If you live in Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, or Washington, then please remember to go vote today.
There are a couple races of note in this mix:
In Kansas, Milton Wolf is challenging ancient, lifetime politician Pat Roberts. He’s been there for 47 years, folks. Let’s put that into context: when Roberts first went to Washington, LBJ was President, the handheld calculator was invented and the Monkees were still a thing. I’d say it’s long past time for him to go home and live under the laws he helped pass, don’t you?
Also in Kansas, Todd Tiahrt is vying for the Congressional seat he held for over a decade. This is an unusual situation to say the least. The man currently in that seat, Mike Pompeo is very much establishment-minded whereas Todd is all Tea Party. One would think the opposite would be the case.
The polls have this as a real race too, with Todd Tiahrt trending upward in all the key demographics. Todd is fully grassroots supported (they’re the ones who urged him to run) and the fact that he’s this close to an incumbent who has wildly outspent him is very encouraging.
Governor Palin endorsed Todd Tiahrt when he ran for the Senate a few years back so we know he’s one of the good guys. Here’s what she wrote of him in her endorsement:
“He didn’t just stand on the sidelines complacently, but instead actually battled against the bailouts, the debt-ridden stimulus spending, the cap-and-tax energy schemes, and Obamacare,” Palin wrote. “In fact, remember on the day Obamacare was being debated, Todd Tiahrt was on the House floor all day working to defeat it, and he’s helped lead the charge to repeal and replace Obamacare the moment it was signed into law.”
So please, if you live in Kansas’s 4th Congressional District, pull the lever for Todd Tiahrt today or if you know some friends in Kansas, give them a call and urge them to go vote for him.
Unfortunately, I don’t have any insight on the other races in any of the other states. Anything we should take note of? Let me know in the comments!
