Obama Explains Why Some People Hate Sarah Palin

Earlier today Bill O’Reilly interviewed President Obama. Various topics including Egypt and Health care came up. What caught my attention where three statements made by the president.

The first one was in response to Bill’s question whether Obama is moving to the centre. To which Obama replied: “No, I haven’t moved anywhere, I’m  the same guy”.  Well Mr. President I’m sure the American people will appreciate your honesty.

The second quote came when Obama tried to explain why there is that perception that he is moving to the centre. The president explained:  “Over the first two years of my presidency we had a complete disaster”. Way to go Mr. President. You’ve passed the first step of fixing a problem; recognizing that there is a problem and who is responsible.

The final one came when Bill asked the president why he thinks some people hate him. The president noted that the people who hate him or any politician for that matter “don’t know you, what they hate is what fun house mirror image of you that is out there”. I happen to agree with the president on this one. Without realizing Obama just made the case why some people hate Governor Palin.

For two years now Governor Palin has been attacked and trashed by the left and the media, her record distorted and everything she says or does twisted and spun into the fun house mirror image the media want to portray her as.

The truth is that people don’t even know Governor Palin and when you challenge them and ask them why they hate her, they can never answer the question. As in this typical example presented by Evan Sayet:

Today, the conversation turned to Sarah Palin and my latest acquaintance blurted out: “Oh I hate her.”  Since she did not yet know my politics, and since we were in Los Angeles, it is clear that she expected to hear back what you usually hear back in this city: “Yeah, I hate her, too.”  Instead, I asked her why.

At this point I could have predicted her response because it’s the same response you get from liberals no matter who on the Right you’re talking about: “Because she’s stupid.”  I replied: “Being stupid is no reason to hate someone, but tell me, which one of her policies do you disagree with?”  It wasn’t hard to predict her response: “All of them!”

I continued to push.  “Well, then, if it’s all of them, it should be easy for you to name one.”  Her reply?  “They’re too many to list.”

“So don’t list them, just give me one,” I said.

This went on for awhile until my new acquaintance finally admitted that she didn’t know any of Ms. Palin’s policies.  Before she ran off – Democrats always run off when asked to provide facts to justify their hatred for Republicans – I looked her in the eyes and said, “If you don’t know any of her policies, perhaps you should look into them.”  She promised she would.  She won’t.  If there are two things you can count on with Democrats, they are filled with hate and empty of facts.

As I have noted in my post The Polarization of Sarah Palin. The media created a character and named it “Sarah Palin”. It is this Sarah Palin that people hate. If those people who supposedly hate her, would only take the time to learn and get to know the “Real Sarah Palin,” the one who is on their side on most issues, the one whose approval numbers prior to being selected as John McCain’s running mate were in the high eighties. When people begin judging her on her policies, her accomplishments and her true character and not on some misinformation presented to them by the media, perhaps then when they step out of the media created fun house they’ll realize that not only do they not hate her, they’ll see in Governor Palin a mirror image of themselves and will actually appreciate the reflection.
