The establishments media mouth organs spent much of last evening conjuring up ways that Trump could still lose the nomination.
In any other election cycle where a candidate came in a close second in Iowa, followed by resounding victories in New Hampshire and South Carolina, the talking heads would be pointing toward a presumptive nominee.
What made last night so different? The leading candidate isn’t someone under the thumb of Washington’s ruling class.
After several hours of this broadcast drivel, former Speaker Newt Gingrich phoned into Fox News to set the punditry class straight in the wake of Donald Trump’s “decisive” South Carolina victory.
“It is a huge night for Donald Trump, and nobody should kid themselves.”
“What people need to get a grip on in the Washington establishment is, their job is to understand Trump. His job isn’t to understand them.”
“Between Trump, Cruz, and Carson .. 62 percent of South Carolina Republicans voted for very dramatic change.”
