Gov. Sarah Palin Funds Boehner Opponents In Congress

July 26th, 2015 • iizthatiiz

Governor Sarah Palin has provided early funding toward the reelection campaigns of many of the House Representatives who voted against John Boehner for Speaker last January.

The FEC has released the Mid-Year Report filed by Sarah PAC.  The disclosure shows that Governor Palin made early contributions to 43 campaigns, 5 Senate candidates, and 38 House candidates.

07-26-15_Sarah_Palin_Funds_Anti_Boehner_Congressmen_Unhappy_JohnLast January, 25 House Republicans opposed the reelection of John Boehner for House Speaker. The FEC disclosure shows that Sarah PAC has recently made contributions to 18 of the 25 Congressmen who voted for someone other than John Boehner.

Those who opposed Boehner and have received early contributions from Sarah PAC include Justin Amash, Rob Blum, Dave Brat, Jim Bridenstine, Jeff Duncan, Scott Garrett, Chris Gibson, Louie Gohmert, Paul Gosar, Walter Jones, Steve King, Thomas Massie, Mark Meadows, Gary Palmer, Bill Posey, Marlin Stutzman, Daniel Webster, and Ted Yoho.

Daniel Webster, Louie Gohmert, Jeff Duncan, Trey Gowdy, Jim Jordan, and Ted Yoho all received votes to replace John Boehner as Speaker, and all received contributions from Sarah PAC

Rep. Matt Salmon, who withheld his vote until Boehner’s reelection was decided also received a contribution.

Of the five Senate campaigns that received a donation, four are prior Palin endorsements. New to the list is Marlin Stultzman, the Indiana Congressman who recently announced a Senate bid.  Stulzman voted against Boehner last January.  Col. Rob Maness also received a check.  Maness is widely expected to bid for the seat being left vacant by Sen. David Vitter, who is running for Louisiana Governor.

Many of the Congressmen who received donations are also prior Palin endorsements.  Sean Duffy, Paul Gosar, Mick Mulvaney, Steve Pearce, David Schweikert, Elise Stefanik, and Ted Yoho have all previously received the seal of approval from Governor Palin.
