Western Free Press has learned that Sarah Palin has endorsed Kirk Adams for Congress in Arizona’s 5th District. In a release by Kirk Adams, Sarah Palin highlights Adams’ “entrepreneurship and small businesses” experience as one reason for her endorsement. Palin, a national conservative icon, also states:
“If you believe strongly in the need to repeal Obamacare, I hope you’ll join me in supporting Kirk Adams for Congress in Arizona’s 5th Congressional District. Kirk is determined to repeal this mother of all unfunded mandates. And when he gets to Washington he won’t just “join the fight” to repeal Obamacare, he’ll help lead it.
As one of the youngest Speakers in the history of the Arizona House of Representatives, Kirk lead the fight for less government spending, lower taxes, individual freedom, and limited government. As a small businessman, he knows firsthand that entrepreneurship and small businesses (which many of us built ourselves, Mr. President) are the job creating engine of our economy. Kirk is a proven advocate of removing the crushing burdens of excessive government regulation on our small businesses, and in Congress he will fight to put government back on our side and not in our way.
Kirk has been a steadfast supporter of sound immigration laws and was a leading defender of Arizona citizens as he used his platform to accurately describe this state’s predicament to the rest of America. He was the one who helped us all understand how dangerously misguided President Obama is on state’s rights and the rule of law! When President Obama called Arizona’s law “misguided” and then far removed politicians urged a “boycott” of Arizona, Kirk boldly stood up for his state! He became a loud and proud voice against the unsuccessful boycotts as he passionately wrote here:
His tireless efforts worked.
Please join me in supporting Kirk Adams for Congress today.”
Chad Heywood, campaign manager for Kirk Adams, said the endorsement “capped off a great couple of weeks for Kirk.”
“We continue to work hard, knowing that voters don’t want a recently returned DC lobbyist to represent them in Congress,” said Heywood. “We have grassroots community support and we have national support. We also have the endorsement of Arizona Senators Jon Kyl and John McCain. Matt Salmon wants everyone to believe this race is over, and that voters won’t look into his past 10 years of donating to democrats and lobbying for Obamacare. This race will come down to the wire.”
Palin’s endorsement comes at a bad time for Salmon, after allegations have arisen that Matt Salmon’s firm, Upstream Consulting, lobbied on behalf of the president’s deeply unpopular healthcare law. Salmon has responded that the allegations are false but the claims might have been enough to sway the national endorsement of Palin and her supporters.
Interestingly enough, Palin and Adams have been publicly campaigning in support of Chick-fil-A, both supporting Wednesday’s “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day.”
It is not known whether Palin’s endorsement will be accompanied by a rally, visit, or video endorsement. Regardless, Palin’s endorsement is likely to mean a surge of momentum for Adams. With some conservatives on the fence about who to support, an endorsement by a national conservative figure like Palin could make a huge impact. Western Free Press will continue to follow the race to replace Jeff Flake.
The primary election will be held on Tuesday August 28th. You can donate to Adams’ campaign here.
