Cover Photo for Governor Palin's New Book Revealed

Via ABC News, Harper Collins has released the cover photo of Governor Palin's new book, America by Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith and Flag:

The cover photo for Sarah Palin's new book is a portrait in red, white, blue and gray.

The Alaska ex-governor and former Republican vice presidential candidate is photographed in close-up, wearing a gray sweater and American flag pin, which matches her flag bracelet. Her book, "America by Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith and Flag," comes out in November.

HarperCollins, which also published Palin's million-selling "Going Rogue," revealed the cover design Thursday.

Kjanlady,  July 29, 2010 3:01 PM

So the cover of the book is ready.......the book itself?........potential early release date?.........a rally for potential common sense conservatives all across the country with a book signing to follow?.........that would drive the looney leftists to leap over that cliff they are heading for.......I would LMAO.

Great cover by the way.....great lady......and my guess is it's gonna be a great book.

BetseyRoss,  July 29, 2010 3:10 PM

That cover is just wonderful.  I'd buy the book without knowing what's in it.  I do, but judging a book by it's cover is something we all do.  Especially this one!

<span>Amazon: $14.03 & eligible for FREE Super Saver Shipping </span>

<span>Product DescriptionIn the fall of 2009, with the publication of her #1 national bestselling memoir, Sarah Palin had the privilege of meeting thousands of everyday Americans on her extraordinary 35-city book tour. Inspired by these encounters, her new book, AMERICA BY HEART: Reflections on Family, Faith, and Flag, celebrates the enduring strengths and virtues that have made this country great.

Framed by her strong belief in the importance of family, faith, and patriotism, the book ranges widely over American history, culture, and current affairs, and reflects on the key values—both national and spiritual-that have been such a profound part of Governor Palin’s life and continue to inform her vision of America’s future. Written in her own refreshingly candid voice, AMERICA BY HEART will include selections from classic and contemporary readings that have moved her-from the nation’s founding documents to great speeches, sermons, letters, literature and poetry, biography, and even some of her favorite songs and movies. Here, too, are portraits of some of the extraordinary men and women she admires and who embody her deep love of country, her strong rootedness in faith, and her profound love and appreciation of family. She will also draw from personal experience to amplify these timely (and timeless) themes—themes that are sure to inspire her numerous fans and readers all across the country.http://www.amazon.com/America-Heart-Reflections-Family-Faith/dp/0062010964/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=</span>

What a lovely photo of her.  I am sure the contents of the book will be even better than the last one.  Preorder the book if you can, it can only help her ;)

Firelight,  July 29, 2010 3:12 PM

She is sooo beautiful!! I like this cover, she looks warm, inviting and ready for a heartfelt chat. I just mailed my refunds from the Alaska fund to her new fund!! Now I want her next book.

My goodness, could you imagine her kicking off her book tour to coincide with her stump tour this fall for the elections? It would be Palin mania and values sweeping the nation at the very time people need to vote!!

One can dream!!

Bestbud,

Excellent statement: 'leading America as President-At-Large".

Isn't she beautiful?  Beyond words.

VIVA SARAH !

riley4palin,  July 29, 2010 3:20 PM

What does the book cover release tell us?

1.  Very few people in the world are this marketable.  The book doesn't have a release date until November, and yet, on July 29th, the photograph was released to the media for the slow roll out/book launch.

2.  The Palin camp played an key role in development, book cover, content, promotion, and release date - including this photograph.  This is not someone just "wanting to sell some books."  This is someone who knows her value as a person and politician with a very strategic plan in place to achieve her goals.  Has it only been a year since she resigned from office?   :)

3.  Barack Obama, Mitt Romney, and every other 2012 Presidential candidate just lost their lunch.

4.  Jeb Bush made an announcement that he isn't running for President in 2012 two days ago.  Marco Rubio then came out publically and stated that he thinks Jeb should still run.  Palin comes out today with the book cover photograph.  There are no coincidences in politics and timing is everything.

5.  This book will sell millions and the first thing people see on the cover is SARAH PALIN.  Sarah Palin has definitely Gone Rogue....now she is running for President.

IheartSarah,  July 29, 2010 3:22 PM

She is absolutely gorgeous!  Just when Obama thinks he has the public right where he wants them, his appearance on "the View,"  she sucks all the air out of his room.

Bill in Baltimore,  July 29, 2010 3:23 PM

slightly O/T

today at the 8 o'clock news on the radio, I couldn't believe what I heard.

I'll just give the outline, can't remember the exact flow, but the story was this, and I do remember them saying "Mama Grizzly" or "Momma Bear and her cubs", definitely the terms that would make one think of, hmmmm, a "Mama Grizzly".
- and definitely "2 cubs"

- a man comes upon a "mama grizzly bear and her 2 cubs in Yellowstone Park"
- the man is killed
- the grizzly bear is killed

Now, accidents happen a lot, is it really newsworthy for the 8 o'clock news ?

and the terminology was definitely written by someone who has an uninvited guest living rent-free in their brain.

Article, just kind of weird, imo.

"[The spokesman] described the rampage -- in which campers in three different tents were mauled as they slept -- as a highly unusual predatory attack" She basically targeted the three people and went after them. . . . [The cubs] are unlikely to be returned to the wild because they could have been learning predatory behavior from their mother.

Here's another interesting headline:
Grizzly Bear Suspected In Fatal Yellowstone Attack Captured

Whitney the Pipsqueak,  July 29, 2010 3:27 PM

Another stark constrast between Sarah and Obama. Obama loves the camera, but the camera loves Sarah.

Her photogenicness (is that a word?) is annoying.....in a good way....:)

riley4palin,  July 29, 2010 3:28 PM

Bill:

Sometimes the timing of your posts really suck.

People are really pumped and excited about seeing Palin's new book cover and you bring to our attention some sad news about a bear attack.

You sound like Brian Williams on the NBC Nightly News.

How about being a bit more uplifting?

dr vicki,  July 29, 2010 3:30 PM

Sorry Bill, don't follow you.

Cover looks great. She is such an attractive woman, in the lovely girl next door sort of way.

There is one teeny, tiny thing I don't like about this cover. The pose they have her in is just too much like the avatar that screech Maureen Dowd uses on her articles. Ugh.

I am excited about this book. More so than the bio. I love reading these kind of essay books where you can pick it up and put it down as your busy life dictates.

riley4palin,  July 29, 2010 3:31 PM

KJ:

Slow release is better.

Keeps everyone interested, drives up sales, and makes the White House, MSM, and her competitors crazy.  :)

Michigan,  July 29, 2010 3:34 PM

Whoa there Governor, looking good.  Seriously, how can people hate this woman?

I am pretty sure this picture was taken on the same day she did the last Hannity interview.

Whitney the Pipsqueak,  July 29, 2010 3:35 PM

My bangs are supposed to look like that. They rarely cooperate though.

Denise J,  July 29, 2010 3:37 PM

Stunning book cover that invites you in to read.
Can't wait for release.

The Governor sure knows how to keep her name out there for discussion.

How exciting this success must be for her whole family. What satisfaction.

riley4palin,  July 29, 2010 3:38 PM

Palin looks good on the cover of her new book, but you should see the picture of Mitt Romney on the paperback version of his book.

Hello Firelight!... great thoughts, wouldn't that be something for voters, I know I'd be there somewhere.
Wouldn't be surprised if it's not in the workings, and let's keep dreaming.

Blessings to you and family, bet the little one has grown a ton since last December... I'm going to kick myself if I didn't remember correctly you had a little one, you did didn't you?

happymullah,  July 29, 2010 3:44 PM

Just love that smile.

Bean Counter,  July 29, 2010 3:47 PM

Beautiful.

Just printed out a 5x7 and it's sitting on my desk as we speak. LOVE the hair down.

Saw the cover of the GR paperback, which says there is new material in it, so I guess we'll all have to buy that one again as well.

Rightmindedmom,  July 29, 2010 3:47 PM

Me too!  After receiving the refund, I forwarded it, in the enclosed envelope, to her new Sarah Palin Legal Defense Fund.  I really hope, that after all refunds are received and the amounts are added up, that her new fund takes in as much or MORE than the original fund.  Wouldn't that turn this adversity into good??  As The Bible says, "All things work together for good, to those that love God".  That seems to be a summary of the recent life of Sarah Palin -- all the bad things that have happened to her, all have come out for good.  The new book cover looks GREAT, BTW.

Palin: You know what, Chris, what the heck I may as well tell ya , Yes I am, and I'm gonna win.

Guys... Just imagine what happens next.. every netwrok and channel in the world pre-empts whatever hey are showing...

They are probably eagerly anticipating the next Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich book.

Bill in Baltimore,  July 29, 2010 3:57 PM

I am in a weird mood.......today.........not one word, people.

Bill in Baltimore,  July 29, 2010 4:01 PM

sorry to rain on your parade, the actual point was she's living rent-free in people's heads, even those who write copy for a tradegy in Yellowstone Park. Just like this book will cause even more people to think about her (ideals) 24x7

O/T
Hey check this out long article by Robert Costa at NRO:
<span>Joe Miller: The Incumbent Hunter</span>
<span>Joe Miller looks to upset Sen. Lisa Murkowski in Alaska.</span>
<span></span>In part:
One person who has readily identified with Miller’s message is Palin, the high-flying former governor, who endorsed him in June, via a glowing, 735-word essay on Facebook. “Contested primaries are so good for America’s political process,” Palin wrote. “Competition makes everyone work harder, be more efficient, debate clearer, and produce more. So, Alaskans should be thrilled that Joe Miller jumped in the GOP race and is ready, willing, and able to serve us as our next United States Senator.”
Miller’s and Palin’s paths have aligned before. Two years ago, Miller helped Palin try to oust the state GOP chairman. Though they were unsuccessful, the pair bonded. “He has fought alongside me and others to help clean up the Republican Party here in Alaska by bringing in new leadership, new ideas, and commitment to putting government back on the side of the people, not any political machine,” Palin noted in her endorsement. Palin’s husband, Todd, has also become a Miller ally. The mama-grizzly boost helped put him on the map.
Be sure to read the entire article - it's good!

blackbird,  July 29, 2010 4:10 PM

You know Whitney her photogenicness says a lot... a lot more than, she just takes great photos, it goes very very deep to the expressing of the goodness of the soul, you can see it in her eyes, the energy, beauty and kindness is blinding.

This is from Steve Goodier

The story comes from Zig Ziglar's book, SEE YOU AT THE TOP. He tells about an old man who stood on a Virginia river bank many years ago.

He was waiting to cross the river and, since it was bitterly cold and there were no bridges, he would have to "catch a ride" to the other side. After a lengthy wait he spotted a group of horsemen approaching. He let the first one pass, then the second, third, fourth, and fifth. One rider remained. As he drew abreast, the old man looked him in the eye and said, "Sir, would you give me a ride across the river?"

The rider immediately replied, "Certainly." Once across the river, the old man slid to the ground. "Sir," the rider said before leaving. "I could not help but notice that you permitted all the other men to pass without asking for a ride. Then, when I drew abreast, you immediately asked me to carry you across. I am curious as to why you didn't ask them and you did ask me."

The old man quietly responded, "I looked into their eyes and could see no love and knew in my own heart it would be useless to ask for a ride. But, when I looked into your eyes, I saw compassion, love and the willingness to help. I knew you would be glad to give me a ride across the river."

The rider was touched. "I'm grateful for what you are saying," he said. "I appreciate it very much." With that, Thomas Jefferson turned and rode off to the White House.

What I see when I look at that photograph:

Message 1:

Hello America.  I am Sarah Palin.  There are many things you may have heard about me in the media, but I can stay unequivocally, many things were just not true.  Enjoy my new book.

Message 2:

Hello America.  I am Sarah Palin.  I am a wife, mother, grandmother, good friend and a person who loves her country.  Enjoy my new book.

Message 3:

Hello America. I am Sarah Palin.  Feel free to learn more about me as a person, my interests, and what I feel is important to me personally.  I want YOU to know me.

Message 4:

Hello America.  I am Sarah Palin and I love God and my country.  God gets me through each day and the United States of America is the greatest place in the entire world.  I will never apologize for Her Greatness.

hrh,  July 29, 2010 4:18 PM

Neither does Sarah Palin.

Molta Buona Sarah!!...

TheTotalConservative,  July 29, 2010 4:21 PM

Amazing photo. She looks young and beautiful. The cover is one of Governor Palin's best pictures ever. She is a true beauty and a great conservative. I will absolutely buy a couple books.

Sapwolf,  July 29, 2010 4:22 PM

Only $14.03?  I'd add a second mortgage and raid my IRA for just the Table of Contents.

Can't wait.

LadySam,  July 29, 2010 4:23 PM

I love this cover............has a little of "go for it" smirk  :)  Yes she is beautifu!

blackbird,  July 29, 2010 4:23 PM

I have said this before:

Edith Wharton best sums up how I see Sarah. There are two ways of spreading the light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.

Sometimes we are candles. We shed light of love and hope. We shine encouragement into dark souls. Or we illuminate with insight.

But sometimes we reflect the light. We are mirrors to enable others to see the light of their own goodness and beauty. And when we have no other light of our own, we are mirrors which reflect a greater Light.

God bless and protect all who support and defend Sarah and her family.

LadySam,  July 29, 2010 4:24 PM

I love this cover.............has a little of 'go for it' smirk.  Yes, she is beautiful!!!

TheTotalConservative,  July 29, 2010 4:24 PM

That is one beautiful photo. Governor Palin looks so young and amazing. The hags on the view are jealous of her beauty especially Joyless Behag.

Sapwolf,  July 29, 2010 4:25 PM

All those people who said she lacks depth, she can't talk the issues will not be able to ignore the substance in this second book.

If due to laziness, or solitary confinement you don't know who Sarah Palin is by now, there will be NO EXCUSES after this book is out.

riley4palin,  July 29, 2010 4:26 PM

No coincidences.

Obama on The View...

Jeb Bush stating he will not run for Pres in 2012...

Marco Rubio pushing Jeb Bush to run...

Newt calling Palin "polarizing"...

I guess that's it.  Mittens hasn't said Boo since his "knucklehead" comment last week.

--------

Palin times everything perfectly.

TheTotalConservative,  July 29, 2010 4:28 PM

She is amazing. Governor Palin does not even look 40 in that photo. I hope she does a few signings in New Hampshire, Iowa, and South Carolina. She is beloved in South Carolina. I absolutely believe she is leading in South Carolina for sure.

jimr3,  July 29, 2010 4:29 PM

Only 915 more supporters to hit the 2 MILLION mark on FaceBook!

Sapwolf,  July 29, 2010 4:32 PM

Correct John.  It would not be a good idea to draw focus away from the effort to wrestle Congress back from the statists.  I suspect the tour will begin before the end of November and go into December.

happymullah,  July 29, 2010 4:35 PM

Whitney,

Photogenicness! Yes, let that be a new word, then.  When talking about Sarah, we will always need to come up with new words.  And no apologies.

VIVA SARAH !

PatrickinOH,  July 29, 2010 4:37 PM

Sorry to be late to the party.  WOW!  I love this cover.  She is so beautiful both inside and out.  I can't wait to read it!  How anyone can hate this woman is beyond me.

Bestbud,  July 29, 2010 4:37 PM

Hi Bean... what can I say, these glasses of mine were a darn good investment.
You think if I posted a picture with them on everyone would say the same thing? :)

BTW... can you keep a secret?   I have the distinction of getting a future President's highly regarded opinion of them.

She, I won't name names, uttered "Hey, Nice Glasses" just as I walked toward her.......uh..........uh...........uh, where was I? -:))

happymullah,  July 29, 2010 4:39 PM

She bought it in Hawaii for 35 cents in the same store she bought her wedding ring.

VIVA SARAH !

Nancy,  July 29, 2010 4:42 PM

Get used to that look Obama, because that is the look you will be seeing across the stage from her, right after she takes your words/record/loser attitude, and uses them against you.
It will be a beautiful thing.
Like her.

jimr3,  July 29, 2010 4:42 PM

<span>Daniel Foster at NRO adds the following in The Corner about Bob Costa's article:</span>
<span><span>The Beard of Victory</span></span>
<span><span>Bob</span>, one reason to support candidate Joe Miller? His beard.</span>
<span>Of course Daniel Foster is a little prejudiced, he himself sports a beard. </span>
<span>

Speaking for hirsute-Americans, I think it's about time for facial hair to make a comeback in the GOP. <span>According to historians</span>, the Republicans have the hairier legacy of the two parties, and yet who is the last bearded Republican Senator you can name? We mustn't let a Democrat, <span>former Sen. Jon Corzine of New Jersey</span>, continue to be the standard-bearer of scruff in that august body.
Remember, it was a Republican A. Lincolnwho single-handedly took facial hair from prohibited to mandatory in Washington. For <span>sixty</span> fifty-plus years following Lincoln's adoption of the chin-strap, one couldn't be a successful president without credible facial hair.
</span>

Nancy,  July 29, 2010 4:44 PM

This is the look Obama will get in their debates, right after she uses his words/record/loserness as a Nightstick to beat him over the head with.
It will be a beautiful thing.
Just like that book cover.

ZH,  July 29, 2010 4:44 PM

<span> Beautiful cover!</span>

GAHanson,  July 29, 2010 4:45 PM

The moment she announces that she's running, both her books will be back on the bestsellers list.  Both of them will be a tremendous campaign asset.

blackbird,  July 29, 2010 4:45 PM

<span>"...How anyone can hate this woman is beyond me..." Exactly Patrick. You are not late my friend its now starting \o/\o/
</span>

Hey Piasano,  July 29, 2010 4:47 PM

Like the best of wines they get better with age. The left will go through the roof when they see her 2012.

Bestbud,  July 29, 2010 4:49 PM

Hey! I know everyone has spent their future dollars already on the book...
... but don't forget the Money Bomb!!

FACEBOOK  1,999,145... It will be only two or three hours @ 300+ per hour.

Just remember... She's given us far more than we have given her!

jimr3,  July 29, 2010 4:50 PM

I am very happy to see a conservative publication like the NRO giving this good man the attention he deserves.

Kjanlady,  July 29, 2010 4:53 PM

I wonder how many millions she will sell in pre-orders.......wouldn't it be great if she was #1 on the NYT's bestseller list say starting August 1st and remained there til after the first of the year......then she announces her presidential campaign......regains the top of the list status and remains there until after Nov 2012.....wonder if she will give barry a copy as a going away present?

BostonBruin,  July 29, 2010 4:56 PM

... and don't forget the DVD's of the Alaska documentary!

Nancy,  July 29, 2010 4:59 PM

This book will slow sales of Mitt's book.
Guaranteed.

Palin Promotions,  July 29, 2010 4:59 PM

Just pre-ordered my second copy!

ellen,  July 29, 2010 5:03 PM

can you slow something that isn't moving?
does this mean people will start returning mitty's book?

Firelight,  July 29, 2010 5:05 PM

Yes, two.  It was my daughter that stood in line with us.  My son was waiting out in the mall with his daddy!!!

Penny,  July 29, 2010 5:11 PM

riley4palin,  July 29, 2010 5:16 PM

My #1 NY Times Best Seller the "Obama Diaries" is still #1..........for another few hours.  That Palin is really starting to get on my nerves.

- Laura Ingraham

riley4palin,  July 29, 2010 5:18 PM

LOL!!

I love this woman.

Obama. Flattened. Like. Pancake.

Whitney the Pipsqueak,  July 29, 2010 5:20 PM

Oh, she's going to the border!?! Are Sarah and her future homeland security secretary, Jan Brewer, taking a trip?!

Now she's taunting the President!! Wow. Just when I thought she couldn't be any more bold! Wow. Love it.

GoneRogue,  July 29, 2010 5:21 PM

I pre-ordered several months ago and I can barely contain myself. I feel like a kid when it comes to Sarah. Maybe because she is my first ever role model, at my age that's really sad. No matter, I have one now. The day she takes her oath of office, I will be a blubbering idiot. Lord, thank you for this precious gift! Your light and love shine in Sarah Palin.

riley4palin,  July 29, 2010 5:24 PM

Yeah Baby!!

Going to the border!

Getting visual....

Palin dressed in her camos with Brewer....

Obama sitting daintily in his comfy chair asking for two more sugar cubes for his English Breakfast Tea.

She's freakin' awesome!

JeanA,  July 29, 2010 5:26 PM

No she did not.

Indemind,  July 29, 2010 5:27 PM

Man...is she pretty!

sarah the beautiful 2012

JeanA,  July 29, 2010 5:52 PM

I want that bracelet.

AnnO,  July 29, 2010 5:54 PM

Totally agree with you Whitney - Sarah is very photogenic. She is a beautiful on the inside as well as on the outside.

AnnO,  July 29, 2010 6:01 PM

I've added Sarah on my facebook - unfortunately she hasn't accepted me "as a friend" yet.

SusanW,  July 29, 2010 6:11 PM

Oh, she is a saucy thing, isn't she?

She sees right through wittle Pwesident Obama...and it must chill him to the bone.

gardunne63,  July 29, 2010 6:18 PM

President Palin will be the first president to not turn gray-haired by the end of his/her first term.

Shouldn't we women hate her just a little for being so drop-dead gorgeous? <g></g>

lonestar,  July 29, 2010 6:34 PM

I would almost guarantee this book is dedicated to the men and women of the Armed Forces.

lonestar,  July 29, 2010 6:36 PM

No, we should rejoice that a beautiful woman has achieved so much based not on looks, but ability.

MarkRNY,  July 29, 2010 6:37 PM

Man, does she look beautiful. She's playing them all like a violin!

SarahFanUK,  July 29, 2010 6:55 PM

Simply beautiful - inside and out! Great cover.

Steven,  July 29, 2010 7:03 PM

Already brought the book. Get it on Amazon pre-order. Should get it first day it's out.

tim c,  July 29, 2010 7:21 PM

That pic is just the BEST, but too soft. The next has to have her determined pitbull face with the steely eyes, very intimidating.

Michael from Michigan,  July 29, 2010 7:55 PM

Sarah will be even more beautiful on that Day--if that is even possible!!!  I guess, I need to go pre-order it at Barns & Noble, shortly.

palintologist,  July 29, 2010 8:50 PM

Oooh, if it's a crisp day (Gorebull warming, you know), she could wear a fur-trimmed hat as she's sworn in.  Would that be cool for the history books or what?

c4pfan,  July 29, 2010 8:59 PM

I already ordered mine!  The cover is fantastic.  Well done.

palintologist,  July 29, 2010 9:08 PM

Geesh, I thought she looked good on the first one!  Wonder if it was the same photographer?  Wasn't there a problem (some months later) with the guy who photographed her for GR?  Beck has a couple portrait shots that are really nice, and I heard him tell a story about the guy who took them -- who's a major lib -- and how Glenn knew he was a man of integrity who wouldn't sell his work to unauthorized outlets.  He's the only photog Beck will use now.  Wonder if Sarah asked Glenn about this guy?

M. Minnesota,  July 30, 2010 12:41 AM

Ellen,

They won't be able to return Mitt's book.   Oh well, Doorstop.

Huskers-For-Palin,  July 31, 2010 5:19 PM

The Rubio campaign sent me letter asking for money.  After his latest "quibbling" of LB1070 I stuck a note in the letter telling him to "STICK IT".  He has dissed Sarah, pandered way too much to the Latino vote, shoved Arizona under the bus and is acting like a slick RINO (IMHO).

No thanks Marco....you've lost my support.

Huskers-For-Palin,  July 31, 2010 5:22 PM

another 3am call to Obama....."Mr. President, SHE"S RUNNING!!!"
