Obama Voter General McChrystal Says Community Organizer was Unprepared in First Oval Office Meeting

General McChrystal has gone rogue:

A band of McChrystal's profane, irreverent aides are quoted mocking Vice President Joe Biden and Richard Holbrooke, the special U.S. representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan....

McChrystal himself is described by an aide as "disappointed" in his first Oval Office meeting with an unprepared President Barack Obama. The article says that although McChrystal voted for Obama, the two failed to connect from the start.

If the press corps was honest, they would ask Barack Obama whether he agrees with his former supporter's assessment that he was out of his league in his first Oval Office meeting. If Barack Obama denies being woefully unprepared, the American public can then determine whether they find the former ACORN community organizer more credible than a decorated military veteran who has worked closely with him (with the key point being that McChrystal has worked with him and seen the community organizer in action).

Uhh General McCrystal you were obviously unprepared - to enter the voting booth.

Yes Ted, what in the world was McCrystal thinking!! "want to get away"!

Sarah 2012!

Double Ditto. I'd trust Nelson Eddy as the singing Canadian Mountie in "Rose Marie" to protect me more than a General who went into a voting booth and knowingly voted for Obama over McCain.

OH MY GOD, an Obama voter is running the war in Afghanistan. NO WONDER IT IS GOING SO BADLY! And our troops are paying the price.

Nancy, June 21, 2010 11:39 PM

He should never give up that information.
That is embarrassing.

Hmm ... one of the most authoratative web sites dealing with the ongoing fight against radical Islamic terrorism is called the Long War Journal.

http://www.longwarjournal.com

Recently they published an assesment of the present situation in Afghanistan. It is grim. The report is titled:

Current state of Afghan war mirrors Iraq circa 2005-2006
http://www.longwarjournal.org/threat-matrix/archives/2010/06/current_state_of_afghan_war_mi_1.php#ixzz0rY4ktjw9

Clearly there is an obvious division within the administration over how to fight the war in Afghanistan.

Reading between the lines, it would appear that McChrystal is saying to the Obama administration, give me the troops and the time I need to make this work (aka another thirty to forty thousand, while removing the deadline of June 2011) or get rid of me.

GAHanson, June 21, 2010 11:40 PM

Doesn't surprise me that 0bama was and is unprepared, but it did surprise me that a general would be stupid enough to vote for him.

Boxer's campaign takes on Palin's endorsement of Fiorina

“We are glad to have Gov. Palin’s endorsement,” Thoma said in an e-mail, “and Carly would far prefer the support of a fellow political outsider who shares her opposition to massive government expansion over that of [House Speaker] Nancy Pelosi and [Senate Majority Leader] Harry Reid, who champion tax increases and government takeovers of everything from our healthcare system to the financial markets, while doing nothing to stimulate true job creation and sustained economic growth.”

You know Tammy's rule about things, if a story seems off, it probably is, well one could agree with those criticisms of Eikenberry and the Obama administration, but really would anyone tell Rolling Stone about it

MarkRNY, June 22, 2010 12:00 AM

This is disturbing. Why/how does anyone know who he voted for? Patton and MacArthur are rolling in their graves. Now officers are going to make it known who they voted for to rise through the ranks? Is there one section of our country this punk is going to leave unharmed/left standing?

LMAO, June 22, 2010 12:04 AM

Haha! The only story here is that a US General voted for Obama, despite all the lip service from the she-dummy Palin! This is good...I hope she runs in 2012. Then the farce called Sarah Palin can finally be deflated, and you sycophants along with her...

What is it about the Kennedy School that induces this lack of skepticism, first O'Reilly now MacCrystal, if the story is to be believed. It does sound like a redux of McMaster's "DEreliction of Duty"

Uffda, June 22, 2010 12:21 AM

Riiiight. Because no TV personalities EVER criticize American foreign policy. Definitely didn't do it during the Bush years either....

Journeyman, June 22, 2010 12:28 AM

Personally, IMO the most important thing has nothing to do General Stanley McChrystal's voting choice....the serious fact is that This is bad, very bad...especially that it’s come to the forefront by the media, a civil war has broken out between high military personels and the administration.... expect a major shakeup very soon, this might end Stanley's McCrystal career, but this is not good guys for our boys and girls overseas!

Pray for our troops!!!

narciso the harpoon, June 22, 2010 12:34 AM

McCrystal apparently already apologized for it....i got somewhere,...besides these men might have cracked under pressure knowing who they have to obey as their leaders..indeed clowns

Bill589, June 22, 2010 12:50 AM

I don’t know if Obama is incompetent, evil, or both. Probably both. But we haven’t had a Commander in Chief since Bush. I have a nephew, and a friend’s son, who became Marines during this past year. Not in harm’s way yet . . . . But I really wish we had a Commander in Chief. These brave kids deserve it.

JeanA, June 22, 2010 12:56 AM

I can't believe a General would vote for a community organizer. This General is no better than the community organizer and should not be leading our troops. Our troops are going to read this bull.

gelston the knowitall, June 22, 2010 12:56 AM

I read once that the USA is unique in that we are one of or the only country which elects a commander in chief.
I feel very comfortable with Sarah in that role.

rae4palin, June 22, 2010 1:25 AM

A General voted for Obama over decorated war hero McCain? Treason.

JeanA, June 22, 2010 1:50 AM

Now we know why Obama parties all the time. Why his meetings are not long. Why he uses a teleprompter. He's an empty suit. The First Lady is probably his brain. Maybe not because that would make her dumber than dumb.

section9, June 22, 2010 2:09 AM

This is bad for the following reason:

General McChrystal serves at the pleasure of the President. If he runs an undisciplined headquarters in which rumors about what his subordinates think about Biden and Holbrooke get out so easily, and if his personal opinions about the President's fitness for office somehow snuck out, then McChrystal is not fit to command that theater assignment and needs to be relieved. Further, we should, under no circumstances, be privy to the knowledge of how any officer at Field Grade level or above voted in any election.

George Catlett Marshall must be spinning in his grave. This is such a breach of trust.

Michael Yon wrote several months ago that the war was above his head. I doubted him then. I should not have.

We do not live in a Banana Republic. We may not like Barack Obama and the people in Clown Shoes who staff his Administration. We may not believe that he has the best long term interests of the United States at heart.

But by God, he was elected! Nobody elected McChrystal to anything.

This kind of nonsense would not have come out of Ray Odierno's headquarters and David Petraeus' Central Command outfit.

McChrystal needs to resign his commission at once or be fired. Period.

And if Palin were here, she would tell you all the same thing. The principle of civilian control over the armed services must remain inviolate. No matter which party is in power. This is a bedrock Constitutional principle at work here.

Indemind, June 22, 2010 2:34 AM

Let's not forget that General Colin Powell voted for the president zero too, over his good friend John McCain.

Unbeliavable.....the class of General's we are putting out.

Point is all this mess will be used by Odummy to pull out of Afghanistan just in time for 2012 which will be a great victory for radical Islam. Sigh.

Uffda, June 22, 2010 2:49 AM

A couple of military guys were on O'Reilly the other night and said that McChrystal is a great soldier, but this job he's in now is different than what is his specialty.

Uffda, June 22, 2010 2:53 AM

But I agree, there's no way on earth this should have ever gotten out.

JeanA, June 22, 2010 3:00 AM

The voters have already started losing faith in Obama. If the voters get wind that the military has lost faith then that is not good.

None of this makes any sense. The General is not dumb.

John.Glube, June 22, 2010 3:24 AM

According to an article by Marc Ambinder:

Within hours after today's Rolling Stone story broke, McChrystal was called by the White House, the Secretary of Defense, and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. They were not happy.
Gee, I can't imagine why.

Another troubling aspect of this story is that according to Ambinder, General McChrystal felt he had to tell the President how he voted to overcome the sense of distrust that some of the President's aides had towards the General. Very unhealthy and underscores the problem with this administration, too much politics and not enough leadership.

Just posted a cartoon titled "rub a dub dub" with Obama, Rahm, and Rob Blagojevich at http://drawfortruth.wordpress.com/category/politics/

John.Glube, June 22, 2010 3:52 AM

Taylor Marsh (a strong Obama supporter) has a blog post up on this story. Marsh writes in part:

That it is being printed in Rolling Stone and entitled “Runaway General,” especially after Tim Dickinson’s piece leveling devastating criticism on the Administration on the BP blowout, equals a one, two political punch from a stalwart liberal publication on a Democratic administration, this time leveled by a decorated military man.

McChrystal Commits Cardinal Sin and a Very Grim Report
http://www.taylormarsh.com/2010/06/22/mcchrystal-commits-cardinal-sin-and-a-very-grim-report/

In the same blog post, Marsh also references a report released by Rep. John F. Tierney, Chair Subcommittee on National Security and Foreign Affairs Committee on Oversight and Government Reform titled Warlord, Inc.: Extortion and Corruption Along the U.S. Supply Chain in Afghanistan
http://media.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/world/documents/warlords.pdf

Marsh is shocked by the findings of this report, but have we not all heard this story before?

(Side note: I am not discounting the report's findings, but simply note that every time an Army goes to war, there are the front line troops and then there is the "organization" which "supports" the troops.)

At the same time as the Majority report was issued, Rep. Darrell Issa issued the following statement:

Hitler and Obama : Parallel Lives

9. Both rookies have very low self-esteem and deep inferiority complex which ultimately lead to their inevitable downfalls

Hitler was born into a dysfunctional family. His grandfather was a wandering womanizer and his father was his illegitimate son who also subsequently became a wandering womanizer. Hitler’s father was born as “Alois Schicklgruber” to follow the name of Hitler’s grandmother. He subsequently changed the name to Hitler in order to claim a share of inheritance. Hitler’s father had already married 3 times when Hitler was born. Hitler’s mother (Klara) was his father’s (Alois) second cousin and was actually living with Alois’ house as his foster daughter during Alois’ first marriage. Hitler’s father was an alcoholic, abusive father while Hitler’s half brother liked to commit theft. Hitler was not a true German and did not have a single drop of German blood in his body. Both his father and mother were Austrian and he had some Czech heritage instead which was a brutal irony as Hitler would later exploit the racial tension between the Germans and the Czechs, inciting racial emotion among Sudeten Germans against the Czechs so as to achieve his political ambition. Thus, Hitler incurred the contempt and hatred among the Czechs.

Due to this inglorious past, Hitler started to develop low self-esteem and inferiority complex. His opponents constantly mocked his un-German family history, abnormal family relatives, and his previous comic family name “Schicklgruber”. As a result, Hitler did not like to discuss his family background and early life, and was reluctant to show his citizen certificate (before he finally obtained his German citizenship in 1932). He continued to develop even lower self-esteem and deeper inferiority complex.

As the war began, Hitler, the rookie warlord, was surrounded and advised by brilliant German generals who helped him win the early victories. However, his lack of military experience and low self-esteem made him uncomfortable with their presence. They made the rookie look shallow and impotent. The rookie refused to listen their advice and sack anyone who disobeyed him. This low self-esteem that had developed from his early life soon led to the rookie downfall.

Ymchoo, June 22, 2010 5:22 AM

Similarly, Obama was also born into a dysfunctional family. His grandfather had at least 3 wives, his father was a wandering womanizer, and Obama was conceived before marriage (ie his parents performed pre-marital sex). Obama was born as “Barry Obama” and subsequently changed to “Barry Soetoro” to follow the name of his step-father. He subsequently changed the name to “Barack Obama” in order to claim his illegitimate inheritance on his African heritage so as to launch his political career as a true leader of the African-American and not that of an Indonesian. Obama’s father had already married with another woman when Obama was born. Obama’s mother (Ann) was his father’s (Barack Sr) fellow student and she did not know that Barack Sr was already married and later he lied to her that he was already divorced which Ann only found out many years later was also a lie. Obama’s father was an alcoholic, abusive husband while Obama’s half brother likes to sexually assault under-age girls. Obama is not a true African American and does not have a “single drop of slave blood in his body”. Both his father and grandmother are Kenyan (who may have descended from slave traders) and he has a lot of white man heritage instead (half of Obama’s body is filled with the blood of a white woman) which is a brutal irony as Obama would later exploit the racial tension between the Blacks and the Whites, inciting racial emotion among African Americans against the white people so as to pursue his political ambition. Thus, Obama incurs high disapproval and disgust among the white Americans.

Due to this inglorious past, Obama started to develop low self-esteem and inferiority complex. His opponents constantly mock his un-American family history, abnormal family relatives, and his previous un-American name “Barry Soetoro”. As a result, Obama does not like to discuss his family background (the true family background not the fake family background which he fabricated in his book) and early life, and is reluctant to show his birth certificate. He continues to develop even lower self-esteem and deeper inferiority complex.

As his reign began, Obama, the rookie boy chief executive, was surrounded and advised by experienced executives and elected politicians who helped him win the 2008 campaign. However, his lack of executive experience and low self-esteem made him uncomfortable with their presence. They made the rookie boy look shallow and impotent. To enhance his low self-esteem and hide his inferiority complex, the rookie boy constantly mocked the elected politicians in the Congress for causing his political problems. The rookie boy likes to blame and insult the stupidity and incompetence of private corporations CEOs for causing America economic woes. He refused to listen their advice (such as Caterpillar CEO’s) and sack anyone who disobeys him (such as GM CEO). The rookie boy also likes to openly mock and challenge the US Supreme Court Justices to show that he, as a law lecturer, is more qualified than them in interpreting the judicial matters. This low self-esteem that has developed from his early life will soon lead to this rookie boy downfall.

I think the comparisons to Hitler are way out of line. Adolph Hitler was a soulless genocidal sociopath.

Obama on the other hand, is a typical utopian bleeding heart let's-all-hold-hands-and-sing-Kumbaya liberal.

in his own words, he's "misguided" He's Jimmy Carter redux.

section9, June 22, 2010 8:01 AM

Can we NOT compare Obama to Hitler?

It's the thing the LaRouchies do and it makes us look like them.

You can do a lot of running down of this deeply empty-suited President without comparing him to Downfall Hitler.

section9, June 22, 2010 8:02 AM

For once, Joe Scarborough is right. Broken clock, twice a day.

This should never have happened.

DefCon66, June 22, 2010 8:06 AM

Perhaps with the insane ROE (rules of engagement) that the troops have to follow and are frustrated with and are killing them have reached a breaking point and the brass in the field are striking back to get attention for what's happening there. Not saying what McCrystal did was right but when you see the people you command are more like targets rather than combatants you may get desperate.

panchita, June 22, 2010 8:13 AM

probably not, however, it further reinforces the meme that obama wan't fit to lead from day 1.

McChrystal just became the poster child for every GOP ad this fall.

General McChrystal has devoted his life in the service of his country. He see's the many lives lost needlessly due to obama's incompetence.

the General is hero. the msm will typically question his mental competence and ask that charges of treason leveled.

Shar61, June 22, 2010 8:29 AM

Just my two sense: My nephew is in Afghanistan, so this does not make me feel very good. He should be fired, weather he likes the president or not is not for him to say out loud.. ever..

On the Hitler note: Hitler is the epitomy of evil and the American people have been using his name in comparison of presidents for many years, not because it's right, but because we have the freedom to do it. I would never compare the president to Hitler, however; if Israel were to go up in flames due to dithering or an ideology that the president seems to have against Israel ( and we can see this through his policies), than the comparison might not be that far off the mark. One caused the Hollacaust, and another could quite possibly step aside while the 2nd occurs.

TangledThorns, June 22, 2010 8:44 AM

This is damaging to Obama but it's also damaging to troop morale as well. McCrystal was wrong in speaking out like that, no matter who is the president. If he honestly felt that way he should of retired then come out against the administration. Still this has to be severly damaging to an administration that is compared to Jimmy Carter's more and more often.

Obama's House of Cards may be falling but he is taking our country with him.

Noone look to the south as Obama Team aids Mexico as it begins its occuption to reclaim the Southern States of America using 'Possession is 9/10ths of the Law'.
