#ComeyHearings: How Did Actors Evolve From Same Social Status As Prostitutes To Heroes?

The Greeks (especially Plato) were not fond of actors because they mimicked man rather than instructing man, and their art lacked morality because its core was deception. The Romans categorized actors in their system of slavery. The Chinese placed actors all the way down their food chain, and considered them lower class. The Japanese recognized no difference between actors and prostitutes, as the performers were also for sale.

Many civilizations viewed actors as a decadent and foolish distraction. Even dangerous. The danger was that actors could potentially turn society away from seriousness, and towards dishonesty.

Kathy Griffin’s seditious art, the incomprehensible screeching of plump lesbian Rosie O’ Donnell, the vapid and inaccurate lecture from the over rated performer Meryl Streep – the list of episodic psychotic outbreaks by Hollywood performers grows daily.

Today was no exception.

Hollywood performers squealed, demented and off the rocker, knee-jerk reactions during James Comey’s testimony.

Were our ancestors right all along?
