Devastating: DNC Releases Ad on Romney’s Flip Flops
In too many posts to count, including this one, I’ve argued that the Republican Party will be committing electoral suicide if they nominate Mitt Romney. Romney, I’ve noted, can’t beat Obama for myriad reasons, not the least of which is his constant flip floppery. I predicted that, even if Romney’s GOP rivals inexplicably ignore the Mittster’s antics, the Democrats won’t, and are collecting and neatly placing them on the shelf at the DNC, preparing to use them to maximum effect should Mr. 25% be the nominee:
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Obama and his billion dollars will have a field day with this kind of mindless nonsense, even if most of Mitt’s Republican rivals look the other way. Obama won’t.
I was right (that happens sometimes), and today the DNC gave us a taste of what we can expect in 2012 if Republicans accommodate the Obama campaign by nominating the Mittster:
I continue to be amazed that the Republican establishment, who seem obsessed with forcing a Romney nomination on an unwilling grass roots, can’t see this kind of thing coming. And they’ll have no answer for it. Do they want to lose? Whatever Romney’s handlers tell him his message should be will be irrelevant as voters won’t hear it. They’ll instead be focused on the veracity of the messenger. That’s not an area of strength for Mitt Romney, to say the least, and certainly not a winning formula for a challenger to beat an incumbent.
In the ad above, the DNC noted Romney flip flopped on something in 2 minutes and 14 seconds. That’s child’s play for Mitt. Go here to see an example Romney flip flopping in the same sentence. There’s still time, of course, to prevent this train wreck, which could even cost Republicans the Senate, from occurring. But that time is running short. If Romney’s the nominee, expect to be treated to a whole lot of ads just like this one. One billion dollars worth to be exact. You heard it here first.
