Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson: Now backing Donald Trump and supporting North Carolina bathroom bill

Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson has never been one to shy away from controversy.
The bearded patriarch of the reality television clan is now backing Donald Trump’s bid for the White House. He is also raising money to support groups backing a North Carolina law that requires people to use the bathroom that matches the gender they were born.
Robertson has previously backed Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz but the Texas Senator suspended his campaign last month. Now, Robertson said he will be “enthusiastically” behind Trump. The presumptive GOP nominee already had the endorsement of Robertson’s son, Willie Robertson, CEO of the family’s “Duck Commander.”
“They’re putting him (Trump) in there against Hillary Clinton – and it looks like it’s going to be her – so I’ll definitely be there for him,” Roberston said.
Trump said it was a “great honor” to have the elder Robertson’s endorsement.
“His son, Willie, has become a great friend of my son, Don. What a great family,” he said.
Robertson is also speaking out about North Carolina’s controversial North Carolina bathroom bill. In an email sent on behalf of Citizens United, Robertson said he was supporting a “radical idea.”
“Men should use the men’s bathroom and women should use the women’s bathroom,” Robertson said.
