Both Chris Christie and Mike Huckabee will not be invited to participate in the main event at next Tuesday’s Republican debate hosted by Fox Business. Both candidates failed to meet the qualifying minimum of 2.5 percent voter support in an average of recent polls.
They will however be allowed to join the ‘undercard’ debate which will take place prior to the main event where they presumably will join Bobby Jindal and Rick Santorum. Former undercard participants Lindsey Graham, Jim Gilmore, and George Pataki all failed to meet the one percent threshold of support and will not be invited.
Christie and Huckabee have both indicated that they will accept the invitation to debate with the lesser candidates.
