldthorpe is launching a trivial attack against Sarah is to get publicity for herself.

Up until yesterday, it looked as though Stupak was going to be our last line of defense in defeating the passage of Obamacare.  We would have been STUPID not to have given this man our moral support in taking a hard stand against the titanic pressure from the "Leftists"...

Goldthorpe doesn't sound very smart to me.

Tell your Mom that real Americans DO NOT LEAVE ANYONE BEHIND.   If the socialists think they can conveniently purge older Americans from the Healthcare System, they are going to be smashed by  a HAMMER OF JUSTICE wielded by the citizens of this country.

Nazi Piglosi has already said that abortion is part of economic stimulus (less babies, the less we have to spend on Education and Healthcare)...so our little ones will be sacrificed into the Obamacare Monstrosity as well...

AND WE WILL NOT LET THAT HAPPEN.

Almost every older American has adult children and loved ones who are going to be mad as hell, when they see someone they love being treated like a second class citizen in our Banana Socialist Republic of America.

Because, in the end, Cruela, we all KNOW that they won't be content to just pushing our seniors and babies and disabled folks into their Dystopic Socialist Meat Grinder....we will all be squeezed out of quality healthcare.

I know I sound angry...but I am angry...I am so freakin' angry over this.
