The fallen Senator, Ted Cruz, made a big fool of himself last night at the RNC Convention. He had an opportunity to walk on stage and weaken his Lyin Ted reputation, or to solidify his Lyin Ted reputation. He solidified it.
Cruz had an opportunity to walk on stage and weaken his bad reputation that shamefully includes truths like, Ted Cruz Tactics ‘Cheap;’ ‘Low Life, Sleazy Politics’, as Governor Huckabee said just a few short hours ago. Governor Huckabee went even further; shedding new light on Ted Cruz’s lack of integrity, and basic common decency:
“I can attest to the fact that even in our campaign there were many efforts to try and say that people shouldn’t vote for me or Rick Santorum or Ben Carson,” Huckabee said of the controversy over the Iowa caucus where the Cruz campaign spread a CNN report that Carson was dropping out of the race and to urge Carson supporters to vote for Cruz instead. “The Cruz people said it would be a wasted vote and they should vote for Cruz. It wouldn’t have made a difference for any of us but it is the kind of low-life, sleazy politics people truly get sick of.”
Charles Krauthammer was not amused with Senator Cruz’s embarrassing display of self interest.
Charles Krauthammer said that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) “blew it” at the Republican National Convention with his address in which he did not endorse Donald Trump.
“What Cruz delivered was the longest suicide note in American political history and this morning he added an addendum,” said Krauthammer.
“As of this morning, I think he’s destroyed his political career right there,”
Last year, the Senator made a promise. U.S Senator Ted Cruz stood on a stage in front of the American people, and God, and made a promise. Think about that. Ted Cruz promised to support the eventual GOP nominee for President of the United States of America. Last night, Cruz broke this promise. The American electorate is sick and tired of politicians who make promises to the American people, and then dishonorably break the promise. Governor Christie talked about this to CNN:
Cruz didn’t just break his promise. Senator Cruz accepted Donald J Trump’s invitation to speak last night, and then went on stage and insulted the American voters. Not smart. Cruz disgraced himself, live on TV, while millions of hard working Americans watched from their homes. Not smart.
Ted Cruz didn’t just depreciate and end his career last night. He told America to vote for Hillary Clinton. Does Senator Cruz’s line, “vote your conscience” sound familiar? It should.
If you love our country, and love your children as much as I know that you do, stand and speak and vote your conscience, vote for candidates up and down the ticket who you trust to defend our freedom and to be faithful to the Constitution.
Vote your conscience. https://t.co/xahMq2sU1q
Ted Cruz’s “vote your conscience” BS will go down in history. It will go down in history as Cruz’s personal “Read My Lips” moment, that ended the political career of President H.W. Bush. Governor Sarah Palin was the first to see this earlier today.
Cruz’s broken pledge to support the will of the people tonight was one of those career-ending “read my lips” moments. I guarantee American voters took notice and felt more unsettling confirmation as to why we don’t much like typical politicians because they campaign one way, but act out another way.
Newt Gingrich chimed in with a great response to Senator Cruz’s sedition last night.
If we have learned anything at all about this election cycle it is this: The American electorate is thoroughly disgusted with politicians who break promises. The stupidest man in the room doesn’t understand this.
Good Bye Senator Ted Cruz. You will be primaried.
