Santorum Endorses Mourdock, Mitt Still Hiding in the Tall Grass

Late yesterday, Rick Santorum announced his support for Richard Mourdock via Facebook:

If I lived in Indiana, Richard Mourdock would have my vote in Tuesday’s U.S. Senate primary race.  I encourage Hoosiers to help get out the vote for him.

To be sure, Santorum’s endorsement won’t have anywhere near the impact of Governor Palin’s, but a nod by the man who finished second to presumptive nominee, Mandate Mitt, can’t hurt.  With time winding down to Tuesday’s primary, it will only add to Mourdock’s growing momentum and serve to push at least some Santorum supporters who were on the fence into Mourdock’s column as the bandwagon effect continues to manifest itself.

Speaking of Mandate Mitt, he’s been conspicuously absent from this important primary. As is his custom, when anything the least bit contentious requires him to demonstrate his vaunted leadership skills, he takes a pass. Why lead when it’s safer to avoid offending anyone? But not to worry. With history as a guide, whoever wins Tuesday’s primary — Mourdock or Lugar — can look forward to Mr. Etch-a Sketch’s “prized” endorsement…on Wednesday.  Ask Kelly Ayotte.

Join Michelle Malkin on May 5 for the Hoosier Conservatives Rally for Richard Mourdock! The media is reporting that the Tea Party movement is dead! Join us on May 5 in Indianapolis for a national conservative rally in support of a Tea Party Senate to show the naysayers that the Tea Party movement remains powerful. The May 8 Indiana Senate primary is Scott Brown 2.0 for the Tea Party movement. This race has national implications, and is a chance for Tea Party activists around the country to unite behind Tea Party activist Richard Mourdock against 36-year moderate RINO incumbent Richard Lugar. The race is close and your presence can help the Tea Party win a monumental victory. If we descend on Indianapolis and build momentum for the Tea Party, we’ll be unstoppable in 2012.
