New York Mayor Bill de Blasio was chased from an event in Queens by a resident upset by his recent trip to Germany where he joined with anti-American protesters.
The mayor was in Whitestone to announce new funding to fix city sidewalks damaged by tree roots.
Vickie Paladino was driving by an ordered her husband to stop the car. She pounced as the mayor was leaving. He started to walk toward her, but when he heard what she was saying, he simply fled, taking refuge in his SUV as Paladino kept it up.
“I don’t care about the trees,” she shouted. “Pay your police officers and stop spending it on money to go protest against our country.”
She spoke with Kramer on Friday and continued to ask questions.
“Why did you go to Germany? Why did you stand with the communists, the anarchists, the socialists when you’re supposed to be here,” she said. “Taking care of our business, our police officers.” (CBS New York)
Vickie’s husband captured the entire exchange on cell phone video. Paladino spoke with reporters after de Blasio’s hasty departure.
My parents happened to drive by NYC mayor Bill DeBlasio doing a photo-op in their Queens neighborhood, and my mother decided to pull over to tell him exactly what she thinks of him and the job he’s doing.
DeBlasio ran for cover as soon as she confronted him, and the local news ate it up. Local NYPD on the scene shook her hand and thanked her for telling the mayor everything they wish they could say to him themselves.
Apologies for the vertical video, my dad was recording and he’s not an experienced cameraman! (Evocateur – YouTube)
