Breitbart has posted a video where CNN claims that you cannot blame any group for extremists. Of course, this comes after rumors are beginning to surface that there may be some kind of international influence behind the Boston bombing.
Yet, as any normal person would remember, other news outlets were allowed to do so the day after the bombing without being called into question. (h/t Newsbusters)
The journalists of Good Morning America on Tuesday pointed a speculative finger in the wake of the Boston bombing. An ABC graphic wondered, “Could this be homegrown terror?” In a segment full of guesses, reporter Pierre Thomas featured leftist Mark Potok, the man who labeled the Family Research Council (FRC) a “hate group.”
Regarding the date that the explosion occurred on, Potok linked, “The real Patriots Day is April 19th. That is the date that counts for people on the extreme right in the United States.” [See video below. MP3 audio here.] Other than Potok, no other expert voices were featured in the segment. News anchor Josh Elliott backed up Potok’s assertions, theorizing, “One big clue could be Monday’s date, April 15th. The anniversaries of some of the most harrowing incidents in domestic terror are coming this week.” Thomas then went on to highlight David Koresh and the Oklahoma City bombing. The justification? They also happened in April.
In addition to ABC, David Axelrod used the bombing to speculate. Via Fox News
In explaining why President Obama didn’t call the Boston bombings a “terrorist attack,” former adviser David Axelrod said, “I’m sure what was going through the president’s mind is — we really don’t know who did this — it was tax day”:”You use those words and it means something very specific in people’s mind. And I’m sure what was going through the president’s mind is — we really don’t know who did this — it was tax day. Was it someone who was pro–you know, you just don’t know. And so I think his attitude is, let’s not put any inference into this, let’s just make clear that we’re going to get the people responsible.”
And finally, let’s not forget left-wing sycophant, Michael Moore:
None of the usual suspects like the president’s own team, his friends in the mainstream media, or left-wingers like Michael Moore give two licks about the real victims of these tragedies. They care only about how they can exploit them to force their radical left-wing policies down our throats and to further become a thorn in the side to law abiding Americans.
Leaders like Governor Palin on the other have not politicized this tragedy. They merely sent out thoughtful words to the victims and the people in the area. What else can a decent person do? Such leaders do not allow tragedies and acts of terror to compromise our freedoms or liberties. They refuse to bow to evil nor do they give terrorists their benefit of the doubt while making the law-abiding pay the price. They know that despite attacks on our freedoms by people who hate it, that it’s worth fighting to preserve.
That leadership lacks in DC today. All the president and his allies have at this point are charges and mindless rhetoric (see above). It doesn’t matter who committed these atrocities. We should have been able to unite as a people to comfort those affected and to denounce it without it further becoming another partisan war. The president and his friends along with some wobbly Republicans in Congress with elections coming up provably thought otherwise.
