Governor Palin: Any Good American Hates Racism
** I preface this post by saying I know it will cause me heat among some Americans who find my stand for truth to be a slap in the face of their leftist agenda, but my commitment to that truth supersedes the acceptance of people. So I speak on...
I have been very angry many times as I've watched the dangerous race game played by the Left. I have spoken out against it often, steam streaming from my ears. However, this new resolution by the NAACP to place the "racist" label on the Tea Party movement has made me more sad than anything else. It has both saddened and sickened my heart.
First, let me say that I am aware that racism exists. As a Black American I have been on the receiving end of the 'N' word. While I have suffered nothing close to what my ancestors did, I would never pretend that racism is a thing of the past that never rears its ugly head. I know better, and I call it out where I see it. In fact, some of my closest friends joke about just how vocal I can be about race--no matter where I am or who's around. So, believe me, my head is not buried in the sand. Having said that, I can also say that it is precisely because of my experience, because of my ancestry, and because of my abhorrence for anything so vile as judging people by such uncontrollable things as skin color, that I detest fabricated claims of racism. And this NAACP resolution is built on fabrication. Is not the real history of slavery and racism enough to quell any urge to make a game out of something that cost people their lives? Having come from a long line of true heroes and sheroes I unequivocally declare that people whose blood was shed, allowing me to live a life of equality and opportunity, deserve better than this.
The notion that the Tea Party movement is racist is one that has no proof to support it. I have attended tea parties in both Wasilla, AK and Kingston, NY. (See pictures.) And from the Last Frontier to New York's first capital, I can say that the participants treated one another like family. I was neither mistreated nor ignored. I was not made to feel I did not belong. There was not one racist sign. No one spit on me. No one called me the 'N' word. Rather, we had one purpose in mind: to boldly declare that we want to restore sanity to our nation. People protested President Obama's policies, not because of his race, but because of the dangerous path on which he is steering America. I certainly didn't attend these tea parties because I have a problem with our president being a black man. However, I was also not going to refrain from attending simply because I share the same skin color as our president. While this is what many on the Left expect of me, I am nobody's puppet. I think for myself. And I refuse to reside on anyone's plantation, including any political plantation.
The NAACP ought to be dealing with a real race problem. It comes not from the Tea Party or the Right. It comes from the Left. I cannot tell you how many times I have been called a "sell-out" or a "self-hater" because I am a Black person who is both a conservative and a supporter of Governor Palin. The use of the term "Uncle Tom" to define someone who refuses to bow to Master Democrat is the norm from the enslaved minds of some on the Left. But interestingly enough, the NAACP had no mind to create a resolution about that.
My heart is sad because in the year 2010, even with the election of America's first Black president almost two years behind us, America has gone so far backwards it's enough to make one weep. I did not know my ancestors fought for equality so we could live in a protective bubble where no one could criticize us even when we're doing a bad job. I did not know they cried out for the right to an education so we could demean and devalue those who would not sign up for group-think. And I certainly did not know that they marched under the weight of waterhoses and dogs so that we could assemble and accuse a movement of being racist when there was no evidence to support it. I truly thought those who came before me believed that they were endowed by their Creator with rights and responsibilities. I believed that we wanted to be a people who would stand on the right side of right and oppose wrong. In my heart, I just know my ancestors felt that if we could get out from under the heavy burden of oppression, we would soar, and the sky would be the limit. I feel in my bones that those who fought for freedom were willing to walk with those who were willing to walk with them and together they could take on those who were fighting against them. They had no energy to battle racism where it did not exist, for they had their hands full dealing with legitimate issues. The NAACP could certainly take a page from their handbook.
Am I saying that no tea partiers are racist? I'm saying that people are people. Are there racist lawyers or teachers or police officers? The answer is obvious. We find all kinds of people in all kinds of places. Yet common sense individuals will always repudiate it wherever it shows up. And common sense individuals don't unfairly call out an entire movement. For one to lump all lawyers, teachers, and police officers together under that banner would be both dangerous and asinine. So it is with lumping tea partiers together.
I wish the Left could just be honest: the Tea Party movement isn't about race, and they ought to know it. It's about America. It's about doing what's best for the future of a country God blessed us with. And if the President can't handle the heat of being criticized, then he shouldn't have signed up to take on an adult job when he only had a child's experience. It's that simple; I don't care what color he is.
Governor Palin really summed it up when she, speaking to Sean Hannity, said, "Any good American hates racism. We don't stand for it. It is unacceptable." Could she have been any more plain? I applaud her for taking that stand. I stand with her. I expect nothing less from her. She is, after all, a good American. What saddens me, however, is that no matter how many times she says that, no matter how many times the Tea Party says that they do not support racism in any shape or form, and no matter how many times Americans--Black Americans--say that the Tea Party has displayed no racism toward them, those on the Left refuse to listen. The reason is simple, and it's the same reason it's always been: it serves their interest to play the race game. It's a dangerous game, and I fear it's a game that will cause some real hurt. It is setting us back as a nation, and it is completely unnecessary and divisive, as Governor Palin also said. In addition, it's a slap in the face of the history of the people the NAACP claims in its name. If they truly want to advance "colored people," they'd resolve to stick to real issues that crave their attention within the Black community and stop making a mockery out of the shed blood of those who paid the ultimate price for true progress.
** As a side note, Governor Palin called it right: President Obama could do a lot to shut this down. On the contrary, his silence on the issue is deafening.

Great post Adrienne!
Absolutely spot-on Adrienne.
We believe what Martin Luther King Jr. so eloquently stated, that a man should be judged by the content of his character and not the content of his skin.
Everytime the NAACP and others play the race card to divide Americans for political advantage, they are spitting on MLK's grave, I'm sorry it just had to be said.
Patrick
Thank you Adrienne! It makes my heart sad too.
Bravo, Adrienne
Hello Beehive, I saw you post in the open thread. Whats up?
Well said Adrienne

Brava! Well said!
Yes, Barack Obama's silence is deafening. And silence construes as consent!
Great post!
The motivation of the NAACP accusation of racism against the Tea Party is the same as the Obama lawsuit against Arizona. It's all about turnout in the coming election. Shameful.
Barack Obamas approval numbers would go up if he spoke out against this resolution and the black panther party statements. But the left will always stick to the playbook and Obama is no leader.
Adrienne, thanks for standing for truth and for your support of Gov. Palin.
I might add, I have come across some black people that find it very surprising that I support Gov. Palin's leadership and ideas... they say, "you are black, you are supposed to support Obama". I tell them... I was raised with a certain set of beliefs and understanding. Because some black president is in the White house does not mean I have to throw away my belief system. I see myself as an individual not as a group and it has worked for me well. I continue to tell them Gov. Palin examplifies what I believe in and what I love about this country, that is why she is my leader... and I am very proud of her.
Spot-on, Adrienne, but naive. The Left knows that TEA Partiers aren't racists. So does Obama. So does his staff.
Racism is a charge the Left uses to shut down debate and marginalize their political opponents.
Only when conservatives learn to turn and ATTACK organizations like the NAACP as toadies for the Democratic party and the Obama administration will we learn to operate on the same playing field as the Left.
This is a great tragedy, as the NAACP was, at one time, a non-partisan organization interested in advancing racial equality. Now, it is a mere adjunct of the Democratic Party.
Excellent post Adrienne. Thank you.
RAM, if you see this I have a suggestion....it would be good for Sarah to post this on her FB. I so appreciate the way Adriennes mind works.
I also highly recommend everyone take some time to fully watch Zo's video, "Examining Black Loyalty to Democrats". Share with friends:

Beautifully said.
I think also about that article over at HillBuzz, where the boys are wondering if perhaps the race gamers have gone too far. If this is their tipping point.
It just might be.
Good Americans abhor real racism, just as the Governor said. It just runs counter to who we are and to the principles we embrace. So for these tools to go and use that smear in order to silence and freeze out a movement they don't like is abominable.
Like you said... so many people have died in the name of freedom for all, regardless of race, and it's a spit in their face to use the cause they bled for for political sport. It's disgusting.
** As a side note, Governor Palin called it right: President Obama could do a lot to shut this down. On the contrary, his silence on the issue is deafening.
0bama has been playing the race card from day one. Oh, he generally avoids doing it directly, leaving the dirty work to his minionis, like Chris Matthews, but he knows that it both gins up his base, and it plays on the white guilt crowd. I read one article that estimated he got at least 2 points from the white guilt bunch, he has to hold on to those, because if they slip away from him, along with most independent voters, he's finished.
Adrienne- Thank-you!~ One of my greatest honors was meeting you at last summer's Wasilla Tea Party.

Thank you for writing this, Adrienne. Your words have the power to undo some of the division that many on the left are trying to create. The true division between people in this country is not based on skin color and those who try to create the appearance that it is are doing all Americans a great harm.
If racism didn't exist, they'd invent it. If fear, hatred and ignorance didn't exist, they'd invent it--and they do! All of these things are like oxygen to them. They'd die instantly without them.
Every person or group of people who falls into their hands is worse off for it. We've all paid a price, but no group of people have been more viciously exploited by these 2/3rds insane, butchering swine than the African American community. They latched onto the Civil Rights movement, which was a Christian Movement, took credit for it, and destroyed it. As they do with all newborn things, they killed it--or thought they did!
There's going to be a great awakening in this nation. When people's eyes are opened, there's going to be hell to pay--literally. The one who can begin to bring it all crashing down for them is Sarah Palin, because she's been it's main target and because she has the guts to speak Truth to their faces--in their faces!
She'll have great lieutenants by her side--one of them being Colonel West, who I pray will one day be our 1st, truly African American president. What's in there now has nothing to do with America--no connection at all, except to hate it.
Great piece Adrienne.
Thank you Adrienne for another excellent post. Dr. King would be saddened to see what the NAACP has become.
Excellent video but only 303 viewers...lots of good info.
Outstanding post Adrienne. Its a shame what the NAACP has become. The Left and the Democratic party specialize in creating politics where there shouldn't be politics. Is it really a matter of politics the belief that marriage is between a man and a woman, or that life begins at conception, or that individuals have the right to defend themselves or that our borders should be secured and everyone in the U.S. should be legal residents or that the Tea Party movement is about the future of America and not racism? These issues should not be a matter of politics but of commonsense! Let's debate whether government should have an expansive role or not as a matter of politics, but these social issues are a matter of commonsense and really they shouldn't be any debate. If there is a debate, its because the Democratic party has pandered to the fringes of our society and unfortunately have mainstreamed their positions. And the Democrats have done this for as long as they've been a party! Who was the party of slavery, Jim Crow, and segregation? Not the GOP founded by Abraham Lincoln! So thank you Adrienne for a spot on post and Sarah Palin for her leadership, which is absolutely lacking in the supposed post-racial president that we have today. Race relations now it seems, has been setback decades because of this White House.
Excellent post, Adrienne! Thank you!
I smiled when I read the words, "red and yellow, black and white", in Governor Palin's Facebook post. "They" are precious in His sight.
Who hasn't grown up in Sunday School singing those words?:)
It doesn't matter what color you are, you are worthy of the price of God's one and only Son, and His blood. How precious we are to Him!
Please forgive me, because my thoughts are a little jumbled, but a quote by C.S. Lewis hit me when I read it the other day. Maybe it was here at C4P, not sure. But he said: You are a soul, you have a body. (paraphrase?) My little mind had never thought of it that way. We are unique because we are souls. That is what will live on into eternity. Not our bodies. Man looks on the outside, but God looks at the heart. Why should we care what the outside of a person looks like? It is the soul of a person that is made for eternity.
Then, I was thinking, as a Mom, or Dad, but I think especially as a Mom, we have a precious soul in our care. It is frightening and daunting to think that this child in your care, this is a person that you will impact for eternity. The day to day loving of a child, isn't like a business deal, that you work on for awhile, it gets done and you move on to the next one. The things you do and say, the way you react, the shepherding you provide, it all comes down to, leading this child that God has entrusted to your care, all lead to a choice in eternity. I guess this was on my mind again today because of what the Palins, and especially, Sarah, the Mom is dealing with, that just came out today. That is why I feel so strongly for her, as a mom. You just pray, and you hope and you advise and you bang your head on the wall, and you discuss with your husband, and you pray, and you search the Scriptures, and you commiserate with your girlfriends. And then your kids do things that you wonder about. And all eyes are on you. On Sarah, and the hate, and the mocking, it drives you to your knees.
How I pray for Sarah Palin.
Anyway, we are souls, we have bodies.
We don't care what is on the outside, we care about the things that show what your soul is made of.
Oh well, I don't know. Thanks for listening to my little therapy session I had.:)
Powerful article Adrienne. thank you. "...those who fought for freedom were willing to walk with those who were willing to walk with them..." God Bless You.
God bless you Adrienne. As hard as it is, I pray for this administration daily. I pray that America can endure this.
Me too Izzy.
I know and yet it still hurts...it's just a hard thing to fight, but I love Sarah to being so positive and for Adrienne for being such a great role model.
That would be a great idea!
Adrienne thanks so much for this post. Beautifully written per your usual, but especially heartfelt.
LadySam,
Thanks for the thought!
Thank you!
Section9,
Oh no...not at all naive. I know they know. That's why I call it a game. It's a very dangerous game they play because it fits their agenda. Somebody's going to get hurt. And it shows no respect for those before them who paid such a high price.
People may find it offensive to compare Obama to Hitler but they are similar in their tactic in exploiting victimhood and guilt.
At the end of WWI, the German were made to pay heavy war reparation and lost much territories. The German felt that they were unjustly mistreated. As time went on, the international community also felt sympathy for the German that they were unjustly mistreated as they watched the country plunged into econnomic and political turmoil. The world felt that they were responsible for it. Hitler were able to exploit that victimhood to get himself elected. He was able to manipulate international guilt and sympathy to achieve his objectives. The world did not stop Hitler in the 30s even though they had the power to do so becos they felt guilty in punishing the German during WWI. So the world gave Hitler a free hand to re-arm, re-occupied territories. The world stood by while Hitler persecuted the Jews becos they did not want to interfere in German internal affair and impose their will on her. They stood by in order to respect the wishes of the German people who they felt had been unjustly mistreated. The German were empowered to do whatever they want becos they had been indoctrinated that they were victims and were just exacting their just demand.
Soon the Nazi were able embody Hitler as that of Germany. "Hitler is Germany, and Germany is Hitler." Any attacks on Hitler would be perceived as a direct attack on the German people. The fate of Germany was irreversibly linked to that of Germany.
Similarly, this NAACP is further linking the fate of African-American to that of Obama. "Obama is Black, and Black is Obama". Any attacks on Obama would be perceived as an attack on the African-American and thus racist.
The question is this: does African American really want to link so closely to Obama? When Hitler went down, he dragged the entire German people to go down with him as well. "Hitler is Germany, and Germany is Hitler". At the end of WWII, all Germans (regardless of their politcial affiliation) were persecuted everywhere as the world saw every German as Hitler and thus wanted to exact revenge on them. Similarly when Obama goes down, would he drag the African American to go down with him as well ? It is advisable for African American to stand up and dissociate themselves from Obama.
Kenton,
Meeting you remains a highlight of my Alaska trip. God bless you!
Nice job Adrienne........It's too bad the NAACP trashes the tea party and remains silent on the New Black Panthers...go figure.....now there is rasism
Awesome post, Adrenne. Thank you, once again, for sharing your heart and soul with us.
Adrienne
From first meeting you here last summer talking your Alaskan adventure at the time of Gov Palins resignation and getting to know one another thru e'mail about our meeting Gov Palin at book signings and events; One thing stands out over and above anything else...
...You choose to build up, not tear down, not waste time and valuable resources but to make a
difference in the lives of others. I'm paraphrasing Gov Palin because you live and talk and walk just like her, not accepting the status quo, not letting anyone tell you to sit down and shutup....
... YOUR A FIGHTER!!! Praise the Lord!!!
May God Bless You And Keep You.
Beautiful, Nancy Thanks for sharing that.
Oh Adrienne, I wish everyone in America could read this tonight.
He just posted it. ;-)
Nancy
I've said it before, you remind me of going to the show as a kid, in my day, where there were funnies(cartoons) Road Runner and such... and then there was the main attraction.
You provide us here with great humor, wit and sarcasm.... but pieces like you just wrote are clearly heavenly accounts of a glorious Lady; Wife, Mom and Friend.. our main attraction!
Missed you at San Diego, and I thought while there what those attending were missing by you not being there, cause they would thoroughly enjoy ever minute of it. They would never be the same.
Bless you and Family... tell the girls hello from the guy who loved meeting them!
your = you're
Bravo Adrienne! The NAACP is inciting violence, but no one condemns it in the media! But they are quick in condemning the Tea Parties! I hope no one gets hurt because of this. If someone does, then the NAACP has blood on their hands and they better not denie it. It's so frustrating hearing on CNN pundits supporting the NAACP's decision. It's a sad day in America when race relations have been sent back 60 years by a group that is suppose to promote equality.
“The following is a statement from one of the Juneteenth Directors in Alaska:
“As for Governor Sarah Palin’s involvement in the African American community, the Governor’s office hasn’t participated in any of our Alaska Juneteenth Events. All previous Alaskan Governor’s have traditionally attended and participated in our annual Juneteenth Celebration. Gov. Palin was the first governor not to send out a congratulatory letter or assist us in any way with our Juneteenth activities
.I didn’t have the courtesy of receiving a reply when I asked for a representative from the Governor’s office to come and speak at our Juneteenth Celebration if Governor Palin was unable to attend.".......
" My other opinion is why would an individual who, to my knowledge, has not hired any African Americans on her gubernatorial staff, insist so passionately on being on a television show owned and operated by an African American, Oprah Winfrey?
While meeting with Black leaders concerning the absence of any African Americans on her staff, Gov. Palin responded that she doesn’t have to hire any Blacks and was not intending to hire any. What kind of attitude is this toward African American for who may be the first Vice-President of the United States?"...............
Gwendolyn Alexander, President
African American Historical Society of Alaska
Alaska Juneteenth Celebration”
The views aren't updated very well for some reason, at least with conservative videos....weird...
Thanks, Adrienne. Good post.
Excellent post!
Actually, she particiapted in the 2009 one. She did not participate in the first one because it was simply not brought to her attention (I have no info. on the 2008 one). A couple of people filed a frivolous lawsut AFTER she came off the campaign trail, and more than 2 years after she failed to make a proclomation. Of of those people is a notorious Anklebiter, and the other is a black man who claimed that Sarah rejected her sexual advances back in the early 1990's. Sarah was a married woman by then with one child. However, in this guy's mind, she was a racist, claiming that she refused his advances simply because he is black.
Of=One
1. These folks didn't care about Sarah showing up at their Juneteenth Celebration until...suddenly...a year later...after she ran for VP...they decided to raise a racism charge against her. How convenient for them. Nothin' like some encouragement from the moral midgets in thel Obama Chicago Thug Machine to bring about a sudden realization that one needs to start smearing Sarah.
2. Sarah Palin never made any mention of wanting to appear on Oprah. This lady can't get this basic fact straight.
3. How many minorities applied for a position on her staff? Were they qualified candidates?
4. Does this woman have any proof of a meeting with Sarah? No, of course not...because it never happened.
5. THIS IS THE SAME NUT who thought it'd be a great idea to team up with a man who was suing Sarah because she didn't have sex with him twenty years ago when she was pregnant with Bristol, had little Track on her hip and he approached her at a fast food restaurant before Sarah was even involved in politics (but he's pretty sure Sarah is the woman). Of course the man, Charles Royale, and Gwendolyne Alexander, felt that this was a case of Racism, because Mr. Royale is black.
It's going to be a sad day in this country when women have to give men sex on demand because it's "politically correct"...
6. And lastly, that inane JUNETEENTH/SARAH DIDN'T HAVE SEX WITH ME TWENTY YEARS AGO AND NOW I NEED $$$ FOR PAIN AND SUFFERING lawsuit that was filed by Alexander and Royale was thrown out of court.
2nd time trying to post...
You're right Hefmier...
"The 2nd Annual Alaska Juneteenth Conference concluded this week with Gov. Sarah Palin speaking passionately about the contributions of African Americans to Alaska. The mention of her sincere appreciation for the African American army engineers who built the Alcan Highway during WWII,leading to the defeat of the invading Japanese army, was very well received by local and national Juneteenth leaders in attendance."

SusanW, I believe that Bill McAlister, who was the Governor's spokesman, is bi-racial (half-white, half-black). However, you would not really know it if you saw a picture of him.
Independent not that you care, but here is a good recap of these ridiculous charges and how pathetic they were at the time they were alleged. Leftist like you were grasping for straws then and you seem to like diving back into the gutter now. Only the pathetic 20% that are willing to call themselves liberals care about any of this crap. Please read this post for another point of view and perhaps educate yourself to a different take on the situation other than that of your fellow liberal hacks in MSM.
http://www.conservatives4palin.com/2009/07/gregory-charles-royal-palin-juneteenth.html
I must say if this incident has you so upset then our president's racist mentor Jeremiah Wright must have kept you up at nights. Now that is a disturbing case of racism. Who would spend twenty years in that hate-filled Church? Oh yeah, Barack and Michelle. What is really disgusting is the fact that they exposed their young children to that atmosphere. How extremely sad. I bet as an enlightened liberal that lack of judgement and the embracing of obvious racism by Barack and Michelle must have left you on suicide watch. I hope you are better.
I'd love to see this posted on their website as a response, but of course I don't think they allow comments. Lame!
Stupid troll. These posts by them are getting dumber and dumber.
A Slogan for the Tea Party: Race is not the issue; We oppose Obama's white half too.
.
As teens, some new mouthy kid to the neighborhood referred to "those n-words" before noticing my friend was present, and then offered the apology of, "That’s alright, (my friend’s name), we know you’re really white on the inside."
Later the police explained to me that the new kid certainly deserved it, but that I can’t do that anymore. Took me a couple of lessons. So now I just, "Use my words."
My words:
NAACP - Bearing false witness, and done to induce hate among brethren. That’s about as low as one can go times two.
It’s a time for choosing (for the President):
If the President truly wants to unite us, he will condemn the recent behavior of the NAACP.
Otherwise, it’s yet another campaign promise broken.
Beer summits not acceptable.
"Otherwise, it’s yet another campaign promise broken."
Yes, that is a good observation. It is hypocritical.
Independent,
Your posts belie your assumed "independence."
The Juneteenth Director seems to think that every ethnic group and every special interest has a right to demand that Gov. Palin attend every one of their events. If the Juneteenth Director had been less full of her own importance, she would have realized that Gov. Palin attends only a small fraction of the events, festivals and celebrations in Alaska. By applying the warped logic of the Juneteenth Director, I declare that Hussein Obeymao is the biggest racist in the country because he did not attend the Armenian Commemoration festival, the Croatian Liberation festival, the Yupic Fall festival, the Blackfoot Remembrance event, the Laotian harvest festival and the Jewish Yom Kippur. There, we knew Hussein was a racist all along.
.
The National Anti-American Communist Party (NAACP) is certainly living up to its name.
Coincidentally, the Tea Party main target in this coming mid-term election is the Democrat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid who don't think very highly of "dark-skinned African American who speak N----- dialect" ie the people who made up of NAACP.

- "He calls us the N-word and we have to throw him a lunch and re-elect him ? "
The NAACP was founded by white Marxists -- Mary White Ovington, Oswald Garrison Villard, William English Walling and Henry Moscowitz -- to exploit the Springfield, Illinois race riots of 1908. They were soon joined by some 60 other radicals, of whom all were white except for seven. Branches were established in cities such as Boston, Baltimore, Kansas City, Washington, D.C., Detroit, and St. Louis. Inspired by the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia, membership in the NAACP exploded tenfold, from a mere 9,000 in 1917 to 90,000 in 1919. For many years, NAACP focused on promoting Marxism and kept abreast with the rise of socialism in Europe. Many of its members were also members of the CPUSA. Later, the NAACP broadened its message, embracing other Left-wing movements such as the Civil Rights Movement as its own, to become the NAACP as we know it today.

Must say Adrienne that this an excellent piece. Both moving and very well written. I agree with some of the other posters that Sarah should somehow present or link this on her FaceBook page, with your permission of course.
