Certainly, we can all agree that the (old fashioned) GOP lost the messaging and branding war with the Democrats and the LGBT(Q). Perception is everything. The viewpoint held by the majority of Gay Americans was that the Republican Party hated them. This isn’t true. But, optics and majority opinion matter. Not just in politics. In everything. Thank goodness Trump’s new GOP gets it.
One of biggest stark contrasts between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump is the way they view the electorate. They way they view people. One candidate categorizes Americans, and then uses them. The other candidate understands that we are all Americans. We’re all in this together.
Check out this interview from The Advocate with Trump from sixteen years ago.
Why should gays and lesbians be interested in you as a presidential candidate?
I grew up in New York City, a town with different races, religions, and peoples. It breeds tolerance. In all truth, I don’t care whether or not a person is gay. I judge people based on their capability, honesty, and merit. Being in the entertainment business — that is, owning casinos and … several large beauty pageants — I’ve worked with many gay people. I have met some tough, talented, capable, terrific people. Their lifestyle is of no interest to me.
Now imagine if Hillary Clinton had been asked the exact same question. What would we hear? We’d hear rehearsed, focus-grouped talking points about equality, oppression, and social justice. Doesn’t it make more sense to view all Americans based on their capabilities and their merit? Of course it does. Hillary views Gay Americans as a voting block. A voting block to be used. A voting block to be used for Hillary Clinton’s personal benefit. That’s disgusting. Trump on the other hand, rejects the notion of categorizing Americans into neat little boxes to be used for political gain.
For years Gay Republicans have been ostracized, called names, threatened, and black listed. Not by Christians. Not by Conservatives. Not by Republicans. Gay Republicans have been ostracized, called names, threatened, and black listed by Democrats; and by the so-called LGBT(Q).
“In a room full of Conservative Christians I have always been treated with kindness, respect, and tolerance. Ironically, in a room filled with the LGBT I’m treated with hostility, contempt, and intolerance, despite the fact that I only listen to show tunes and throw fabulous Academy Award parties”
Personally, I was praying that after the Supreme Court gave the LGBT(Q) everything they demanded, things would change. Things did not change. In the unholy name of Brand Protection, the commercially driven LGBT(Q) quickly moved on to their next class of victims to exploit. Both financially, and psychologically.
Instead of focusing on something negative, let’s take a moment and focus on something positive. Something organic. Something truly American. Let’s take a moment and focus on A New Hope. Something is in the air. We can feel it. There has been a shift in the force. We don’t have to be Obi-Wan, Yoda, or (my personal favorite) Princess Leia Organa (leader of the rebel alliance) to feel this providential shift in the force.
History is made up of moments. Events. Oftentimes, these moments and events are both tragic and horrific. Like the radical Islamic terrorist attack in Orlando. Even in moments of great sorrow and injustice, I believe it can help to look for a silver-lining. I believe it helps the grieving process. Is what happened in Orlando one of these moments? Is what happened in Orlando an event with the potential to help save the lives of all Americans? Could Orlando’s tragedy help unite our divided country in some small way? I hope so.
Immediately following the tragic Jihad in Orlando, Hillary Clinton blamed guns. C’mon, we expect nothing less from the epitome of an establishment politician. Yet, with sharp contrast, GOP Presidential nominee Donald J. Trump, went another route. The common sense route. The route of our new GOP. Trump went directly to the core of the issue: Holy War.
“We cannot continue to allow thousands upon thousands of people to pour into our country many of whom have the same thought process as this savage killer. Many of the principles of radical Islam are incompatible with Western values and institutions.
Remember this, radical Islam is anti-woman, anti-gay and anti- American.
I refuse to allow America to become a place where gay people, Christian people, Jewish people are targets of persecution and intimation by radical Islamic preachers of hate and violence”

Donald Trump’s truth, strength, and genuine passion did not go unnoticed by Gay Americans. In fact, Trump’s bold response activated them. The bold truth Donald Trump spoke, activated Gay Americans. Gay Americans who were previously under the spell of the irresponsible Democrats, and current leadership of the LGBT(Q). Breaking a spell isn’t impossible. They have to be weakened. Truth is one of life’s most potent deodorants and antiseptics. Especially in matters of unholy origin. Truth has the power to set things free. We all have free will. We should use it more often. The results can be quite spectacular.
As C4P reported the other day, citizens of West Hollywood, CA. found the city plastered with Rainbow enhanced Gadsden Flags with the hashtag #shootback all over town. But the shift doesn’t end there. Gun sales are skyrocketing. Who’s buying them? Yup. You guessed it. Gay Americans are buying guns.
Firearms retailers are reporting a surge in sales among gays and lesbians in the aftermath of the Orlando massacre.
Gun sales typically surge after a mass shooting as people take steps to ensure their personal security, but now a new cohort is heading to the gun store: LGBT folks.
KDVR reports: “However, what’s different this time around is the clientele. Mike Smith, a firearms instructor in Colorado Springs, is one of many closely tracking the sudden surge in gays and lesbians buying weapons.”
“I look at it as a disenfranchised minority that needs someone who’s willing to say I’m a resource who’s here and willing to help,” Smith told KDVR.
“We’re not surprised by it,” George Horne, owner of a Denver firearms dealer, told KDVR.
The Pink Pistols, a club for gay and lesbian gun owners, saw its membership rolls more than double since the massacre. “It’s sad that we must consider such things, but when there are persons out there who mean us harm, we must find ways to protect ourselves within the law,” Gwendolyn Patton, speaker for the club, said in a statement.

Gay Americans buying guns isn’t my point. My point is simple: We are all Americans. One candidate gets it, and one candidate doesn’t get it. That’s it. This isn’t hard to understand. Until we stop allowing ourselves to be categorized into groups to be used for political gain, the country will remain as it is. Divided. Divided into little boxes based on race, gender, religion, ideology, and sexual orientation. Aren’t we better than that? I know we are.
Reversing the spell, cast on Gay Americans by the Democrats and by the commercially driven LGBT(Q), isn’t going to be easy. But it can happen quickly. Truth has the power to bring forth a simple change of consciousness. This powerful combination is really all that’s required for progress to be made.
Shortly after the Supreme Court ruling on Gay Marriage came down. I urged Gay Americans to assimilate into society. I urged Gay Americans to reject the self-segregation that the LGBT(Q) and the Democrats thrive and make money on.
Let’s talk about self-identity for a minute. Given the Supreme Court decision, who are you now? You are no longer a victim. You are no longer denied anything that other Americans have. If you were unhappy with your life prior to the Supreme Court ruling, you will continue to be unhappy. Why? Because the commercially driven LGBT selected an identity for you that is based on your private sexual activities, victimhood, and oppression.
The first step is to remove sex from the equation. Sex isn’t very interesting. Dogs do it. Is your private sex life the most interesting thing about you? I certainly hope not. No matter what your occupation is, wouldn’t you rather be a lawyer, a doctor, or an actor; instead of a gay-lawyer, a gay-doctor, or a gay-actor? C’mon gals and guys, we’re all Americans.
It is the duty of all Americans to assimilate into society, retain their heritage and orientations, and live together side by side as American citizens. This is how America works. We are all individuals with different backgrounds, different customs, different orientations, and different self-identities. But, we are all Americans.
So today, right now, ask yourself this important question: Who am I? I pray that you realize you are more than your sexuality. I’m looking forward to helping guide you through your assimilation into society, and helping you develop the right to a self-identity. Stay tuned for more; in order to successfully assimilate into society, there are more issues that need to be addressed. God Bless each and every one of you. I really want to help all Americans get along. Together, we can do this.
In November, Gay Americans have a choice. A choice between a candidate who thinks the solution to Holy War is to disarm Gay Americans, and a candidate who understands that Gay Americans are a target in this Holy War. A candidate who sees Gay Americans as a voting block to be used, and a candidate who rejects segregation; and seeks potential in all Americans.
There really is only one choice.
