Insurgent Candidate Paul Nehlen Thanks Sarah Palin for Endorsement in Wisconsin Fight to Unseat Paul Ryan

May 8, 2016

(Delavan, WI) – “Today’s news that Governor Sarah Palin had just endorsed my campaign to unseat Paul Ryan was incredibly welcome,” said insurgent candidate Paul Nehlen this afternoon. Nehlen is challenging 18-year incumbent Paul Ryan in Wisconsin’s 1st Congressional District.

“Governor Palin has long stood proudly against a Washington establishment that has proven itself utterly indifferent to the concerns and interests of American voters,” Nehlen added. “She has also courageously and repeatedly repudiated a corrupt establishment within the Republican Party. We are pleased to have her support in a crucial fight to unseat Paul Ryan, the man who now leads that GOP establishment and whose path has so clearly diverged from the interests of his own constituents and the American people.

“From day one, this campaign has set out to build a broad coalition of support. Governor Palin’s endorsement unquestionably helps us in the achievement of that goal. Team Nehlen is at the forefront of a burgeoning movement—engaged citizens here in Wisconsin’s 1st District and across the United States who know that Paul Ryan has betrayed us all with his cronyism. We invite any and all concerned citizens and organizations to unite with Team Nehlen in refusing to tolerate Paul Ryan’s betrayal any longer.”

Governor Palin’s endorsement is, in fact, the third national endorsement the Nehlen campaign has received in the space of a few short weeks. Michelle Malkin endorsed Nehlen on April 18th. Just a week later, on April 26th, the Tea Party Patriots, one of the nation’s largest grassroots organizations, announced its official endorsement of the campaign. Both Malkin and the Tea Party Patriots had endorsed Ted Cruz in the 2016 Republican presidential primary. That Palin supports Donald Trump demonstrates that Nehlen’s campaign against the increasingly unpopular Paul Ryan bridges divides in what has been a contentious presidential election cycle.
