New White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci • Press Conference
The White House | July 21st, 2017
Sarah Huckabee Sanders introduced President Trump’s new Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci to the White House press corp, where he took questions for well over 30 minutes.
Several times Scaramucci had to correct reporters who attempted to paint a false narrative that his appointment was intended to put a White House that had gone off course back on track. Scaramucci took issue with the question saying that "the White House is on track", saying that media was "missing perspective". No sooner had he rebutted that first journalists assessment, when a second reporter asked essentially the exact same question, "What is the first thing that you’re going to change to try to right this ship and put it on a course?", asked Fox News’ John Roberts. "Again, I take issue with that", retorted Scaramucci. "The ship is going in the right direction."
Scarmucci is replacing acting Communications Director Sean Spicer, who will departing the Trump administration. Sarah Huckabee Sanders has been officially elevated to Press Secretary.
