C4P has the complete round-up of Governor Palin’s visit yesterday to the Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Florida
Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin was greeted with cheers and throngs of adoring supporters during a Sunday appearance at the Florida Strawberry Festival in support of Donald Trump.
The former governor of Alaska spent about an hour mingling with the crowd, signing autographs and posing for photographs. Palin said she’s an unequivocal supporter of Trump, who leads polls ahead of Tuesday’s Republican presidential primary.
“I like him because he’s an outsider. He’s not part of the problem,” she said.
Palin answered reporters’ questions but spent most of her 50 minutes at the festival working the crowd. Some fans had trouble getting close to her, but Carol Carr had a strategy to make sure she met her political hero.
“I got here 2?½ hours early and stood at a spot I knew she’d have to pass by,” said the Plant City resident, who was rewarded with a quick chat and a selfie photo with Palin.
Palin, […] made two stops at the festival grounds: at the Parkesdale Farms booth, where she was given a flat of berries, and at St. Clement Catholic Church’s make-your-own shortcake booth.
She stopped to chat at Parkesdale with family matriarch Helen Parke, 90, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The Parkesdale booth and produce market a short distance from the festival grounds have attracted a few presidential candidates over the years, including both President Bushes, President Barack Obama and McCain.
Parke said Palin was very engaging.
“It was just like talking to a neighbor. She asked my great-grandchildren their names and ages and a little about them,” she said. (Tampa Tribune)
