On FOX News, DNC Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) responds to a nonpartisan CBO report that shows the cost of healthcare reform to be nearly double of what Democrats predicted in 2010, when the law was passed.
Wasserman Schultz also praises insurance exchanges that are available to those who lose their insurance or don’t have insurance at all. Wasserman Schultz said patients will “be able to get the same coverage, and in many cases better coverage, than they have now” if they use the government-sponsored exchanges.
“If a business decides not to cover their employees anymore, those employees under the Affordable Care Act (AVA) will be able to enter the insurance exchanges, which is private health care insurance that they will be able to get that is the same coverage, and in many cases better coverage than they have now,” Wasserman Schultz told Martha MacCallum on FOX News.
Wasserman Schultz called the healthcare reform legislation “a boon to small businesses” because of the opportunity to get a tax credit under Obamacare.
