A New York based charity that supports the families of first responders who have made the ultimate sacrifice, has paid off the mortgages for families of police officers who were ambushed and murdered in Dallas on July 7th, 2016.

The ‘Tunnel to Towers Foundation‘ presented the donation to the families of Sergeant Michael Smith and Officer Brent Thompson according to a report from Dallas area station KDAF.

The organization also has funds in waiting for the family of Officer Patrick Zamarripa, who do not currently own a home, but will be ready to assist his widow when she is ready to purchase. The families of Corporal Lorne Ahrens and Officer Michael Krol will each receive a $100k donation.

The mission of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation is to honor the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller who laid down his life to save others on September 11, 2001.
