Al Gore: Obama lost the debate because of Denver’s altitude

I’ve heard several excuses today for Obama’s awful performance in last night’s debate. For example: Obama was over prepared; Obama was under prepared; Obama was tired; Obama had a bad debate coach (John Kerry); Jim Lehrer, the debates left-leaning moderator was secretly helping Mitt Romney (never mind all those life-lines Lehrer kept tossing Obama). All those excuses are funny on their own, of course, but my favorite excuse so far comes courtesy of everybody’s favorite spotted owl, Al Gore:

The sound quality wasn’t great on the above video, so here’s the transcript via Sean Lengell at the Washington Times:

“I’m going to say something controversial here. Obama arrived in Denver at 2 p.m  today, just a few hours before the debate started,” Mr. Gore, the 2000  Democratic presidential nominee, told Current TV. “Romney did his debate prep in  Denver. When you go to 5,000 feet and you only have a few hours to adjust — I  don’t know, maybe.”

I can’t wait to hear the next excuse.  Maybe it will be because he was suffering the ill-effects of Michelle’s cooking.  Now that I’d believe.
