Type, Type, Type, Send...to Two Million - UPDATE
I'm not sure what I can add to this occasion that hasn't already been laid out by my fellow barbarians, but here goes.
Two million people now follow Governor Palin on Facebook, and that number is steadily climbing. Two million plus hear directly from Governor Palin without the biased filter of the lamestream media.
If you can't go through 'em, go around 'em:
"You go through the gate. If the gate’s closed, you go over the fence. If the fence is too high, we’ll pole vault in. If that doesn’t work, we’ll parachute in. If the other side tries to push back, your attitude should be “go for it.” Get in their faces and argue with them. (Sound familiar?!) Every possession is a battle; you’ll only win the war if you’ve picked your battles wisely. No matter how tough it gets, never retreat, instead RELOAD!
Most politicians are on Facebook, but none wield it like Sarah Palin. She's Facebooking the Revolution:
She's controlling her message; a Facebook phenomenon. In the words of Mary Matalin:
“I can’t answer what her strategy is, but I can say that it’s working.”
Having been the Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin knows what it is to have to go directly to the American people. Back in July of 2008, it was about getting out the message of drilling in ANWR. She said:
We're doing things differently; we're not just talking to those on the Hill, we don't have...a lot of the movers and shakers, the high paid lobbyists...
We are shifting gears away from the conventional way of trying to get a message out, and we're going right to the people of America.
This strategy causes some in the media to get their underpants all wound up in a bunch. After all, they're the ones who are supposed to tell the American people what to think. She should have to go through them! She's not playing by the rules!
She's doing very poorly in this war. Tsk, tsk.
Sarah Palin knows that the media plays a very important role in this republic, and it's a crying shame that many have chosen to sacrifice their journalistic integrity to protect a pipe dream.
Thank goodness we live in America where new innovations are making it easier and easier to go around the lamestream media filter and to get out the truth. In any other age, the media would have succeeded in their campaign of deception and destruction. This is still a battle, but it's a battle we can win.
Now, as you well know, we're holding a Money Bomb for SarahPAC to mark this occasion. Since she's hit 2 million followers, some have suggested donations of either $20, $200, or whatever you can afford. No amount is too big or too small.
So go here and donate if you can. And if you have an extra second, drop by the Governor's Facebook page and leave some comments encouraging others to do the same.
As the 'Cuda would say, "Thank you, God bless you, and God bless America."
UPDATE: Or, as Tammy Bruce says, "She typed. She sent. She conquered."

I sent $25.00 to Sarah Pac. What a great day I feel like I did after her Vic. Pres. nomination speech. Keep up the good work Sarah.
I sent her money online but have not received an email receipt. I hope it went through correctly. Or even better, I hope the system is swamped. I sent it hours ago. I aso have a check endosed to go back to her from the legal defense fund brouhaha.
My all time favorite Tammy Bruce segment. "For an irrelevant quitter, I've never seen such powerful typing in my life"
Classic!
I just got in and way to go Palin. That's The People's Governor right there.

Congratulations Madame 45.
O/T: I've seen some critical mentions off and on in the media since last November about Sarah endorsing Doug Hoffman in the NY-23 election last year. Some said it hurt her because Hoffman lost a close race. Hoffman was clearly winning the 3-way race between himself, the GOP candidate and notorious leftist Dede Scozzafava, and the Pelosi Democrat Owens. Sarah bravely endorsed Doug in that race even though it could be risky in some people's eyes. However, it turned out to be a wise and great choice. Newt Gingrich, despite his attempts to pump up his conservative creds boldly backed Scozzafava in that race. The NRCC sent $900,000 to Dede's campaign that otherwise could have been sent to Doug. Dede was a far leftist, not even close to a moderate. Rham Emmanuel got to her and turned her against her own party. She not only dropped out of the race, but three days before the election, she backed Owens the Pelosi Dem.
With Sarah's brave and correct endorsement, and with Newt's epic failure and betrayal of conservatism and his country, Sarah has EFFECTIVELY eliminate Newt from serious contention for the GOP nomination. He may think he can win the GOP nomination, but he is so clueless and utterly blind to his Benedict Arnold performance.
The wedge that will slay Newt and the rallying cry against ANY and ALL of his supporters will be "Scozzafava!"
With her Hoffman endorsement, Sarah effectively showed Republicans who is wiser, braver, in touch with the people and it illustrated Newt to be out-of-touch and an elitist and a DC insider who is 'part of the problem'.
Hey Newt? We are gonna Scozzafava you. You have NO CHANCE with Sarah in the hunt. NO CHANCE.
The "Polite War" video is REALLY FRICKIN' CRACKING ME UP. From now on, that's all I'll think of when she types a new FB Note or Tweet, lol.
So, now we need to pick a vp for her.
Who tops the list?
Just a bit more about FB numbers.
Obama - May 2008 about 850,000
Obama - Oct 2008 about 2,200,000
That is, it nearly tripled with the focus of the public during the election campaign.
Now some "what ifs". Say Sarah has 5 mill by the time she wins the primary. I think that is a reasonable guess. So maybe 15 mill in the last stages of the election?
That is a huge number, an almost overwhelming powerful campaign platform. And an instant unfiltered way of putting out policies and responding to events. And with those sort of numbers, she hardly even needs the media to get her message out, they will have to disseminate her FB postings just to remain relevant.
Some implications:
1) Obviously FB will be a significant and important campaign tool. Perhaps the one of the most important. Sarah's FB is hugely important now, but will become increasingly so.

2) It will be an important campaign tool in the primaries as well. Advantage Sarah.

3) It will make it harder for "dark horse" primary candidates to get traction. More so then in the past.
4) It reduces the importance of the MSM.
5) But, Obama will use his FB page for similar purposes. He will be learning from the master/mistress, and copy it of course. In a way that negates her advantage because he has large numbers, possibly larger.
6) But following on 5), how are Mitt and Huck and Newt going to compete with Obama. They don't have the general media on their side, and likely won't have that large a following on FB. On in other words, they are seriously at a disadvantage compared to Sarah in this area of communication alone. No wonder Mitt and Huck especially are pushing to increase their FB numbers.
Seriously, I think if we think about FB, it looks like it will become a major platform in the election, more so then now, and certainly in the case of Sarah and/or Obama. And of course, Sarah is a political genius for making her FB page into such a powerful political tool.

I have watched that thing probably 25 times. Cracks me up every time.
Sorry to disagree with you on your take of Newt G. I think he can be an asset to the party. He's got a lot of ideas, and good fiscal creds.
But, in agreement. I don't see any point in electing republicans who are so far left you may as well put a democrat in. Look at Snowe, Collins and Brown. Yeah, they vote with the Republicans a lot. But on the really critical stuff when you need them most, they jump ship. So what's the point.
That's what killed Blanche Lincoln in Arkansas. She campaigned as a blue dog, but when the health care vote came around, she buckled and voted with the lefties against the wishes of her constituency. She'll likely lose this November by double digits for that vote alone.
Whoever they are, they should help the ticket, not hurt it, and be somone who could take her place and STILL fight hard and courageously to reduce the size of the federal government and respect the Constitution.
OT, kinda...............You can pre-order 'America By Heart' at Barnes and Noble for $14 + tax & shipping. Let's make it a #1 before it's released!!!
Doc, Dede was a far leftist. She was noticably left of Snowe and Collins and Brown. There was NO EXCUSE for what Newt did. He can teach history in a Palin administration, but he is not Presidential material. He can help out in other ways but not when it comes to crunch time and a tough decision has to be made. His baggage and ego are too much.
I don't think so. I mean, I think she'll keep using Facebook, but I think she'll diversify into other things. I think she'll start doing more you tube outreach videos, talk about stuff on camera. It'll be different. Not just Facebook.
OT- Ok. I am really just seeing if this works. I wanted to put this on here because I thought ya'll would really appreciate it. It is video of my two-year old saying the Pledge of Allegiance. Hope it works!

Could you not see it?
No. I wouldn't give him much chance in the primary. I agree with the baggage. He has too much.
But, I also think his position on the tea party has evolved. I think we can cut people some slack. May I remind you that early in the 08 election, the Gov said she liked Romney.
The party regulars were justified to fear the tea party candidates because it has the potential of splitting the vote. Case in point, that seat was lost to a Democrat. The Sharon Angle thing is looking scarey too. Reid was very vulnerable. It would have been a real psychological victory to pick that off. And then there's the Charlie Crist/Marco Rubio drama.
The reason these guys back the establishment candidate is because, when the get a R in the seat, that R caucuses with the Republicans. So even if they do lean left, you have the potential of leveraging them into support. If the seat goes to a D, you have no political sway.
Even Gov Palin has supported other candidates when it was politically expendient to do so. She backed Carly Fiorina over the tea party candidate in CA.
I just don't find it particularly egregious that he endorsed Scozafava. The guy had some serious baggage in that he didn't even technically live in the district he was running in.
I
"Newt Gingrich is too much of a shape-shifter. It is very hard to trust him. Some days he applauds Nancy Pelosi for her “leadership” and Al Gore for his “leadership” on Global Warming. Other days he denounces the “elites” and the Muslim Victory Mosque. He is like that you-never-know-what-you-are-going-to get Box of Chocolates." -comment on Hotair

like who?
It'll be tricky. If you want to run against Obama's lack of experience making him an ineffective , it's tough to put another young gun on the ticket.
Do you put a guy like Jindal on. She'll probably already have a lock on the south.
Do you try to get someone who might help you pick off Michigan.
Then again, getting Florida and Virginia would be major.
I am currently under-employed and virtually broke but, Goddess Bless, I just send SarahPac $20.12. Priorities, ya know.....
;-)
That clip is hilarious!!!!! Oh my gosh! LOL!
(psssstttt, did anyone else think those guys could have been Pawlenty, Huckabee, Romney, Jeb, and Thune?)
Ok, nevermind, I will try this again in the morning. I am not too good with this stuff. My husband usually does all this.
Spoken in truth.
But if we want to take back the Whitehouse in 12, we'll need every chocolate in the box to do it.
We'll need the support of every branch of conservative there is in this country. And we'll need to win over the independents as well.
Uffda was correcting me just in case anyone was having trouble following that conversation. I deleted a link I put up because I need to work on making it work a little better.
It was egregious because he didn't take one minute to figure out that if the NRCC and he had backed Hoffman from the get-go, that seat would be with a solid conservative who planned to caucus with the GOP in substance and on the surface.
We are not putting any left of center R's in Congress any more. Right of center to varying degrees, but lets stop the madness.
The F'IN establishment does not fear the Tea Party because it will split the vote. They fear the Tea Party because it means they have to share power and actually reduce federal spending and respect the Constitution. Their gravy train is threatened, and that's why they don't like the Tea Party.
Sorry, Sapwolf. But you don't win elections when you start eating your own.
I am a pro life, social conservative, fiscal conservative, state's rights independent. But, I share this great country with a lot of folks who have different view points from mine. If we want to get along, we have to compromise. Gov. Palin understood the value of compromise when she was Gov of Alaska. She knew how to meet in the middle.
And I think you're wrong on the Hoffman Scozzafava thing. I think they backed Scozzafava because they didn't think Hoffman had a snowball's chance of winning. I don't think it was any huge conspiracy, they just wanted to keep the seat.
You have to remember, Hoffman was the canary in the mine. He was, if I'm not mistaken, the first "tea party" candidate. No one really knew what would happen.
On Amazon they state "Hardcover: 224 pages".
224 pages? It must already have been written.
Great post "Kelsey"!
For her second term we'll make it $20.16!
I just don't think you're being fair.
Gov Palin has endorsed multiple candidates other than the most conservative horse in the race. And that's okay. But when somebody else does it, they're traitors.
Gov Palin is doing the same thing the other guys are doing, she's trying to back a candidate that she genuinely thinks can win given the choices of those who are running.
It bugs the poopies out of me when R's like the Snowe, Collins, Brown triplets vote with the dems (i.e. financial reform), but it's sure as heck better to have them in there than a Bernie Sanders or a Ted Kennedy.
it's an anthology. It's writings and such from other people on which she makes comments and weaves some of her own writing in and out.
that's my understanding.
I think my email receipt showed up before I closed out the donation page. :)
But, I have donated to the defense fund and SarahPac a bunch of times so they may not have to verify everything everytime.
The couch done him in.
lol!!!!!!!!!!!
Sapwolf, our local tea party is growing x2 with every monthly meeting and they are all clear that they would rather see a lost seat than vote in another 'go along to get along': those days are over.
And at the end of every meeting there is this kind of group chant; It's not over in November, its not over in 2012, it will never be over again. We are awake and we will be forever vigilant. Even if we vote you in, we are still watching you.
These people come for all parties, all walks of life, all colors and creeds and they are so passionate in their promise to fight today to protect tomorrow that I don't think the voter is going to jump through the GOP hoop as usual no matter how much money they raise.
And still MONTHS before it is out!
Rush has been calling Newt "The Party Man" rather frequently lately. That is his subtle way of undermining him after his(Rush's) long dissertation on the Ruling Class piece from the Am Spectator last Monday and continuing. He is calling him out as the Ruling Class which is no compliment.
1) Lt. Col. Allen West, soon to be R-congressman from Florida;
2) General Petraous
3) Governor Chris Christie (although, Attorney General may be the best position for Christie)
4) Congressman Paul Ryan (but maybe Chief Financial Advisor in the Palin Cabinet would be a better fit for Ryan)
5) Mike Pence from Indiana
Any of these would be wonderful choices for VP to Palin 2012.
Mom in Wisconsin
Meeting in the middle doesn't work on most issues. You need to meet somewhat to the right of center. The Dems NEVER settle for the middle. They fight and MOVE the middle to the left. That is why we are where we are.
Total BS on your Hoffman sentence. They knew full well Hoffman was leading in the polls before Newt even endorsed. They had every chance to endore Doug. They wouldn't because they only cared about putting another R in the House, regardless if she voted with Nancy which based on her notorious leftist past she would have. Those days are OVER now because Sarah bravely STOOD UP! Our R's have to be right of center (not necessarily even far right), not left of center. Dede was a disaster for the GOP. The Tea Party does not eat its own. The establishment EATS ITS OWN.
Look, I know you like Newt. I like him too, but he is a professor like Obama and has no credibility or integrity anymore. Could he debate Obama? Sure, he'd run circles around him. But he is not the one for POTUS. There are other avenues where he can pitch in and help. For instance, he can work towards fighting the indoctrination of our schools and universities. That is where he could help.
Not as POTUS.
Thank you Rush....again. Pointing out what any grassroots GOP'er or TPM person knows. Newt is DC.
