Our old buddy Nancy Pelosi surfaced today to stumble through a train wreck of a news conference, presumably to “celebrate” the four-year anniversary of another train wreck known as ObamaCare. Via The Hill:
House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi defended the president’s healthcare law as “a winner” despite worries of increasing premiums and the drag it could have on Democrats this fall.
Four years after the Affordable Care Act was signed into law, Pelosi defended the hiccups of its implementation in a rare recess-week press conference. The California Democrat pushed back on the idea that ObamaCare would hinder Democrats’ hopes in this year’s midterms, saying, “I believe that it’s a winner.”…
“We don’t weigh its value as to what it means politically. We weigh its value as to what it means to the health, well-being, economic and health security of America’s families,” she said. “We just couldn’t be prouder.”
There were several other highlights, including Pelosi’s bizarre claim the ObamaCare is lowering insurance premiums. When a reporter noted that the law has had the opposite effect, and that insurers have already indicated that ObamaCare rates for 2015 will increase dramatically, she questioned the reporter’s sources, nervously shuffled some papers, and refused to answer his question:
That was fun, but my favorite part of today’s spectacle was when she took umbrage at a reporter’s use of the term “ObamaCare” to label the Democrat’s health care debacle. I lost count of how many times she used the word “affordable” to describe the unaffordable ObamaCare.
I continue to worry that the Democrat Party will come to their senses and put this insufferable buffoon out to pasture. As long as she’s the face and voice of House Democrats, the GOP has little to fear. Let’s thank our lucky stars and hope like hell that Democrats heed her advice this fall and run on the wonders of ObamaCare.
