Little did the media attack dogs know that when they were senselessly ridiculing Sarah Palin, they were insulting the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as well.
The N.Y. Daily News, Newsweek’s Daily Beast, and numerous other outlets all openly mocked Palin’s criticism of the D.C. establishment when she said in Iowa last weekend:
"The man can only ride you when your back is bent. So strengthen it. Then the man can’t ride you, America won’t be taken for a ride."
Bristol Palin knew who her Mom was paraphrasing, even if the clueless media didn’t. Writing on her Patheos blog, "I wonder how many of them know that analogy came from Martin Luther King Jr? I’d say none of them. Or at least, no one is pointing it out."
This is what MLK Jr. said:
“Change does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability, but comes through continuous struggle. And so we must straighten our backs and work for our freedom. A man can’t ride you unless your back is bent.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.
In their frenzied attempt to diminish Sarah Palin, our hapless media seems all too willing to assault the memory of Dr. King, if that will allow them to take potshots at Governor Sarah Palin along the way. No one is safe from the media’s six year campaign against Palin, not even Martin Luther King Jr.
"I’m proud of my mom who’s back is not bent, who stands up straight, and who fights for what she believes.", Bristol added. We are too.
Governor Palin shared Bristol’s post on her Facebook page:
