Mornin' my good buddies. As usual, a lot to catch up on. Working again this weekend -- when I'm not on my knees praying for our country -- but I can sort of see the light at the end of the tunnel, work-wise. Just hope it's not a train coming at me.

Great interviews w/Sean, Glenn and Greta.

A belated happy birthday to our little princess Piper Palin and our grown up princess manajordan, both of whom are sources of joy and inspiration for all of us.

And, since I don't think Cookboy is around yet today, I'm off to have country ham, biscuits, homemade preserves and sorghum, grits and eggs at the Loveless Cafe.

Regardless of the outcome of this weekend's brawl in D.C., as the Gov. reminds us, Sunday's coming, and so is November. Stay strong.

Good morning folks,

Kitty and I are about to embark on a road trip in protest to the nanny state Obamacare socialism take over of our country while we can....we're going to IHOP for an enormous breakfast filled with carbs, calories and contempt for the short-termers in the WH........We'll probably have our favs....strawberry stuffed french toast....we are so pissed....we just might have seconds.....even thirds.....if Michelle Oblamo wants to discover obesity she only has to look at her backside in the mirror.....its enormous.....almost as big as her idiot hubby's ego........so our act of defiance may not be as political as the Washington protests, but at least it will taste good......if this bill passes We will not become beaten down or depressed.....instead I will focus on November 3rd when conservatives take back the House and the Senate......and will look forward to November 4th......when the Congressional investigations of this administration begins with the added hope of criminal investigations and if they use the Demon Rule.......the impeachment proceedings......the Chicago thug-in-chief will come to learn what it feels like to have his tactics directed back at him and I don't expect he will handle having his past, his actions and his career exposed to the sunlight.....payback is hell.......wonder how Pukelosi will handle being told to sit down and shut up by the new Speaker of the House.......Dirty Harry will be busy opening a new Chicken Ranch in Nevada.......so Kitty and I will not become depressed........The Sun Will Come Out in November.......and Sarah will fill our hearts with joy as she continues her battle to put America on the right path.........our day of rejoicing will come........January 20, 2013.........Be there.

There is a new video going viral from the RGA (Republican Governor's Association) called "America's Comeback". I'm not going to post it because I was appalled at who they left out of the video. It starts out with the corruption and arrogance of those in power; fair enough. But then it highlights certain Republican "leaders" who are supposedly battling this corruption and are on the side of the people. Their idea of Republican leaders? Mitt Romney, Graham, McCain, Gingrich, and other RINO's. Pointedly left out of this video is Sarah Palin.

I have Christian Medi-Share, which acts like insurance but technically isn't insurance.

Word is from John McCormack of the Weekly Standard that Pelosi cancelled her agreement with Stupak that would have given him and his cronies a separate vote on the abortion language or something to that effect.

The provision that would restrict paper companies from claiming a $1.01-per-gallon cellulosic biofuel producer tax credit for their production of a wood-pulping byproduct, known as “black liquor,” that is burned as fuel has become a legislative darling to Democrats thirsty for offsetting revenue for big spending packages. Some estimates have said closing the potential loophole could save up to $24 billion.”

You would think that the tree hugging demsocraps would understand that paper companies burning “black liquor" lowers the amount of oil purchased from forgien countries ...but they see it as something else to tax. Healthcare bill will make the cost of disposable diapers and Obambi's Depends increase.

Really what choice does Deem Queen Pelosi have?  Tick off the 40 members of the pro-choice caucus causing them to bolt, or deny the Stupak 12 a vote on fixing the abortion language?  I could be wrong, but it seems to me that Pelosi still trying to cobble some kind of agreement between the pro-choice and pro-life caucus indicates to me that she still doesn't enough votes.

Okay, I thought this morning's press conference with Congressman Bart Stupak would settle the fate of the healthcare bill. He and the leadership were working furiously last night to work out a deal on abortion language.
It turns out the House Pro-Choice Caucus told Pelosi that if she cuts a deal with Stupak, <span>they will vote against the whole mess</span>: the Senate bill, the reconciliation sidecar, and any abortion provision offered to placate Stupak's bloc. So Stupak tried and Pelosi looked like she was going with it, but she's facing a mutiny if she does.
The fact that this occurred like this is great news. It means that Pelosi doesn't have the votes yet. Most counts have her a handful short. By my own count, she has to peel off some of the Stupak folks or she won't get to 216.
My final whip count and all the latest news on the healthcare vote will be up in a bit.

Ditto. The worse that can happen is if they pass the original Senate bill with an up or down vote; that will be legal and there won't be anything we can do about it becoming law. If they use Deem and Pass, which I think they will, we have options to keep this from becoming law.

We have all heard the expression that history repeats itself. On the eve of the possible passage of Obamacare, I think it is appropriate to ask the question has something of this magnitude ever occurred before in American history, that is the passage of a certain law having the ability to transform fundamentally the nature of American society or how it operated to the extent that it provided the tools to facilitate more GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION and in turn reduced FREEDOM. And could Obama and the Democrats be following the same playbook in the passage of Obamacare. I'll let you folks decide.

In 1912 the Democrats gained control of both Houses of Congress and the new President was a Democrat, Woodrow Wilson. 

According to wikipedia, Woodrow Wilson then went against the platform of his party in the creation of a central bank per se and in 1913 and came up with a "progressive" plan that would make the Federal Reserve Board a "public entity" instead of being controlled by private bankers, and made the currency, the new Federal Reserve note to be an obligation of the U.S. Treasury. Membership be national banks became mandatory, not optional.

Oh, by the way the the 16th Amendment to the Constitution giving the federal government the power to levy INCOME TAXES was ratified in 1913 as well. Coincidence?

Basically, what these two measures did was give the government the right to print money and to raise as much money as they felt they needed. Before 1913 it could be argued the federal government did not have the tools at its disposal to INTERVENE in the economic and political life of America.

And it was only passed primarily along party lines--only after considerable political manipulation of Congressmen by Woodrow Wilson and it fundamentally changed America for all time.

And if you watched the guy from Florida, he said that to passit withouth the Slaughter Rule, which means they vote on the Senate Bill and the Reconciliation Bill, the Senate Bill itself could become law because it has passed both houses.  This is a BIG deal and I said as much the other day.  I know we shouldn't get bogged down in the process, but there is no clarification on the "yes" votes.  Will they vote for the reconciliation package and the Senate bill, will they take that chance?  Or are they only saying yes to the reconciliation package, which, imo, means they use the Slaughter rule.  Even it it gets sent back to the Senate with the understanding it doesn't become law until the reconciliation package is passed, it will still meet a lot of opposition.  Hatch has already said that the Senate will add an unlimited number of amendments to it and do whatever they can procedurally.  This is a long way from being over, but if it fails, this could be the end.  This is what I am praying for.

Mitt equates "American exceptionalism" to freedom for the rest of the world.

I always thought of American exceptionalism as more the free expression of a free people to create a thriving, dynamic economy that benefits the American people by making them more prosperous and more happy as they strive to achieve their goals. And part and parcel of that exceptionalism was that America was founded under God and under the principle of the natural rights of man to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

I have never thought of American exceptionalism as "foreign-centered" in telling foreign people what to do or how to live their lives but as an example of what a nation could acheive if it took a certain course of action and that if anyone in the world wanted to participate in American exceptionalism then they are more than welcome to do so by legally immigrating to America.

Instapundit has some photos up of the D.C. protest. Preliminary crowd estimate is around 25k, with people still arriving.

As to the vote count, Fox says Pelosi has the votes. However, progressive blogs like Firedoglake say that she does not. None of the other major media outlets are calling it. The New York Times is reporting that Pelosi is having to scamble to find the votes.

Bottom line: Keep calling, emailing, marching and praying.

What I think what overlooked in the analysis of the Palin interview with Greta last night in expressing her outrage regarding Obamacare was how savvy a political "animal" Sarah Palin is, that she fully understands the dynamics behind the raw, insufferable political corruption perpetrated by Obama and his merry men and women and the lengths they will go to get Obamacare passed and that she therefore approaches the vote tomorrow with realistic expectations and not pie-in-the-sky unqualified assertions that Obamacare will not pass.

I think Waxman knows that the reconcilation bill could get killed in the Senate and/or that there is likely to be a second vote in the House (as the Senate has been warning) in a few weeks which could fail and kill the whole thing. Voting to pass the Senate bill first is their best chance for victory, but too many of the House Dems won't go for it. Chaos, indeed!

My running count shows 201 yes, but I’m adding Rahall and Carney to the Stupak-curious bloc and making them lean no votes. So it’s 201-209, but with leaners? 207-214. If a Stupak deal is struck, passage looks secure, unless the Pro-Choice caucus revolts. If not, Pelosi will have to draw an inside straight. It’s very tight right now.
UPDATE: If you look hard at the numbers, you can see why Pelosi is talking with Stupak and pro-choice women. With 214 No or lean No votes (including the Stupak bloc), Pelosi would have to prevent Dahlkemper and Kaptur from joining them. Then she would need all the other uncommitted votes, save one. That means she would have to get everyone who voted yes last time, plus Jim Matheson or Harry Teague (and all the lean Yes votes who went No last time, like Brian Baird and John Tanner). <span>It’s just not that plausible.</span>

I want to thank Nancy for suggesting the idea of fasting these last couple of days, and tomorrow. It was inspired. Thanks for all those participating, including those who are not able to fast, but are doing so in spirit. What a remarkable group of people there is in this community.

I wanted to just share some thoughts that have been on my mind lately, and especially today. I hope you don't mind if I go a bit religious here :)

Peter is one of my favorite people in the New Testament. He just seems so genuine and real to me. One of his experiences that has been on my mind was his response to Christ walking on the water toward their ship, which was in the middle of a storm. When Peter recognized it was the Savior he asked if he too might walk on the water, and the Savior bid him come. Miraculously Peter was able to walk on the water as he kept his focus on Christ. But, when his focus changed to the storm he started to sink. Of course Christ lifted him up again and gave him some instructions on faith. But, I'm touched by the importance of keeping our focus on Him, the Savior. Yes, we must be aware of the storm. We know it is there, trials, storms, tempests abound, physically, mentally, socially and spiritually. But, when our main focus is on God we are able to not just make it through, but to do so with grace and with miracles.

At this time of great turbulence and storm it is as important as ever to make sure our focus is in the right place. When our view is fixed on the eternal than the temporal, earthly stuff has a way of putting itself into perspective.

I don't know how this whole healthcare debacle will turn out. I'm still hoping for the best, but I'll praise God no matter what. It is crucial for our nation to right its course, and the most crucial step of all may be to turn back to our Creator. Storms will come, we may even sink a little. But, He is there, always there, waiting to help the seekers.

Deem and Pass being dead is a good thing, even though some are saying it is bad because it would have definitely come under constitutionality issues.  This bill STILL has constitutionality issues, mandating health insurance.  The only way I can see this being upheld on constitutionality is by somehow equating it with the draft.  To force us to buy insurance is NOT constitutional.  The federal government has no right to make us purchase a commodity in order to be a citizen of good standing, in other words not having to pay any sort of fine.

This bill still has a ways to go.  KEEP THE PRESSURE ON AND ABOVE ALL:  PRAY!!!!

If the Dems give up on Deem and Pass, maybe they will take a straight up vote on the Senate version.  The problem is that they don't have enough votes for the Senate version yet.

You know what I think it means?--and I may be very wrong here--they know deem and pass is too blatantly unconsititutional to get away with, so it HAS to be an up or down vote or nothing. I wouldn't buy into the "They know they have the votes"crap that's being spread around, for the millionth time to demoralize us. If they had the votes, they'd be <span>voting</span>. They wouldn't need the "Pep Talk" that O's about to give.

As soon as they have the votes, you'll see Pelosi beating them with a whip into the chamber, even if it's 3:00 in the morning. Just watch for that. You'll get no truth from the media, even Fox.
